This is hard to blame Sixt for but the entrance for drop off was across the street from where we picked up the car and was not well sign-posted for the direction we entered the area. We got stuck in the employee entrance and had to escape before getting across the street to the right entrance. The Sixt employees, when we finally found them, were great. Very helpful. The email support I received was also very quick and helpful.
Very unhappy with Hassan at the pick up. I am used to car rental agents trying to sell you all kind of upgrades etc, but 1st he tried to scare us about the tires, saying they were summer tires when the sign clearly said “all weather tire”. When it came to paying he quoted me the amount in US dollars and told me to pick my currency at the pay pad- of course one picks the currency familiar with and the one that got quoted. At the moment I had picked US the rate jumped up quite considerably. When I asked him about that, he said I should have picked danish crowns. He hadn’t mentioned anything about a fee for choosing US dollars. We have traveled a lot in Europe and I have never experienced being charged an additional fee , and a quite hefty one. When I asked him to cancel and let me redo, he insisted he couldn’t do that. He said if he would do it we would have to wait until the next day to rent the car. If Sixt charges such a high fee the representative should make customers aware of it prior to choosing. Makes you feel taken advantage off. Also, our car did not have an ice scraper so we had to buy our own. Small thing, but I was already quite upset about the whole fee thing, I still am almost 3 weeks later
Sixt claim we paid less money and maybe the balance was agent fee
I was 4 hours ahead of chedule because of airline changes. The reserved car was not ready so I had to spend over two thousend Kroner extra to get a car. Do you want me to come back to your company?
Great company to rent with, and excellent open hours compared to the other rental companies at CPH. Small car with only the basics, but it was all I needed.
The host who helped us was very friendly and helped us purchase toll passes ahead of time.
