Wonderful staff and great location
The pool would have been wonderful given the location and views of the ocean, but it was so dirty and unkempt.... We visited the pool nearly every afternoon for the entire week and not once was the pool cleared of leaves, grass, garbage. There was a spot on the pavement that a drink must have spilled or something and it was there for the entire 6 days. I was quite disappointed considering the resort fee is apparently supposed to cover towels/chairs by the pool. Also, it seemed staff was never around to help set up chairs, grab towels and the like, finally we just went and got our own. Very disappointed because this place has so much potential!
Beautifull hotel with very friendly and helpfull staff. Late checkout (1500) to do the spectacular jet-ski tour around the island they provide was not a problem at all
Location is beautiful Beach is full of rocks and algae. The public beach next door is much better. First room was filthy and had a broken toilet. Second room was in desperate need of updates
Beach location was great. Room floor was hard, so it was not good for 8 months baby.
Beach and pools are great. Staff on the beach that set us up in our cabana was great, the only positive staff experience we had. Front desk couldn't find our third party reservation so gave us an ultimatum of leave and try to get our money back or stay in a handicap room at current rate. Also told us never to book through a third party...then why do you participate in those sites?! 5 minutes after we were in our room they called and said, oops we found it you're good. Meanwhile charged us $200 to open credit card even though we had prepaid through 3rd party the charged our card another $330 the next day which they could not explain. In fact when i called down to front desk to ask for an explanation they said they were really busy with guests, but would try to assist. I laughed. They then just said it would be refunded at check out with no explanation. Room had dead fruit flies everywhere, it's Florida, I get it. We live here, but I asked the front desk to have someone come clean them up and no action was taken. We made the best of it, always do, but they will not get repeat business from us.
Good location. They gave us an upgrade to a ocean view with balcony. Room is nice. We didn't like the food at the hotel and it was very overpriced.
Location of the hotel was great. Access to beach and proximity to the downtown was a great asset. Daniel at check in was very helpful.
everything incredible hotel wonderful grounds breathtaking hotel INCREDIBLE TOP NOTCH STAFF I could go on and on This is now a must for me in Key West Absolutely nothing
The hotel is beautiful and the private beach is definately a plus. The pier that you can swim off of as well as the hammocks, games to play and outside dining were fabulous. The drinks were pretty pricey and we were hoping that there would have been more options with the menu between breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The luxury and good service from the staff at all times. Got help with restaurants, and we also liked the proximity of bar, restaurant and beach to the hotel. That TV cost. They might have included some more things in the servicefee of USD25.
The bed was very comfortable...but, it would be good to have had a bath in our bedroom...and we were moved 3 times before we departed and this was in a 4 night stay period...
Ive stayed here before and had an excellent experience, which was what prompted me to return. Unfortunately, this time did not meet my expectations of a Waldorf property. Upon arrival there was not a single employee outside the hotel. I unloaded all luggage myself. There's NO ramp at this hotel, so i had to lug every suit case up the stairs. Sweating in a suit and arms full of bags and suit case handles, a customer sitting in the lobby ran out to hold the door for me, and even said, "wow, you'd expect more from the Waldorf" to which i said, "you read my mind." The front desk attendant was polite and informed me that valet was at a staff meeting and she did help me with my bags to my room. Also, I ordered room service one night. Like the card said, i called the number to have them retrieve my tray, which i left outside of the door. 12 hours later when i was leaving in the morning, the tray was still there. I didn't have a horrible experience by any means. But given that this is a waldorf property, i expected excellence, and i did not experience that.
The location was great, staff very attentive and the decor was very contemporary and upscale. Better view from room.
Dirty rooms and no ocean view with unfriendly staff!!!
View Dishonest staff with poor attitude. Bathroom in lobby was filthy. Poorly managed and needs updatng
Nice location right by the beach and nice room with really comfortable king size bed. Noisy air condition in the room
It was clean and staff was friendly. The design of the hotel leading to the rooms was a maze for which I did not care for as it was confusing to find your room, elevators and parking garage. Also I did not realize that they charged for parking per day.
We had a nice and spacious room with a balcony overlooking the sea. What we did not like is the fact that the hotel is made of several intricated buildings. Our kids's room was far from our room and from the lobby.
The people where very nice, service was fast and accurate. The Cuban Sandwiches where very good. Great roast pork! I complimented the chef. The extra charge for parking. It seems petty to charge $20 per night that your 1 car is parked in the parking garage. the cost for the weekend was plenty. The breakfast was good but a little pricey.
The localization. The construction of the hotel almost inside the sea. The bridge over the sea. The garden and the lights at night... The vallet isn´t necessary at all. The Serbian recepcionist take an enternity with us and our bags all around the hotel from the lobby till the room.
Location is wonderful. Step out of your room and directly to the beach. No Menu inside the room.
Great location and friendly staff
The rooms were very well appointed and comfortable. The pool and beach area were extremely clean and well kept. The are plenty of water activities and beach games. The staff were friendly and helpful. The main part of Key West is only a 5 min walk for good food, shopping and nightlife. The bar shuts at 10pm every night even at the weekends! Not good if you just want to relax and enjoy a couple of drinks. Parking is at an extra cost of $15 a night which is not included in the $25 resort fee. There was no mention of this when booking.
beautiful accomodation, excellent service - nothing not to like! the beach wasn't great but there was a lovely bar/cafe nearby
beautiful units with top range kitchen and bathroom fitments. staff exceptional and pool side bar supplied free soft drinks all day.
Everything was first class, from the suite itself to the staff. I had heard numerous good things about the hotel and I was not disappointed.
Ultra modern villa. We found the accomidations to be outstanding, so nice in fact we have already scheduled to return. Very, very, very nice. Not a thing we didn't like.
a lovely hotel nice a quiet but within easy walking distance to duval street and noise and bustle. hotel staff could not be more helpful and polite. We are a family of four and found this place great
Beautiful facility, friendly staff, beautiful landscapping and good location. It was less than one block from the Atlantic ocean. Easy bike ride to any where else on the island. Quiet at night with scenic views from the multiple balconies in each suite. Not really.
The Resort is fantastic - its was just as the website described. Nice touch with Fresh muffins & chocs at night.Cant wait to stay again.
Really excellent suite. Luxurious and comfortable. There was confusion about how many of us were coming, blamed on using a third party website. Confusion sorted out at check in
the customer service was extraordinary. Everyone went out of their way to ensure that my entire family was happy. Free wine and cheese by the pool daily for the adults, and unlmited fruit smoothies and botttled water for the kids (all day). We were thrilled when muffins were delivered to the room every night for the morning. Chocolates on the bed etc...The concierge was great!!!
The suite was beautiful and it included everything you would need for a comfortable stay. The location in town is great...close enough to Duval street, but not too close. The staff was very helpful.
Beautiful, great staff. I stayed last year with a friend and we had a great time. This year I had found out it had bought buy a corporation. What this proved to show to me is, no more smoking anywhere on the premises, jacked up prices, and no floaty's. In the pool. No robes or conditioner in the bathroom. Although small things, it really changed the experience when I had previously been so impressed. Will be looking for a new getaway next visit to key west.
The location is good. Close to the downtown. Our room. It was next to the service area. They parked their cleaning dolly's in front of our window and had loud conversations from early morning. We couldn't look out the window as the maids were right in front. So much for ocean view. The door stuck to the point my wife couldn't open it. The AC unit was very noisy. Like on old ice machine. We experienced this when we returned from dinner and a night out so it was late evening, we didn't mention until check out. We we mentioned the morning of check out they were indifferent. Said we should have called maintenance in the middle of the night,
Absolutely loved this hotel . would most definitely go back .
The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Rena and Luis were great staff that made our stay extra pleasant. My husband and I are expecting our first child and they surprised us with sparking cider cookies and a baby picture frame. Rena especially went out of her way to make our stay and enjoyable one. We decide to stay four nights instead if two and they discounted our rate. I didn't want to leave.
Ocean view with balcony sitting area. Pool with bar and food available. Quiet but an easy walk to all the fun of Duval street.
Nice and clean facilities, friendly staff, and location was outstanding. Love the hammocks for taking a nap in the afternoon. For the price you pay, the rooms are a little on the small side. After an evening on Duval Street, went back for a nightcap with my son. The rum runner I ordered tasted a little funny, but my son and I agreed it was ok. After drinking it, was advised by bartender he made it with all 151 rum because he was out of Bacardi at the time, "hope that was ok." Not what I needed for a nightcap. Another bartender on site, Arjay, was outstanding and personable.
Staff was exceptionally friendly and responsive; location was a quick walk to anywhere; rooms were quiet and comfortable. There's a nice Cuban food stand across the street for a quick breakfast. The poolside staff made sure we had what we needed at all times and the lunches they deliver to poolside from the cafe' were great. Couples' massage was very relaxing. Can't wait to return!
Partial ocean-view room had a great balcony with a beautiful view. Room was clean and very comfortable. We enjoyed the hammocks at the Sand Bar and watching the sunset from the pier. Great location on the water, but close enough to Duval Street to enjoy all the restaurants and clubs with ease. The hotel restaurant was also exceptional. Would definitely recommend!
Rooms and food were amazing. Beautifully kept facility. Great views and nice beaches.
This is such a lovely Bed and Breakfast, located on the quiet site of Duval Street (right around the corner from the Most Southern Point), The house is gorgeous and the rooms are beautiful and spacious. We had a lovely time there.
We have spent at Avalon one night only. Very nice and clean rooms. The hotel is situated on the Duval street, one of the famous streets of the Key West. Aproximetly 200 metres from The Southernmost land point of US. We recomment.
Very friendly staff. beautifull room and the location is also perfect. Costs a bit more than the hotels in the north of the island, but it's worth it! I would recommend this to everyone! Also the parkingcosts around Duvall street are very high, but Avalon has a private parking space and its free for all guests!! NONE!
The room was very small but very nice and well decorated but I think it is because of the type of room I chose (the price was reasonable).
Position room too small
Our room had a full kitchen, was very reasonably priced, and the staff was superb. They were very flexible with our arriving early and checkin out late. Everyone made the effort to look me in the eye and greeted me with a smile. Very professional. The cleaning staff started their rounds pretty early, like 9:30, and we weren't up and moving yet.
Very friendly staff, relaxing atmosphere, the best location (walking distance to Duval restaurants and galleries), cozy rooms, outdoor chairs right by your room, life music from the next door restaurant. I will definitely come back and would recommend to stay at Wicker Guesthouse . The outdoor patio looks a little old, but due to the weather specific in the Keys (rain and flooding ) I guess it's not easy to keep it at perfect condition all the time. Everything else is great.
The room was clean, nice pool area, the location was great and very friendly staffs. I'll definitely stay here again. None
Location: amazing!! Right across from Hemingway's house, less than a block to the lighthouse, walking distance to Southernmost and Mallory Square via an easy stroll up Duval Street. Picture-perfect intimate courtyard, nice pool, good breakfast included, and privacy-based rooms.
The location is great, one block off of Duval street right next to the Hemingway home in historic Key West. The room was beautiful and the staff was great. I would recommend the light house court to anyone. Not being able to stay longer
Quiet. Great location. Nice staff. Very comfortable. No
Great location in the midst of the Old Town. Very nice room, helpful staff
Beautiful spacious rooms, especially for Key West, charming pool area and accommodating staff.
The location The bed was a lil worn out.
Staff, grounds, amenities, fridge/microwave in room Not all the towels were stain-free; iron was dirty and ruined a shirt; I'm not a fan of 'continental breakfasts' as they are carb heavy and nutrient poor. But, that seems the standard in the US...too bad the standard couldn't be exceeded
Beautifully landscaped, wonderful room. The location is charming, quiet and private, yet only a few blocks from the main Duval Street strip. There is a scooter rental place 2 blocks away and they have bicycles for rent on-site. Delightful. Romantic.
Large Suite for Key West. Super clean. Location Location Location!! Nope.
It was close to everything. I have problems walking but I was able to get out and walk to key sites without too much of a problem. If I go back, I will stay there again. Nothing. Everything was superb and they make guests feel special.
The rooms were very nice. Bedrooms and bathrooms were clean.
Cosy, nice staff. Clean bathroom. Perfect location. Continental breakfast was ok. The smell of mold and humitity in the room was uncomfotable. Our clothes did not smell good after our stay. The mattress in the bed was old and should have been replaced.
It was very quaint and clean.
Duval Gardens has a romantic and peaceful feel, with benefits of prime location off Duval Street. Loved the kitchenette. Small (but nice) bathroom and no hot tub
close to everything could walk did not have to drive to anything no closets in room
Nicely furnished and decorated kitchenette unit, large bath, nice continental breakfast on the porch in the morning. Close to all the "action" on Duval Street!!
Perfect location on the most interesting street in Key West. Very friendly staff. Comfortable and super clean room. The breakfast was ok, but is a bit over sweet, as is the American way.
It is right in the heart of the activities area. 2 blocks for bike and motorscooter rental (highly recommended as parking is almost non-existent around the tourist and activities area - but you can park a bike or scooter anyway). Or just walk another couple of blocks. The room is quaint and charming. This is a small hotel, a converted old home like many of the hotels in the old area are. The pool area is charming as well. With I think only 6 or 8 rooms, very quiet. A couple of the rooms such as ours have a private bathroom/shower, but it is down the hall. Most rooms have their own bathroom. I didn't mind the private lockable bathroom being a few feet down the hall, but my wife wasn't that fond of that aspect. There is no on-site parking - also common to those little hotels in the activities, historic and tourist district, but you can unload there. You can park your scooter there. Anyone familiar with Key West knows it is bicycle and scooter town due to limited parking everywhere. Otherwise you have to find street parking (free). We arrived late and they let us leave our car in the driveway until the next morning. For Key West, the price certainly was right and again super convenient. The BIG motels and hotels cost much more and are FAR away - not within walking distance.
Really good service, clean rooms, great location. Overall nice place to stay. We had a room on the first level and you could hear every move made by the guests upstairs. Not for light sleepers.
Like most reviews read, the hotel is located in a convenient location near enough to walk down Duval or head to Mallory Square. There is adequate parking for guest. Rooms are clean with a modern feel. The pool is popular with guest. Although small, it kept everyone happy. Breakfast was always set up by 7 am, but it is a light breakfast. If you want something heavier, there is a Denny's nearby that you can walk to. Staff was pleasant. Breakfast could have included eggs, and the bread choices dwindled if you came late, as it was not restocked. As said above, if you are looking for a bigger breakfast just walk over to Dennys.
Premises Breakfast included Mini terrace at each room Clean Location Having eggs, ham... something salty, would be a plus at breakfast minibar is empty/ no bar service around the pool Somewhat expensive
Good location, prople lind. Bugs in the bathroom
Friendly staff who gave assistance when asked and home from home environment
The hotel was quaint and historic and convenient. The people were very friendly and helpful For the price, the room was very small and the bathroom even smaller. Also the "pool" was not a pool, more a very small "birdbath"!
Very nice, clean, and welcoming. South street is at the end of Duval St. just 2 blocks to the inn.
Staff was very attentive during our stay; booked all of our sailing and fishing trips for us and we had a great experience.
Lush gardens, location to the conveniences spa was not heated
Friendly hosts, good breakfast in a lovely garden setting, two blocks from Southernmost point in Key West, romantic, clean. Minor maintenance problems like sticky doors, but everything in the room was clean and worked well.
The people, critters and breakfast!!!! Couldn't pick just one! No complaints from us!
Very friendly owners who helped at check in. Had booked king room but was placed in cottage. Agreed charge would only be at king room cost due to mix up by AIO. Welcome drink was appreciated as was the assistance given on directions and local information, advising on both good and less desirable parts of town. Breakfast was lovely but from personal experience would have been appreciated a little earlier.
not a good experience I would make sure that the air conditioner did not have mold around the vent system and i would make sure that the sponge to clean dishes did not have mold on it and just have the room clean. Not worth $1000.00! The hotel people were well aware and did not clean up the situation.
El Patio was ok. Towels were grey and kind of thin. My top sheet had small stains at the top of it- didn't investigate further. It's a long walk from Duval late at night. Close to beach and southernmost point. For the price, it's ok but I would try to be closer to Duval next time. There are closer motels of average quality that are similarly priced. Nice little pool. Quiet. Cute fifties vibe.
location to simple
Retro style motel, slow paced, quiet. Internet not available in room.
Great price. Clean and cold. Very simple basic no frill hotel room
rooms are big, a lot of tables/corners to sit and meet, nice trees on property, free parking, Duval Street in walking range, price for Key West not too bad, air condition hardly managed to keep rooms cool,
FLOWERS AND PATIO WAS VERY DECORATIVE ROOM WASN'T VERY CLEAN, STAFF WERE NOT VERY FRIENDLY AND PARKING WAS NOT BIG ENOUGH FOR ALL GUESTS. ROOM WAS ONE OF THE LESS EXPENSIVE PLACES IN KEY WEST BUT STILL NOT WORTH THE COST.
Loved the Patio Garden and the Rooftop. Lucy was great with directions and very helpful with our room. Kitchen well furnished. Pull out sofa bed really needed a new mattress.
Bed was very uncomfortable. Very small bathroom.
Very quirky and cute. The pool area feels like you're tucked away and is lush with trees and beautiful flowers. The room had a vintage feel, which I love. Rooms, linens, and bathroom were clean. Staff was friendly and helpful in giving tips to the town. WiFi worked pretty well, which I find isn't the case with most hotels. Shower water pressure wasn't great, but I didn't mind.
Very cute. It is an intimate, friendly place. Close to everything.
The location was great, staff was wonderful and facilities very welcoming Our second night we left due to cockroaches
Convenient location. Easy check-in/check-out. Affordable rates.
