Pros: From the moment we arrived, we were treated like royalty. The attention to detail on all levels was magical. Dinner at the XO Lounge was memorable. And the vodka Martini was a dream A perfect way to start the holiday season. This is now our family pre-Christmas tradition. Thank you wonderful staff at the St. James..
Cons: Not a thing!
9.4 Excellent
Pros: Staff was exceptional and went out of their way to ensure a seem less guest experience. Accommodations were beautiful, well-appointed and thoughtful not to mention entirely unique in each guestroom.
Cons: Spa was only open by appointment so no fitness or spa services were experienced. The hitel restaurant was good but not great although it was impeccably styled and the wait staff were wonderful. Menu could use more options
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very good location. Nice staff and comfortable room.
Cons: The breakfast is poor and expensive.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The service and stay was marvelous. There beds were amazing, the bathrooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff was the friendliest staff I have ever encountered at a hotel. I want to go back.
Cons: The location and the concierge was fantastic. Coming to a city where you do not know where to go, they were very knowledgeable and helpful.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: If you like individual flair and the style of a high class traditional hotel, Le St. James is a perfect place. Offside conventional hotel chains and a very friendly and caring service
5.7 Okay
Pros: Architecture, beautiful rooms
Cons: Very rude staff in the restaurant, room temperature was to high, even at the lowest settings the heat kept coming.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Room was beautiful. The location was outstanding.
7.0 Good
Pros: Great location- beautiful hotel & rooms
Cons: There was a tremendous amount of loud banging beginning @ 6:15 am and continuing through the morning. The hotel said it was people at the gym - I can’t imagine Some of the lights in the room were flicking and you couldn’t use them
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean comfortable rooms and a great location next to Notre-Dame Basilica and near the metro.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We only stayed one night and wished we could stay longer. Beautiful hotel!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful hotel, excellent location. Valet parking an added bonus in the snow.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very good location, beautiful clean room.
6.0 Good
Pros: The hotel lobby is beautiful and great adjacent restaurant. Some of the front desk staff were nice. Location is amazing.
Cons: The gym has no windows and there are no yoga mats available in the gym or for the room. My room had a terrible smell. It was likely as a result of their cleaning solution but it was gross. I did mention it to them but not change or service was offered. If you can get a room with a brick wall or character that's probably better. My room had small windows, big bare white walls, vinyl floors and smelled.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was perfect for all things in Old Town Montreal; hotel itself was upscale without being pretentious, staff is AMAZING and the room was cozy and spacious. The bed was so comfortable and bathroom was like being at a resort. Adjacent to the cathedral, a 5 minute walk to the metro, 3 blocks away from Rue Saint-Paul and a 15 minute ride to shopping and local nightlife on Rue Sainte-Catherine. If you choose to stay in for the evening, 2 top-notch restaurants, plus a rooftop bar with an excellent view of Montreal. This hotel does it right.
Hotel Nelligan - Montreal - Building

9.3 Excellent (1,893 reviews)

Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, a business center, and express check-in. Planning an event in Montreal? This hotel has facilities measuring 7000 square feet (650 square meters), including a conference center.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: I loved the brick details and the intimate feel of the property. The bathroom was beautiful and the fireplace made the stay so cozy.
Cons: I did not love the parking situation for the hotel, it was a little hard to determine where to layup our car while we checked in. I also did not love the coffee in the room being nespresso
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The travel size bathroom stuff. The bed.
Cons: The parking situation. When we arrived there was nowhere to park in front of the place for the valet, so we went around the block and eventually got yelled at for parking somewhere else only because we couldn't park in front of the hotel at first.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: beautiful hotel and great staff restaurant verses was only mediocre but we were there on a busy night
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Property is ideally located in Old Montreal. The facility is amazing and the rooms are large with all the high end amenities. Would definitely stay here next time
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We upgraded to larger room cause weather kept us indoors much of the time Modest fee and much enjoyment. Excellent concierge. Maude. Entire staff very helpful.
Cons: Visit in Feb so we missed the parks and river.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The petite suite was exceptionally comfortable, and beautifully appointed. The staff was comprised of some of the most pleasant, helpful, people ever seen on this planet.
Cons: The room had an espresso maker, but did not have a regular coffee maker. For those of us who find espresso unpalatable, a regular coffee maker would be far preferable.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Bed comfy
7.0 Good
Pros: Location. Staff were very accommodating.
Cons: Room was not cleaned to our expectations, especially big cobwebs hanging from high ceiling. I also believe that I was charged improperly and will be trying to work through that shortly with the hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Greet you from moment you arrive. Clean , many amenities, location and outstanding staff.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: This is my "go-to" Hotel in the Old Port of Montreal. The restaurant, rooftop bar, Mechant Beouf, make this place a favorite for my Husband and I. From our 1 year wedding anniversary, now 8 years later and it is still our other go to. Great place for couples.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Character of hotel and front desk staff were helpful and friendly
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is worth every penny. Lovely character that suits the old port of Montreal. Excellent service as well. The rooms are beautiful and very clean. I would definitely stay again.

Featured amenities include a 24-hour business center, limo/town car service, and dry cleaning/laundry services. Planning an event in Montreal? This hotel has facilities measuring 7300 square feet (678 square meters), including a conference center.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: 5 star hotel and a great value
Cons: 5 star hotel and a great value. Only complaint was the resturant, that however was not an issue as there are many outstanding resturants within walking distance
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, design, extra bed, hot tub, spa, breakfast option
Cons: Waiting times
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Both Concierge Ladies were always available and gave great recommendations. The property was clean throughout and details were eminent.
Cons: Did not experience any negatives during our stay.
5.0 Okay
Cons: No staff to make the room service. Waited an hour for a breakfast that never came
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, Staff, the texting with the front desk if I had any question or looking for stuff around town. Out door hot tub indoor pool. The size of the room and a few kitchen accessories, fridge microwave.
Cons: The size of the Tub, it was only standard, and at 6.1 i could only sit in it. Maybe it could of been jetted. Maybe a coffee maker and a toaster. Maybe include breakfast and free shuttle back and forth to the airport.
1.0 Poor
Pros: Nothing
Cons: This will perhaps be an eye opener for both booking.com and anyone intending to stay at this monstrous property. I had to drag my own luggage in in the snow since there was no one at the valet desk, I walked into the hotel where two most rude and arrogant front desk personal kept searching for my booking for 30 minutes and would not take my booking reference number, after much unnecessary hassle despite insisting several times that I was using a debit card to pay for my stay the hotel staff ran it as a credit card thrice forcing my bank in UAE to block it, and to add insult to injury they won't admit the mistake, then another new policy dawned upon me that I must pay a 500 deposit for the room which was not mentioned ever on the terms and conditions and when I insisted I would like to now pay in cash, I was told the amount was 1000 dollars instead, moreover since now my debit card blocked , after I told them I'll pay in cash a new policy was announced that if I paid them the deposit in US dollars they would return it back in Canadian dollars which would mean 11 dollars less than the actual market rate for every 100 US dollars, I was then given wrong directions to the nearest money exchange and had to walk in snow in -13 C, and after 45 minutes when I was finally back no body even had the decency of offering me a glass of water let alone a welcome drink, I was given an upgrade to a Chrystal suite from the junior suite from the only 2 human beings in this hotel the manager Vanessa, however to my dismay the 6th floor on which this alleged Chrystal suite was located had construction work happening, which at the time of my check in, was never indicated or even warned about. So 24 hours into my stay I had chalk and paint fumes coming in my room through the ventilation system, because the walls were being sand papered outside and despite my several requests the hotel staff would not shut down the ventilation system outside.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Service, location, comfort, bed, quiet, staff
Cons: Hot water pressure was almost non existent-- in shower, bath, and sink. Staff was ready to help; however, I didn't notice this until late at night on my one night stay. Wouldn't normally be a huge deal but the luxurious bathroom is what made me choose this hotel over two other similar contenders. Additionally, HBO was the only channel that didn't work. Not sure if they advertise having HBO on the website, but it was on the channel guide and didn't have any service.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is near everything in Montreal the staff is super friendly the facilities are amazing
Cons: NA
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Liked everything about the hotel, even down to our son getting to choose a toy from the trolley when we arrived. Comfortable well equipped rooms. Also had a great burger from room service.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was very nice and the place was clean
Cons: Checkin
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Starbucks and restaurant downstairs are excellent. Rooms are spacious and clean. Staff are extremely attentive. Everything was perfect.
7.1 Good
Pros: Lovely rooms, like the hot tub
Cons: It took 1 hour each day for valet to find our car. Restaurant service was insolent, room service brought the wrong mixer drinks and no cutlery and housekeeping just didn't do any cleaning or tidying let alone make the bed until we called at 3 pm.
Hotel Gault - Montreal - Building
5
9.3 Excellent (689 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Hotel Gault in Montreal (Old Montreal), you'll be steps from The Underground City and 4 minutes by foot from Palais des congres de Montreal. Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, a computer station, and complimentary newspapers in the lobby.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was wonderful and super attentive whenever needed. The room was big, modern, and beautiful with a giant bathtub and comfortable king bed. During check in our room included a couple of desserts and a personalized card. It’s only a couple blocks from one of the main streets of Old Town but the street that it is on is quaint and quiet. We loved unwinding each evening with a martini by the fireplace in the library area and the whole lobby area in general is sleek and super attractive. Would definitely stay here again if I make it back up to Montreal.
Cons: It’s such a small thing to point out and didn’t matter to us at all but the TV had very little channels that worked. The guide had hundreds and it seemed like everyone we chose was an add on service, even fairly basic ones like E!, FX, Lifetime, etc. I do think it’s possible to rent DVDs though to watch something but we didn’t bother because we were out and about most of the time.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: My family and I couldn't have been happier staying here. The room was great. Fit the 3 of us just fine. We had a king size bed and the staff brought up a folding twin for my daughter. The bathroom was fantastic. Giant deep tub, glass enclosed shower, and a separate room for the toilet. The bar/lounge/library down stairs was very nice. Their breakfast was fine. The staff was top notch. They are incredibly friendly and so willing to help make your stay memorable. They took care of booking tours, recommending restaurants, and booking our limousine back to the airport. The location in old Montreal couldn't have been better. It's on a quiet little street and just a short walk to everywhere. Next time I go back to Montreal I will be staying here for certain.
Cons: Absolutely nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was a beautiful boutique style hotel in a great location with wonderful staff
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The terrasse rooms are Amazing, such a wonderful view of Montreal’s old port. The contemporary yet extra comfy and warm design is perfectly executed everywhere in this hotel. Wonderful place to stay, i would highly recommend Hotel Gault to anyone travelling to Montreal.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were friendly and professional. The facility was elegant and understated. The room was extremely comfortable.
Cons: Nothing I can think of was dissapointing
4.0 Okay
Pros: Excellent location. Nice modern room, comfortable bed
Cons: There was an event that night that we wasn't informed of in advance. As the event took over the entire main floor we had to go elsewhere for a drink and dinner. When we returned from dinner, the event was in full swing with lots of people getting pretty drunk. We escaped to our room only to be woken up several times during the night from a lot of noise caused by other guests. Slamming doors, running in the halls, screaming. My wife isn't one to complain so we suffered through it. In reflection, for the price of a single night ($350) I wish I would have pursued a discount or something. In addition, i didn't find the staff overly helpfull in finding nearby parking (I won't use valet as I've had a vehicle damaged in the past in Quebec City). Also I was looking for a Cigar shop and they didn't help at all. I had to find my own locations with my phone.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Enjoyed the European somewhat exclusive feel of the hotel, , with spacious rooms and a nice design. The staff were very friendly and helpful
Cons: Upon check in there was some kind of children's birthday party in which the parents let the children run around yelling in the lobby bar and restaurant. A bit off putting.
Le Mount Stephen - Montreal - Building
6
9.3 Excellent (265 reviews)
Overview Reviews
A stay at Le Mount Stephen places you in the heart of Montreal, steps from Sainte-Catherine Street and The Underground City. Featured amenities include limo/town car service, express check-out, and dry cleaning/laundry services. Planning an event in Montreal? This hotel has facilities measuring 5000 square feet (465 square meters), including conference space. A roundtrip airport shuttle is available for a surcharge.
5.0 Okay
Cons: They advertise that there is a shuttle service which is misleading. It is a limo that charges twice what a direct limo from the airport does. The food, room and service are average. 4star at best. Definately overpriced. Try the well known hotels instead.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Proposed to my girlfriend the weekend of our stay. The hotel was very helpful in setting up several surprises that really made the day special. They were very attentive and always available. The entire property is immaculate and impressive from the moment you enter. I would recommend to anyone for any occasion but especially if you want to make an impression or stay somewhere unique and filled with character.

Cons: I left my ring in the room and when I called back they said it was not found. Too many steps! I would only recommend to certain people.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were amazing and the property itself was a beautiful combination of old and new. The room was wonderful, the gym was modern and well equipped and we really enjoyed the on-site bar. Location cannot be best!
Cons: I wasn’t a huge fan of the breakfast nor the two staff who were serving it. Substitutions were made without advising us first and we were not offered more coffee.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The suite was magnificent The restaurant featuring classic British cuisine was excellent. Beef Wellington to die for!
Cons: The shower doors leak terribly on to the bathroom floor. A quick fix is in order. The poor Toto Washlet toilet is never sure if you're coming or going!
6.0 Good
Pros: This is a beautiful building with wonderful decor. The rooms are very nice and the bed was super comfortable.
Cons: So much effort went into being "chic" and "modern" that it was an effort to do anything: unintuitive bathroom tap controls; lights, curtains, & blinds controlled by buttons requiring reading glasses. Also, auto toilet seat was just creepy.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Whoah what an amazing experience. The only thing that outshines the beauty of this historic gem is the incredible service. We will stay here every time we visit Montreal in the future.
Cons: There wasn’t anything we didn’t enjoy during this stay.

The concierge secured us a dinner reservation at a place that was booked solid. You also can't beat the location. Right by shopping, restaurants and Bell Centre.

Pros: Location
Cons: Staff weren’t very engaging
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was great. Everything was clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
Cons: The water in the shower could have been warmer (it was not bad, just not super hot) and the breakfast essentially only consisted of bread (again, it was good, just more variety could have been better).
8.3 Excellent
Pros: I loved the huge shower in the bathroom! I also loved how spacious my room was! Staff was very kind and helpful!
Cons: I didn’t like the limited amount of closet space, the breakfast wasn’t anything special. Had trouble with the room key that activates the elevator quite often! Wish there was room service and maybe even a downstairs bar!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Room was big and comfortable. Great cleaning service
Cons: Wish I could have stayed longer!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location cannot be beat, close to the Vieux Port, the Bell Centre, St. Catherine's Street, the Quartier Latin, as well as public transportation. The price is excellent. Clean, large rooms, with comfortable beds.
Cons: The breakfast was adequate, especially considering it is included, but could definitely have been better.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, close to Place d'Armes metro station, walkable to Vieux Montreal. Modern rooms with great windows, nice bathroom, and comfortable bed.
Cons: The included breakfast was a low-point in the stay. The hotel, like most of the city while we were there, was under construction, which diminished the overall feel and appearance.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel room, position
Cons: Breakfast could be better. Parking not easy

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The heated pool on the second floor was lovely, it made our stay extra special. Especially sitting in it whilst the snow came down. The extra large bed and the extra large bath tub in the rooms made for a perfect stay!
Cons: The receptionist checking us in could have been a little more helpful. He didn’t look at me once, called me over to the desk and immediately took a phone call. Breakfast was 30 mins late and although I ordered the eggs, sausage and bacon came too. I’m vegetarian so this might be a welcome surprise for some, but it wasn’t for me. We also had no butter for the toast and white bread came instead of brown. All this and a 18% service charge was automatically taken without us having the chance to even question it.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel has such a wonderful interior as is such a statement-setting glass exterior. The suite was very spacious and comfortable for the best night's sleep. Modern-day aesthetic has been very pleasant to see! The staff have been very attentive to my needs and have gone the extra mile to save my life as a DJ by providing me a cable that I had forgotten -- usually, the cable is not something you would easily "whip out of a storage room."
Cons: The parking lot was really tight. This should come as a warning to those who drive a long vehicle, such as a Chevrolet Suburban, because, despite whatever turning radius, your vehicle may rub into a column and, in turn, can do extensive damage to the vehicle body.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing and very helpful staff! Beautiful spacious room and close to everything.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the service and the pool area
Cons: I did not like how there wasn’t an actual bathroom just a closet like toilet and a sink in the middle of my room.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Nespresso in-room
5.0 Okay
Cons: I never saw a room I got stuck at home because of the railroad blockade. Because the room rate was a special price I am disallowed credit or refund
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is in perfect location what is the most important when we travel. Bed was comfy, our room and other spaces clean, food tasty and the staff...The staff was AMAZING! Me and my husband travel a lot and I mean a lot (few trips to Europe and several trips in US) and this was the friendliest staff we have ever experienced. Every single person, we tried to think about anyone who wasn’t and nope-they are all amazing. Our favorite was James (waiter at the restaurant) such nice and very knowledgeable gentleman. Will definitely come back!!!
Cons: Parking should be included in the room price plus breakfast was a bit pricey for a simple bufete.

Pros: I love how modern the facilities are. And the bed and the sheets are so comfy.
Cons: It’s a bit far , but I love to walk around and transportation is everywhere
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Though our room availability was delayed an hour, Chris took care of us from the moment we got there to include re-arranging our Valentines dinner reservations. We had an awesome view from our room & the coffee bar was perfect.
Cons: We’re quite particular about the cleanliness of our room & while it was good, there was evidence it could have been better.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location and room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. The view was beyond beautiful. I had the best suite and every time that I will go to Montreal, I will book my room there.
Cons: There is nothing that I didn't like. It was a wonderful stay and very cozy.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! Amazing customer service, amazing rooms and the bar was a lot of fun. A great boutique hotel for when you are in Montreal you definitely need to stay there!
Cons: There is nothing that I didn't like. I decided to extend my stay for my business trip and they met every part of my necessities and even went beyond my expectations. GREAT TEAM!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean, fast elevator, comfortable.
Cons: They do not offer water to those who take the basic room and you cannot even request for them to bring the water to your room and charge you for it. I've never been to a hotel that did not have complimentary water and to refuse me offering to pay extra to have it brought to my room. The valet service is expensive and extremely slow. I ended up getting my car myself. If you use the valet service request your car a long time before you plan to leave.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property was central to a lot of the activities and sights we attended. We were able to walk to most of them. The room was modern and very comfy to stay in. The blackout automatic curtains, and comfy bed made for a good sleep. We enjoyed the robot service very much.
Cons: The one thing I can think of that was missing was an activities room. We were hoping for an opportunity to hang out and play pool for example.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Easy checkin/checkout. Able to put a bottle of wine for us in the room ahead of time.
Cons: Technology for TV's was hard to use and unresponsive.

Pros: It's was really close to the Metro and made it really easy to get into Montreal. The rooms were clean and modern equipped with Apple TV and a Keurig machine.
Cons: So for some reason my booking didn't include breakfast, yet in the room info book it said breakfast was included. For $20 more we could add the breakfast but it wasent worth it for us. We just went across the street to the Tim Hortons and had breakfast for under $20 and over 3,000 cal.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We wanted a property near Montreal and near the highway to Quebec City. This B&B was ideal in that regard. The room was comfortable and breakfast was delicious.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The facilities are good, we xan use kitchen.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was a very pleasant stay in a very original room - a bit like a lovely dollhouse - in a small old house on a calm street and hosted by a charming and cheerful old lady. The location is perfect for trips to Montréals downtown as it can be reached after 15-20min walks to either a station of a ferry boat or a Metro station. And the price for this nice accommodation was very reasonable and more than worth the money. Free parking was possible on the street and also the shared bathroom was nothing to worry about as it was very clean and tidy.
Cons: There was nothing to complain about for this nice lovely accommodation.
8.8 Excellent
Cons: Only complaint is that it was quite hot in the room. There was a ceiling fan but the air did not circulate very much what with the small window.
9.6 Excellent
Cons: The bed was on an incline and was lumpy but other than that the stay was excellent!
5.4 Okay
Cons: The bed frame and floor was very creaky. There were spiders in the room. It didn't come with breakfast and it's not in a convenient location. The stairs is very steep.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Easy to get in and out of Montréal.
7.0 Good
Pros: The writing on the wall says, "be the artist of your own life." Over the four poster bed is a photograph of Walt Whitman. The bed is big but hard. I slept well but woke up with hip/back pain. The bathtub is full size and stocked with full size bottles of soap, shampoo, conditioner. The cuisinart coffee maker does not work but I managed to make a cup of coffee with it, the coffee provided is good quality. The tea assortment is thoughtful and the kettle is the same as in Istanbul, that is an electric water boiler. The owner, Louise, is gracious and kind. She has a Shitzu, a quiet dog that walks around freely inside wearing red decorations in her ears, like doggy earrings. My dog, not much larger in size, growls and barks at the Shitzu, he has a thing for Shitzus. At the desk is a photo of Chilean poet and Nobel Laureate Gabriela Mistral. Victor Hugo's photo covers a hole in the wall. The building was haunted according to Alexander, the 29 year old son of Louise, a truly gracious hostess who speaks little English. Alexander helped me with my bags (unlike Super8 in Peterborough). 8-9% of Quebequois are Anglophiles or native English speakers, so 9 out of 10 people here only speak French. Alexander speaks fluent English, and he says the family hired an exorcist to get rid of the ghost. It felt to me as soon as I walked in, that someone had been murdered here, a domestic dispute, man and woman, still feels that way. It is certainly full of old stuff.
Cons: It is not accessible for disabled, the original room I reserved was up a narrow twisted stairway with no elevator/lift. The floors are not even, there are steps between rooms that are difficult to see.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The old building was very nice to look at. It had all the modern amenities but you could still see the old structure. The lady running it was very nice and the breakfast was very good.
Cons: Unfortunately I was a bit too tall for the bed which is made for normal people.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The host was super kind, and the room was so clean and cozy.
Cons: Nothing

9.0 Excellent
Pros: location and set up
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent customer service from the staff. Matress extremely comfortable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The price was very inexpensive.
Cons: Maid service was not consistent.
6.0 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: Noise
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The service was fantastic! Upon arrival, a maid noticed that we speak spanish and she enthusiastically greeted us and wished for a wonderful new year! I asked for a fan because we needed some white noise to sleep. The staff was a bit surprised but bent backwards to provide it. Housekeeping was available on Jan-1, which doesn't happen very often. These are the details that make for a great stay.
Cons: There was a new year's eve party. In a previous stay in this hotel (around the same time, four years ago) we were informed upon check-in, but not during this stay. The party and the noise started very early (around 6:30 pm), but we left at 9 so at the peak of the celebrations we were not in there. We came back around 2 am and it was over. Be mindful of this if you're booking for new year's eve!
5.0 Okay
Cons: The pillos and covers were full of dust
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Noisy due to snow removal all night across the street at Pratt and Whitney
Cons: Noisy
4.0 Okay
Pros: Bien situé et secrétaire Super bon lit et choix d’ore
Cons: Les chambres auraient besoin de reno
7.0 Good
Pros: Most staff was friendly and helpful except one nightshift very rude receptionist
Cons: Your night time front desk receptionist was very rude and disrespectful. I went few times thru an automatic front door to check if our taxi arrived. That rude man told me to "stop going back and forth because the cold air comes in and this is causing him feeling cold". Imagine he put his comfort over comfort of paid hotel's guests... Totally unacceptable and I brought it up to attention of manager on duty. That employee should be disciplined for his obnoxious behaviour.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, clean. An older Holiday Inn that has been kept up to date.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean
Cons: No free breakfast.
7.1 Good
Pros: Staff is always courteous.
Cons: The hotel was hosting late night parties on the main floor with night club music thumping until 12am. Half the items in my room were shaking from the bass. With 3 kids and myself unable to get any sleep due to the ridiculously loud thumps, I complained to the front desk, only to have them close the doors to the club venue. Needless to say, nothing stopped until the night ended. I had the worst sleep to date at this Holiday Inn. The following morning, I checked back with the front desk about plans for other parties and was told they were having a repeat of the same thing the following night. The best they could do was change my room to a higher floor, but given the layout and design of this hotel, it wouldn't have made a difference with the noise and bass thumping. We decided to check out that morning instead of going through another sleepless night. After being a usual client of this hotel, I won't be coming back again. It was very disappointing to cancel our stay mid-weekend and to look for pricier alternatives just so we could get a good night's rest. I'm also not pleased that as a guest, I was not informed of the series of dance parties that would potentially be problematic for overnight guests. I'm absolutely certain that every guest at the hotel felt the same way that night. I will be writing the hotel management a direct letter concerning a refund.

Pros: Location
Cons: There’s nothing that i don’t like
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Right next to the subway stop for easy access to downtown Montreal
Cons: Not very much of a neighborhood around
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Across the street from metro station. Made getting around Montreal very easy. Staff was courteous and helpful. Overall excellent experience.
Cons: The rooms could have had a refrigerator and microwave but not a huge deal
5.0 Okay
Pros: I made sure to reserve a hotel with a pool, but the pool was closed. Big disappointment for the kids during the holidays. Plus, I asked from in the top levels with the best view for the fireworks, which cost me more, but we couldn't see anything from the room!! Money send right in the drain :(
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The subway (metro) was right next door. We would leave the hotel ( paid $13.75 each) for the weekend pass to ride as much as we wanted. We went stop by stop and explored, one stop brought us right into a huge mall.english & French. Staff top notch
Cons: rif raf outside (but felt safe). no outside quiet area.(roof or courtyard)
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very close to the subway system. Quick access to Old Montreal. Free Parking. Great value.
Cons: Showing a little wear and tear but still a very nice hotel.
6.0 Good
Pros: I really enjoyed the breakfast buffet & the location by the metro station was very convenient.
Cons: No bottle opener in the room so we called down to desk & were told that we'd have to come down & open each bottle @ the front. Once @ the desk we were told to go into the bar but the bartender was not impressed & looked @ us as if we were asking for something extraordinary. Finally went back to desk & a pleasant staff member provided us with an opener (that we couldn't take back to our room).
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: The hotel is outdated. The room looked old. We understand Quebec is French but the hotel is catering to international clients who don’t want to watch French channels. The TV shows were mauve. After leaving a Hilton hotel to go to the Sandman it was very disappointing.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff is highly professional, the room is very clean with a neutral but nice decor, the facilities are great, the location is perfect with a free parking and right beside the metro (1 minute walk), very close to downtown, and plenty of options nearby for services, the price is ok, the view from the room was amazing overlooking the cityscape,
Cons: The restaurant/bar is closed during the Holidays, the pool was being renovated during my stay
9.1 Excellent
Pros: I was completely happy here. It was fine & all was as promised. Metro station directly across the st was very convenient!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff and amazing location!
Cons: Odd smell to the room but very clean!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The restaurant was closed during the Christmas/New Year Holiday so cannot rate.
Cons: The pool was closed for renovations which was annoying because that was part of the reason for the stay but really no big deal in the scheme of things.
