Clean room and convenient location. Nice common areas. Mostly friendly and helpful staff. The best price for the overpriced area. This location has under gone a half hearted renovation. The price doesn't match the quality. The layout of the property is odd and there are no rooms with good views. Some of the furniture is banged up. The water temperature is difficult to control in the sinks. Sewer gas smells would come from the bathroom drains at night. Lower levels can hear movement from upper levels.
Good location and staff was very accommodating.
My friends and I liked the location of the Cadillac Hotel. Right on the beach, and a 20min walk to the Santa Monica Pier. I don't think the price is worth it. I would only base the price on the location. I found that the staff were not knowledgable on the nightlife in L.a (especially). Considering there are younger adults that would like to go out and party a few nights. I feel that the staff should warn their guests about the area in the evenings. It isn't very safe, esp if you are alone. There isn't enough parking to accommadate all their guests. I found it a bit of an inconvience to have the sink and the toilet in separate rooms.
Staff really helpful and friendly. Hotel and room spotlessly clean and comfortable. Generally good room facilities. Good cafe and restaurant opposite hotel. Santa Monica 5 minutes walk away. Beach 2 minutes away. Regular public transport into Santa Monica Centre - can walk along coast to SM - about 20-30 mins. Not really. Just found it odd that the hotel had all other facilities in the room except tea/coffee making. After a 20 hour journey from UK this could have been a disaster, but I did check with hotel before leaving and bought a kettle at Heathrow! Management have said they hope to have this put right in the near future - I shall be checking!!! The only other thing was that late at night the hotel frontage was so dimly lit and no street lights - not very inviting - that I wondered if I was in the right place - but the staff inside made up for that and despite this I would certainly stay here again.
Great hotel. We turned up at 11am and got checked into our room straight away. The room was clean and had comfortable beds (a luxury after 2 weeks staying in hostels). Hotel staff were helpful and polite.
I got a view of the beach from my room which was amazing! needs more toiletries and small things like a notepad and pen and info about what there is to do in Venice and santa monica in the hotel rooms. More pillows.
Small hotel but great area 47 rooms 18 parking spaces
Only that it was on the beach......................... No parking onsite, no air conditioner, rooms were not as clean as should be ( m&m's under the bed), no screens on the windows,..................................
people were extremely professional and friendly. place excellent. good for vacation.room essential.
very helpful staff, they know the area and places to see
Brayant was extremely helpful and friendly
The location is absolutely perfect, if you're after Venice Beach. Venice is certainly not for everyone and is a little edgy, but I loved it. I stayed in two different rooms during my stay and saw another one and it is true what the owners say - they have completely renovated every room. The rooms were very comfortable and the views are amazing. There is a little outside noise, but nothing that kept me awake at night. All in all I give it a 10 out of 10. Slight outdoor noise, but really nothing too bad.
Location was excellent - fronts on Venice Beach and bike path. New renovation and design was excellent. Bathroom design is spacious, functional and attractive. We liked the secure storage for our touring bicycles. Restaurants and cafes nearby. No air conditioning. This wasn't a problem but it could be when it is hot .
Right on the beach, great staff, restaurants and bars within walking distance. The downside of being ON Venice Beach is the screaming homeless outside your Windows at all hours. Also, the hotel walls are THIN. Not the place to stay for a good night's sleep
I can't begin to find words to express how much we enjoyed our stay at the Marina del Rey Ritz Carlton! We arrived on a Wednesday morning with a sick child. The staff immediately took charge helping to get us situated with a room and going so far above and beyond ensuring that our stay was enjoyable. From the person who greeted us to take our luggage, to the valet, to the front desk staff to the wait staff in the restaurant and the gift shop (which opened up for us to get us meds in the middle of the night) to the manager who followed up even after we had left their hotel, every layer was kind, attentive and fantastic! They honestly made us feel like we were at home with family who was concerned about us. What a fantastic experience! T
the location room service food. the french soup was disgusting. There was also no glasses in the room. time it took to get the food valet parking took 15 mins to get our car
Hotel staff was outstanding; from valet, front desk & concierge all the way through to pool attendants, room service and bell desk.
Marina Totality , needs upgraded , bathrooms , amenities , need more restaurants .
I like the avalibiliy of the staff For a younger crowd in there 25-30 age it's not an appeasing hotel it's more for older crowd like 50-60 so for me being a pro Olympic athlete and being 23 yrs old I didn't enjoy it that much
Staff is great, and generally a very nice hotel. Doesn't live up to our expectations based on previous experiences at other Ritz hotels. It feels tired, not as luxurious as others, and is starting to show some age without upkeep. A simple example would be the pool has cracked tiles and feels rundown.
Ambiance was great from the beachy/sea vibe in the lobby with the "flying" seagull sculptures hanging from the ceiling a wonderful scent machine in the lobby that makes you feel like you are at the beach. Very romantic setting at the outside bar complete with couches and fire pits. Beds were super comfortable. $30/day for valet parking is a bit steep when there is plenty of parking around the hotel. Give an option for people to park their own cars, even if you have to charge a fee.
The remodel is first class. The front desk service was fine. The dining was terrible. Slow inattentive service, overdone steak, raw salmon, overpriced.
My husband and I had a fabulous stay at the Marina del Rey Hotel. Our room had a amazing view of the marina, was very well appointed and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to that part of LA.
Vibrant lounge with a nice view of the marina. $30 valet only parking option!! Weird odor in the room
We loved the view, facilities, great beds and location of the hotel. No complaints.
The service and staff were great - hotel is very nice!
Room was nice and clean Parking for $37, valet only was a rip-off!
Service Rooms not ready for check in
Parking fee not included in stay
We enjoyed how knowledgeable the person working the front desk was about the stay. We enjoyed that they had free internet and affordable parking ($12 - with unlimited entries). The hotel was very nice and kept together well and in a nice neighborhood. Within walking distance there is a beautiful mall with nice restaurant choices and shopping opportunities. There is a gas station next door and it is a straight shot (less than 15 minutes) to the airport. There was very little to complain about at this hotel. We were hoping for an included continental breakfast but it seems many places in LA didn't have that. The rooms were slightly small but still lovely and good for sleeping which is all we wanted it for anyway. (It should be noted that it still had a mini-fridge/coffee pot, lounge chair, desk, and TV). The walls are a little thin but we always take earplugs to hotels anyway because you never know what to expect.
The check in and out was quick. The staff was polite and helpful. The hotel is shabby. The carpet in the room was old and worn and the look of the room was tired. The bed was comfortable. There was an annoying low buzz sound all night coming from a corner of the room. Every time I used the sink the drain stunk.
The king-size bed was very comfy and warm. The hotel does not stock any tampons or pads? It seems like this would be a necessary courtesy item. For the price, it would also be nice to have had complimentary breakfast, as I've had this at hotels that were not as expensive.
Room 505 smelled of vomit and bed was lopsided, old and uncomfortable. was switched to 305 which was much better and was given free breakfast which we never used overall a notch below nearby courtyard marriott
Everything was great except I feel it was a little over priced by 25%. The price was a little high
Place was clean. Plenty of towels and hand cloths provided. They left a coffee maker with coffee Beans but I couldn't make it because there was no coffee filter. There was plenty of trash cans which was good but no trash bags in any of them. Also they decided to wake us up at 8am just to ask us when we were checking out. Why couldn't they come knock at 11 when that's the check out time.
Easy check-in/check-out. The bathroom, especially the sink area was too small.
The staff was nice and helpful despite a nightmare experience . I found a bedbug in my bed and it was a total nightmare. I would never stay here again and would warn everyone to avoid this place. I didn't sleep at all and had to clean all my luggage and launder all my clothes before returning home. Stay away!
Sheraton brand did not ensure a quality experience. Have stayed in other Sheraton's that maintain high quality I've come to expect. No food service available after 10pm. Security gate to parking lot prevented me from being dropped off and picked up at front door. Can hear noise from hallway /neighboring rooms because of thin walls. Felt like I was in an inexpensive hotel for spring breakers. Much better options available in the surrounding area at competitive prices. Definately will NOT recommend or stay there in the future.
Staff was friendly, courteous, helpful and did everything they could to make my stay comfortable. My room was upgraded after initial inconvenience of being sent to a room that was not made up. I didn't have hot water the first day, but that was fixed. Frig is big. I was given complimentary breakfasts for my inconvenience. Breakfast was okay, lots of carbs (bread, toast, pastries), fresh fruit minimal and not that fresh. Omlettes and cooked food was good, and I was immediately brought orange juice and coffee/tea.
Great location, very new, and very nice staff! Perfect place in Venice.
Miguel was fabulous and helped us in many ways, he went above and beyond. The entire staff was friendly and helpful The music on the roof did keep us up, and the ear plugs cost money
Hotel Erwin is perfectly located on Venice beach, the staff is excellent, restaurant serves excellent breakfasts, nothing to complain about.
The hotel is realy gret. Great staff, wonderful instalations..... So I really could live there. The price and the cost to park, once the garage is inside the building of the hotel.
It was close and convenient to my son who lives in Venice. Stayed there in Dec. in the newer rooms on the top floor which was much nicer than the room I had this time. Also, I think the 6th. floor room was about the same price as the room where I was this time.(5th floor) Yes, I opened the sliding door during the night for some fresh air. It was difficult to sleep because of the noise(homeless sleeping in the alley) that my room overlooked.
We loved the new and greatly designed rooms, as well as the young atmosphere of the hotel. The rooftop bar will take off - it is a great place. We will be back! The staff needs some more time together to make everything run smoothly. But they were always very nice and friendly - thanks for a great time with you!
Was given great upgrade; rooftop is fantastic Absolutely everything was great!
I've stayed here before for a few days - great location and generally a very good place to stay. However the room was a bit musty when I entered - not enough for me to want a new oom but noticeable. Facilities are OK - bathroom very cosy though. Would definetly stay again.
The pillows and bed were excellent. Made for a refreshing stay.
It was charming, room and bed comfortable with a deck overlooking pool. Im fussy and i found it a pleasant experience quiet, clean and relaxing. Staff excellent and a short walk to beach, handy to shops and restaurants.
Nice staff, pretty garden , I reccomend bungalows, good restaurants. Very good localization near ocean but also close to schopping places. I reccomend this hotel.
The location to the sea.Very attractive forecourt.Very attentive staff especially bell boys. The room was very spacious and had a good view to the sea. Far too expensive to park car at hotel.Should have been coffee-making facilities in the room.Very surprised as all the other hotels we have stayed at in the States have this and should be standard in a hotel of this standing.
excellent position, very good staff, clean, nice
Nothing Horrible housekeeping Late food arrival Couldn't get in touch with room service Cold shower Creepy placd
I was really impressed with the price of this hotel, the food was fantastic and the location was great.
The bed was unbelievably good.
Lobby and common areas are fine/good. Illy espresso maker in room is good. Free parking was nice and offered glass of sparkling wine on arrival. Stuck us in a room that was like a prison cell with a Queen bed. King room was paid for and others were open. Shower barely allowed me to turn around and did not have a ledge for soap/toiletries so had to leave those on the ground. Also right next to an elevator bank. Room was not exactly clean either, mainly in the bathroom. Absolutely unacceptable. Highly disappointed because it was not cheap.
Classy design of the hotel. Would have liked a DVD player in the room
Did not lume anything. Lots of disssapointments First of all very very dirty hotel. Carpet not even vacuum and very dirty. Very small restroom. No minibar. The mezzanine restaurant closed at 10 and was very small. Waiters and valet parking guys nearly speaks English. Low cost employees and very unfriendly. Way too expensive hotel. Ugly expeirence.
The views were excellent. The towels and robes were excellent. The ambiance was nice. The bed was really comfortable, I fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow. The toiletries (soap, lotion) were insufficient, of inferior quality. The walls were paper thin, we could hear every conversation, every cough from next door and in the hallway, although we were on a starwood preferred guest floor.
The beds were so comfy and inviting. The staff was very professional and kind. Free parking. Very nice stay We had no complaints.
The location, parking facility, good service including business assistance with computer, The room change with rate change was not recorded so I was overcharged and had to fix this at check out, this caused a delay and unnecessary hassle.
The service desk was very helpful and generous. The hotel is in a good location and has a cool aesthetic. LM 100 smells awesome.
Nice that they had free bikes available for use. Nice decor. Nice staff. Decent location, but not much within walking distance unless you are ok walking more than a half mile. Bikes are not available when it's dark out.
Great café/bar room in mezzanine. Terrific customer service. Bicycles available without rental fee.
Lovely, fresh interior. Friendly staff/ Our room was adjacent to the fitness center and someone was weight lifting (and dropping) heavy weights at 6:30 a.m. I thought gun shots were going off.
The hotel was conveniently located near the beach and restaurants. Hotel rented out pool area for private Lincoln event so guests had no access to entire outdoor pool area for all of Saturday, which was a big appeal of this hotel. Rundown with duct tape on the hallway carpets. They overcharged me for a number of items.
Very quiet and well appointed rooms. Nice pool area. Difficult to get staff help after late arrival. Surcharge for 'coffee service' seems lame given hotel class.
Rooms are well thought out. I wish that the cafe in the lobby would have more options.
love the Viceroy feel, decor and spaciousness. The bathroom was not quite as large as the Viceroy in Miami, but nice nonetheless. great water pressure too! the TV on the wall was massive, perhaps the largest I've ever seen in a hotel room. Was quite surprised there is no coffee whatsoever in the room. While they offer 'free' coffee from an urn in the lobby to guests, you still have to get dressed and go down the elevator to get. Miami room had an espresso machine; that should be standard.
The intimacy of the hotel - it is private and feels far less commercial than the larger international hotels.
Staff was very friendly and helpful! Construction noise made sleeping difficult.
Nice staff. Neat building. Little expensive. Great food.
The hotel is very welcoming and and has an overall relaxed vibe. excellent location. it's very vintage in its deco look, but well maintained. you feel like you've stepped back in time. quite charming. and, the staff is very gracious without being intrusive. I actually have no negatives. my experience was ideal!
Everything The constant noise on the backside of the hotel, probably some type of generator.
I've now stayed at The Georgian twice. It feels like a home away from home. I love it! The staff is courteous and kind. The accommodations were lovely. The all-day food service was very convenient (and delicious). The proximity to shops and restaurants, the beach and pier is impressively walk-able. And the view is incredible!
Excellent location with a strong own atmosphere and beautiful location
Location General aesthetic of hotel The stupid snack and mini bar set-up... Too much stuff around the room. I don't want to be bombarded with things to buy when I'm in a private room.
Had the charm of an old classic hotel, yet the rooms were fully updated and quite comfortable. Great small hotel feeling. Close to the pier, shopping, and dining options Just hate paying for parking, yet you are right in the middle of Santa Monica. Just an pet peeve, not a negative for the hotel.
Location. Friendly staff. Unique, charming building. Taxes, fees, and parking added ~$100 to an already-pricey room. We were also somehow billed for minibar purchases we did not make.
Location, cosy feel, helpful staff Bathroom felt a bit dated (but it was perfectly adequate), no reply to an email query I sent following my stay
A very good hotel in the right location There was nothing i didn't like about this hotel
Loved the location, style of the room, staff. Pretty much everything about the HOtel appeals to our style. So glad we found this, we'll always make a preference to stay here while we're in LA.
The location is fantastic They mention breakfast however it is only donuts and coffee/tea/juice
Relaxing, eating out, enjoying the ocean view, and people watching, local characters
We like the location on the beach. The sheets were not clean, there were somebodies hair on them and black spots as well. The towels were not clean either. we thought someone had used them before. The room and bathroom was more than small. We could open our two suitcases one by one.The breakfast was not existing only one packed danish pastrie and bad coffee and the terrace was extremely dirty with dirty ashtrays and the only armchair was so filthy that we preferred to stand.
great location, though there is not much to do in the area except of the sea. stuff ok, but nothing really special. The sink was blocked, the towels were stained, and a headboard had very strange stains. Would not stay again.
very friendly staff
perfect location-cozy room- great staff -- I would definately stay there everytime I go to Venice
Twenty steps to the sand!! Ceiling fans would have been nice.
The owner/manager/host was delightful and helpful. We didn't like having to sleep on the box springs without a mattress on top,and deal with the sink that wouldn't drain.
Nice private room with outstanding view of the beach. Easy walk to Venice restaurants and general wackiness tat is Venice.
Good location, nice pool and open dining space Friend staffs None
lovely room but we upgraded and the pool are and roof top very nice. Our only concern were the staff who didnt really have a clue apart from the bell boy and valets. Wake up calls always 15 -30 mins late/fridge didnt get replenished unless we asked
Santa Monica is the best place to stay in LA for pleasure, and for business travelers with a little extra time for commute. The Shangri-La is the hippest, best place on the water. We've stayed at Shutters and Casa del Mar - eaten at Viceroy. Shangri La beats them all. authentic updated Art Deco, great size, pool, rooftop bar with view of the Santa Monica pier and beach. No question - the go-to place in LA . The New York Times Travel Section agrees. And this is not paid or sponsored - I am a real person - stayed with my daughter on her school break. Loved it! Anne We had to leave
Good location, friendly staff, clean room A bit expensive
location very central and just had major face lift really noisy at night - great if you are a party animal!
Location, decor, staff and double bath n/a
The hotel was beautiful & the staff was very friendy. The food was very good & the location was perfect for our honeymoon.
online it told me that the pool and bar would be open. Felt deceived!!! Bathroom door was broken, dirt in the bathtub, too much light in the AM, workers making lots of noise at 8am to fix pool area, bar on roof and pool not open even though it said it was online and that was the whole reason to go there. Took my boyfriend for 40th and highly disappointed. I was embarrassed!!!!!
The city was cleaning a parking garage opposite of the hotel during the night for two nights in a row, which was extremely noisy, therefore I checked out after two nights. I had a small room without a desk an therefore I think $300 per night was too much.
All the Art Deco features. Its a beautifully renovated hotel. We booked the Deluxe room because it was a bigger room & couldnt really fault it. The bathroom has a big bath tub in it & the room is full of Art Deco detail. Hotel staff were extremly friendly & helpful. Hotel is right across from the beach therefore great views. If you have time go up to the rooftop bar. Great views. No water provided in the rooms. Internet facilities for people that dont have a laptop arnt that convenient. Internet is only free for the first 15 min & then you need to pay. Only one computer available right in the lobby no no real privacy either, very distracting. The hotel room rates are a little pricy but we enjoyed our stay.
They did not have our reservation when we checked in; after calling twice to confirm. During those two calls, I was put on hold for thirty minutes the first time and eight minutes the second time..finally, they confirmed. Yet, upon arrival, they did not have our reservation and I had to check my confirmation email on my phone to prove it. No "sorry" gifts/amenities were given.
The hotel decor was pretty sterile. The Viceroy across the street was much more esthetically pleasing. The pool was ok, not great. The coffee bar was under staffed and looked temporary. Good for location. Staff cheerful, but not what I expected.
Everyone went above and beyond to make the stay comfortable.
I didn't like anything about this place. There was construction everywhere that we weren't aware. The wifi ID/passwords did not work. Both beds in the room were old and lopsided. The room card did not work, after we left the room and returned we couldn't get back into the room.
was close to business. mint candy that near broke a tooth. arrived near 1 pm was told to come back at 2pm without even checking tosee if there might be a room ready. . did not receive a vovchure to restaurant next door.'guty at front desk was somewhay rude.
The receptionist was very kind and helpful The furniture was not in the best shape
Proximity to the airport The room was outdated, smelled and needed a clean. The hallways were gloomy and the noise echoed loudly.
I liked the fact that it is close to the airport and has a shuttle. It was quiet at night and I had a goodnight rest, which is why I was there. Hotel is quite run down and needs remodel. Old furniture all around, as well bath tub, sink, carpets etc…. The hotel looks very dirty and I was wondering if the sheets would be even clean…I smelled them bunch of times…got me paranoid….I think they were… Bathroom didn't feel clean, didn't feel too good. Bath tub didn't close, so I wasn't able to take a bath, which is fine since there is a drought right now. I wouldn't stay there again, because of the rundown and cleanliness.
Location, close to 405 and LAX. Room lacked a fridge, microwave. Only had 2 ice machines in the whole building. Pool was dirty, no hot tub. Room was dirty, according unit leaked water onto carpet while it was on.
The staff were very helpful with a last minute booking. Nice to get discount at Denny's down the street. Friendly and helpful staff. No towels in room when we checked in. False fire alarm in the middle of the night.
No towels were available when we requested. Yellow debris left in the tub
The staff is very friendly. I got the same courtesy as I would have gotten from a 4 star hotel. Best part of my stay. When I got into my room there was still trash from the previous guest. I don't think the floor was vacuumed because when I was walking around the room barefoot my soles were covered in dirt. The bathtub was clogged and took some time to drain.
Nothing Everything Had trash can in middle of room to catch water dropping from ceiling During the night got up to use bathroom Slipped my shoes on Carpet was wet around trash can catching the leaks So I slipped when my shoes hit the tile in bathroom Very unsafe Not too good
Can't describe correctly without expletives. Seriously w.t.f.???? Everything
