Pros: Staff was super friendly and excellent with my younger son. No need to watch him entirely. Great location if you're just doing what we did and stopping due to a flight stop over anyways. Just stayed two nights.
Cons: If I was deliberately going to Fiji, I would want to stay at a place with a nicer beach. Denarau is a man made island, (although beautifully done; reclaimed swamp land), so the ocean looks muddy. While the main beds in the room were comfortable and had lots of pillows, the sofa bed was the most uncomfortable sofa bed I have ever slept on!

Pros: I found some small ants near the water pot & reported to the hotel. Needs to do some deep cleaning. For us over 60 & my brother sisters over 70, it would be better to have rooms on the ground floor or have elevator to the 2nd floor.

Pros: Our room was spectacular. The food was good and the staff was wonderful.
Cons: My only complaint about this property is that if you are looking for clear water and white sandy beaches....do not stay here or anywhere on Denarau Island. Nobody goes in the murky, nasty water and only a few people venture out on to the beach for any time. It is a lot of very nice resorts with great pools and that is where everyone stays. Not what I was looking for in paradise. This is not a knock on the property itself, just its location.

Pros: I liked the room as it was very spacious and private. Not overly packed with travellers and good place to begin with if you are going to islands on the next day. The staff were very friendly and always smile and ready for what you need. Didn't have any trouble with getting what we want.
Cons: However, the restaurant wasn't up to par against the service of the hotel. Food was served very slowly and waiting for our brunch took 30-40 mins. Even before that on another occasion, waiting for our $10 change took 20 mins and delayed our next destination's timing. The staff didn't even apologize and didn't look sorry about it. Food choices were limited if you are at this hotel so be prepared for it with some other food ready if you want to be a happy camper for the food at the restaurant.

Cons: a few areas of resort need updating - pool tile looks a little tired, etc. people saving lounge chairs by pool means there aren't enough seats and despite a hotel sign saying towel left on chairs would be removed after 30 minutes, when we asked, the person responsible wasn't willing to help. Not a major deal - we ended finding chairs on the beach, but a annoyance they are obviously used to dealing with.

Pros: It is what it is. I was in Nadi on a 15-hour layover between Melbourne & LA, so I just wanted access to a beach, so under $20US for a bed & locker in a dorm room was totally worth it for beachfront access. The rod & showers were dirty, and the Pirate Dorm smelled so awful (like a monster mix of body odor, feet, and fish), that I couldn't nap in there as planned. And I'd advise wearing flip flops in the showers to avoid mold or fungus. BUT the beach is awesome, the staff is friendly, the restaurant is surprisingly excellent, I got a fantastic massage at the spa, and they have all sorts of activities available. No idea what the more expensive rooms are like, I'm sure much better than the dorms. But it was definitely worth the $20 to be right on their beautiful beach for the day.

Pros: Lovely setting of bungalows, chairs and hammocks along the beach. Staff very helpful and pleasant.
Cons: The air conditioning in our small room could not cool it below 80 degrees, even when we had it running for 3 days straight. Beach is covered in trash: plastic, tires, glass. There was so much broken glass that we had to wear sandals into the water.

Pros: The staff is super nice and helpful. The food was good too.
Cons: It's far from everything including a decent beach. The beach at the resort is smelly mud and not at all apt for swimming of and sort. You can walk a km to a beach down the road but it's mediocre at best because the water is muddy too even though the beach actually has sand. There's really nothing in Nadi at all so it's not worth it to stay close. The free breakfast was really sad too but everything is ordered off the menu was lovely.
