10.0 Excellent
Pros: Dinners were serenaded with beautiful music or live players, fabulous sunsets over the ocean, relatively free of interruptions and with a staff that remembers true customer service.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: The lace is lovely sea veiw
Cons: Card system not working sumtimes
3.1 Mediocre
Pros: Location
Cons: Dirty towels, bad breakfast and poor service
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Most of our guests utilised the Hyatt during their week-long stay for our wedding, and the service given was excellent from the minute they entered until they left. We also chose here for our wedding night stay, and they were so kind in facilitating all the wedding preparations on the big day itself, as well as being so kind as to extend our check-out time with a complimentary breakfast service (not a part of the original booking) since we arrived well after midnight after a long day of celebration. Truly grateful and appreciative of this sort of hospitality. They were kind enough to assist our guests in arranging tours and transportation, and everyone had a great time with the guides provided. The pool was top-notch - excellent view of the harbour with its infinity style design, and an excellent bar by the pool with a great selection of cocktails. The cafe downstairs also had a great selection of food items, and their smoothies was a hit with my husband. The rooms were impeccably clean and offered the most beautiful oceanic views all around. It set a very relaxed tone during the day, and a most romantic one at night with the panoramic view of the city lights. A very comfortable stay for everyone.
Cons: Location isn't the most convenient for getting around on your own, especially if you wish to go to downtown Port-of-Spain, if you're a tourist that is. The hotel can arrange for taxi services to collect you and take you to your destination, but these can often come at a price that whilst cheaper for foreign travellers, are definitely on the more expensive end for locals.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was pleasant at all times. I want to say a special thank you to Stacey and Nakeisha from Cinnamon, Carla from the Pool Bar, and Reta our house keeping attendant. Thank you again and I hope to see all of you the next time we stay at the Hyatt in Trinidad !
Cons: The cost of the meals were expensive and guest aren't allowed to use the outdoor seating area to eat authentic Trini food that is not available at the restaurant.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The diplomatic suite is very large and spacious. Very modern decor, gorg marble dining table, awesome kitchen and fully stocked fridge. It honestly felt like a complete home. The bathroom was huge with walk in closets and the bedroom had a balcony, there was a double door entryway as well as a seperate office room. The pool area in the hotel was lovely. Breakfast was included and absolutely delish and the overall hotel is by far the most updated and beautiful hotel in Trinidad. I would highly recommend staying here. Overall the service was excellent. However for booking one of the most expensive rooms i still think theres room for improvement.
Cons: -We booked the diplomatic suite and the room was beautiful and spacious, however there was nothing to play music from. The tv didnt allow us to use youtube or connect our phones to the lil alarm radio. I felt as though a room where persons will obviously having guests in the living and dining area should have speakers or something to play music from. -The electrical drapes didnt function properly. -The entry to the master bath has old damaged doors that made alot of noise when opened -I really didnt like that the door to the toilet was glass and the person using it can be seen from the bathroom. Whats the purpose of the door. -We also never go the cook top to work

Pros: The property was only a 5 minute drive from the airport. I loved the fact that the property was very flexible for my needs. Pros: Small hotel in a quite neighborood, very close to the airport. They provided a very efficient free pick up/drop off service. Exceptionally kind and effective staff, they went beyond expectations to ensure all our needs were met and to ensure we had the best stay. The pool area is very pleasant and perfect to relax before a long flight. Would definitely stay here again!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location, les than two miles from Piarco airport. Admittedly it's not the Hyatt but .... it's a third the price and it beats the hell out of driving an hour plus into town only to have to fight your way back later. Ideal for stop over flights. Very friendly owner who, had I not made alternative arrangements, would have collected me from the airport and took me back there at 0400 (all included in the price) There was a pool, which I didn't use, and an early departure meant I missed breakfast however it was, again, included. Will definitely go back when transiting through PoS.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Clean and convenient for an overnight stay

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Having access to the executive lounge was value for money. Overall the staff were friendly, reliable, and helpful. They accommodated my fiancé and I exceptionally well for our anniversary celebration.
Cons: The description of the room on the website compared to the actual look was a bit disappointing. The size of the room was standard size, the "newness" of the room was surely overshot. The backdoor and the desk were cracked and the walls were dingy from what seemed like footprints.

Pros: The location. The staff were very accommodating. The food was good enough.. breakfast options were okay. The pool bar was the best

Cons: The room had a funky smell
4.0 Okay
Pros: The pool was really nice.
Cons: Some of the staff weren’t so accommodating.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very good service from the owners ! They were very helpful and flexible and offered to pick us up and also take us to the airport ( far out of town). Very good communication as Alicia would reply instantly to the requirements. We had our stay cancelled in three other places in Port of Spain but we didn’t have to wait more than ten minutes to confirm our stay here, which was a relief.

Cons: When i arrived i got no help with my luggage
6.3 Good
Pros: I liked the location and the clealiness of the place. The staff was helpful and efficient when organizing a taxi from the airport to the Inn and viceversa.
Cons: It felt that the wall between the room and the corridor was paper-thin. I coud hear other guests laughing and walking to their bedrooms right until 1.30 AM. It was difficlut to rest and sleep with all the noice around, and I'm not a light sleeper. It would also help the staff if they could make the effort to smile a little bit.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was great. Very close to the park, safe neighborhood, nearby restaurants and grocery store. Front door has good security. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Pros: Everyone at Inn@87 was very helpful to first time visitors to Trinidad. Staff helped us with restaurant recommendations, taxis to and from airport, calling our tour guide. They could not have been more helpful.
Cons: We didn’t stay long enough to go to rum distillery and to go hear music.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: There was a friendly welcome from reception staff, who also gave helpful advice on Port of Spain. The breakfasts were very good with a choice of bacon and egg and cereal, or local dishes. The room was fine, clean and with good air conditioning, if a little cramped. This small hotel was in an excellent location for the Queens Park Savannah but there are very few restaurants nearby. It was good value for money.
Cons: View from bedroom window was just of another wall but there was a pretty verandah to sit at in front of the building.
7.5 Good

Pros: Room was good. The atmosphere was very pleasant
Cons: Breakfast could be improved
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely decor in outside covered patio garden with nice seating area for relaxing and breakfast.
Cons: Unfortunately post carnival the restaurant was closed. Prior notice would have been appreciated since ordering take out food for delivery to the hotel did not work well for us. Notice on booking confirmation indicated information about the restaurant which could provide both lunch and dinner options. The twin bed bedroom which was as requested did not have windows to the outside. This should have been made clear on the hotel information web site.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We loved being allocated to the room with all the Brian Lara memorabilia. The manager was so helpful with practical advice and great information about the region.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The entire place was so quiet and welcoming. Our room was cosy and reminded me so much of what a room out a grandparent/ "long time" house would be. Every detail of the room contributed to its name "The Old House". The big open area to the roof top of the building was an added bonus surprise we discovered while looking around. I Would surely visit again to experience a different room.
Cons: The only thing I didn't like was the pool being off the property.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: The location was good for travel around POS. The use of a computer was a plus.
Cons: The hotel is outdated. And the interior is in need of a facelift. The staff at reception on our arrival was not pleasant/welcoming. However the reception staff on Sunday was very pleasant and helpful. The carpets and rugs are stained and need to be updated. The linens are dingy and need to be replaced.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Peaceful.. rustic.. will definitely stay again.. as short as my stay was staff was helpful check in was easy no problems at all. Clean and homely. Close to the centre without being close to the Centre.

Cons: I left my purse in the room and money was taken from it
6.3 Good
Pros: Location is good if conducting business in Port of Spain and it is easy enough to access a few other places to eat or have a drink around the area.
Cons: The property itself feels out of date and could benefit from a refurbishment. The in-house restaurant is fine for 1-2 days but limited if having to eat there for longer periods
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Staff was ver y polite, room confortable and sparkling clean. Am sorry the pool wasnt available due to circumstance ,bit i still had a wonderful time
Cons: The bed
9.5 Excellent
Pros: I like everything I had no problem
Cons: I love the Room
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: For breakfast i had a three egg omlet which tasted better than before...the room service attendant was pleasant and my food was warm when i received it.
Cons: I am used to staying at the hotel every year for my birthday and this year was the worst...the staff said they were booked up and i got a room that was smelling moldy.i asked to be moved and the option was a double bed which was not to my liking...i told them it was my birthday. Not once i got a happy birthday! Customer service was just horrible and they sent housekeeping to spray the room for the scent but it was the furniture that needed to be replaced that caused the scent...what is being displayed online was not what meet the eye in person.never again!

Pros: My experience was so bad I’m not sure what I liked
Cons: The first room had no crib, we were moved to another room which had ants and then moved to another room which was behind a party that no one seemed to care that we have a 1yr old with us. They promised us a free night and that they will call us we are still waiting on the call.

Cons: The bed should be better. It is not firm and you sink in the middle
6.3 Good
Pros: Staff was very helpful and friendly. Rooms are old however well decorated.
Cons: Too expensive for a non fancy hotel with no amenities attached. Had to change my room 3 times for my 2 night stay and pool doesn't hv a warmer so it was icey cold. Only coffee was left at the rooms. So what about non coffee drinkers.

Regent Star Hotel - Piarco - Building

7.0 Good (191 reviews)

2.5 Mediocre
Pros: The lobby is pretty ( although it has the same stench the rest of the hotel does). The shuttle service from the airport was fast because it is adjacent to the airport. It has a lot of potential as the hotel boasts many unique but everything appears to have been poorly kept and deteriorating.
Cons: I stayed at the Regent Star for Carnival Monday and Tuesday 2016. I booked online last minute and paid $450/ night since the hotel stated they only had 1 room available. All of the other hotels were sold out and had no availability so although Regent Star was not my first choice, I did not think I had other options. The Regent Star's advertisement of only having 1 room available was a scam. The hotel was mostly vacant. By day 2 I knew I was the foreign fool who fell for a trick. There were actually approximately less than 10 guests total, I only saw three other guests both days and they were business travelers and one other masquerader. The hotel is NOT in Port of Spain as was advertised and is about a 30 minute commute away. Additionally for $450, the hotel did not provide anything but towels. The shuttle to POS left at 9am and stated that it was only able to come back at 2pm! I was the only person on the shuttle since no one else really was in the hotel. They told me I would have to catch a cab back if I was not ready by 2pm and I would have to call them by 1pm to even secure the shuttle. Anyone tourist who has been to carnival knows that 1) you will miss out on the heart of the parade if you leave at 2pm and 2) making calls during this time is virtually impossible. A few ladies at the front desk were actually kind, however the staff was overwhelmingly unhelpful and some were downright rude. Customer service is not of any standard here. No one even uttered a single "good morning", "good evening" or "welcome" during my stay. The food in the restaurant was extremely overpriced. The top floor was chained off and scary looking. Most of the shrubbery and foliage surrounding the property was dead (minus the ones highlighted in the pictures). I actually looked out my window and viewed a plant graveyard. How do you kill all of those plants in beautiful tropical Trinidad? I think that overall, this hotel just takes advantage of any unwitting tourist or the tired business traveler who is not familiar with Trinidad. On the third day I checked out and went to the Hyatt, I was finally treated decently. As a last insult the hotel located one of the cab services they used to take me to the Hyatt. The cab charged $240TT ($40 USD), I soon learned the going rate for that trip is $180 TT; some drivers will charge you a "local rate" and you wont even have to pay that much.
4.0 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: Not as advertised

8.3 Excellent
Pros: The restaurant wasn't exactly what I had in mind. But the fish was amazing.
7.5 Good
Pros: Staff was always willing n ready to assist
Cons: No facilities in each room to make a cup of tea.
7.0 Good
Pros: Clean, bed was comfy despite two slates becoming dislodged. Maybe they should invest in beds with bases.
Cons: Two wooden slates under the bed became dislodged. Upon inspection none of the slates were bolted to the frame under the bed and not the correct length to stay properly under the bed anyway. Also upon leaving the staff said they had to inspect the room before we left because there was no card on file to make sure nothing was broken. Excuse me??? My boyfriend went up with her for this inspection. Anyways that was an annoyance and it felt intrusive.
7.5 Good
Pros: Close to home, easy check in, clean and neat room with a comfy bed. Did this for my boyfriend's birthday for a little get away.
Cons: Bathrooms need a bit of an upgrade.
7.5 Good

9.1 Excellent
Pros: The location was great. Efficient and curteous staff. Room was clean and comfortable.
Cons: The AC needs some work.
3.8 Mediocre
Cons: Who in the hell offers bread and butter for breakfast? And floor tiles should not be glossy and smooth. My wife almost fell and damaged herself. The bathroom facilities are deplorable and cleanliness overall is poor.
4.5 Okay
Pros: Nothing, I would never recommend that anyone stay there despite the fact that it is only a mile from the airport.

Pros: The staff were friendly and helpful.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff here were very co-operative and always ready and willing to assist.
Cons: There is a water problem but I don't think it's necessarily the hotel I think it's all over the islands water supply that might have been poor
2.5 Mediocre
Pros: Pictures and descriptions about the property was totally misleading. What a waste of my time and money. We were so scared to stay there not even my kids were able to sleep that night.
Cons: When we got there our room door was wide open and we were not even cont even checked in as yet. The staffs were all asleep on the couches. When we got the room the door was wide open. The explanation for that was house keeping forget to close the door. Never heard such a thing. It took them a while before they were able to got the room door to lock. We were a family of 4 and we only had 2 boats towels no hand towels and no wash cloth. I ended up staying there because it was past midnight when we got there my kids were tired and we just wanted a place to stay while we wait for our connecting flight earlier that morning.
