The views were fantastic and very peaceful surroundings, the stairs were tough but worth it when you got to the top.
Lovely garden terrace, with deck chairs looking over the sea. Nice marble bathroom. Staff couldnt have been more helpful and welcoming. Made restaurant reservations for us, helped plan our trip to airport, etc. etc. No. A long climb up to the hotel from beach or main street, but even though we were not particularly fit, it was very do-able. And fantastic views from hotel made up for it
The view not easily accessible...too many steps
unique atmosphere; great staff, beautiful view location can be difficult to find and navigate
The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The views from the hotel are spectacular and the atmposphere is very peaceful. The hotel (including the romm, bathroom and terrace) is beautiful, recently renovated, and very tastefully designed. We had a great time at Villa Il Frantoio and strongly recommend it. The hotel is not suited for people who have trouble climbing stairs. However, if this is not an issue (and it wasn't for us), it is an excellent accommodation option.
The view was amazing, staff very friendly and the room it self was very clean and tidy. We could not fault it.
Excellent, warm and friendly staff at the Villa Il Frantoio, clean, well maintained and well equipped rooms. Spectacular scenary and surrounding.
The manager went "above and beyond'" to help us. After four days, we left with many good memories.
The staff and ambiance of the hotel were superb! Very helpful and friendly staff and some of the best capucinos we've ever had. We even enjoyed the steps involved getting to and from the hotel. (Not for the weak-of-heart, 200m the 40 steps down OR 220 steps from the village up-- to get to the beach from the village it was another 400 or so steps, lost count after a while, but quite the scenery and quite enjoyable). The view was quite good, although a bit overstated on the web-site. Mosquitos could be a problem, in the area although at the hotel they were quite kind as to provide repellants for the room so we had no problem! Our bathroom had a bit of a mold problem.
The view!! What a view. We stayed in the Junior Suite with a little private garden. Breakfast is servd on a patio with a great view as well. It was great. The staff is very friendly and helpfull. Giacomo suggested a few restaurants and even resereved a table for us at La Strada on our first night. It was excellent. The room is comfortable and has air-conditioning. We really enjoyed our stay! Nothing. Everything was great. It didn't bother us at all, but be warned. The 200 steps to the hotel can be exhaustive, if you have a lot of luggage.
Almost everything: room is beautiful, clean and comfortable, balcony view is stunning, location could hardly be better, etc. Quite expensive but reasonable for Positano and really worth the money Breakfast could be improved - not that it's bad, but one would expect more variety for the price.
The location, rooms, cleanliness and staff were excellent.
Location - Staff - In room breakfast No elevator
Secluded with a beautiful view of the town, very romantic
Hotel staff were so helpful and friendly. Hotel was very well located with quite nice rooms. Recommend without a doubt.
placement and service the room was small
It is a perfect hotel for vacation!
welcoming staff could not have been more freindly, very well maintained throughout
Good view A lot of steps.
Excellent location and very helpful and courteous staff. This was a great place to relax at the end of our 6 week European Trip. Althogh perfectly adequate some more choices for breakfast would be an improvement suggestion.
getting to the hotel- no transport service offered by hotel staff
homely feel, wonderful boutique hotel. views were breathtaking, day staff were great (nonna clearly runs the show and keeps a close eye on everything ... no english but her character shone thru). I arrived soaked from a downpour in capri and lovely blonde @ front desk went out of her way to sort my gear and track down the largest iron in the world. restaurant across the street is terrific. yes there are a million steps up to the palazzo but you can take the easy route = cruisey walk up viale pasitea and the views are worth every step.
The view was fantastic and a pleasant walk from the centre
location view, and price
The room was clean, comfortable and the balcony was wonderful. The staff were all nice, friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good with many choices in a lovely, sunny room. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is going to Positano.
the staff were great - even kicking in with a loan of a personal phone charger when I'd forgotten mine; the bathroom was huge and it was great to have a bathtub to soak in! the beds have foam mattresses; having said that, I still slept like a lamb
The wonderful views from the room/balcony, the staff, the great breakfast!! No
The balcony with the gorgeous view Breakfast was not great. Orange juice was bottled not fresh. Bread looked packaged. Cappucinos were not great.
I loved this b&B. It was just the right size (about 10 rooms) and our room was gorgeous. It was fabulously clean and had a wonderfully big bathroom with great water pressure in the shower (something we had trouble finding in Italy). The best part was the amazing balcony we had on our room. N/A
Seeview Internet access via WLAN was not available in room.
The Staffs was very kind and nice.
The location was perfect as my family (older children) and I were visiting Ravello for a family wedding in the square above the hotel. Pietro and Anna, the owners, were very friendly and helpful. Would certainly recommend this hotel.
peaceful, spacious rooms, great breakfast on terrace, views of hills lovely. wifi useless, and an unexpected car park location - not a problem in October, but not clear at booking.
Excellent rooms for a very reasonable price! The location is brilliant, right next to Ravello Square. Very simply run hotel but we were extremely happy with everything. No nothing, everything was brilliant!
Pietro and his staff were very helpful. The room was bright and clean and the scenery was beautiful. The continental breakfast was great and nicely served. Proximity to Ravello musical concerts was a plus.
The room was large with an excellent shower and the breakfasts were freshley prepared by the owners. Lack of view - our room was on the ground level.
Brand new rooms with 2 rooms and 2 flat screen TVs, lovely tiles, nice shower, bidet and toiletries Had ants and many flies in the room at check in and after cleaning staff were in
Huge bedroom and bathroom, modern and clean, excellent staff assistance, center of Ravello just below piazzo duomo Small continental breakfast, overlooked a carpark on one side but center of Ravello which is why we stayed here
The location is fantastic as it is a 30 second walk from the main Piazza (Dumo). The hotel / b&b is a fantastic find, the rooms are lovely and large with a nice finish. The staff are fantastic and really very attentive and willing to help in any way they can. The continental breakfast is very nice. N/A
new small hotel, good location to visit Ravello. big rooms very clean, staff (one person) service very good. Parking in public area, cost 10-15 euro a day.
Newly refurbished and well kept B&B, with comfortable bed and bathroom. No frills or luxury, but a magnificent view on Minori and the Costiera and held by a very friendly and helpful couple.very reasonably priced mini bar
Very quaint terrace overlooking a great view of the bay. The recently finished Neimeyer Amphitheater can be viewed from the terrace. The breakfast could be improved
We were very impressed by the location and character of this hotel. Its terrace shaded by lemon trees offered stunning views of the Amalfi coast.
The view from my room is spectacular, so with the view from the dining area. The hotel owner is very helpful and nice. It is not well signposted. You need to carry your luggage upstairs but I got the hotel owner help me.
The couple that owns the hotel were very nice; additionally, they drove us to the bus stop and picked us up each day as it is a very far walk. The suite we had was very nice and a good value. Great views. The hotel is located on a hill with very limited bus service. The jacuzzi on the solarium does not have a heater.
staff is so kind.
The room was very clean and the attention to detail was excellent. The prices of the mini bar was very reasonable and the location was right in the middle of the town. Would be good to know in advance that the parking wasn't free but it wasn't a major problem.
Our room in Residence Luce is very clean, comfortable and spacious. Because of low season, we've got upgraded to a junior suite which was very nice. The breakfast was much better than we expected for a B&B. There were cheese, ham, eggs, juices, milk, cereals, muffins, different types of bread, cakes, tarts and even fresh fruits, though I think there were only two of us there. We can see that lots of efforts were made to build a reputation for the place.
very friendly -- superb welcome, help with car parking by owner Vincenzo because the apartment was stayed in is 2-story, when the heat was on, the lower part was a bit cold when the top was comfortable.
Brilliant staff, lovely room, great location. This place really did live up to all of the very positive customer reviews.
centrally located near the dome plaza in Amalfi center - easy to find and only a 300 m from the central bus station in Amalfi - a very warm welcome by Vincenzo's very friendly team - tasteful furnished rooms - lovelly house and people - we would always choose Residenza Luce again! nothing
The location of the hotel is perfect, very nice and comfortable, and the people are very welcoming and helpfull!
The hotel location is marvelous. Enjoying the street from the balcony (Yes the room had a beautiful balcony ) to the Amalfi center. The family environment made me feel like home. our daughter enjoyed the stay a lot. The room we stayed was cleverly split with a intermediate floor as bedroom increasing the space.
Vincenzo and his staff were so friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The room was comfortable and immaculate. Vincenzo's cafe, located a few steps away in a quiet piazza provided a nice refuge from the nearby touristy and busy duomo piazza. I would stay at the hotel again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a hotel on the Amalfi Coast.
This was our favourite place in all of Italy! Vinchenzo went out of his way at every oppertunity to help us, organizing both a trip to Pompei and a cooking lesson for us. The hotel is beautiful, clean and spacious. It was truly the only place we stayed that had thoughtful and modern decor. Breakfast was delicious, and there was a big spread every morning (cheeses, bread, meats, cakes, pastries, oj, yogurt and coffee). We would stay again without hesitation. Nothing. Vinchenzo and his family were lovely, warm and helpful. The room was clean and modern with beautiful tiles and hardwood. The loft was nice because it gave us more room to spread out and relax.
close proximity to town centre and beaches
Lovely place, fantastic views and helpful staff Breakfast was very continental.... 1 croissant and a cup of coffee.
Nothing The staff were not very good, the location, facilities and the view from the room is equally bad. They advertised the room as sea view, it was not.
Our hotel room was extremely clean and comfortable, though a little on the small side. The view from our balcony was amazing - great views of the sea and the beach. The hotel was located in a great area of Amalfi as it was close to the bus terminal/port and the main town square. The breakfast provided was great but lacked variety. We got a bit bored of eating the exact same thing after 4 days.
This B&B is very central close to the seaside and we had a very nice view from our room. The rooms were recently refurbished and are very nice, fresh and modern. An excellent standard for a B&B!
