8.0 Excellent
Pros: Only person staying at hotel. Breakfast was excellent and friendly staff
Cons: Shower pressure pathetic and barely warm.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The overall feel of the place, well located and nice and quiet.
Cons: More water pressure in the shower
6.7 Good
Pros: Nice location overlooking the bay
Cons: We couldn’t find any staff, though I’m sure they’d have been lovely if we had!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable room and a lovely view, in a fantastic location!
Cons: The bathroom light is on an automatic sensor, meaning if you walk near / in there the light and fan sound come on whether you want them to or not. That was quite bright and loud when I got up during the night. Also breakfast felt a bit strange since there was almost no one staying! Alhough it was quite nice, it seemed like (maybe because it's low season) what I ordered wasn't really available and sort of cobbled together - would prefer to just be told to order something else to be honest.
7.1 Good
Pros: The location was perfect with a lovely of the bay. The breakfasts were delicious.
Cons: At the time of booking we didn’t realise that the restaurant would not be open for lunch or dinner
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is stunning. Nice and quiet. The breakfast room has a gorgeous panoramic view of the beach. The breakfast menu has loads of choice and was very tasty.
Cons: The bed was a bit hard. Mattress needs updating.

Cons:
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very friendly and made you feel welcome without being too over bearing
Cons: There was perhaps insufficent parking, but the hotel manager was on hand to deal with any problems
6.0 Good
Pros: All the basic requirements were well met, our room was comfortable and the staff worked hard to be efficient and friendly. The hotel was clean and well maintained. Food was good value for money, but in the guesthouse style of English cooking (white bread, tinned/frozen ingredients), and they tried to accommodate vegetarian.
Cons: Food choices were limited and menus did not reflect the overall quality of fresh food available on Jersey.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything, it was absolutely spot on. The owner takes great pride in his establishment and it shows
Cons: Nothing at all

7.0 Good
Pros: Very comfy bed
Cons: Pool kept being shut for classes both in the evening when we wanted to go and in the morning. Maybe a sheet in the room informing you would be helpful.
7.0 Good
Pros: Hotel room was clean. Pool facilities nice. Friendly staff
Cons: Restaurant over priced Asked for a glass of wine and charged over £11. Wasn’t even asked what size I wanted (automatically given large)
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Very good location. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable plus you have a desk in there so I could get some work done.
Cons: Well I was hoping to pay a little less
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Good location, clean well presented rooms
Cons: The staff were poorly trained although they were friendly and keen The live music in the lounge on 14/02/2020 was excessively loud, it was not possible to have a conversation. Numerous guests asked it to be a bit quieter and we were ignored. Staff struggled to cope, took 20 mins to get a drink and more to order dinner There was no room in the restaurant, I do not expect to pay to stay in a 4 star hotel and not be able to get access to the dining room.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Bed very comfortable
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful sea views located within easy walking of central Helier downtown. Quiet ie away from traffic noise. Friendly staff. Excellent breakfast buffet. Good size rooms.
Cons: Dining room staff are friendly but their method of how they take food orders and eventually deliver the food is strange and inefficient. Too many people are involved ie different staff show up as the meal progresses to again ask you what you want as your next course ( eg. two different waiters asked us what we wanted as the main course when we had already made the selection with our initial order) and a different person was involved in the delivery. We had to ask for our bill 3 times from 3 different people before finally deciding to go to the til to pay. I asked whether it was normal to ask to have the bill brought to the table and was told the choice was ours. The food was good.
7.9 Good
Pros: Good outlook
Cons: Nothing, was suitable for our requirements
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was great as were the staff. The complimentary bottle of Prosecco for our anniversary was a nice touch!
Cons: The mattress was not the best and the room was a little tired.

Cons: Nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: the stay was outstanding all staff were extremely helpful and couldn't do enough for you
Cons: I loved everything
5.0 Okay
Pros: The Breakfast was good and the spa was good once we found it .
Cons: the bar had no draught beers , the meal in the restaurant was terrible and we could not open a window in our room because it was far to noisy due to air con units and fans . if we where staying longer than just 3 days i would've asked for a room change .
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Position good and staff wonderful
Cons: Parking was not a lot and very tight
7.0 Good
Pros: The food was really excellent and the staff really welcoming and amazing especially Luis, he made our stay all the more special
Cons: I went away with my wife and was put in a room where the beds were conjured and basically single beds out together. Not at all good for cuddles and cosiness.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Central position for town and beautiful sea views. Outstanding breakfast and service.
Cons: 3rd floor rooms are in the eaves so the men kept banging their heads! Spa was uncomfortably hot during our visit
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff here are superb, they go the extra mile for you, especially Morgan, he is just brilliant
Cons: The car park is tiny, you might get a very small car parked, it's not a selling point to would recommend to anyone
Hotel De Normandie - Saint Helier - Building
6
7.9 Good (2,277 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Hotel De Normandie, you'll be centrally located in St. Helier, within a 5-minute drive of Elizabeth Castle and Port of Jersey. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and luggage storage. Guests may use a ferry terminal shuttle for a surcharge, and free self parking is available onsite.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff exceptionally friendly, helpful and welcoming particularly towards the 4 year old in our party. Beds very comfy and room clean.
Cons: Some of the people using the bar in the evening were pretty rough and one or two were clearly drunk. Swimming pool not as clean as it could be. Cloudy water. Needs more regular water quality checks.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Though the location is few minutes away from the main bus station, but the bus stop "Beach Road" is literally just outside the hotel which makes the transportation from point A to point B so much easy. The staff are brilliant especially the ones working in the breakfast room. Our room has a good size for a family (3 adults and 1 child), plus breakfast is included in our room rate.
7.0 Good
Pros: Good value hotel overlooking the beach, near to shops and pubs. Staff were friendly and helpful and there was a good selection for breakfast
Cons: Slightly dated, and the fittings were all budget, which made it feel cheaper. First night was okay, but the walls and ceilings are thin so it got very noisy when more guests were upstairs and next door
2.9 Mediocre
Cons: Some of the staff on reception were abrupt; far too much chlorine in pool as it made our eyes water, discoloured jewellery and swimsuit; no acknowledgement whatsoever of our special 25th Anniversary which was why we chose the hotel as we’d spent our honeymoon there 25 years ago- not even verbal congratulations/ complimentary drink; cooked breakfast was just average; did not find the stay to be value for money; will not be returning.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was excellent only 20mins walk into the heart of the city yet the hotel was on the sea front and got a free upgrade to seaview which was great. Breakfast selection was fantastic and staff very friendly and helpful.
Cons: The double bed was two single pushed together which was why I rated it as uncomfortable which was such a shame as everything else was lovely including the sauna ans swimming pool which had good opening and closing times. Hotel was very clean if not a little dated in some parts but would return enjoyed our stay.
5.4 Okay
Pros: The location was good - 15-20 minute walk into St Helier, lovely beach nearby and regular buses. The food was great - we enjoyed the Valentines set menu on our first night and couldn’t fault it. The only problem was we only had room for 2 courses, not the 3 we had originally hoped for! Breakfast was also good - lots of choice for continental options with hot food being freshly prepared to order.
Cons: The pictures are misleading, as is the star rating. Although it appears to have been decorated recently (decorators dust in the corners of our room!), the rooms are very dated with old carpet which rucks up causing a trip hazard. The rooms smell stale - we had to move from our first room as it smelt strongly of cigarette smoke. Only 1 light out of 4 in our room worked. The pool water did not appear clear and a strong smell of chlorine suggested it was having to work hard to remain clean. There was nowhere to put belongings when using the pool facilities. The lighting to the sauna was not working - massive safety issue, and there was very little heat being produced. The bar was overpriced - I expect to pay a premium when using a hotel bar but not nearly £20 for 2 drinks in a 3* hotel. Unfortunately, we had booked this hotel based on positive reviews by previous guests, the write up and photos provided. We’d also booked it based on the facilities which were substandard. We had booked this hotel as part of a celebratory birthday trip, so were understandably disappointed.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Bed very very comfortable great sleep both nights evening meal great service great facilities great jacuzzi amazing
Cons: Nothing it was very quiet and peaceful if. I had to cratek the reception staff could have been a bit friendlier / welcoming speciality the morning guy q
8.2 Excellent
Pros: Clean room and comfortable beds Good and varied breakfast and quick service Having just returned home I discovered that I had left a valuable ring in my room, after inquiring about it, I have received a call to say it has been found and will be sent on. I am delighted!
Cons: Small rooms Lots of little stairs, a bit of a warren
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Kids loved the swimming pool.
Cons: Chlorine in swimming pool was very strong.
7.3 Good
Pros: All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and airy with comfy beds and the breakfast was excellent with a good choice. The swimming pool and jacuzzi were a real treat and great to relax in- we had them completely to ourselves! The hotel is just across the road from the beach and is about a mile from the centre of St Helier.
Cons: On the evening we stayed in, the hotel bar lacked atmosphere with football on the television and the bar food was very basic (the fresh beer battered fish had obviously been frozen), however we did visit out of season and the restaurant was closed.
7.0 Good
Pros: Hotel was good for bed and breakfast, rooms clean and a good bar.
Cons: Only problem was the lack of packing space,
6.3 Good
Pros: Friendlyness and very helpful staff, nothing was too much trouble to make our stay comfortable
Cons: Had to ask for the items mentioned in welcome pack as were not ready in accomadtion, eg , hair dryer, phone . Also towels were very worn out eg large holes in one or two and frayed
4.7 Okay
Pros: it was very good value for money at £29.00 B&B for a double room, however at that price it is a gamble, breakfast was fine, but not a gormet exprience, poached eggs cooked well and the hot breakfast was cooked to "order" - not under arc lights
Cons: The shower was tempremental, either a faulty regulator or distantance from the boiler, hot water always came, eventually... First time took 5 mins, In asking for another room then I learnt half the hotel has been refurbished and half hasnt, we rejected the other two rooms offered (stained filthy carpets as opposed to wood laminate flooring) and perservered with the shower
6.0 Good
Pros: Large comfortable bed, clean bedroom and public areas, fried breakfast was well cooked and presented.
Cons: Staff not proffessionally dressed some building leaks were clearly evident when rained. Cold buffete choice limited, Bathroom and some internal ares dated.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was so good with really friendly and helpful staff
Cons: Mattress a little too hard
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous breakfast. Clean room. Friendly staff. No complaints.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: As we visited in February, the room was already warm when we arrived at 9pm on Friday night. Bed was VERY comfortable. We were told there was no space in the restaurant for that evening but we had no trouble in securing a table - 2 courses for £23 (starter sparse but main more than ample!). It was no hassle to charge to the room and even take extra drinks up to our room where Freeview, Netflix and Amazon Prime available! Breakfast buffet - cereal, fruit, full English, Continental all available in a spacious dining area. We both loved it and would definitely book again.
Cons: Not a criticism but an observation - It's around a 8-10 minute walk into main St Helier which wasn't a problem for us at all but may bother some who want to be in the centre. Have scrambled eggs on the breakfast buffet rather than having to ask for them - small point. :)
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Spacious and good food
Cons: Having to pay every day to park the car in the hotel car park.
The Royal Yacht - Saint Helier - Building

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved that I could use the facilities daily!
Cons: Breakfast on Saturday wasn't open at 7am - had to skip breakfast to get an early flight!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was in a great location and the swimming pool and spa were lovely.
Cons: The rooms are a little outdated and there were some noise issues from pipes - nothing awful, just noticeable.
7.1 Good
Cons: The room service staff were very rude whilst on the phone and very unhelpful. She sounded like she didn’t want to be there. She made me feel very uncomfortable, I wouldn’t expect this sort of service anywhere, let alone the royal yacht. Very unsatisfactory
10.0 Excellent
Pros: loved the breakfast in the morning at the sirocco restaurant. Also loved how there was a TV in the bathroom!!
Cons: I didn’t like how there was no list of prices for the mini fridge. Also how check out is at 12

7.0 Good
Pros: Stayed for 1 night for a funeral so not socially as late arrival. Bit of damage re curtain hooks and toilet seat but room clean and tidy- not anything to complain about. Breakfast was superb, lots of choice. Indoor and outdoor pool under other conditions I would love to have tried. Will book again as regularly visit Jersey
Cons: Room had minor faults, but nothing to create over
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff at the Apollo are very helpful and polite, nothing too much trouble for them. The rooms were clean and tidy and had everything we needed. The restaurant staff were a great help with the breakfast and evening meals. Always on hand should you need them but not hovering like a lot of restaurants do. Good location for walking around St Helier and a car park at the rear with a coded exit gate.
Cons: Although i like this hotel and have been a couple of times the decor could do with being brought into the 21st century, it is a little dated, but a lick of paint etc and the hotel will be beaming all ready for my next visit.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was lovely and we had a view of the pool. Very central location and well worth the money. The temperature was ideal.
Cons: The bar was badly stocked and cleanliness was not great, there was an old tea bag label in the tea pot and one of the glasses in the bathroom had not been washed properly and had toothpaste on the bottom. On both Saturday and Sunday mornings we got a pre-10am call from housekeeping, way too early to be trying to get in to clean, perhaps leave until around 11.00am/11.30am?
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Indoor pool, friendly staff and general feel of the property
Cons: The room could do with a refurb as it’s a tad bit dated
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Value for money
Cons: Needs updating
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfy bed, plenty of space in room, good breakfast, staff all friendly, excellent value for money.
Cons: Rooms are a little dated, think of them as retro and their bang on
6.5 Good
Pros: Staff (although the waiting staff were a bit serious and could do with chilling out a bit) Breakfast (although the sausages were disappointing (very cerealy) Location - excellent for town and the sea front Indoor and outdoor pool On-site parking
Cons: Very uncomfortable chairs in the dining room Tinned fruit salad at breakfast (so 1970s) Paper-thin pillows No clothes iron in room
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Location excellent 5 min walk to town, 10 min walk to main bus station.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was huge and very comfortable
Cons: The mattress was paper thin and I couldn’t sleep most of the night
7.0 Good
Pros: Room only
Cons: Needed to switch wall lights on to have bathroom light working ???
7.5 Good
Pros: Great Location, had a bar.
6.0 Good
Pros: Great price and location perfect for being g close to town.
Cons: Room was quite small. Had asked to be placed in a specific room or similar to what I had used before as I have very mixed quality of rooms. The safe once again didn't work. This time it was locked, presumably from a previous occupant and couldn't be bothered to get unlocked as I was only staying one night.
7.0 Good
Pros: Location was ok, not the best located hotel but still only a 10 min walk from the main part. Breakfast was good,
Cons: The rooms need modernising. they are a bit tired and in need of some TLC. The fitness rooms were small and old. not enough facilities to accommodate the number of people using them and twice during my 4 trips to the gym I had to leave early due to not being able to get on the machines I wanted.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic hotel, very near the town centre. Friendly and helpful staff. Check-in simple and easy, breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Rooms very comfortable. No big complaints!
Cons: The website for the hotel states luggage room, however we were told that we should leave our bags under a television set for the day in the middle of reception. They said someone would be there all the time, there is cctv, etc, but we did not feel comfortable doing that and were refused having our bags put behind the desk "in case they got mixed up with the arrivals"... We ended up carrying our bags around with us all day.

Cons: 20 minute walk to town but not difficult when weather is lovely.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: spa was amazing. breakfast fantastic and large spacious rooms
Cons: nothing - it was all excellent
9.0 Excellent
Pros: every thing about the hotel and location were fine very enjoyable stay would recommend
Cons: The restaurant staff could have been more efficient taking food orders and clearing tables between courses
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great indoor pools ...good staff ...great gym
Cons: No fridge in the room ....bar was very poor ....spar treatments were grossely over priced
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The pool and spa . The room was spacious and really cosy
Cons: The food in the restaurant was not worth the prices. The food was standard at best
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Hotel De France is an iconic and well know hotel in St Hellier. Its traditional french architecture is very destinctive and rooms have recently been modernised to include modern bedding and facilities. The Spa facility is by far the strength of this hotel, and treatments are superb. Hotel guests get free access to the pool and jacuzzi areas which are oerfect for a day of exploring the island. Breakfast is also a strength with a range of cold and hot options, served by friendly staff. We’ve stayed here before and, although breakfast previously was self serve, due to building works this is now served in the garden terrace but staff were bery accomodating and happy to bring whatever you wanted directly from the kitchen. Rooms were clean and bright and the hotel was very well kept. The free shuttle is also a great facility, given that the town is a little walk away.
Cons: Whilst work had been done on the rooms to modernise, there were some elements that hadn’t been updated. Our matress was quite old and broken which meant that sleep wasn’t the most comfortable experience. My wife and I quite often felt broken springs giving us an unwelcomed dig in the back. The bathroom was also quite dated and did not match the updated bedrooms. The building work, though not to intrusive, did create an eyesore and it was a shame to see the light grand dinjng room had gone (we had enjoyed eating here previously)
6.0 Good
Pros: The location is brilliant and the room was lovely.
Cons: the breakfast was massively disappointing. A lot for what we received

9.0 Excellent
Pros: It was a lovely hotel, the staff was lovely and friendly
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything, staff are very polite and a very comfortable place to stay.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely perfect weekend stay.... rooms spotless and have everything you need, the food is second to none and the staff are fantastic !!! Had a niggle with a beighvour but soon sorted by the night porter who was working on Sunday night ( 9th of feb ) who was very professional and polite, an absolute credit to The Inn especially as I popped down in the night and the guy was busy cleaning the bar area !!! Superb..... we will be back.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff exceptional, restaurant superb, bed comfortable, decor modern, location good,
Cons: Nothing
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location, bar and restaurant were nicely decorated
Cons: Our bathroom was of a poor standard compared to initial appearance on arrival, also very poor sound insulation from the room above, breakfast staff weren't over friendly, and when we came back with friends on Friday night to have drinks in the bar they were told they had to leave at 11.30! Found that very rude.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, welcoming bar area, nice decor.
Cons: The tea! Individual tea pots would provide a much tastier brew.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was terrific in quality and quantity. Also the restaurant served great meals at a reasonable price in the evenings. The staff in the restaurant was superb.
Cons: Due to an unusual floor plan, most guests will have to use stairs to get between their rooms and the elevator on each floor. This did not bother us, but it may be a challenge for those with mobility issues.

7.0 Good
Cons: The restaurant was closed for dinner. The cafe downstairs is not very good. I was looking forward to the restaurant and that was part of the reason I booked.
7.0 Good
Pros: Rooms look nice altho IMO a little dated. Nice cafe/bar area, particularly on the inside of the hotel - much smaller and quieter. Staff seem friendly. The hallways are super cool (sad, I know) and the NFC access to the rooms is snazzy, too. Would stay again the next time i come to Jersey.
Cons: The cafe/ bar is open to the public so can get quite noisy during the day. The lights in the room can be slow coming on and the one next to the bed just turned itself off randomly. There's only 1 lift and it's quite snug.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent full English breakfast available plus a range of other types of breakfast. Location was not far from the ferry point within easy walking distance and convenient for a range of shopping, restaurants and pubs.
Cons: Everything was pretty much as we would like it.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff in Reception, housekeeping and porters were exceptional. Always had a smile and a welcome. The rooms were refreshed daily to a really high standard and then a supervisor popped by to check all was okay. Breakfast was excellent, plenty of choice, again lovely service. It just felt like nothing was too much trouble. Plus, when they found out it as my birthday they sent me a cake :-)
Cons: If the Harbour Restaurant would have been open. Real personal dislike were the taps in the sink in the bathroom, but that's more me than the taps :-) Was a little cold at times in different parts of the room - when we put the heating on we had a seating area that was warm but the bed area not so. But again, really not a major issue.

Pros: Cleaning twice a day was great. Convenient location and good price. Breakfast was nice. Would go back.
Cons: Ladies at the spa could be a bit friendlier and less efficient, other staff was excellent.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice place. Lovely staff, they couldn’t do enough.
7.0 Good
Pros: Room very clean
Cons: Spa Sauna did not work big gap under door so steam left room. Experience shower was just shower heads different angles on wall?
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: Staff were welcoming and tried their best. Both rooms had no heating so alternative oil heaters were brought to the 311 /310 rooms. Room 310 was noisy with the generator above on the roof. Again alternative room found post midnight. Customer service . The manager took 25% off the room with no heating and gave breakfasts foc for both rooms. The second room with no heating and the loud generator was not charged for.
Cons: Cold rooms at the outset. As both rooms which were opposite each other were cold with no heating functioning I would suggest there was something wrong with the heating system for the third floor. Loud, low noise from the generator. Again this could not have been a one off. I should have been told. Even with ear plugs the noise made it very difficult to sleep.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What’s not to love! The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We had a lovely room and enjoyed the use of the spa. The room was well equipped and had a lovely treat of water and cookies being left in our room for the night time. Great location and close to everything you need in St Helier.

Cons: N/A
6.0 Good
Pros: location
Cons: Its disgusting penny pinching by the hotel to charge extra (nearly £3) to have a bread roll with your soup first course. It's not as if the soup is cheap either, over £6.

Cons: .
6.0 Good
Pros: Hotel is close to town and conveniently located in a quiet street.
Cons: Hotel is slightly “old fashioned” and could do with a little refurbishment. The bedroom door are not sound proof, so late night guests can be heard walking up and down the hotel corridors. Also, I was woken up twice by the sound of the fire alarm at 4:30am and 4:50am, which disturbed my sleep - a no apology notice was presented in the hotel lobby.
