Receptionists were friendly and helpfull. Room too hot and too noisy due to proximity of a1. Servive poor in restaurant and qulity of food very poor considering prices charged. No beer in bar all week. Dodgy plumbing in bathroom. No garden so why call it a "Garden Hotel".
very comfortable atmosphere, excellent food and plenty on the plate, served well. no.
Bed was okay to sleep in I was given a smoking room when booked non smoking. The room looked grubby and the shower facilities were ancient. It was noisy because it was facing the motorway.
The breakfast was definitely not value for money. The continental breakfast was very poor in choice!
Staff was Excellent and the food delicious. View was not great.
Good friendly staff - good resturant Rooms overlooking dual carriageway can be noisey due to high volumes of traffic
It was convenient and reasonably priced Very noisy room as faced the AI. Tired decor.
The bed was comfortable and the staff were helpful The carpet in the bedroom needs replacing as it was well worn, and the bathroom could do with some thought, cheap plastic toilet seats do not help!!!
Staff member in the dining room excellent and friendly
Shower had no pressure and when the taps where on at the same time, the shower was cold. Television had hardly any channels, not even freeview For £80 not great value
Recognised as a frequent visitor. Given choice of room. Breakfast coffee is grim.
great location, quiet rooms, polite staff, great decor
A very pleasent wedding reception Vegetables with main course, all of them, except roast potatoes, were very undercooked.
Needs to be updated but overall ok, great location Old needs updating
The view over the river overlooking the rowing club.
Everything That the rooms were modern when the rest of hotel was boutique.
Central location on riverfront, very traditional long established local hotel, clean and comfortable . Quirky. Nice breakfast. Rooms on small side , but comfortable .
Comfortable and Spacious Room. Helpful and polite staff. Plus, the location by the river.
The hotel bed was the most comfortable bed of any hotel we have stayed in recently.Although we arrived quite late in the evening the reception staff were very welcoming. This was our second stay at this hotel.
Was on a Conference
the location for the town etc plus riverside walks the pool was too small and too deep and jacuzzi did't work, so no spa and no relax
Clean room, comfortable bed, friendly staff. no, but I was surprised at the lack of minibar in the room
enjoyable spa, many choice of breakfast, room looked modern and clear, half hour get to the city of cambridge. no enough milk for making tea and coffee in the room
Nice room which was very comfortable. Good breakfast with plenty of choice of different foods. Easy access to gym and swimming pool. The breakfast room/ restaurant lacks atmosphere in evening, ie does not feel like a restaurant. We stayed on first floor close to conference room - this was noisy due to presence of wedding party.
Staff were extremely helpful even tho' they were very busy - they were very pleasant and anticipated our needs. None
lovely room, good leisure club facilities Hard to find reception staff-alwayas behind closed doors, and not visible to find.
Proximity to road networks etc. Comfortable environment to relax in. Very good service. Nil
The cleaniness and comfort was most impressive. The room standard was extremely high and the food was acceptable if not outstanding. The location was difficult to find. The hotel was definately not in Huntingdon and there were few if any signposts.
The service was good and the breakfast was substantial.
The quality of everything used in building was particularly good, eg the doors were soundproof , width of corridors, lighting, air con, quality of bedding, in fact it was all faultless and I have rarely stayed in a better hotel at any price. It was all faultless
The staff were pleasant and helpful. Room service was overpriced. For an executive double it did not include breakfast and did not have a mini bar. Most other hotels offer these things for an executive rate.
Clean, easily accessible Confusion and excessive charge regarding two small dogs staying in our room. We selected hotels for "animal friendly", but were charged an unannounced gbp 75 for "deep cleaning charges".
good evening meal poor breakfast
friendly staff and easy to find public parking means on street parking cold noisy
The staff I met were very professional and friendly. The hotel is spacious and good value for money. It needs a lot of minor refurbishment and drainage needs upgrading - noisy maceerator
the room need a good clean there was no plug in the sink to much furnture in room chaos at breakfast
Hardly relevant, I did no more than sleep there! Breakfast start time of 8am was too late for the time I needed to leave - hence no breakfast.
The price for bed & breakfast for a room for 2 people was very good. The bed was very comfortable It needs a bit of TLC to improve the carpets, paintwork etc
Leaving Inefficient staff, poor cleanliness of crockery, poor quality of food
Friendly staff. Good value for money. Relaxed atmosphere. Hotel bar/lounge in process of being redecorated. Beautiful victorian building. Lovely gardens to enjoy in summer. Room decor could be better. For example, exposed wires running along ceiling to smoke alarm. Peeling paper. Curtain hooks missing. Poor reception on tv.
comfy bed! Very tired tatty hotel £30 a night was enough to pay. Poor parking facilities and if car not removed from road by 0900 parking ticket
Cheap, nice staff but poor quality accommodation Very cold room, dirty broken furniture and "dodgy" wiring.
Accommadation was good, especially as there was a bath. We couldn't find the hotel,it was poorly signposted, no indication that it was a hotel, and we spent about half an hour driving around to try and find the hotel part of the complex.
Comfortable rooms. On-line you do not have guest reviews.
was able to stay on site whilst attending a wedding. I found the room quite expensive
The executive suites were clean Very poor value for money, small rooms
The food in the Brasserie was the best food we have eaten out in 20 years and we eat out a lot. Outward appearance and approach to Hotel was disappointing.
Free WIFI connections - excellent signal throughout the hotel
Room was very spacious and comfy and staff very welcoming and polite. Restaurant overlooked the lake and food was delicious and good value. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. Shower was a little tempremental at times
We stayed in a very clean, spacious room with a large comfortable bed. The hotel had a good choice of breakfast menu. Directions to the hotel on the Wyboston site could be clearer. Difficult to locate hotel at night.
Nice place, equipment and service. No direction signs out and insite at all !
Room and surrounding areas are excellent even during their upgrade process. Ease of parking. Friendly staff. Drinks are reasonably priced. The breakfast was definitely not up to the expected standard, lacked freshness, and seemed to consist of what was left rather than being freshly cooked. This experience was repeated on on both days.
The receptionist, Linda, was very welcoming. She took me to the bar, rather than giving me directions. She was most helpful with any queries. N/A
The room was clean and comfortable.
the shower had no water pressure and when we asked why we were told that the room had been refurbed and they were having trouble with the pressure. If this was the case, why were we given that room to start with?
The hotel was very nice, room was comfortable The price of drinks(£9.00)sothern com and lemenade taken to room The price of breakfest to room(toast, orange and tea-£17.00!!!!!)
friendly staff, room cleaned OK. Toilet seat needs renewing. Not nice. Otherwise, room good.
The food was very nice and well presented. Room were large by British standards. We enjoyed the bar and Boddingtons on tap.
It was a little tired and tatty and I would not have paid the full £100 per night for the room we had (at half price as it was Friday night it was OK). The welcome was luke warm.
The attitude of the staff was excellent and the manager quite exceptional.
the staff were courteous and we were made to feel very welcome nothing
Handiness to the Town Centre. Clean rooms and staff very friendly and welcoming. My folks stayed in room 710 and it was very pleasant however in the evenings all we could smell was drains. It didnt disrupt our break however maybe something you should look into.
Good location. Nice room. Efficient service Pricey breakfast. Only one pillow. Cold atmosphere in bar area.
Nice Modern bathroom Double walk-in shower. Flat screen TV Comfy Bed. Breakfast quite expensive at £14.99
Very convenient location. Good beers in the bar A small point but the toilet looked liked a lavatory brush had never been used on it. Bathroom generally looked a bit shabby. Mattress very soft.
central location yet next to river view from room
thep plumming was a bit noisey
Also, the T.V. was overall very good BUT I had trouble getting past the menu to watch the normal channels. I thought you had to go through the menu to watch the normal channels. It took me quite a while to figure out that I just had to press the number of the control to get the specific channels. But overall I was very happy. Thanks. A+++++++++++++++++
Location, Food and Helpful Staff Rooms were rather dated, some of the appliances needed replacing.
Location The hotel booked the room for the wrong date and money was taken from our account even though we had a booking.com receipt. The money was returned. Because of the mix up we were upgraded to an executive room, in these rooms breakfasts are provided , we knew this as we have stayed in one before. We were disappointed and somewhat embarrassed when we went down for breakfast on the second morning to be told there was no breakfast although there was one for the first morning. Not a particularly enjoyable stay made worse by the noise from the adjoining room which kept us awake until the early hours and then woke us at 6 am. All in all a poor experience.
The design of the rooms, especially incorporating a single door to the bathroom and wc - very ingenius. The hairdryer: to continually have to push a button for the hairdryer to work was very annoying, together with the electrical cord not being very long - trying to dry a 3 year old's hair was time consuming.
Convenience and the cleanliness of the hotel
Good quiet room very clean and comfortable, well laid out and larger than some far more expensive hotel rooms I have stayed in. Cost of drinks in bar and limited menu
Too close to rail way, noise issues
Good sevice and a good brekfast
Clean and comfortable - good heating controls in room - staff friendly and helpful Problem when booking in as the booking was recorded in my forename not surname. Breakfast options a bit sparse and basic
An easy and stress free experience, easy parking and a tranqil location away from the traffic and husstle and busle of the town. Fortunately I had a mobile otherwise it would have been hard to find. It is behind a filling station.
everything no complaints just the fact if they had been full i would have been greatly inconvenieced due to them not recieving the booking
Like most Holiday Inn expresses this one was clean and comfortable and perfect for arrive late, leave early business accommodation. Not a criticism but be aware that apart from the petrol station next door there is nothing else near this hotel so you will need to drive if you want to find a pub or restaurant.
Rooms near the railway line are noisy!
Five minutes walk into town. Stayed in small character cottage close to main building. Room was lovely and warm. Very peaceful. Able to make use if wi-fi. Excellent breakfast. All staff extremely helpful. All minor problems addressed immediately.
Proximity to town No information given at check in and no information in rooms with regard to timing or where breakfast would be
Great breakfast, pleasant staff, adequate heating in bedroom on a cold night.Lovely surroundings. Easy access to town centre.
The setting, the history.
free internet poor information in the room - meal times etc. no water in room.
Quiet, easy reach of centre of town
The location is idealas you can park your car and walk into town. No stress about parking.
Proximity to town centre Lack of amenities to room. Low standard of fit out, poorly maintained and unclean - i.e. large cobwebs visible.
Very little, not up to our usual standard Terrible bed, uncomfortable and too small
Clean, has more character than the chains and is well-located with plentiful free parking in the middle of town. My phone charger was removed in error by the cleaner during my stay but I retrieved it at check-out.
Beautiful, comfortable bedrooms, a lovely hotel in general and beautiful setting. Very good staff.
Just bstayed 1 night. The room was spacious and clean with pleasant decor. The bathroom beatifully clean and the shower perfect. Breakfast was included and excelent quality. Would definately stay again Nothing
the rooms are fantastic, bed was just so warm and comfortable, quilt is the best i have ever experienced in 24 years on the road, breakfast left a bit to be desired, asked for sausage, bacon and tomato and got just that 1 of each on a massive plate ?? next time will ask for 2 of each
Very friendly staff, excellent room, very comfortable Set menu didn't give much choice, and even if you only wanted one course, you had to pay for two.
Easy to find, good parking facilities and the size of the room was very nice. We thought there could have been some form of food available at 9pm on the day of arrival and the room could have been warmer. However it was a bitterly cold night.
Very nice atmosphere
The place, the old manor, and the welcome of the staff
Very generous sized rooms and excellent breakfast. Clearly an old converted manor house with great character.
excellent evening meal Staying in one of the cottage rooms there was little hot water in the evening and none in the morning, the staff did not really handle it well, basically saying the boiler was empty as a reason, I received £10.00 off my bill when I asked to speak to the manager but hot water is an absolute basic and the quality of the staff in dealing with it was not very efficient at all - a real shame.
1. Atmosphere was welcoming and comfortable right from the start when food was available at 9:00 pm when we arrived! 2. The staff were without excellent - approachable, friendly and helpful; 3. The accommodation was spacious, well appointed and comfortable. 4. In the Dining Room at breakfast and especially at Dinner were attentive but unobtrusive.5. The whole experience was first class.
Friendly reception and pleasant service at mealtime Small room, not very spacious and heating difficult to adjust
It was a short stay but would use it to " venture " out to surrounding site visits , ie Cambridge etc Satisfied with all of the facilities
New great quality hotel in an impressive old manor house. Highly recommended. It was difficult to find due to the lack of signals.
It was in a tranquil but convenient location and the staff were extrememly helpful and pleasant. I think the hotel has been overdeveloped and has lost the character of the original old hall.
Stayed while attending the Duxford flying legends display, location was very good for travelling. Could do with a cash machine, I had to drive to town centre for cash
Clean comfortable room with decent facilities. Bathroom was well appointed. The room was quiet and the air conditioning worked well. The sloping top to the basin in the bathroom was disconcerting! We were served a glass of wine that was off and had to be changed
The hotel is lovely; very clean, well maintained etc and the staff are friendly and very professional. During our weekend stay there were four weddings at the hotel and we felt we were treated slightly second rate as we were not wedding guests - it seemed that the weddings dominated the hotel. We did not sleep at all well both nights due to wedding guests sitting outside the bar into the early hours (4am) and chatting outside our bedroom window, which we felt could have been managed better by the hotel management. We also felt that the swimming pool was not particularly useful to hotel guests; when we tried to use it there was only one swimming lane available due to lessons in the other lanes and there were so many people in the swimming lane that it was not a particularly great experience.
The Food was fantastic They know how to cook there steak you ask for rare and you get what you ask for. there are lots of treatments on offer but you need to book them as soon as you arrive to get a space. The rooms are a little disapointing as there in the extended part of the building. you first arrive and the hotel is old you expect the rooms to have beams in the ceiling and to be unlevel flooring. but was in the extention so the rooms are all new, but still very nice size of rooms.
This was a business stay as were just about all the others in there. The downside and most dissapointing was the restaurant , which has bee excellent was only offering a mediorce Table de hote memnu. very poor for this class of hotel.
The Grounds were beautiful to sit out and look at One member of staff when we arrived was not very pleasant.
Spacious rooms, calm quiet location. Excellent staff, excellent restaurant. No leaflets about local attractions
Beautiful rooms and great staff. When we complained about the noise in our room they moved us straight away. Can be very noisy in certain rooms if there is a wedding taking place
Beautiful hotel and attentive staff. Did not get the opportunity to try the restaurant this time but we will be back and will try it next time. Although all of the confirmation details on the booking e-mail were for the correct date, when we arrived the hotel system indicated that we should have been there the previous night. The hotel resolved the issue, luckily they were not full.
The staff were helpful, the location was very attractive, the room was excellent except for heating, and the food was good both for Dinner and breakfast. The central heating did not work well and we had to have two electric heaters.
The Hotel has avery clam & peaceful ambience and the food is excellent. Very helpful staff from reception to waiting. There are none.
The hotel was simply brilliant. The staff was friendly, the breakfast was good and the rooms were very clean. We had a magnificent stay.
Efforts by staff to correct glitches which occurred with my room.... the central heating, the telephone, the missing blinds in the shower room The cold. Coming from HK where it is warm compared to the UK I did suffer. However Offley place and staff are unable to control the climate
It was the most excellent hotel I've visited in all my life. It has a frindly staff and helpful, every thing was arengment. I felt as if I'm not in hotel, I felt I'm in historical palace. So, I'm coming to stay in this hotel soon. To be honest, I like everything.
The staff were incredibly polite but not too formal, really friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The room was large and airy and the grounds beautiful. I didn't mind but perhaps it could do with a lift?
Excellent room, spacious and beautifully furnished. Did not take evening meal but breakfast very good.
Great service and location would of liked to stay longer
The staff were extremely courteous and the food was very good. Would have liked tea-making facilities in the room, although tea and coffee were available on request.
Fantastic room, friendly staff lovely food. Would highly recommend.
Lovely room, excellent dinner and breakfast, very helpful staff Access into shower cubicle was very limited - I'm not big and it was a squeeze for me!
The ambience Room a little small.Carpet stained and needed cleaning.
Everything was perfect. Bit pricey for drinks but what hotel isn't these days (the bottle of rose wine was amazing though).
very helpful staff, relaxing atmosphre, good food bedroom lighting too subdued
friendly staff, excellent attention and lovely food the mattress on the bed was uncomfortably soft
The ambience, location in private grounds and the old-fashioned building and antiques, pleasant room and a lovely log fire in reception.
Very comfortable beds and rooms. Roaring fire in the lobby and lovely countryside views from the bedrooms. Didn't use the restaurant in the evening but the breakfast was outstanding. All staff were very helpful and pleasant. Wasn't thrilled that Room 5 had a fire exit going right between the bedroom and bathroom and only had a small shower instead of a bath. Although I know it would have been unlikely for a fire to have occurred, it left me a little uneasy that someone could stumble through my room by accident! Luckily, Room 3 did have a bath, but had I not been staying with a relative, I would have found the bathroom in Room 5 lacking, especially as the bedroom itself is so large and luxurious. These few niggles didn't detract too much from a generally very pleasant stay.
