10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everthing stephen and Clare were the perfect host breakfast was the best ever would definitely go back
Cons: Nothing everything was perfect
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The owners were very warm and friendly (well I never saw Claire I only saw Stephen!) and the property was in a superb location for the town. The choices at breakfast were fantastic and had it not been for the fact that the cooked breakfasts were served up so quickly I might've thought that Stephen was doing it all himself and pretending there were two people there! In addition Stephen was very easy going while also being very helpful when answering any questions.
Cons: The only minor thing was that it was difficult to maneuvre in the small bathroom when drying. Apparently there are supposed to be nice views but I didn't get that - I just got the back of the house. The view however would've been a bonus and unless a property is located in the middle of a national park (making it many times more expensive) then great views will only tend to be on one side.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was beautiful I was upgraded to a double at no extra cost bonus.
Cons: There was nothing I didn't like

Elm Grove Country House - Tenby - Building
9
9.4 Excellent (214 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Located in Tenby, Elm Grove Country House is in a national park, within a 10-minute drive of Manorbier Castle and Carew Castle. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely decor and great suggestions for places to visit in the area.
Cons: Fan in bathroom was a little noisy.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The huge bed in the attic room was so comfy! The house had so much character I could have stayed in throughout my stay. Creaky floors and wobbly glass in the windows just made the house more authentic. The staff and owners were very friendly and made me feel right at home. The location was also perfect, just far enough away from Tenby to make it accessible, but remote enough for absolute peace and quiet. What a treasure!!!
Cons: The only negatives were fully understandable due to the age of the house: the shower was very noisy due to it needing to be pumped up to the attic, the water pressure at the wash basin was very weak for the same reason. The parking was also tight for the 9+ guest vehicles but any more space for cars would just affect the beautiful grounds.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: There was a misunderstanding about a second room for which I was as much to blame as the owner it was resolved by the owner to my satisfaction for which I'm very grateful thank you
10.0 Excellent
Pros: From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome and at home. We were shown around the house (where breakfast would be, the lounge and DVD library) before being show to our room (which was clean, fresh smelling and very comfortable-room 12). Alan (the host) made us a pot of tea with Welsh cakes and we made use of the croquet and table tennis. Breakfast was served by a lovely local lady who made time to ensure any dietary requirements were adhered to. Alan recommended the local pub (The Sun) a 2min walk from the property which serves regular home made pub food in a friendly atmosphere. A perfect base for a few nights away to explore a little corner of Wales.
Cons: Nothing
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We thoroughly enjoyed a two nights stay here. It ticked all the boxes that tourists are looking for: great location to Tenby and seaside; easy access from the main road; picturesque setting; quiet woody surrounding and a delightful building. We were greeted warmly by the host with tea and welsh cakes, and were delighted that our room was upgraded too. What impressed us most was that the spacious room was well furnished with a set of decent antique furniture, which really took the experience of stay to another level. Last but not least, when I realised I left something in the room and called the hotel, they said it was found and wrapped up to be ready to be posted to me... So to sum up, we felt the overall experience was exceptionally good.
Cons: A couple of areas to improve: the toilet button should be sorted; and the breakfast could be improved.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Jane & Alan were really freindly and welcoming. We loved the property - real character with lovely big rooms and traditional fixtures and fittings. It certainly feels like you are staying in a Country House and not just a B&B. We have a plug in hybrid car and Alan made sure we were able to charge it up every day. We also really loved the help that was given to plan our day each day, and we discovered some wonderful places we would not have gone to without that. As a base for exploring all that Pembrokeshire has (with a car), this was perfect for us.
Cons: Nothing really stood out as a problem. We took the suite in the roof which due to low and high windows didn't have great views - but we knew that before we booked and it was really nice to have a suite. We saw some of the other rooms which had great views and were really well presented. The only problem we had while we were there was with the shower. Its an old house and therefore plumbing is always going to be a challenge and we had an airlock in the pipe. We were warned that this might happen when we checked in along with an explanation of the simple procedure to fix it. It did happen and we quickly fixed it - and once that was done, we had a full power shower with all the hot water we wanted. The only other thing to call out is that the house is in a rural location and therefore is not that well served by communications. mobile phones worked ok most of the time, there was also WiFi but at peak times it was quite slow.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: very comfortable excellent room friendly owner breakfast was very good
Cons: a bit out of the way nothing in the village
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely old country home, lovely tasty breakfast, (especially liked the mushrooms), all very, very peaceful, Alan was really helpful with advice about places to go and how best to get there. I really enjoyed my stay at Elm Grove and am recommending it highly. Thanks for everything.
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Elm Grove Country House is in a large area of land with tree lined drive, garden, tennis court and croquet lawn. My room was well appointed and the TV even had a DVD recorder. There was an extensive library of DVD’s in the sitting room to choose from. There was also a small bar where friends could gather for drinks and chat in the evenings. The bed was comfortable, the staff friendly and the breakfast excellent.
Cons: The weather was cold for the time of year and my room was chilly at times but there was a heater for me to use when needed as the central heating was not on.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The beautiful house is approached by a tree lined drive. We were welcomed by Jane with a pot of tea and a plate of Welsh cakes - very acceptable after a long journey. Jane, Alan and the ladies at breakfast were all superb. The tips on where to go, with supporting leaflets, each day in the breakfast room.
Cons: I can't think of anything I didn't like!

Pros: Great location, great staff. Room was single and a bit too small really but the owners made it as nice as they possibly could. The hotel had a small bar and even though not many of the other residents seemed to use it the owners still always kept it open and I was able to get a glass of wine if I wanted one. It was also very reasonable. Breakfast was optional and good value. The style of the hotel was quite relaxed but one of the owners was always around and I felt safe and looked after.
Cons: Single room was a bit basic and a bit too small but overall it was good value for money and the hotel overall was really nice.

Pros: We were given a high floor, which was a problem that we had to deal with, but it alright in the end, as we were hardly in the room. The mattress was not comfortable and the pillows were awful. The shower left a lot to be desired, however, we would consider this property again due to the friendly owner and location.
Cons: Mattress, pillows and unstable shower head. Taps are on the wrong sides (hot on the right rather than left.)

Pros: This guest house is in a superb position with the South beach at the end of the road and short walk the other way into town. Thanks to Joe for dealing with a few extras that were asked for and the brilliant Full English breakfast, which set us up for the day. Bedroom was excellent with really comfy bed, loads of draw space and big bathroom had a large shower, also found the fridge and safe very handy extras.
Cons: Only a small thing but towels could have been bigger and a bathroom shelf to put things on.

Pros: Room 2 - little bit dated, but very comfy.... hence we missed breakfast on the 2nd morning as we slept so well.....location was excellent.... and breakfast was superb.
Cons: Other guests in room 1 were a little inconsiderate by leaving their bedroom door slam every time they went out. Otherwise everything was perfect
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. The breakfast was brilliant. You're literally seconds from the South beach, so also in a great location. There is a real feeling of family pride in the b&b and their customer care. This to me really defines somewhere as being that little bit more special, and we would definitely stay here again.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beds were very comfotable, bedding fresh . Towells ultra white and fluffy...makes such a difference. Breakfast fabulous and staff so helpful and friendly.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff were tremendous, the communal areas of the hotel were wonderful. The location was spot on.
Cons: The lift smelt very damp and the room was smaller than expected with high noise levels on the roof above us due to the cliff location and high winds.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is excellent. A quick 10 min walk along the North Beach path into Tenby Centre. Having on-site car parking was great but it is a first-some-first served basis, which was a bit of a nuisance. On the upside, there was plenty of on-road free parking on the road outside the hotel AND a huge pay and display (outside/below/unseen) across the road of the hotel. The cleanliness of the public areas and rooms was excellent. A local singer ( 1950/60s tribute) forms entertainment on a Wednesday evening - initially I was a little sceptical and thought it would a bit naff - but actually really very good. Choice and quality of breakfast and the restaurant was excellent quality and value. One morning - we ordered breakfast and were promptly forgotten about. It was a busy morning, I must add. However the waiting and kitchen staff handled our bemusement with good humour and double portions. My mum and I were so busy chatting and catching up - that we only realised when I asked for extra tea! So we treated this rare oversight with a laugh with the staff. There is also a heated outdoor pool (I think it is only available may through to Sept/Oct), which I bitterly regret not trying. It was a busy little pool from 0800am (and early birds did use it) through till 8pm (and it was warm enough for swimmers who braved a short rain shower). Great hotel that will would definitely use again and would recommend.
Cons: A couple of small niggles rather than dislikes. Whilst our room was well serviced - our used toiletries were not refreshed for the 3 nights we were there. Which I thought was a bit odd for a hotel with otherwise very high standards across the board. The hotel is very dog-friendly - which is a huge advantage, but a couple of crying puppies/small dogs (???) along our corridor proved a little trying as I was trying to get an early night before the long drive home.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Tenby Beach
Cons: Coming home

Pros: Great location The views from outside patio area were fantastic
Cons: Nothing to dislike!!

Pros: Beautiful setting in the middle of a golf course. The meals are served in a conservatory overlooking the greens, stunning. There are plenty of sitting areas, a bar, a living room, etc. We had dinner one night at the restaurant and it was a delicious meal! Breakfast is excellent. As the hotel is a bit outside Tenby, you definitely need a car, but it's only an5 minute drive into town. Quiet and serene settings.
Cons: Unfortunately we had a room overlooking the back entrance to the kitchen. The van of the kitchen was just next to our window, it was shut down during the night, but if you have the chance, ask not to have the room called "Bedroom". The room itself is nice, the view and noise is unpleasant. We would definitely book a category higher, then you might get a room with a view.

Pros: Such a relaxing place with great friendly staff and excellent food

Pros: We thought the lady who prepared our room and served us breakfast was lovely. She took time to suggest places to visit and ask about our stay.
Cons: We were told our room would be accessible at 2.00pm we had to keep asking when it would be accessible. We had a faulty fan in the bathroom that was running all night , so quite annoying.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very peaceful outside sitting area with beautiful vistas across the golf course. Good variety on the dinner menu which was sourced locally. Presentation was excellent and service was friendly and attentive.
Cons: Flower pots at the entrance were stunning. Sadly the herb planters in front of the coach house looked neglected! Flower pots in this area would soften the heavy stonework.

Pros: Great hotel, friendly and welcoming staff. Great facilities at a great price.
7.1 Good
Pros: Breakfast was good. Plenty of choice. Staff were pleasant and helpful.
Cons: Our room was comfortable and looked like it had recently been refurbished but it was let down by the little things such as, a number of scuff marks on the wall, dirty cups and the furniture looked out of date/place and had water marks.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Staff were very attentive and friendly. Food in the restaurant was lovely
Cons: We felt that the hotel was expensive for what it was. Bathroom was dated. Shower was cold one morning and when we complained, we were told to wait for 10 mins for it to warm up. Housekeeping checked it and told us that we hadn’t ‘switched a button on’, but couldn’t show us where this button was? We heard that other guests were experiencing the same because there was an issue with the boiler. Honesty would have been best. Nice having s pool but again, building work was going on inside the pool area which looked messy. Our door was really difficult to open and the receptionist just showed us how to wiggle the key for 5 mins until it opens. Personally I feel that when I stay in a hotel, you don’t want the DIY niggles that you have at home! All the details were just not there for the price of the hotel.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Staff and comfort of leisure activities.
Cons: The entrance from the main road was dark and walking from the car to the main entrance at night was dangerous.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The room was stunning, the staff is kind and they provide good service, definitely I’ll come back.
Cons: The check out will be better at 12 and check in will be nice at 1.00 pm.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The break was taken at short notice and how glad I was that I picked Tudor Lodge. From the time we checked it was a pleasure to stay there. The room was large, clean and very comfortable with all the extras rolled in. We'd booked half board and the food did not disappoint. It was served with a smile and we were asked throughout if everything was okay with our meal and we had no complaints. It may have been a last minute choice but it will be our base of all our breaks in the Tenby area. Don't normally write reviews but this place deserves all the praise. Five Star

Pros: Our hosts were warmly welcoming and very obliging, making everything as easy and comfortable as they possibly could. Breakfast consisted of excellent ingredients, generous and was well cooked. More tea and toast arrived with the regularity of the 'Sorcerer's Apprentice!' The rooms are fresh & welcoming with complimentary hot drinks, biscuits & a basket of 'smellies'.
Cons: As we hadn't specified the need for few stairs and I have a 'wonky' knee we were given a second floor family room. Straight away were were offered another room on the first floor as it became available next morning - and our hosts moved our luggage and could not have been more helpful.

Pros: breakfast just right perfect location
Cons: very happy with all aspects of our stay
5.4 Okay
Pros: Nothing that I would say really liked
Cons: Noisy road that is very noticeable if rooms 4/5 Until late evening. You won’t like this. We asked within an hour of arriving for room change but could not be accommodated. Next to train line too so hear that as well. We also had an issue regards a noisy extractor fan left on in room next door which was my problem to sort out to knock on next door. Breakfast had sainsburys multi pack yoghurts which suggest not quality products. Only one juice choice. I can’t see why people say they would go back. Or rate this. We wanted to go back to previous b&b which was cheaper and we rated at 10/10
