Six-Country Tour in a Mercedes E-Class Diesel
Pros: Everything! The comfort, the ride, the performance, the navigation system which circumvented every traffic snarl and the fuel efficiency. As suggested by the title, this was a tour visiting/travelling through six countries beginning and ending in Switzerland. We did have a small incident requiring a tow truck - but SIXT was immediately on the phone and had the tow service at the scene within 45 mins. I am truly pleased with my SIXT experience and look forward to the next time.

They try to rip you off with bogus damage claims
Cons: I picked up the car at the airport and it already had a scratch in the front bumper. I reported the damage to the attendant and I was told that the damage was already inventoried and not to worry about it. I drove the car in Switzerland for several days and I was not involved in any accidents or caused any damage to the vehicle. Upon my return of the car at the airport, Sixt initiated a bogus accident claim even though I explained to the receiving attendant that I was not in an accident and that I had not caused any damage to the car.

Cons: Picture of car did not match what we received. Much smaller car. Added additional driver charge without our approval.

Drop off IN the airport
Pros: No fuss
Cons: Don't try dropping off car at the car rental centre on the airport perimeter, it is just a processing place for cleaning the cars. Drop off right in the airport where the car rental return signs take you to.

A very pleasant experience
Pros: - The staff in Zürich was very friendly, professional and accommodating, - The car clean and of recent manufacture with no issues during the two weeks stay - The rates are reasonable

Cons: - Sixt had no information about the insurance that I bought through the Kayak process (I wasn't even aware that this is not an insurance package from Sixt, but from another company) - I got a surprise car, and then it was unclear if the insurance would cover the value of the car, annoying

Pros: Rental staff gave us a free upgrade to a Mercedes Benz van.

Cons: Over-charged for the rental. Returned the car on schedule, but station closed early, door locked, no one around. Check-in time recorded was incorrect. Station also reported I indicated damage during the rental, yet there was no damage and I didn't report any. Follow-up asking for details is unresolved. Appears there was a shadow attendant who was careless about details, both check-in time and which car reported damage, etc.

Totally irresponsible! Sixt staff in Pfingstweidst
Pros: We could not rent the car we booked because they told us only when we arrived there that our reservation has been cancelled because the credit card for the booking was not under the name of the driver..They could have told us that earlier..Totally irresponsible..

Car was Great but I feel we were taken advantage o
Pros: The car was great! Super clean and the mileage was fantastic. We ended up driving around all of Switzerland on one tank of gas!
Cons: The car rental place ended up being a half hour from the airport so we had to walk with our backpacks all the way to the pickup location, which I initially thought was at the airport. When we got to location., our representative was very friendly but we came to learn that we needed to buy insurance for the car which I thought I had done when made the reservation. I saw a charge on my credit card for the initial insurance but never received the official email with them so we ended up paying double insurance. This is unacceptable! I would like to request a refund in some way for the inconvenience of paying double insurance.

Good price, better instructions required for where
Pros: Price was good, the car I was given was a 4x4 which was ideal as was heading up into the mountains.
Cons: The staff at Zurich airport were slow in dealing with other customers which meant I had to wait around 15 mins to be seen despite being the only person waiting. The instructions of where to find the car were not easy to follow which meant I had to go back to the desk and ask on of the staff members to show me to the car, they could be much clearer on this point.
