its size : not too big, although full, no feeling of being among big crowd.homely feeling, artbooks here and there displayed on coffeetables. Breakfast also very nice with fresh fruits and fresh orangjuice and excellent italian cuisine. the terrace is great for before ar after dinner evening drinks the works in front
Fantastic location, great building The service of the hotel staff during breakfast was poor.
Very nice room and friendly staff. We had a bathtub and no shower and when we tried to shower in the bathtub there was water everywhere in the bathroom.
The hotel is excellent! The staff very friendly and everything was amazing!!!I recomment to everyone to go!The restaurant that the hotel has,is one of the best restaurants I have ever been!I have no words to discribe the fantastic time I spent there with my wife!
The central location and the low price (which was a discount package) were the main advantages of the hotel. The bathrooms should be renewed and the common areas should be renewed. The staff could be increased.
The hotel is extremely convenient and is situated one road back from the port so it's quick and easy to find. The manager was extremely friendly and as I arrived early, at about 10h30 he was happy to give me access to my room. To be fair, I suspect that I was also the only guest at the hotel as not once did I see anybody else! I stayed in room 104 whihc overlooks the town square with a few restaurants immediately down below and the noise from the restaurantsd; the motor bikes and the packing up of the restaurants etc was extremely loud and therefore I think I managed a few hours sleep before the start of the opening of the restaurants at around 8 on the sunday morning. Also the bathroom is extremely small and the shower really consisted of a hand held shower head, and as there is no curtain or any sliding door, once you shower and especially while washing oyur hair, you tend to get everygthing else wet too. It was okay for one night but for anything longer, I would recommend paying a bit more and perhaps getting into a hotel with a proper bathroom.
The location was convenient as it was close to the beach and to the port so no taxi was needed. The hotel is in the centre which is always good for someone who doesn't know the island. The value for money was poor. It was too expensive for what it offers. Also it was very noisy as it was located at the central square of the area. The large number of rooms, and hence visitors, increased the noise inside the hotel as well. The bathroom was poorly illuminated and the ammenities were minimum. The breakfast was set (very simple, no buffet). The manager of the hotel did not accept cards and he forced us to pay cash without giving a receipt. Faros hotel is really a two star hotel although it was advertised as a higher rank hotel.
Location very close to harbor and in the town. Decoration, breakfast was poor, and the staff wa not very helpfull due to ignorance.
Hotel owner very welcoming. Beautiful pool amd garden immaculately maintained. Very good breakfast.
The apartment was very clean and comfortable and maintained very well. Maria and the staff were excellent and very welcoming and were very accomodating. Position was excellent and the pool area fabulous. Breakfast was served outside in the pool area and was both generous and very good quality. The Villa was very well suited to couples and families. My only disappointment with the villa was the size of the shower, it could have been a little larger.
Excellent staff, very receptive and helpful without being intrusive. The apartment was cleaned every day, with towel and linen change regularly. Good breakfast; The entire area was very clean and there was a lovely outside space, with pool, nice green trees etc. Great location as well. The sofa was not very comfortable for sitting on , and the balcony was really just a landing outside the door to the apartment - would not be enough room for 3 to sit there although the apartment was for 3 people.
I had a very pleasant stay at the Kastro Studio & Apartments, The staff were very friendly, and the hotel was well located for my short stay on Spetses, with a very nice breakfast by the pool in the morning, which I also made use of.
I was vey pleased with my stay there. The place was cosy and homy -and "typically greek". The owner and his family very nice and friendly people - who went out of their way to make their clients feel at home. I was i Spetses on a job - royal wedding - but would very much like to go back to Kastro privately. Stayed alone in studio for two. The garden with a pool and tables to have breakfast or a drink is a big + ! :-D I liked it all - only sorry that I could not stay longer! :-D
nice people who truly extend a helping hand when required, rooms clean, plenty of sheets and towels, convenient and cozy pool area with seating, wifi in all areas, good breakfast as all hotels in spetses its overpriced during high season, but in relation to other hotels a good choice
Very friendly staff who even picked us up when we arrived at the harbour. Good breakfast.
Friendly, nice view They didn't have our reservation. We booked thru booking.com. The mosquitos were horrible, the bed was horrible and the bathroom tiny
Just need to find Alasia travel agency close to the harbor and they drive you to the hotel with your luggage and take care of check in and out. Swimming-pool available.
Nice view from the second floor. Quiet. Too far away from the seaside, about 15 minutes on foot. Old hotel, needs renovation. Lack of profesionalism/ hospitality on some staff members. Breakfast very poor --> Bread & butter, boiled eggs, ham & cheese, marmelade, coffee & orange juice. They "asked" us to leave our room earlier on our departure, if we wanted to use the hotel's van to get our stuff to the port.
The fact we had 2 rooms (a small livingroom and a bedroom) It was very noisy and it was a little far away from spetses-town
Nothing The hotel is quite far from the center (you need a motorbike) and very difficult to find (in the evening we always lost the way). The room was very little (no place to open our luggage), the bathroom was crumbling and one evening we couldn't have a shower after the beach because there was no water. After one night, fortunately they gave us another room which was a little better.
Close proximity to town centre.Right on water front. Breakfast was poor
The staff was very accomodating, helpful.Location was convenient to town. Nice swimming.
Very good location ,very good service.
The breakfast was quite poor, With so much fresh fruit on offer on the Island surely you could offer guest more variety and the coffee was dire.
location, by the sea, private beach even though not a sandy beach, excellent staff, nice terrace for the meals with sea view the bathroom even though is clean, it is old and needs a renovation
the view not really
Everything was perfect: Place, Accomodation, Food, Staff A bit more emphasis cleaning the rooms seems me appropriate
It is more a hotel for families and groups not for single persons, actually Porto Heli has no night life
THe food was good. Staff were friendly and helpful. I thoought there was lots to do and a good atmosphere about the swimmimg pool.
Nice bar by the swimming pool. Please add room service!
I Liked the location . the service and the breakfast food Drinking water in the room.
Very helpful staff who listen listen to your requests and make solutions that are not standard solution. We used both the Beech and the Pool facilities both are good. Given the value for money one could not really fault the hotel except that the breakfast area is very crowded and they better go back to using the area one floor above which we used when we stayed there 3 years ago
everything was fine, from the front office desk till the service in the restaurant, swimming pool bar,all ok.This hotel is wonderful for some days rest
decent breakfast, nice view of the porto heli bay, good location needs renovation. the kids activities are poor, the linen and towels have to be replaced
It is a really quite place, not far from the city center, seashore and ring road around the island It was difficult to find the hotel because the map given on the site is incorrect. But the owner picked up us himself.
The location is excellent and the hotel and reception area look really nice. Even though one may say that the rooms are a bit small, in the end it doesn't really matter because they definitely serve the purpose. If you go to Spetses on holiday you will probably spend most of the time outside. This hotel is ideal for a beach holiday and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anybody who wants to go on holiday to Spetses. The location is perfect because it's only a 5 minute walk from the main road where all the restaurants and shops are but at the same time it's in very quiet location far from any noise.
only location rooms too small and old with no view
location, peacefull environment
Room and surroundings smell bad, our room (room no 7) was far too close to the reception desk and the open air lounge, so we could neither sleep due to noise, nor open the balcony doors, as everyone could see us - and even step into the room!
Owners went out of their way to help us - ie pick us up when we got lost and both find and take us to other accomodation when we asked to stay there a second night but they were full up. Lovely view from front balcony room.
We were given another room form what we had booked in the site. The room was just right the place where breakfast was served and extremely small. We were given another room but only after we asked for, which was better, but almost 500 metres far from the breakfast!!!!!!!! Breakfast (there is no buffet, they just bring you some slices of bread with butter and little cheese). Also the staff should be more professional in order to better serve the clients.
fighting with the receptionist-which was the only person we ever saw- for the dead mosqitos all over the walls and the dirty sheets in bed the rudness of the receptionist, the absent of any responsoible to solve our problems
Took our bags to and from the port, very close to the beach, fairly friendly staff. Room was small and quite uncomfortable, breakfast was a bit of bread, jam and yoghurt, not a lot of choice.
we enjoy very much our stay. It is a nice small family hotel.Ideal location, quite place but central ,cloced to the beach, local tavernas& restaurants.
Only there for one night. Staff were friendly and the location was pleasant.Buffet breakfast was better than some. Guests walking past could see into the room and it was therefore necessart to keep the shutter closed the whole time.
The young guy that worked in the office was very nice and helpful throughout the trip. The rooms were small but comfortable.
proximity to the beach I thought the hotel was way overpriced for what it was. If it had been 30 or 40 euros it would be fine because it was just a simple room with two beds and a bathroom but for 75 euros I would expect a little more... breakfast was horrible and the hotel was really noisy, no insallation between the rooms.
The meeting, greeting and transfer service was pleasant and reliable but... ... we had to ask a Greek friend to phone up for us to find out how to access the place, which is a 10 minute walk from the centre of Spetses Town. It would have been better to know this at the time of booking. The place was a bit like a ghost building as we were about the last guests at the close of season.
Peace and quiet and the fact towels etc changed each day. For the few days I was there no complaints.
The room was very clean. Also the view from our balcony was very nice. We didn't have breakfast but other residents told us that the breakfast was good. In addition, the guy at the reception at Dapia harbour was very polite and helpful. Finally, I love it when the rooms have air-conditioning because it's terrible to sleep without one in the heat. The hotel was ok but definitely not worth the money. The room was small and a little claustrophobic. Maybe it was just our room, it doesn't mean that every room in the hotel is like that. Also, it's far away from the old harbour and even though there are some restaurants close by and one bar (that closes early), all the bars are in the old harbour and you need to have a motorcycle to go there. We had to take a taxi every day because, although the area seems very safe, we didn't want to walk 30-40 minutes in the dark. This means that we had to pay 20 euros every day for the taxi alone. It's ok if you only want to go to the Dapia harbour because that is around 10-15 minutes walk away.
Breakfast, very poor..
Small but clean and nice designed rooms, quite convenient location, fair breakfast, friendly stuff, nice garden with free wifi Thin walls, some motorbike traffic on the road adjacent to the hotel
We loved the kindness and attention from Maria and her family, as well as the perfect rooms and facilities.
The hotel, tailored for real human needs. Spacious, natural, relaxed... ...no
Good breakfast, nice view from the room(i recommend 4th or 5th floor), nice swimming pool area, kind hotel receptionists. But i would rather say it`s 3, not 4 star hotel For eight hours we were waiting for cold water in the bathroom cause it was just hot!!!Finally they said they`d fixed it but during shower after some minutes it turned into extremely hot. At the end they changed the room. Unfortunately the new one was soaked with cigarette smoke what for my pregnant wife was difficult to accept.it`s not worth 4 stars!
Very nice room view, huge underground car parking, great swimming pool. Room service and/or food/snacks availability should be extended to cover afternoon hours as well.
Plenty of space to relax. Convenient to sea and within walking distance of the Port.
Facilities including the breakfast.
The hotel is very well-maintained and charming. The pool is small but adequate for the size of the hotel. Each room seems to be unique so its hard to say which one would be better or worse. The mattress is very comfortable but other than that I can't recall any other "luxuries" that would justify the cost. The staff was very polite, friendly & helpful. The hotel's location is ideal as it is quiet but you can get to the town center on foot within a few mins. Lots of steps to get to the hotel and lots of steps to get to the room which made it very difficult considering we had to carry our suitcases all the way up! I guess that's to be expected of Greek island hotels though!
Everything was perfect, we loved the breakfats on the pool side and relazing on the pool. The room was great, clean and bed so comfortable, to die for.
Nice installation, proximity to nearby beach.. Hot water not always available
Nice, comfortable environment. Very helpful staff.
Helpful owner, good beach nearby and good restaurants near. Room spacious and clean, breakfast was fine despite previous reviews
The room was clean when we arrived, no cleaning service provided through the stay though,The beds were comfortable, even we asked for a double bed and not for two singles putted together . Very bad breakfast, no information, you have to wonder around top find the owner to ask some information, bar was closed most of the time, Overrated and did not reached the recommended expectations
friendly service and beautiful upgraded room
