Bed was gorgeous and the grounds & setting very smart, but relaxed not applicable
Excellent rooms and facilities. The restaurant was particularly good.
Friendly, warm and attentive staff without being intrusive. Qualityof food excellant
Location The plug in the bath in the room got stuck and was unable to drain bath. After reporting this to reception it took far too long for anyone to arrive to fix. This they couldn't do so i had to take a shower in another spare room the following morning. Evening meal room service was poor - quality of food very disppointing and very expensive for what it was!. Overall there was very little feeling of any welcome from staff and politeness was not something they adhered to. Hardly any appology for inconveinec with room
pleasent staff and very posh but comfortable hotel
over-pretentious chef. excellent quality, but too nouvel cuisine
Relaxing, Comfortable very well looked after, Very good food on both nights stayed. Hotel was fairly empty as booking covered the early part of the week
I myself did not stay, I had booked for one of my bosses, but he came back strongly recommending the hotel for future use. Liked everything
The location Limited menu
pleasant surroundings room smelt of strong disinfectant
Comfortable bed. Nice breakfast, very healthy.
Fresh milk provided Website didn't make it clear that you needed to prebook continental breakfast. Hospitality basket had not been replenished from previous occupant so had to seek out someone for coffee etc. Was provided with cereal and milk for no charge as basket had not been replenished.Shower rather grimy.
very quiet - good access to the west midlands - friendly staff Ironically, no access to a hot breakfast
Comfortable and well-equipped room. Ample and healthy breakfast. Easy to find. Easy parking.
Breakfast in our room no
Peace and quiet of rural location Lack of staff and open reception on arrival.
The room was lovely and light and had a lot of facilities Staff were all lovely and helpful too Small refund made for staff entering my room while I was still in bed! No wifi which was advertised and a reason why I book hotels Tv reception terrible, most channels pixelated so badly you could not watch them Male staff walked in while I was in bed (on my own) apologised and left. Was a shock to me and he should have known I hadn't checked out.
Primarily its location. It was very quiet at night thereby ensuring a good night's sleep. The Limes is very dated and needs a bit of a refurb. Our room was far from clean.
Great location for Midlands business trips, helpful staff. Its for the independant guest and perfectly suits our needs.
friendly atmosphere no
The Limes provided us with a relaxed stay, a perfect room and a gorgeous breakfast. We will be definately staying there again.
The relaxed atmosphere and friendliness of staff.
helpfull staff, good food, easy parking no
Excellent value for money on the price we paid. Plenty of available car parking space. Friendly and helpful staff. Good location to Birmingham and walking distance to Touchwood shopping centre. Good breakfast and leisure centre. Its was cold. Very cold in the corridors and room was cold, as the heating system was not working. Vector heaters had already been given out, but extra blankets were delivered to our room very promptly. Only heating in the room was the bathrooms towel rail.
Lobby bar, reception service. No service at breakfast, cold plates, had to ask twice for tea, then had to get own cups, knifed forks ect... Off other tables, in view of waiters who did or said nothing. Room smelt damp and looked a little dated.
We were close to the NEC (attending Crufts) Hotel easy to find, we were made welcome - no charge for our dog, (unlike most hotels/travel lodges). Breakfast delicious and service excellent! Had slight problem with leak on shower attachment (got soaked!) and bath taps a bit strange.
No draught beer
Food okay Reception - bloody slow. Bar - cold and slow servioce.
Good value at £59 but not if if it was dearer Standards have slipped in last 3 years Breakfast not so good No biscuits in rooms Had the nerve to charge residents to park there!
Good price, in a good location, it had very comfortable beds and pillows, nice fire in the bar. Buffet breakfast not great, the food was served too cold. And the temperature in the bar was too cold also.
It was clean and the staff were very professional It wasn't quite the style that I usually go for and it didn't translate well into the pictures on the website - the bathroom was like something out of a horror movie circa 1972 - needs updating!
Hotel staff were friendly, good location, spacious room after upgrade, child friendly, good gym Hotel room could have been cleaner, pool times for children were limited
Nice setting, good facilities Room was a bit small. Cold water tap did not work.
Building and garden are fantastic. The waiters for the dinner took good care of us, very professional. The swiming pool was open for children (ours were 11 and 13) only a very reduced period (apparently only from 14-17h), as if tourists are going to be in the hotel in that part of the day. The worst: this was apparently done to keep the "swiming pool members" (not customers of the hotel) happy and calm so they can have a quiet swim after their work.
good location, lovely grounds, although could do with some care and attention, beautiful old manor house. staff on reception need need more customer care training, ignored my wife completely thoughout the checking in process, although better on checkout.
The Gym.swimming pool etc. Kept waiting 45 minutes after given menu for evening meal, breakfast was until 10, they had cleared it by 9.45.
The size of the room.Well spaced out.Good food.Very curtious staff. The price of G and Ts.The lighting good have been better in the room. The wife also says that the facilities to do her make-up werent to clever. She likes to sit by a mirror.Obviously this did not affect me.
Gorgeous hotel! My room was absolutely fabulous and comfortable. The bed was fantastic, bathroom was great. I have enjoyed my stay and I would recommend this hotel to anyone without any hesitation.
Nothing stands out . The breakfast was every day was cold and very confusing having three rooms ,all the food should have been in one room not two.
The general feel of the Manor was lovely. It was offset in beautiful countryside and was peaceful and serene. The little outhouse where my boyfriend and I stayed was modern and cozy. The main part of the house was overflowing with character and had an antique feel. I do not have a bad word to say about Billesley Manor
Too quiet no sky TV
breakfast the room wasnt cleaned ready for when we got there.
Hotel adequate for short stay. Location excellent for our needs Unfortunately heater set on fire in room but staff moved us to another room, but no heating in this room. Staff very helpful.
Friendly and helpful staff Everything else
1 Good suroundings 2 there was no hot water on the first night. When I complained they listened and chnaged my room. The duty manager was very helpful. The bar food and the attitude of the staff serving: 1 They brought two courses of hot food together, when I asked them to keep the main course warm while I ate the starter, they said they were too busy. I complained to the duty manager and she also thought it was ok! to serve two hot courses together and said they were busy. The attitude from the serving staff, was very take it or leave it. On the second night I went out for a meal, which frankly was inconvenient.
All the staff were very friendly. The bar was not well stocked, not very warm, and not very comfortable. The wifi didn't work.
easy to get to. Food good. Most staff bright and helpful. The hotel may be in the middle of a face lift. Although the room was clean - the decor - bathroom etc needed some attention and the entrance and stairs (which could be quite impressive) need decorating.
Although I was only there for an overnight stay, I was very impressed with all of the staff that I had contact with! They were very friendly and efficient! Nothing.
The friendliness of staff and value for money, it is in a transition period & I would expect it to be even better in the future. This is not a dislike but I would have liked it more if it had a makeover!
lovely location and grounds, thursday steak night was great value for money, and the staff were freindly and helpfull.
One morning there was no hot water at all. I could have done with this resulting in a voucher, specific apology, note through door or whatever.
The restaurant was excellent.
Friendly staff, nice atmosphere in bar and restaurant
Your staff where extremly corteous, and helpfull;what amazed us was even at half past six in the morning they where able to greet their guests with a smile, something which is seldom found these days.THe food was excellant, and was extremly tasty, the breakfast was extremly good, and a good selection Yes,the bed was extremly uncomfortable, well past its sell by date, the toilet paper was not exactly user friendly, and all though we welcomed the sight of the toilet being well disenfected, the aroma of the brand was extremly over powering,a more pleasanter aroma would have been more welcoming
The reception was very efficient and pleasant, the room was fresh and overlooked the car park and all requirements were there. Unfortunately, five minutes after I settled down to make a cup of tea, there was a power cut. Although the staff were helpful, this incident showed up some shortcomings. Viz. The staff had no means of keeping the residents informed (telephones were out of action) and there was no emergency lighting in the rooms. We were issued with candles but I thought this was dangerous and made me question whether the fire alarms had emergency power or not.
Very good rooms Just English breakfast available
Very friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere, spacious room, dog friendly, and spacious grounds for the dog to have a run.We had a meal at the bar which was very good and reasonably priced. The old wing is looking a little tired
The rooms were bright and clean. The breakfast was great giving a wide choice. The staff were both friendly and helpful
the staff were helpful and efficient, food was of high quality and the hotel was spacious and clean
The Grounds .Nice walks. We have stayed at the hotel twice before and found this visit sub standard.lift not working ,should of been given room away from decorators as hotel was not busy.view from room was awfull.
The staff were very welcoming and accommodating. The waitress in the restaurant took time to explain the attractions in the area. The manager gave us a tour of the castle and explained the history. He also went out of his way to answer all of our questions. The receptionist helped us research our accommodation for the following night as well. The staff were exceptional! There was nothing bad about the hotel.
I was extremly dissapointed with the room provided, it was very small and very basic. The bed was old and the matress was very worn and uncomfortable. The shower rarely worked and when it did it leak very badly. The windows were permanently locked and the wadrobe doors were falling off. Their was no remote control for the television. The carpet was dirty.
On arrival for my whole group we were not made to feel welcome by the reception staff. We were given a small lounge to have our first meal in with different levelled tables to each other. We then had to ask for bar and wine service and ask for someone to bring us a menu. Our food was not very warm at all on the first night. The second night we were again in a side lounge because they had another wedding going on. The waiting service was excellent on the second night. When we were checking out no one asked us if we had had a good break because we felt no one really wanted to know or cared. Our family was celebrating my parents 50th wedding anniversary and we certainly enjoyed each other company but were extremely disappointmented at the hotel
impressive and imposing dining room, lounge and approach to the building my room had not been prepared since the last occupant
Relaxing country atmosphere, Easy access to Cotswalds
The surroundings, the hotel itself, the room, the food, all very good not really no
Fab Brilliant superb. Staff went out of their way and was always smiling, nothing too much for them even the Management could not do enough and helped in everyway possible. Keep up the good work. Could do with trellis/plants to hide conference, prefab rooms.
Good rate, its a castle! Nice big room food was brought fast and was hot Rang to see if everything was ok in room. Wi fi Bottle of beer was expensive in bar, small tv in room, shower not very fast
Good staff all round nice room Dangerous kettle that was red hot although in the off position !!!! no window secutity ie, screw missing on the window handle, no mobile signal, no wi fi signal other than that great
Poor rooms badly maintained, i booked 12 rooms for colleagues, no hot water in the morning. scruffy rooms.
Receptionist very welcoming and helpful Room was small. The room back on to a main road which was very noisy. The windows should be double glazed.
The room was lovely, really enjoyable stay especially with room service The door to the room was a very drafty and you could hear the traffic from the road very easily, maybe heavy duty fire door should be fitted to prevent the draft and noise
clean room & comfy bed drinks expensive in bar
breakfast exellent, very clean and staff very helpful. the jaccuzi bath did not work. the bed was uncomfortable, no dinner available.
Plenty of parking. Comfortable room, plain but with workdesk and chair so fine for my business use. Friendly staff and really nice bar food. Good buffet breakfast with free newpapers available to read. An observation rather than a dislike, but the hotel feels rather empty as there never seem to be many guests. I've stayed here many times so that hasn't put me off. It would be better if the WiFi signal reached all the rooms.
Expensive drinks. Moderate food
Friendly, helpful staff, quiet, clean, comfortable and well located, close to the motorway without being next door and easy to find.
Bright clean room
Beautifull location extensive grounds river view Room ok but in need of modernisation
Fantastic setting great staff and superb breakfast
Very friendly, helpful staff. It's agreat location and the bar food was very good and good value for money My room was quite small, very dusty and there was no kettle/ tea/ coffee facilities. The curtains collapsed on me when I tried to pull them. Very poor at £70 a night I think.
It looks impressive when arriving up the drive The attitude of the owner was appalling...and I mean appalling. it was like checking into a squalid b&b in some seedy backstreet where the room key is literally thrown at you. serious attitude problem. Checking out was like the Marie Celeste...nobody whatsoever to be found in the reception, bar or restaurant. Mattress in room wafer thin.
The mill has plenty of character, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Ideally located for Ragley Hall. A little difficult to get to without a car.
Beautifull setting and surroundings. Also the building had great charactor Unable to open windows as they were fixed, and due to staying on the hottest weekend of the year, the room was exceedingly hot.
The only let down we felt no tea or coffee in the room. But great breakfast
superb location great service good restaurant.fantastic views over the mill The flies in the bar but this time of year difficult to control.
Liked the location and the hotel itself was lovely There were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room and there was no shower, only a bath in the ensuite.
A lovely hotel in a nice quiet location. The staff were very helpful and the room was very comfortable.
Staff were fantastic...rooms were very comfortable. Food amazing!
Friendliness of all the staff
lovely meal -friendly staff
The grounds were lovely. The Bed extremely comfortable and it was great having a Jacuzzi, although it was very noisy
The hotel was as always excellent. The staff were very friendly and professional, and when in the area again will book Hogarths.
Easy parking. Luxurious room. Friendly staff. Lovely grounds.
Helpful, approachable staff. Modern decor & food to very good standard in a traditional setting. Close to nec but in a quiet, country location. Comfortable rooms. Room could do with air conditioning
Staff were extremely attentive without being intrusive.
Top hotel , great location . room spotless and modern , recommended all round .
Manager very polite & helpful as I needed to use their facilities to search the internet, also apologised for not being at the hotel on our arrival. No staff on site on arrival- had to telephone & wait 15 minutes. No towels in one bedroom, dirty ashtray in bedroom drawer & broken toilet seat. Shower holder unsafe, water scalding; burnt feet whilst adjusting shower temperature. Shower leaked very badly. Room noisy from traffic & planes, no curtains in room to shut out light from street lighting.Fire alarm system in fault- panel continually beeping! Wallpaper hanging off walls- held up with cellotape- general decor & fittings very poor & old; needing refurbishment.
Though there were few amenities, we did get an alarm clock to wake us, thankfully. The food in the restaurant was okay. Our needs were attended to just fine. We were assigned to a smoking room, ugh. The waitress at dinner did not seem to see that we needed forks etc. to eat with. It happened twice. No elevator. The taxi cost bucks to the airport.
Evening Meal very good value for money, if you like curry. Poor decorative finish to room Carpet in bathroom - very unhygenic Very expensive for standard of hotel Breakfast could be improved
Friendly and helpful staff a well cooked 'English' breakfast was offered in addition to the 'continental one that we expected from the website information.
Excellent hotel with very good food and very friendly staff
Man on Night Reception was extremely helpful and very curteous The cooked Breakfast took over 20 minutes to arrive, and when it did the scrambled eggs were over-cooked, the tomato was of poor quality, I was under the impression that it was supposed to be a fast service!
The staff were excellent, very helpful & friendly. The food was also excellent in the Brewers Fayre. Lots of stairs, had to get a member of staff to let me through to the restaurant to avoid stairs. They were very happy to do it, but felt I was imposing on them.
The bed was extremely hard and the pillows were very uncomfortable - I woke up on the hour every hour - it was liking sleeping on a balloon
Staff were extremely friendly and helpful and went out of their way to help us as we had arrived at 11.15pm
The bedroom and bathroom were clean and fresh. Breakfast was the usual good standard and the staff were very pleasant. The room allocated to me in the hotel was over the bar of the pub which is part of the hotel and which did not turn off the music until midnight and the light outside the room, (very bright yellow) was turn off at about 1am. The bed was very hard with little comfort. I had a ver poor night,s sleep, certainly the worst I have experienced at a Premier Inn. I recommend to anyone else that yu request a room at the back of the hotel which may be quieter.
All contacts with staff were good. Especially so the receptionists. I can appreciate you wanting to look 'green' but do bear in mind that some people wish to relax on the bed and read with decent illumination. You can't do that with the available lighting, only place being the desk, sitting on a hard chair
Being able to go from our room to the dining room without going outside into the freezing cold! Noise of other people going along the corridors and talking in the early hours and the beds were so hard!
The hotel was friendly, clean and comfortable. Well situated for visiting friends
Although the Ramamda double booked me they could not have been more accomodating. They sorted the problems out efficiently and I was given an executive room. The hotel is very close to town and the staff are friendly. Only problem was during my checkout; their was only one lady at the desk (she got flack for this) and it took 45 minutes to check-out, however stayed calm and tried her best. Breakfast a little dry but not horrible!
position of hotel
It was within walking distance of good shops, pubs and night life The bed,s were very hard
Very nice staff Therooms are very dated - No double glazing so quite noisy and the TVs are very dated and often stop working.
The hotel provided an excellent base for a visit to Solihull for a personal visit for the funeral of a close friend. The standard of the hotel was not my highest priority. The strange arrangement of the car park and getting parking tickets validated.
Staff very friendly Double bed was 2 single mattresses pushed together, no fitness facilities
The friendlyness of the staff. Especially at Breakfeast .Asthey were very busy but coped very well .
Not alot poor reception service
Convenience and location for the NEC. Excellant accces to Solihull shops.
Cleanliness of hotel...staff were friendly Paying for Parking at the Hotel £8 per car per night
The suite was fabulous and made our visit There was a large party staying and that meant we were in able to get a table for dinner.
The location is very good for the city centre and airport I found the staff very disinterested in their clients.
Hotel was easy to locate. Room had everything necessary for an overnight stay. None
room service was very poor. If number was answered it seemed staff were too busy to also have to do roomservice, therefore it was late or not responded to.
access to pool emptiness of restaurant
The restuarant was very good and the service here was wonderful (in the restaurant) The room was filty, in total disrepair and not what it was advertised to be at all. The termperature of the room could nto be controlled at all and the rooms were stifling hot.
the location the bed linen was dirty, the mattress was very old and uncomfortable. We couldnt get through to room service, the operator or reception for 20 minutes. The room service staff were rude, the food was extremely poor. The room was very small and not worth £59, it was also unclean, and our food was left in the corridor for 12 hours.
The gym didn't open until 7, which is quite late
Suitable location and car parking satisfactory- Breakfast was a complete failure due to lack of freshly cooked items without having to wait considerable time. Noise from other activity booked into hotel.
Despite twice speaking to the same person on reception in the early part of the evening, to report the bathroom light was not working this was not fixed. We could therefore not shower in the morning as the bathroom was in complete darkness. We were looking forward to our stay and were very disappointed. What a shame as we would now aviod making another booking at the Corus chain of hotels.
Was good value for money The decor in the rooms especially bathroom could have done with modernisation
Friendly helpful staff First room that I occupied, the heating was not functioning. After checking by staff I was moved to another room. Negative followed by a positive
We loved the hotel and the room - talk about comfy! Disappointed with the onsite pub but verve was outstanding. The onsite pub food.
After check in, my husband had to leave the hotel to meet some of his family. I was left in the room alone. It was during this time that a maintenance man knocked on the door. I found this to be strange as no one had said anything to us when we checked in and there were not any problems with the room / facilities. When I questioned him why he wanted access to our room he became incredibly cagey and nervious and said he would call back later and left as quickly as possible. he was not in any kind of uniform / had any id.
We enjoyed the starbuck in the hotel, gym facilities were good. Staff on reception were helpfull, trying to book us in early but in the end had no twin available until the normal check in. The locker in the gym would not open, the key was stuck, we waited over 10 mins for assistant. In the end we managed to open our selves and didn't see any member of staff. So they would have left us for over 20mins sitting in a towel in the changing room. No hairdryer in the bedroom, on requesting this at the reception we still waited over 20min, so agian delaying us for our breakfast. Seating in the bar area was stained and at the breakfast area.
Quiet, except at breakfast time and in the restaurant. The televisions in public places had the sound off, for the most part. Meals available without having to go out. Essential as there was nowhere close enough to walk to. Use of a decent length swiming pool. In a handy location for my meeting. Cleaning and hovering whilst having breakfast. Showerhead only operating on a few jets. Poor lighting and high sound levels in the restaurant (not helped by the background musak). In answering 'yes' to the next question, that is a 'maybe'; it depends on the alternatives next time I have to spend a night in the vicinity. Small portions and bread or potatoes only supplied as an extra. In adequate warning of the credit card charge on the booking page and the amount was not included when asked to confirm on check-out on the website. The first I knew about it was when checking in at the hotel an saw and extra £2 on top of what I thought the room rate was. Television screens everywhere, tuned to different channels, are distracting. Nobody seemed to be looking at them, so do we need them ?
Great hotel Should be 5 star
The room was very comfortable, staff were well trained, helpful, polite and cheerful. The restaurant was first class and parking was plentiful and convenient. The location was a little sterile (middle of a commercial estate) but overall - excellent. The thing I liked least was that there was only one lft, but in truth it wasn't a problem, just a little surprising.
relaxing in plasant surroundings-allways enjoy use of facillities...good location for local attractions etc
Very welcoming. Staff helpful and friendly. Hotel very clean and comfortable. Facilities excellent. None
The parking was free. Restaurant staff very attentive. Good breakfast. There were no toiletries in the room and when we asked for some soap, we were told that they were not supplied, but there was a soap dispenser in the shower. This entailled climbing into the bath to get to it but was empty anyway. Had we known this when we booked, we would have brought our own soap - so be warned. We had booked a meal deal which was advertised as a 'free meal on the first night'. It turned out not to be free. We were given vouchers which paid for some of it, but had to make up the difference with cash. Reception staff were not very helpful.
