This hotel is the best in Swellendam, if I may believe the many local people I talked with. Dave and Amanda are incredably friendly, and welcomed me into their house as if I was an old and dear friend. I certanly recommend this hotel !
Very nice owners who deeply care for their guests and who do their best to make your stay the best
Dave & Amanda were very welcoming and keen to help us make the most of our stay. The themed room was thoughtfully decorated. The garden was lovely with good views of the mountains. Breakfast was huge. Breakfast was so big we couldn't eat it all - didn't like the thought of all that food being wasted.
The hosts were fantastic, we really felt at home. The location was superb, so was the view from the garden. Great breakfast
Nice and quite house in a street overlooking town. Very friendly hosts. Wonderful atmosphere. Not anticipating security situation in South Africa - even in a quite and peaceful place there are criminals...I suggest to review security features...
The Welcome from Amanda and Dave was warm and friendly and they were extremely helpful. The Zebra and Leopard rooms are a treat! A must stay.
Just a note to say Impangele is not a hotel but rather a very freindly, tastefully decorated B & B, in keeping with the african spirit. It will definitely be where we stay when we pass through Swalendam again.
Friendly, relaxed welcome from the owners.
The owners Dave and Amanda were superb during our stay as they were so helpful and friendly Only the weather as they have a lovely outside breakfast area with great views which we couldn't make use of.
The Hotel was in an idilic setting and offerred complete relaxation. The swimming pool was inviting and the little touches helped make the stay so enjoyable.
The owners here had put so much thought and effort into making this stay so memorable. The attention to detail was amazing and the service just perfect. The rooms and pool were kept immaculately and the staff were superb. The owner even drove out to collect us one evening when we missed a turning whilst walking home and weren't sure which way to get back!! There is nothing we could fault about this guest house and it lives up to its name as a luxury estate. Would highly recommend it to anyone and would certainly go back.
It was clean but extremely remote There is only 1 room with a balcony and the location is totally isolated - there was hardly a car on the village street at 9pm.
What a lovely place. The hosts were really nice, very friendly and helpful. The suggested and even booked a lovely restaurant for us. The also upgraded us to a wonderful room as it was my wifes birthday. a great stay and would definatly recomend and want to return
The general decor. Comfy and stylish room. Tranquil atmosphere. Really lovely breakfast
We only stayed one night however our impressions were that of an extremely well run professional establishment. The hosts provided 'the breakfast' of our whole RSA trip.
This beautiful period cape dutch hotel is a real treat. The hosts were very friendly. The hotel and its grounds are gorgeous. A really nice place to stay. My wife found the bed a bit soft. Coffee not so good. That's all i can think of so, it shows it must have been good!
Beautiful location. Room presentation. Helpfulness of staff.
I was really pleasantly surprised with the whole experience and the Hosts/owners of De Kloof are really caring people genuinely interested in the well being and comfort of their guests.
Very clean, well appointed. Breakfast was fantastic.
design, little touches would have liked a breakfast menu, did not know what was on offer
Super relax stay, hospitality you like to have, friendly staff and big clean rooms in an unique zen-like surrounding.
beautiful setting with views to mountains
Warm reception and attentive manager, well presented accommodation and facilities. Helpful with regard to surrounding area substantial breakfast menu. No
friendly owner nobody at the hotel reception after hours to att to my complaint breakfast not up to standard for such an expensive guest house
A very welcoming, relaxed, guesthouse in a quiet but convenient location. The hosts provided a braai on the evening that we stayed and this made for a very companionable atmosphere and a nice opportunity to meet other guests. It was very interesting to be in a residential area and to get a feeling for every day life in Swellendam. The swimming pool is tiny ( did not matter to us as it was raining!). As it was a one night stop-over, we chose the smallest room which was significantly cheaper than the others. It was acceptable but lacked natural light and air. That said, it did live up to expectations
A stunning house, beautiful room. Charming touches such as a snack bag on departure.
It was like being at somebodies home. Very nice and cute and very cosy
We were very pleased when we arrived on such a hot day that the air.con.was already switched on for us. Our breakfast was excellent and table presentation was lovely no
We spent only one night which we enjoyed- location is good -nice and quiet- pity about the swimming pool but guess that was in the lap of the gods N/A
Pleasant owner and lovely accommodation, with the town and nature reserve nearby.
I explored the town, visited the museum and visited the local restuarants all very enjoyable.
very friendly staff and the brreakfast was as good as it gets.
the owners were very friendly and try every thing to make our stay very pleasant no, nothing. Every thing was perfect
Friendly service, attention to detail, incredible room with stunning comfortable four-poster bed and heated blanket, excellent breakfast, and I scoffed the entire jar of amazing home-made shortbreads with a glass of sherry and a Cadbury's hot chocolate... Bathroom could do with a radiator!
Very friendly hosts.Great welcome.Fantastic breakfasts.Accommodation first class.
This guest house is an excellent place to stay at, while you are in Swellandam. The accommodation and the food where excelent. Would have liked to see a little bit more of the oweners.
It was a perfect stay due to the commitment and attitude of the owners and staff
Lovely restored property, friendly helpful ovwners, welcome cheese platter and drink on arrival, splendid breakfasts, free internet, daily car wash and a large bath!
This is a beautifully restored Victorian house. In building the new guest rooms Alison & Richard have given meticulous attention to detail - but whilst immensely professional it is at the same time very friendly and relaxing. Alison does the most fantastic breakfasts! We loved it.
Fantastic place in cute little town of Swellendam, perfect stop over in garden route / wine route holiday. The owner welcomed us very friendly and gave the whole place a very personal touch. Rooms are top quality, quiet, great pool aea and good restaurants on walking distance. Trekking trails - long or short - in nature reserve close by.
The room was comfortable. When we arrived at the Guesthouse B & B (it is NOT a hotel) @ 2pm, there was a big for sale sign on display and the Guesthouse was locked, we phoned them, and they told us they be back in an hours time ,because they wasn't expecting us so early!!
Excellent accommodation and very helpfull and friendly staff. Lovely setting and surroundings.
Decor, neatness, cleanliness
We were made to feel very welcome by friendly and good service Our room was next to entrance with no fixed wall and thus we heard everything going on outside and in breakfast room
Clean, adequate facilities, friendly and helpful owner. Good value for money.
The hosts were very friendly and helpful with restaurant recommendations. The room was quite nice as well...all in all, a wonderful night's stay in an interesting town.
Nice clean room. The hotel owner welcomed us and lit all the candles in the garden, though we were the only guests. Nice breakfast with fresh fruit in the garden. The room was rather small. The plumbing of the toilet was old and made a loud and strange noise. There is no private patio. We were the only guests, but if there were others it might have been crowded in the garden/common room.
Very comfortable and complete!
Welcoming and friendly owners. Wonderful breakfast.
The room and garden were beautiful and the host and hostess were very helpful No hot water when we were going to shower
The location is quiet and peaceful depstire being close to good transport links. The owners were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The guesthouse has excellent grounds with excellent large rooms.
Filip & Marion were wonderful hosts. Great breakfasts. Filip great knowledge of area & planned a wonderful day driving trip for us. no
We had a wonderful stay at Marula Lodge. The owners of the guest house were very welcoming, friendly and looked after us very well. Would definitely recommend.
Very friendly and helpful couple and a inclusive atmosphere. njoyed our stay in a handy location on South Africa's garden Route.
