Austin manager screamed at me when disputing extra charges.Reviewed 1 Nov 2024

The first car had drugs, some white powder substance. I only found one individual baggie but that was enough. It took a while to get exchanged. I did get another SUV and got it home to realize the key fob was slowly dying. Over the course of four days, it got to the point where I couldn’t lock or unlock the vehicle and it wouldn’t recognize the key fob while driving. I had to exchange it. I take it an hour back to the airport. They try to put another battery in it and that doesn’t work. So it’s something computer related with the fob. They say, “No problem, we will exchange it.” Great! I got another vehicle and it worked out. However, when I turned in the final vehicle I got a bill for a transfer fee and a few other fees I already paid with the original purchase. The problems here are, the drugs cost me a lot of time and they weren’t even going to compensate me at all. They ended up just giving me a voucher. The key fob issue was a huge inconvenience because I was going camping so I got the car very early so I could pack based on the vehicle I got. I did that. I packed everything. I was ready to go and couldn’t lock or unlock the car. I can’t go on a camping trip with something like that! It’s not safe or reasonable. It delayed my trip by about five hours. I had to unpack the SUV and repack it, with no help from the rental car company. The worst part was they charged me for a transfer but not until I returned the final vehicle.Reviewed 27 Oct 2024

The car was from Florida, the tires have +42K miles on them, Kentucky get lots of rain, the low tread depth is not adequate in moderate to heavy rainfall (hydroplaning). Ok for more miles in climate area like Arizona. I have lots of driving experience with various tires in extreme weather conditions these type of tires are not safe for this climate region in the fall.Reviewed 22 Sept 2023

Cons:Upon arrival, they did not accept our reservation through Kayak because the person on the reservation was not present. We tried MULTIPLE times to adjust the reservation to reflect the change in driver through kayak. Kayak was never available to do so. Because of kayaks lack of adequate costumer service, Thrifty made us make a different reservation. They charged us an OBSENE price for an average car. I understand Thriftys policy. Our frustration is with kayak and their horrible customer service.Reviewed 23 Apr 2021

Pros:Car was okCons:1. Arrived Friday evening. There was a 1 hour wait in line to get a car. Thrifty shares space in the garage with Hertz et al and there was just one man behind the counter. Unbelievably bad service. Waited longer in line than the drive to Clarksville. 2. Upon return, I didn't have time to fuel the car. Knew it would be costly, but it didn't help that they lied on the form and said they had to put 18 gallons in it. The gas level was at half. Do Kia's really have 36 gallon tanks?Reviewed 23 Mar 2021

Pros:I liked the drop off more than the pick up. The lady acted as if she didn’t want to be there. She was ok nice. Definitely not the worse but just made me feel like I was a burden to her.Cons:Overall ok I will rent again but wish I could have been more comfortableReviewed 7 Mar 2021
