Pros: The dinner was excellent and very good value for money. 50 metres from Chateau Villandry means location is excellent too.

Breakfast was likewise. The owner was very helpful with where to visit locally & there was a tourist information office about 200 metres away. Local wines & beers available. Lovely Chateau 300metres away, but too many steps for us.

Pros: Our family room truly was fit for a family - included 2 ensuite bathrooms! The hotel is a stone's throw to Chateau de Villandry which has spectacular gardens!

Pros: The situation so near to the Château and the Gardens. Villandry was so different when all the tourists had gone home. The ease of free parking. A very comfortable room.

Pros: The rooms were very clean and warm. The staff were friendly and pleasant.
Cons: The overbed bunk was quite dangerous. Especially for the person who gets the ladder side. It is so easy to dodge the ladder and end up cracking your head on the bed side. I did it three times! Rooms teeny and the bathroom is screened off with a curtain, although the wc did have a (flimsy) door. A kettle would have been a welcome touch.

Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, multilingual staff, and microwave in a common area. Free self parking is available onsite.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was very clean, the bed was comfortable and the shower was very enjoyable as the spray was good. Everything inside the room looked as though it was new. The hotel is quite small which has a very pleasant, homely feel to it and the staff were very friendly and even recognised us from when we stayed last year which was nice. The 'self-service' computerised system for booking in late outside the front door is very straight forward and easy to use - great for us as we arrived very late in the evening. Breakfast was delicious with many choices from the buffet, I had fresh fruit, yogurt, coffee, fruit juice and of course some delicious french bread and croissants. All of this in a nice, bright dining room. There is plenty of room to safely park the car directly outside the front of the hotel, and next to the car park is an Italian restaurant which serves up delicious home made meals. Don't miss it!
Cons: If the rooms were just a little bit bigger it would be better, but it's not a deal breaker by any means.

5.0 Okay
Pros: Convenient location near the motorway for a stopover, good size car park if your vehicle is large (we had a trailer). Nadege - the lady on reception and bar - was lovely, very helpful and friendly and compensated for the things we didnt like (primarily the closed restaurant).
Cons: Room was really cold despite putting heater on full blast, probably due to being ground floor with tiled floors. Public areas also quite chilly and restaurant closed, but they did have a supply of pots of food to microwave so we avoided a freezing cold walk to sample the delights of a Buffalo Grill.

Pros: Many thanks to Julian and Guillaume for a memorable stay. They are wonderful hosts. The property is beautiful. The breakfast was delicious.
Cons: Not a criticism but advice for guests. In character with this wonderful chateau there is no lift. Take smaller bags that are easy to take up the staircase.

Great location (if you have a car) central to many chateau you can visit and a short drive into Tour with great restaurants and shops. Our hosts Julien and Guillaume were absolutely fantastic and super helpful with recommendations and just general lovely hospitality. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Pros: What a wonderful place to stay! It is set in a beautiful location. Staff were very helpful and provided a delicious breakfast of local produce. They were even able to accommodate my request for gluten free. I highly recommend La Commanderie and I hope that I can return on another trip to France. We wish we could have stayed longer but we had already pre-booked the rest of our accommodation.
Cons: Nothing - everything was wonderful.

Pros: Everything was perfect from arrival to departure. We were kindly greeted by the owner, who showed us the property and made us comfortable for a tour. The place is beautiful and quiet. The apartment, which is in a building next to the chateau, is very comfortable with cooking facilities (includes coffee maker). The breakfast, served in the main building, was spectacular, with fresh food (many locally made, such as jams).

7.1 Good
Pros: Old, Quirky, village property. Free on the road parking just outside. Comfy room & bed & we had a good night's sleep. Evening meal was fresh cooked local menu & was delicious. Breakfast was likewise. The owner was very helpful with where to visit locally & there was a tourist information office about 200 metres away. Local wines & beers available. Lovely Chateau 300metres away, but too many steps for us.
Cons: Stairs were very narrow & steep, but don't let that put you off.

7.1 Good
Pros: Our family room truly was fit for a family - included 2 ensuite bathrooms! The hotel is a stone's throw to Chateau de Villandry which has spectacular gardens!
Cons: It was quite hot when we arrived. We couldn't really keep the windows open since they faced the street so the fans couldn't really circulate air well. We also had lots of tiny flying bugs around our pillows at night (attracted to our lights).
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The situation so near to the Château and the Gardens. Villandry was so different when all the tourists had gone home. The ease of free parking. A very comfortable room.
Cons: The number of different places to dine made the excellent main dining room nearly empty most of the time. The recommended menu never changed whilst we were there, although some alternatives were available if you enquired.

Pros: The room, the Brassiere, the staff, the ambiance all collected would cause us to recommend this hotel.

Pros: A stone's throw from the famous castle.
Cons: Mediocre services, room, restaurant. Bike parking in the internal courtyard, not covered.
7.9 Good
Pros: The dinner was excellent and very good value for money. 50 metres from Chateau Villandry means location is excellent too.
Cons: Modern extension was cold in design. I first stayed there 10 years ago and it was smaller and more charming in those days. Coach party of American students made the place feel more like a youth hostel than a charming country hotel.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The bed was huge and very very comfortable. We ate our evening meal in the restaurant and it was good value. The staff were friendly and helpful.
