The car from Avis was fantastic, no issues until we dropped it off. The person who checked us out was extremely rude and decided to charge us $250 for additional cleaning fees for a small amount of sand that got tracked in on the floor mats. This is ridiculous since they are vacuuming the car upon return anyway. I travel quite regularly and will NOT use AVIS again.Reviewed 3 Feb 2026

Rep was cursing someone out on personal phone in front of us, he didn’t know if he had a car and then said he didn’t know what condition the car was in. Car was very dirty inside, gas was on empty so had to fill it up, returned it and they tried to charge me for half a tank of gas even tho I filled it up. Computer systems were slow or something so the guy running the desk says. There was one guy working the entire line. He was multitasking so he was great but really needed more people working. Took over half an hour to get thru 4 rentals. My rental took 3 minutes to so I’m not sure what the other people’s situation was but I paid extra because I figured Avis was better. Could have paid 2/3 less and gone with Payless for probably the same wait time.Reviewed 2 Feb 2026

I had reserved a full sized sedan like a Camry however, the told me that they only have an extra large SUV or a jeep wrangler rubicon. The representative then said I can either take what he is offering or cancel the reservation.
