Overview

On the sandy beach at Batsi village on Andros, the Chryssi Akti, Sure Hotel Collection by Best Western, Andros, Greece, is a recently renovated seaside hotel with bright rooms, most with a balcony and view to the sea, the village or the pool, free Wi-Fi, a swimming pool, a beach and a bar serving snacks and cocktails. A rich breakfast with local products opens the day and the village's restaurants, cafes and shops lie within an easy walk, with Gavrio port about eight kilometres away. The pool, beach and bar make for lazy seaside afternoons. Andros is the northernmost of the Cyclades, a green, mountainous island of springs, stone villages and quiet coves. Long sandy beaches and clear bays ring the coast, a celebrated network of old footpaths threads the valleys and terraced hills for walkers, and the handsome main town gathers neoclassical mansions and a maritime museum above the sea. Whitewashed hamlets and watermills dot the mountainous green interior.
