Not satisfactory experience . ( pretty sure that this review will go into a void) Cars were overbooked. The online reservations did not match the actual vehicle inventory. I was in line for over an hour to be seen. I rented an intermediate SUV, but they only had large pickup trucks. I took the offer. The check- in staff was professional and friendly given the circumstances. They provided a fuel credit due to the inconvenience. The pickup was too big for my needs. Difficult to maneuver. Many of the features that should be available on a large vehicle were not equipped or programmed, especially the parking technology. My car lacked wrap- around cameras to assist parking, proximity warnings when close to objects, or back up warnings. The back- up camera was imprecise. I had no functional trunk. My drop-off experience was poor. It was Easy to drop off. One agent was friendly and helpful. The other public- facing agents were uncaring or rude. My agent barely spoke to me and didn't ask basic questions about returning the vehicle. Offered no assistance. I also had bad experience with staff in preferred member area. Five minutes after returning car, I realized that I had missing items. The friendly return agent directed me to the desk agent. The desk agent was openly dismissive and rude to me . Suggested that that my reason for checking the car was not important. She was dismissive and didn't want to offer help. This is not an exaggeration. This experience makes me less likely to rent a vehicle from this vendor at that location.Reviewed 29 Mar 2026

Didn’t like much to be honest. Line was very long at rental desk and I requested a truck and didn’t get a truck. Need a truck for my service dog to ride in the back , then drop off personnel tried to charge me 400$ for a full detail to clean up a little dog hair. Waited in line 30mins for my already reserved Truck. Staff was too busy laughing and talking with each other. Would disappear for 5-10 minuets behind a door then finally reappear (keys were in vehicles already). Then, when I got to the counter, find out the F-150 I reserved wasn't available . And they had no pick ups. Agent offered a Full size bronco, side if that's the best we can do, then so be it. Ask what color it is, he had no idea -_-. Went up the elevator to the buget desk to pick up my car, ask the staff what color the car was, again no idea. Told me to find it in the parking lot. Walked out saw a nice black full size ford bronco, Almost took that one, as we were about to get it some staff member in a vehicle rolled up and asked to see the paper slip and finally directed us to a not full size ford bronco sport.Reviewed 7 May 2025

Likes: Vehicle worked very well and no mechanical issues. Dislikes: (1) The pick-up - The Midway car rental facility is in a separate location, but a shuttle is provided. The line for Budget looped around the ropes and stretched to the left end of the building. We stood in-line, after air travel and no a/c in the building, for about an hour and a half. The counter had about 3 active teller, meanwhile there were about 8 total stations. This piece didn’t make since because it was a Friday morning (busiest travel day) and other people in-line shared the same sentiments. There were people in line, including myself, actively looking to rent at some of the other rental companies, but couldn’t luck up since it was a Friday. This condition definitely changed my idea of visiting this location, using Budget and/or traveling in on another day of the week. (2) The car. Because of the massive line and wait, there were no more midsize cars avaliable. We were given the option of a pick-up, mini van or electric car. Since I had my parents with me, I went with the mini-van, knowing Chicago has a lot of street parking. The car was not clean. There were still old napkins and dirt on the seats and car. Luckily, we only needed the car for a weekend, otherwise I would have pressure for a reimbursement if I cleaned it.Reviewed 9 Sept 2024

I got to the desk to pick up the car at 930am. It was 1120am when I left garage with the car. Only one employee at checkin desk at times there were 30 people in line. Finally a second employee showed up. The poorest customer service that I've seen in my lifetime.Reviewed 11 Aug 2024
