We waited for over two hours to get our rental car at St. Thomas airport. 30 mins in line just to sign paperwork and then another 1.5 hours waiting for the keys, after we were told it would be a 45 mins wait. Desk agents were very rude. They continued to tell other customers in line that there was a 45 mins wait knowing that was a lie. We feel like we were being lied to or scammed. I will be sharing this experience on social media and We will never book with this company again. If you would like to discuss this further you may contact me at 8139199467. The car was great. The price was great. Drop off was smooth. BUT… we waited almost 3 hours after we landed to get our car, the one we reserved months in advance. 3 hours?!? I find that completely unacceptable and unnecessary. I have given feedback to Budget in St. Thomas, Budget corporate and QEEQ, however they fit into this. I’m not sure how you make this right, but QEEQ offered us a $20 coupon. My time is worth $7.33/hour?? Had it been the other way around, they would have rented the car to someone else. I’m sure I’ve rented a hundred cars over the years and this experience was the worst because of that. I don’t see me using Budget or Kayak again. It’s one thing to have a rough time, but the response to make it right has been completely underwhelming.Reviewed 15 Feb 2026

The pickup experience was by far the worst experience I have ever had with a rental car. The staff there had no sympathy for people who’s flights were delayed and instead of having a conversation with customers they would walk up to people and without saying anything else would ask for their name and tell them to come back tomorrow. In short, they were rude and didn’t look to communicate with anyone. I would advise anyone I know to never use budget again - this experience has ensured I will go out of my way to not book with them again.Reviewed 25 Jan 2026

Waited over an hour to get into a car that looked like it had been a crash test dummy. Shocks were shot yet the car only had 6500 miles on it. Purchased insurance through kayak yet didn’t get confirmation email till after we returned car. Would never use kayak again.Reviewed 31 Dec 2025

Airport location. Friendly customer service, relatively quick and easy pick up and drop off. No hidden fees, no scams as other people suggested. The car was in mediocre shape; it did what we needed but it desperately needed new breaks (not too comforting to drive with all the hills on the island). The pickup process could be easier. No indication as to where to go to find the car. Asked a lady who pointed us in the general direction. Then had to manhandle our suitcases up stairs because of no elevator or ramp. People running the rental lot were less than welcoming. Car was adequate.
