Despite booking and paying for our rental car several weeks in advance, there were no cars available at our designated pick up time. Nor was the employee behind the counter able to issue us a refund or help us find a car at another location. He claimed their system “was not connected that way.” The entire experience was unacceptable.

Would have been an excellent review but a few items in the car did not work USB adapter, some of the features on the screens and most importantly tire pressure was off by 17 lbs under inflated and 10 lbs inflated on other wheels. That is scary and very important to me on safety

Cons:

Pickup was very cumbersome. Why do I have to re-give all the same address/phone number/credit card details over the counter that I gave when I made the reservation? The system should have all my details. Just give me the keys. It shouldn't take 15 minutes of back and forth to check each person in. The line to wait at the counter was longer than the flight to Orange County was!

Did not explain how the tolls/transponder work in California (Fast Track vs. Toll Roads). Did not expect $13 per day for the transponder...especially when it does not cover Fast Track. Will see if any fees are tacked on...after the fact.

I had to cancel the reservation because when I attempted to modify my car pick up time *by a few hours), it cancelled my entire reservation. After over 2 hours of trying to reach an agent, I got one who referred me to another number. I called it and it was the same employee. He said I had to make a new reservation at a new price. I cancelled. There was absolutely no way to cancel the insurance. I emailed the insurance company, but no response after two weeks. NEVER AGAIN.

Pick up was easy. They were super nice and explained everything clearly. Drop off was a key drop off. And got my email the next day saying everything was good.

The rate was very competitive.

Cons:

The location was extremely hard to find, inside the hotel. Very little signage around. I had prepaid and when I arrive there were no cars available. I had to ask if they could call another location to see if there was another car for me. (They did. There wasn't.) I waited for them to clean a newly arrived car. There's also no way to contact the location itself rather than the 800 number. I had to return 1.5 weeks early because my father had a medical emergency and the 800 number wouldn't issue me any refund, saying I had to talk to the location itself, which I could never find a number for. I was in the hospital with my dad for 2 weeks and couldn't drive over or spend the time fighting. Crappy service.
