The pickup spot is convenient and the employees were very helpful. However, given that wr booked through a third party, we were told we'd been booked with the "manager special" or something, and we were given a gas-guzzling truck to drive instead of a sedan or even an SUV. So very polluting and of course very expensive in gas. So be warned, the management can really rent you whatever they want to when it says "mystery car" in your booking.

I rented a car to be picked up at LAX. The morning before I got a confirmation that my car was available in Long Beach. I was unable to get help in fixing this error from Kayak, Priceline, or Hertz.

This was my first time renting a car. I was moving (I don’t own furniture yet) and needed a lot of space. The woman at the desk at LB Airport helped me talk through my needs and find a vehicle that was best for my needs and a return schedule that made more sense than what I had initially booked. She was friendly and patient through the process, and brought me closer to my needs. The car itself was excellent. Very clean and comfortable. I especially appreciated the safety features it had given I had an 8 hour drive in a very packed car. I also found myself impressed with the mileage of the car. The entire rental and return process was seamless and positive. I really couldn’t think of anything to improve on. The process was smooth and the counter worker did an excellent job helping me fine a car to fit my needs!

- the cruise control was not working, making the drive on the freeway difficult - the car was dirty & had an odor - there was something wrong with the tires/wheel alignment - road noise was high and car was veering to the side - I paid for a higher end car and it was not

Terrible customer service. I could not change my time of pick up, no one answered my calls or emails. They did not reimburse me for the cancellation. Terrible place to rent from!!

My car rental had a cigarette smell that made my head hurt and my kids kept complaining of the smell bad experience
Our car had a dead battery and it was very hard to get a hold of Budget and Roadside services. It had cost me 91 euros in phone costs because I kept being put on hold and no one seemed to really be in a hurry to help me. It took all day for us to get a new car. We got the money for that day back but not for the phone costs. Don’t know if I would rent again through budget.

Staff were amazing and quick. In and out of the pick up and drop off. The only issue was the car itself. The sound of the engine was not good. Its as if it was havig troubling going. Maybe get it fixed.

This location in Anaheim have the worst cars. They are unwashed, dusty and old with a lot of mileage. There are no cars to choose from. They gave me a car that had an engine light on so I informed them. The replacement car they were giving me did not have a license plate. I asked the lady if there are other cars. She said the only choice is another car of the same brand. The car isn't washed and cleaned and with a big scratch on the driver's side. I will have to wait for 30 minutes to clean the car. I asked them to give me another available car. They said I have to pay the rent difference since the only available car is a standard SUV. Since I did not want to pay the rent difference, I had to wait for them to wash the car and still it was not clean. I will not rent from this place again and will not recommend this place to friends and relatives.

I don't know who made the mistake of making the reservation very badly if the person who works at priceline or the person who gave me the car in budget because I rented the car to come to Utah and when I delivered it in Utah they told me that I had to deliver it In Long Beach California and they're charging me a lot of money

Customer service was excellent. Quick and easy pickup/drop off. The cars outside appearance, however could have been cleaner. It was pretty dirty when we got it.
Friendly and fast service. Our van was new and very clean. I would recommend them.

Excellent clean large vehicle- quick pick up and drop off!Easy airport access, fast check out with prepaid rental agreement. Fast check in when car was returned, both people were friendly and helpful.Didn't know about all the toll roads in Orange County, wasn't sure how to pay them without toll booths anywhere- had to call Alamo and ask about them as we had already followed our GPS on the phones and used them multiple times that first day- would have preferred to know about them before hand.

"I'll be back"When I dropped off the car, I told the attendant, "I'll be back. I like you guys", and she laughed out loud. Got exactly the car I wanted, there were no mechanical or other issues, it went very smoothly.There was some refuse in the car that the people who cleaned it from the previous renters, but it did not spoil the experience.

Kayak vs Alamo misalignment; huge truck vs low endThe manager found us a vehicle to take so we were able to leave the airport.We requested a standard sedan; we were told that even though we booked it before we arrived, none were available. We had to take the only feasible vehicle: a huge Ram pickup truck with no trunk or covered storage. We had to wait for a truck to be found and brought up. Thankfully it was not raining on our luggage in the truck bed. We were then told we could exchange the vehicle the next day for the car we wanted, at Santa Ana.

Check in and checkout were so easy. I was there for less than 5 min. They were friendly and courteous. The car was clean and I really enjoyed driving it (Nissan Altima). I would rent with Alamo again because of this experience.
A mixed experience where the staff was very good but the cars weren't: We took 3 contracts for a total period of nearly 7 weeks in 2 different vehicles. Both vehicles were delivered not washed, windshield were both smeared and had poor visibility especially at night. Both vehicles were COMPETENTLY empty of WINDSHIELD WASHER. One vehicle has a leak and air pressure constantly low within 3 days of driving.

Went to pickup up van 🚐 (12 passengers) at 10am like I had reserved, but they didn’t had any, they offer a mini van, need a van so they said either I go pick it up in OC (30 mile drive) or they go get it but I would have to wait 2 more hours. Got out of there at 12:35pm… reservation is not guaranteed.

First off no one said anything about a credit card needed to be present. Then, on the AVIS website it states that if a person does not have a credit card they need to meet requirements such as over 25 years old, run a credit check, and $350 on hold. So all requirements were met and then Avis worked came up with something else saying that we don’t have a round trip ticket. What does that have to do with anything. Horrible experience. Imagine being stuck in the middle of no where with your 6 year old daughter with no car no hotel. I will never give Avis my business again. Or even attempt to!

Good customer service at pick-up/drop-off. The car was in fair condition; the motor kept feeling as if it were about to stall at stepping off the accelerator and/or stepping on the brake, it did not seem clean, it was not equivalent to a Nissan Maxima (it was a Kia Optima).

They said the car had a full tank of gas and it had to be returned with one. Our vehicle had LESS theN a half tank. Not only this but it was $276 for a 1 day rental (way off quoted price). When I turned in the car at another location ( which I set up to do) I was told regardless of the gas situation I had to fill it up and deal with the other location for a refund. Not to mention a $200 hold for 4 days plus the charge for one day tied up over $500 for a 1 day car rental. When I asked the new location for another vehicle (minivan) that was cheaper i was quoted $1119.00 for a 3 day car rental ! I was told there is a large demand for rentals. That I understand, but price gouging is something else.

Both facilities were onsite at the airports. No line or wait! We were out within 10 minutes. We were able to book the car last minute at the lowest rates comparatively with other sites, for the time period.

Customer service is nonexistent and my experience overall was nothing less than garbage.
The car was clean and comfortable.The service could not have been worse. We waited over an hour before we had someone finally pick up the phone and send an airport van. On our return flight, we turned our car in at the appointed 4:00 time to find a note on the desk that said “please place the keys in the Dropbox. We had expected to get a ride to the airport, but that was not to be. We walked 20 minutes or so to the airport and barely made our flight. The communication with your renters needs some work.

Nothing. Very unprofessional.Sat and waited for an hour at the airport and the shuttle never showed up. Called 3 times, never answered. Took a $10 Uber to the office, and two young unprofessional girls were there. “I was at lunch”. After we took the car and got to the hotel, they call us and told us they left keys in our car so they came and met us and switched us cars. What a joke. The replacement car was a crappy, smoke smelling Kia Soul, nothing like the commercial with the hamsters. I had never seen a rental car in such bad condition.

Typically it is the lowest. For a reason. Even then I would not recommend renting from here.The staff is untrained, unprofessional and many give you the attitude that they will probably steal your information. The prove of having insurance. In mist car rental agencies you just tell them the name is the insurance here you have to have a policy # and fill it out. Or they fir e you to buy insurance! Wtf!!! I’m getting the impression they are hiring the bottom feeders of tre employees with fishy background. All care more in their cell phone than try to help you to rent and leave the facility. I had a reservation d as Nd had to rebook at the car agency nearby. What a completely ware of time.

Staff was helpful and professional.The car was beat up, dirty on the exterior and had damage to the front, dings and dents, and windshield wipers that need to be replaced, making driving uncomfortable and dangerous.

Absolutely the WORST. I will never use Ace again. The receptionist was rude and behaved as if we were interrupting her phone conversation.What in the world does unlimited mileage mean? This is false and misleading and a waste of our time. We went back to the airport and rented from Avis. Don't rent from Ace!

Read the fine printOur car was clean and was a great price.They've recently changed their policy so you cannot secure your vehicle with a credit card and pay cash. Several people in front of us in line had the same issue. The employee working the counter was extremely rude about the change. In his defense, I'm sure he was probably getting yelled at often; but he was extremely unprofessional. As he told me several times, I should have read the fine print, so I'm passing that advice into you now.
