They cancelled my reservation 30 minutes before it
Cons: They cancelled my reservation right before it started. It was super frustrating. I did only reserve it a day in advance but they should not say they have inventory if they do not.

Unable to rent a car
Cons: The online booking system was malfunctioning and it allowed me to rent a car from a location where no cars were available. The Hertz associate called me about 45 minutes before my scheduled pick-up time (as I was en route to the Hertz location) to let me know no cars were available. The part that was irritating was that he did not offer to help me find a new car to rent. He essentially said that no cars were available at their location or any other Hertz location and there was nothing he could do to help.
Whether it's finding a car from a different location or helping me find a car at another car rental agency (even a competitor), the team should help their customers. I spent my entire morning doing damage control on an issue that was caused by the technology malfunction and could've been helped by the Hertz team. Extremely disappointed and will think twice about renting from Hertz again, despite the fact I normally think you guys are great.

Cons: I showed up and they told me I can;t return the car on Saturday as I ordered but only on Monday asking for 3 times the original charge. Had to cancel the reservation and my one day vacation

Pros: Car did the intended job.
Cons: From beginning until the end - troubles. First, renting the car at noon was problematic, because nowhere on the online reservation it was mentioned that the place was closed for lunch break! Thankfully, the guy accidentally showed up and showed some courtesy (didn't want to initially though). So almost missed picking up the car on time to be where I had to be. Then, the guy told me that I couldn't return the car on the 3rd day, because the place was closed on Sunday!?! Yet, that's what I had in my reservation and never was notified! He told me I could return it on the next day, but will be charged for an extra day! He changed the return location, which apparently also was closing at noon on return day. Then the car was dirty. Then the Hertz had 2 return location a block away on the same street, but the reservation record did not specify which one! Then went to one of them and they told me they didn't work on that day. I obviously guessed that must have been the wrong location! Went to the other 12 min before return time (and closing time), lady got the keys to inspect the car, and I just realized that I had forgotten to put gas. Well, there was an ARCO right next to that location, so I asked whether I could go there quickly to fill up. She said "Okay" so I went and in 6.45 min I was back. However, the representative was gone!? The office door was locked! Unbelievable!!! They had express key drop, but it indicated that would charge me for an extra day!! The total rent was supposed to be $94, and when I got home I saw they had charged me $169 in total + $295 deposit hold?!?! I couldn't believe it!
