Pros: The room was great! It was a king suite, with a separated living room area with it's own sink, fridge and microwave. Very nice would love to stay there again

9.4 Excellent
Pros: Staff was very friendly.
Cons: Portals restaurant was most convenient place to eat at the Lodge. The food was over priced for what it was.
7.1 Good
Pros: Arrive in the daytime, or be prepared with flashlights. Parking at the lodge is very difficult when crowded. Use the valet parking, although it will cost you - $20. Very poor lighting - a safety issue and why I won’t ever go back. The poor lighting is bad for parking and navigating from car to hotel, but is a feature for the night sky, which is amazing. I had no hot water my first day. Food choices are limited and expensive, unless you want to navigate the difficult night parking situation and go into Roslyn or Cle Elum. Many restaurant choices are listed in the brochure, but few open while I was there in October, other than Portals, which is quite expensive. The food at Portals is tasty, but portions are huge, and not bad if you consider that you can make more than one meal out of it. There are great amenities in the rooms - full kitchen, plates, pots, pans, etc, with microwave, range, convection oven, refrigerator, freezer, dishwasher. Rooms are palatial - kitchen, dinette, living room with fireplace, bedroom, bathroom with large bath and large shower. But the poorly lit walkways and difficult parking made me grumpy.

6.8 Good
Pros: Easy to check in, lobby was nice, continental breakfast was good.
Cons: We made last minute reservations on New Year's weekend so this was our only choice. We had read the other reviews so we knew what we were getting into. Room was clean but very dark, heater was extremely loud and came on every few minutes, there is no sound barrier at all in the rooms. The door has a huge gap under it so you hear all noise outside door. The train tracks really are right next to rooms and trains go by all night blowing their whistle. Beds squeak every time one of you moves.

Pros: Clean and big rooms

Pros: The cleanliness and nice bed linens. I have lived near train tracks most of my life and the train made me feel at home. A great nights sleep at a wonderfully low price. I would definitely stay again.
Cons: The tube tv kept shutting itself off.
4.5 OK
Pros: The staff was all very friendly. The room was always very clean, despite the awful smoke smell.
Cons: We booked through Kayak and ended up in a smoking room. The hotel staff said booking on third party sites would often result in this. Nowhere on our reservation did it note that we were in a smoking room so there was no way for me to confirm this until the hotel was full and there was no chance of switching rooms. The smoking room, while clean, smelled absolutely awful. All of our clothes (even the ones we never took out of our suitcase) smelled really strongly of smoke and we had to air out every piece of luggage that we brought with us. Our friends had the smoking room next door and the smell wasn't nearly as bad but our room gave us both a headache. This was probably the worst hotel experience we've ever had based on the quality of the room.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was very nice and spacious. The sink was separated from the toilet and bathtub. There was a microwave and refrigerator that I didn't use. The cable was good. I read another review that complained about a train going by in the night. One did about 4 am but it was no big deal. The room was quiet, clean and there was a continental breakfast in the morning. I enjoyed my stay and would stay there again. I liked the door key. It was an electronic one that you shoved in the lock. Worked every time.
Cons: I can't think of anything that I didn't like.
