Cons: The stairs, but we were expecting them. Could have done with handrail both sides.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The guesthouse is in a brilliant central location and just on the seafront. Lisa and Paul made me feel so welcome, and arranging a shuttle from the airport was great as that took the stress out of that part of the trip. The selection for breakfast was great!
Cons: It might be beneficial to have plugs (or an extension lead) near the beds :) Other than that it was perfect!

Cons: Nothing at the hotel. Everything was superb! The only downside was the tramline replacement works outside, but they are a long term council project so can't be helped. Don't be put off by them!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything, location, efficiency as sent info to find and entry codes. Wonderful layout. As a small family it worked very well.
Cons: Nothing really, was all we needed to stay for couple of days.
7.5 Good
Pros: Clean and quiet apartment. Good location.
Cons: I received a email questionnaire prior to staying which i completed. I then got 2 phonecalls from different receptionists asking my arrival time?? Obviously no communication between the staff. The young lady was pleasant when we arrived but i wouldn't say friendly, she seemed awkward when she showed us our apartment. We then were disturbed each day by room service despite in our questionnaire stating we didn't want it. Shower was inconsistently scalding hot then cold, thank goodness it was over a bath so we could easily jump out of the way when needed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Really enjoyable stay, will definitely return and would recommend to anyone looking to stay in Douglas

Pros: Perfect apartment for a family of four.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was great, on the promenade in Douglas, Staff couldn't of been more friendly and helpful. They upgraded us free of charge, to a two bed apartment that was vacant, so my grandson had his own room instead of using a fold away bed. Great shower. Apartment was clean and had everything we could wish for. It felt very home from home. We would definitely stay here again if visiting the Isle of Man.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Set on the prom, it offered great views from the appartment. It was extremely clean and neat.
Cons: It does not offer breakfast inhouse, just the possibility to have one at the neigbouring Coast restaurant, which was not of a great quality.

Pros: Not far from the ferry, staff very friendly , food was great, Room comfortable light and airy,
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The bed was very comfortable. The staff where absolutely fantastic. The facilities where excellent just didn’t get chance to have the breakfast. My Birthday 3rd August and I’m hoping my partner books us in again as was very very happy with the our day and would definitely stay again without a shadow of a doubt.
Cons: There was nothing I didn’t like everything for us was perfect.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: quality of hotel and finishes. Good food and friendly staff
Cons: a more upto date selection of leaflets and brochures in foyer.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast choice was excellent, staff attentive & helpful. Milk jugs could have been a little bigger - although could go back for more. We were VERY pleased that 'issues/ requirements' we HAD raised when booking were dealt with and in place when we arrived; all staff were pleasant and helpful.
Cons: We had intended to eat in the restaurant each evening, but one of us could not eat onions & another not peas or beans. The staff were VERY helpful & accommodating, but the friends in question felt there would be little choice over the 4 days, as certain dishes would be 'ruled out'. We thought we could have a bar meal instead, but as that was the same as the restaurant choice it did not help so we had meals at other places. As I booked and knew of those dietary requirements I should have probably mentioned it when booking, but the friends are not 'fussy eaters,' they eat a wide variety of other vegetables & food, just medical issues that cause these restrictions.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: I did not have breakfast. Location great , near TT course & sea . Great parking for my motorbike.
Cons: I can not think of any thing wrong , I was happy with everything.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Single beds pushed together View from room indoor Cost
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I liked the breakfast as it was buffet style plenty of choice & the dining room was clean and spacious.
Cons: The only thing they could change is the variety of evening menu, it was a little limited in choice.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very attractive room and decor.
Cons: Difficulty in accessing shower. Side of bath very high for older people.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly and helpful staff. Good food at a good price. They allowed us to change rooms without fuss. Close to the promenade and in easy walking to the centre of Douglas. Clean and modern
Cons: I purposely booked a hotel with parking. Whilst the hotel had underground parking access for anything other than a medium sized vehicle was extremely difficult as evidenced by all the paint marks on the walls. Fortunately the street parking was not to much of an issue but it meant I could not leave any items in the vehicle overnight and had concern re the security of the vehicle.
Welbeck Hotel & Restaurant - Douglas - Building
5
8.9 Excellent (314 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Welbeck Hotel & Restaurant in Douglas, you'll be within a 10-minute walk of Gaiety Theatre and Douglas Beach. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, luggage storage, and laundry facilities. Free self parking is available onsite.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff very friendly only 10 mins walk to town centre and 15 mins walk to terminal.Bus stop at end of street and shops also.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The bedroom was spacious as was the bathroom. Large bed and room had double aspect windows ( Room 101). Restaurant had nice decor, food was excellent and all the hotel staff were friendly and very helpful. Up a short but quite steep incline from the Promenade which may be useful information for guests with joint or muscle issues.
Cons: The bathroom. Excellent shower cubicle with shower curtain at one end so no narrow hotel shower door to hurt oneself on. However, it was our understanding that we had been allocated an 'accessible' room but the WC was, for me, very low level with no grab rails anywhere nearby. I have a temporary knee injury which is why I asked for increased accessibility and rising from the WC was extremely difficult, uncomfortable and painful.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Location very good, close to bus stops. Breakfast very tasty as was the evening meal. Staff really friendly and helpful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything about Hotel fine, very friendly, pity a About Douglas & The Isle of Man a complete Shadow of what it was , Dead atmosphere all round Douglas & Island, completely gone as a holiday resort. Run down sad to seeing it go Like that. Holiday trends have changed so much And people have different ideas on Holidays now. Just wanted to see what it was like now & got such a shock no atmosphere anywhere on it Big empty promenade nobody about at night Nothing on no shows ! Isle of Man government Definitely to blame. & it’s expensive now too!
Cons: No comment!

Pros: Breakfast was good, the room was comfortable.
Cons: The duvet was too thick.
9.5 Excellent

Cons: The bathroom and shower might need updating but was quite adequate for my needs
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable all round and everything we needed in the room
Cons: Bit far away from the swings for our 4 year old grandson! He won’t walk!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Apartment had everything including view of sea
Cons: A lot of stairs but there is a lift if you have time
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Food was good, breakfast freshly cooked, evening meals good, room had comfortable settee which was appreciated and all facilities needed were present and adequate. Nothing missing in the hotel as a whole and all of very acceptable quality. Some staff could be better trained to deal with busy periods but all clearly tried their best All in all a good place to stay and eat, Recommended.
Cons: Lift was somewhat cramped and ancient

Pros: friendly & helpful staff, spacious room providing ideal family accomodation.
Cons: steep steps at entrance made access with twin pushchair impossible, no disabled access which meant we declined to book for evening meal as a family member who ius a wheelchair user would have to be excluded
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: The "help yourself" breakfast was great. Shower in en-suite was excellent, very powerful.
Cons: Staff on reception not very helpful when asked if we could have some more teabags and milk. Room was scruffy looking - marks on the bedcover and carpet. TV in room was old. Space in the room not used to its full advantage (oddly laid out). Corridors scruffy too, lots of marks on carpet. Outside seating area at the front of the hotel was covered in rubbish and cigarette ends.
5.3 Okay
Pros: The cooked self serve breakfast was very good- although some variation could have been included during the week (it was the same 6 items every day) eg mushrooms, kippers, black pudding. First floor room with sea view and balcony was excellent. We turned the bed setee to face the window and could sit watching the world go by. Staff were helpful when required.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: I found the friendly staff very kind, and served a fantastic quality full English breakfast!! Combined with such a clean and tidy hotel in an ideal location virtually next to the promenade, makes this the best value for money hotel you will find!!
Cons: I find it very hard to find something I didn't like!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was very quiet. The beds were clean and comfortable. Refreshments were provided as well as shampoo/conditioner and soap. As we had a later ferry home, they allowed us to check out and leave our suitcase at the hotel for a few hours before we picked it up.
Cons: The shower was either so hot that it hurt or cold. Trying to get clean was done by swapping the temp to either extreme and using the water quickly as it got warmer/colder. The WiFi was either on one bar or switched to 4g, however this was probably because we were at the very top of the house.
7.5 Good
Pros: Good location
Cons: Can't think of anything
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent value for money, room cleaned very well every morning. However, hotel sign needs improving and more prominent - I missed the hotel first time!
Cons: Bird ‘stain’ on window needs to be cleaned off ASAP!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The Athol is not too far from the beach and is about equidistant to steam train and electric railway, so good for people who like to walk. It was quiet, and soon felt like home. It was close enough to the Manx Museum, to restaurants, and shopping.

Melrose Guest House - Douglas - Bedroom
11
8.4 Excellent (124 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Melrose Guest House in Douglas, you'll be within a 10-minute walk of Gaiety Theatre and Manx Museum.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were excellent in their customer service and the location was a short walk from most places. Price was a bargain. Excellent food at breakfast.
Cons: More of a selection of juices at breakfast rather than just orange. Perhaps just a jug of water for those who don't drink tea/coffee.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very kind staff, a proper breakfast.
Cons: Nothing to complain.
10.0 Excellent

And beds were comfy. On the morning we were leaving the owner left us breakfast out before we set off we had Croissant and cearal. Cons: Nothing everything was perfect
7.0 Good
Pros: Good host and a great breakfast, well located in Douglas
Cons: The property itself is looking a bit tired and in need of a update, to be fair it is what you’d expect for the price.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Cozy rooms in a centrally located terrace house a short (but steep) walk up from the harbor. The breakfast was very good, with more options than I expected from a small guest house. We had some problems receiving an urgent parcel while we were in Douglas, and the owner/operator was willing to go above and beyond to help us out. We would love to stay here if we are on the island again.
7.5 Good
Pros: The host is a fantastic person and went to great lengths to make us feel welcome. Provided the breakfast we liked the most and helped us with the baggage storage, when the checkout was hours earlier than the flight. He also gave us a lot of suggestions on places to visit and best positions to watch the TT. The location is fantastic, there's plenty of amenities close by and the bus stop are at walking distance.
Cons: The bed was awfully uncomfortable for the price tag, I could count every single old sprint just laying on it and the duvet was too small for two persons. The blinds wouldn't blind the windows at all, there was plenty of light in the room already at 5am. The heating was never running, although some nights weren't exactly warm and dry.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Good breakfast with friendly staff. Good location.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was excellent with our host accommodating his guests preferences very well. The location for us was very good. Near all the amenities but far enough away from the main hub to also be peaceful. It suited us as an excellent base for all our adventures.
Cons: There wasn't anything we personally didn't like but the single thing that might put other travellers off is it up a very steep hill. It was easy enough to find and there are other approaches but the direct route is a challenge on foot.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was great, host was very friendly and informative. The price was excellent and the general location was good.
Cons: The local roads were a bit steep!

8.3 Excellent (418 reviews)
Overview Reviews
When you stay at Adelphi in Douglas, you'll be near the beach, within a 10-minute walk of Gaiety Theatre and Douglas Beach.
4.3 Okay
Pros: Nothing at all. Very unhappy.
Cons: The owner charged my card for almost £900 pounds for 5 rooms, despite being told not to, and us all paying cash. The breakfast was poor. A kipper on its own with one slice of toast. They wanted paying extra for egg and beans etc. Very disappointed as I chose this guest house and my friends weren't happy with it. Never again.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: None
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, well maintained and all emenities needed for a short break. Situated less than ten mins walk from downtown. Breakfast timing was flexible so could run with our own schedule.

9.5 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were pleasant and food was nice.i enjoyed my time here and would gladly stay again at some point the future.
4.5 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was OK and the location was fine.
Cons: The facilities were a little tired and the hike to the top floor to find our room was hard - staircase very narrow. Admittedly the owners did carry our luggage down for us. However, they forgot to order the taxi they promised and we were left sitting on the steps waiting for a taxi to take us to th ferry. We carted our luggage down to the promenade and luckily found a taxi. So we did make it to the ferry.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Had a comfortable stay at Adelphi for our short visit to the Isle of Man. The hosts were very welcoming and helpful. Morning breakfast was always nice.
6.8 Good
Pros: Excellent breakfast; very friendly, welcoming hosts. comfortable bed. reasonably smart décor-wise overall. view of harbour.
Cons: Had a highest level room, although this gave a roof top view down to harbour (every cloud...) Steepish walk up Broadway from prom but not excessively far out really. Dirt and mildrew around the window although this can easily be sorted. small sink and shelf arrangement mean floor will get wet in bathroom! (perhaps put shelf higher up). Tatty old signage by gate tells of 20" tvs and gives first impressions of an outdated place, though there are better flat screen tvs now and the place has been spruced up! A tall villa property - take care on the slightly warped stairs! top of fridge dusty but again only a very minor thing in a seemingly well run place.
5.8 Okay
Pros: The large bed
Cons: Bathroom too small. House smelt musty needs to be brought up to date very very basic. Breakfast bacon cold every day scramble an over cooked omelette
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Would come again ,but not on the 5th floor with no lift , struggled with the stairs , breakfast was lovely and staff very friendly
Cons: 5th floor

Pros: Very friendly staff. Excellent Tom cleaning.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location, friendly, clean & I likes the seagulls looking in at breakfast time.
Cons: Would have liked a glass rather than plastic cups in the rooms.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast and the staff were friendly and helpful it was good value for money.
Cons: Nothing
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: The extractor fan in the bathroom worked
Cons: The accommodation is small, tired looking, cramped, outdated and poor quality. The room was exceptionally small with no room for luggage to be stored (we were constantly moving it to navigate the room. There was only one socket. The taps in the bathroom constantly dropped as they were difficult to turn off. The shower had mould in it and the shower controls were broken. Housekeeping is haphazard: leaving insufficient towels or not cleaning room at all. I would rather camp than return to this property.
7.5 Good
Pros: Good breakfast options
Cons: Nothing
4.5 Okay
Pros: great
Cons: 30 inch beds in the first room num 201 handle on the shower in the second room fixed on the outside wife locked in shower could not get out big room spoilt by not being finished ie 1 chair 1 spoon no table all the fire doors are banging shut all doors have spring hinges and need adjusting its quite noisy with people using the doors annex spoilt by these small items bathroom no hooks or shelving room number 6 ps on complaining about the thirty inch wide beds told all beds are the same size by the manager you could not make it up
7.5 Good
Pros: The staff were friendly.
Cons: The mattress - could be a bit firmer. It would be better/more useful to have blinds for the window for more privacy - because of the distance between the window and the residence across the street.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location
Cons: N/a
8.5 Excellent
Pros: breakfast was good
Cons: it needed a small fridge in rooms

9.5 Excellent
Pros: The location
Cons: The night club below ruined our last night
4.5 Okay
Pros: We stayed at other hotels in Douglas for the A’s e price with better facilities and friendlier staff
4.5 Okay
Pros: The breakfast was nice.
Cons: Extractor fan outside from Chinese takeaway, which kept us awake till the early hours of the morning, room very hot unable to open the window due to noise, staff said it stops around ten thirty which was untrue, the noise affects a lot of rooms at the rear of the hotel.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Room and sea view
Cons: Breakfast very basic/ cheap quality The mushrooms were industrial over cooked cooked style, poor quality sausages, tinned tomatoes, no choice of bread beyond standard cheap white and brown sliced - and the same every morning with no variation
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The cleanliness of the room was fantastic and everyday when come back the room was cleaned very well. The view was spectacular The location was superb with a park across the street for the kids and the main shops on the street behind. It was only 10 minute walk from the ferry terminal.
Cons: Was on holiday with 2 young children (1year old and 3 year old) who do cry and whinge at times which is typical for their age, The staff at breakfast time were very intimidating and I felt very uncomfortable around them. I could see them looking at each other and rolling their eyes at each other. I stood at a table for around 5 minutes waiting for someone to acknowledge I needed a baby chair and had to ask in the end. Normally when I go into a cafe or restaurant the staff literally jump at you with the high chair. just something they could improve on. I had to ask all 3 mornings of our stay which got annoying in the end.
5.0 Okay
Pros: location
5.5 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: Bit tired
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a lovely room with great views Staff were pleasant & helpful I am from the Isle of Man & I always want to stay in an hotel that makes me proud of being Manx
Cons: Can’t think of anything that I didn’t like
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was great, staff, room, location.
Cons: My room didn’t have a sea view, in retrospect maybe I should have asked for one.
7.5 Good
Pros: Great location on the Douglas promenade waterfront. Some lovey views over the bay. Room was very spacious.
Cons: The room was horrendously warm, even with the radiators turned off and several windows open (no air con). This made sleeping difficult, as well as causing our 5 month old to be restless. The only lift was tiny, so it was difficult getting the pram in as well yourself, so bear this in mind if you have lots of luggage.

Pros: the bathroom is very clean, the service and the breakfast buffet
Cons: That you can not open the windows in the room Our room was really dark
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The views, breakfast, friendliness of staff, couldn't do enough for you, lovely people. Ceilings were magnificent.
Cons: Hotel a little dated, but very cosy,
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The Hydro is situated on the promenade with sea views from the bar and some rooms. The shower was very good!
Cons: I would have liked more choice for cereals and fruit at breakfast.
6.8 Good
Pros: Views were great, quiet hotel no problem sleeping. Staff were helpful.
Cons: Breakfast was hit and miss with availability of hot food, it wasn't replaced as it was being used and you had to return to buffet several times.
6.8 Good
Pros: The Staff were very helpfully and the family room we had was nice and big
Cons: It said there was parking with the hotel, which is why i booked it, but there isn't you have to park up a side road beside the hotel and its very rare that you will even get a space there. We tried to have dinner the day we arrived in the hotel but we couldn't because we had to book which is fine but there was loads of room in the restaurant. The reason been the chief didn't have enough food
7.5 Good
Pros: Staff were welcoming. Good view from the room.
Cons: Staff were helpful and welcoming however the room was very small with not much room to manoeuvre. A bit dated and could do with a revamp.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Friendly helpful staff. Lovely, comfortable beds and spotless bathroom. The breakfast was wonderful, toast machine, nice hot food that you can go and select yourself, lots of cereals, fresh juice and the staff even made my son his own jug of hot chocolate when we had tea and coffee. Would stay here again, very good.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Good breakfast buffet.
Cons: Tired decor. Poor reception on arrival. You don’t get a second chance to make a first impression. Roadworks on promenade made parking very tough at top of a steep hill (not the hotel’s fault, of course)
Overview Reviews
All Seasons Guest House is in the heart of Douglas, within a 10-minute walk of Douglas Beach and Gaiety Theatre. Featured amenities include a computer station and dry cleaning/laundry services.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very pleasant and helpfull owner and an Ideal location
5.3 Okay
Pros: It is near sea and shopsm and is a superior B&B guesthouse, with very friendly proprietor, Near buses to rest of the Island
Cons: Does not really have hotel facilities, Continental breakfast only,no eggs or cooked food. It is located up a steep hill from the promenade.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: I would only class the All Seasons as a basic Bed and Breakfast, not a Hotel
Cons: To expensive
4.0 Okay
Pros: The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the TV worked OK.
Cons: The breakfast was poor, the shower was very poor and the toilet was along the corridor and down some steps.
7.0 Good
Pros: This guest house was exactly as expected from the description and reviews. The location could not be better. It was quiet both internally (just before the motor bike races so very few guests other than myself) and outside. The host, who has only been in the guest house for a few months, was very friendly and, in particular, provided an excellent breakfast. I have already indicated my intention to return.
Cons: I had a single room which, as advertised, had a private bathroom in the corridor. Not a problem but, for that extra bit of comfort, the additional cost of an en-suite double room would probably be worthwhile. I have marked the cleanliness as fair, which I judge to be average, mainly because of the shower unit and towels. Otherwise, no problems whatsoever.
7.6 Good
Pros: the hotel is situated within easy reach off town centre
Cons:
6.0 Good
Pros: Everyone was most helpful and friendly
Cons:
6.4 Good
Pros: Location, friendly staff
Cons:
8.0 Excellent
Pros: wonderful staff
Cons:
6.0 Good
Pros: The staff at All Seasons made me feel like part of their family without being at all intrusive. They recommended lots of great places to go on the Isle of Man and could not have been more friendly. Also their food was great! (I recommend the yorkshire pudding/ Manx stew)
Cons: Not the B&B's fault, but Douglas is a noisy city during the night with lots of traffic noise and an endless stream of drunken revelers stumbling past on their way home. Solution: sleep with window shut.

Cons: No fridge and air con in bedrooms
6.0 Good
Pros: Some members of the staff went out of their way to be helpful, others seemed to regard guests as a neccessary inconveniance they were required to put up with.
Cons: My room, I have been in larger broom closets, some with better views. The old facility is more than a bit down at the heels and in need of significant repair and care.
7.5 Good
Pros: Good Hotel, Good Location.
Cons: Staff Training. Small room. More like a large Single than a double (no room between the foot of the bed to walk around.
7.0 Good
Pros: very comfortable bed
Cons: layout of the room
8.8 Excellent
Pros: A lovely and very posh seeming hotel. The lift is tiny and the hallways narrow, but the rooms are comfortable and the staff lovely. The restaurant and bar are pretty and nice, and in the evenings there's a pianist. The food is excellent. I also had a spa treatment and it was lovely and at a very good price. USB ports next to the bed!
Cons: I mentioned a tiny lift. My husband is not small, and with both of us plus our backpacks, there was hardly room for a 3rd person, let alone the 5 person capacity.

5.3 Okay
Pros: The atmosphere of the hotel is very good, especially the bar area. Staff were friendly and helpful with queries and local information.
Cons: The charge for use of the internet is not fair in modern times; this should be a free open service which would attract more custom. The rooms are clean but small and the external windows were sealed shut.

The Sefton - Douglas - Building

8.2 Excellent (1,274 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at The Sefton, you'll be centrally located in Douglas, steps from Gaiety Theatre and Douglas Beach. Featured amenities include a computer station, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and dry cleaning/laundry services. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
7.0 Good
Pros: Lovely staff. Handy location.
Cons: Decor was tired. State of the hallways let it down.
7.5 Good
Pros: Sea view room with en suite were both large and comfortable and the reception desk pleasantly serviced.
Cons: Norman's bar was decorated a little 'heavy' for our taste, some added colour would lighten the atmosphere with more comfortable chairs. The food menu was the same as other places in Douglas. Both bars/restaurants were impersonal to the hotel. Unfortunately someone in a white vehicle hit our car in the car park on our last day, repair will cost £300 at least. We paid £15.00 for 4 nights parking and I think this should have been wavered as a gesture.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Pool facilities
9.3 Excellent
Pros: I enjoyed the food especially the breakfast and I particularly enjoyed the swimming pool.
Cons: The second night I stayed at the Sefton the TV in my room showed only a few channels so there wasn’t a lot of choice of what to watch.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast good choice. Near the boat terminal and bus stops to lots of places. Room was nice but bathroom wasn't great water wasn't really hot and toilet didn't flush properly but overall a good hotel.
Cons: not much
7.0 Good
Pros: Staff Location View
Cons: Room was too hot
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff and food very good
Cons: Hotel rather tired.Bedroom comfortable but gloomy
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We had a wonderful family holiday, with grandparents, parents and grandchildren. The bedrooms were very spacious, with a good bathroom. Also a fridge in each bedroom, as well as the usual tea/coffee making facilities. The breakfast is superb - all the ingredients of a traditional English cooked breakfast, but also items that can be cooked to order, such as porridge, kippers, smoked haddock, poached eggs, etc. Plenty of fresh fruit, bread and pastries. The staff were marvellous, always helpful, and the bedrooms were beautifully cleaned every day. The location is excellent - overlooking the beach, a playpark nearby, the theatre nextdoor and the shoppping centre on the doorstep. Easy to reach the steam trains and the electric railway. A really lovely hotel, we will definitely return.
Cons: Some family members could not get a peaceful night's sleep because of the constant noise from something in the inner courtyard - possibly a heating unit? Also, there was a hint of disrepair on the premises: one of the lifts was marked as out of service; some of the equipment in the gym was unusable, for example the bikes had no saddles; the swimming pool itself was lovely, but the jacuzzi was covered with a wooden lid, and the sauna and steam room were padlocked shut. We were not expecting to find a jacuzzi, sauna and steam room, but it was sad to see that these were there but not in use.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The rooms had everything you need included. Plenty of choice for Breakfast. Helpful and friendly staff. Excellent central location.
Cons: It does get very very hot in the hotel and parking in the hotel car park limited and was lucky to get the last space a few times.
5.5 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: Poor internet connectivity Lack of proper cooling.

Pros: Food excellent. Breakfast was self serve and very tasty. Evening meal was delicious but not served to the table, so to me a buffet not a restaurant. The Majestic chinese we ate at one night amazing food and service which is situated on the hotel site too.
Cons: Decor very dark and unattractive entrances. Room quite small. Had to go outside to get to the gym facilities which were next door.
