Top tips for hiring a car at Dundee airport

  • Getting a car rental at Dundee Airport (DND) is convenient because the companies are strategically located, allowing both international travelers and Dundee locals to access a wide range of rentals at an affordable price. Dundee Airport is about 3 miles from the city center, making it easy to reach your destination without relying on public transportation or expensive taxis. Renting a car at DND is more cost-effective than purchasing multiple bus tickets and allows you to travel on your schedule, without being constrained by fixed bus schedules.
  • When you make an early car rental reservation at Dundee Airport, the rental pick-up process is fast and smooth. Most of the rental counters are located onsite at DND. To make sure you make your reservation early enough to ensure you get to pick a rental car of your choice. This is advantageous for renters traveling in groups because they can book larger vehicles before they are no longer available. Early online reservation is sometimes cheaper than booking a rental at the rental counter at DND.
  • Returning your car rental at Dundee Airport is easy during business hours and after-hours returns in their rental agreement. Arnold Clark offers after-hours returns for passengers departing on early or late flights from Dundee Airport. If you need to return your Dundee Airport rental outside of office hours, you should bring it to the car park on the left side when entering the airport. Place the keys in the designated box labeled Arnold Clark Car & Van Rental, located on the right side near the main entrance, across from reception. Remember to refuel the vehicle before returning it.
  • Passenger captivity usually increases on Fridays, Mondays and Wednesdays at Dundee Airport. During these days, festive periods like Dundee Music Festival, and Dundee Flower and Food Festival, tourism peak season, (from June to August) and school holidays you can find long lines at the rental counters. To avoid these queues, opt for early morning or late night arrivals that coincide with the business hours of your rental company. Alternatively, select a rental pick-up time at least one hour before your arrival time to allow extra time if there are lines.
