fun hotel, in the vibrant center of the city
Central location, friendly staff, quirky decor Bathroom in need of slight updating
It is central to main tourest location and close to both shops and restaurants. There is also a number of good pubs and guided walks basically outside the door. The ground floor pub is friendly and Atmospheric no lift, but i knew that before i went.
Excellent location. Poor food.
the room was themed and very cool, maybe not to everyones taste, but it was like a mini museum Theres no reception area as the hotel is over a bar
Situated exactly in the centre easy access to everything The food was disgusting although it was included in the price we ate away from the hotel
The room and its furnishings were painted black!! I found this most disconcerting.I was not warned that the hotel had no lift. This was a Problem.
visit relation living in Edinburgh
Loved the room! Cool themes of famous Scots. Staff was friendly and accomodating. No elevator (could be an issue for those on top floor with lots of bags). And no signs as to where Hotel Registration is (its actually the Pub - only way into the hotel is thru there!)
The food was good. The rooms were very sparse.
food was excellent
Nice staff Booked via street map and the facilities were not as stated however this is not a fault with the hotel but with whoever wrote the facilities.
None really , it seems the hotel may be being run by receivers Room dirty not hoovered not dusted. hall way cluttered with laundry , cleaning equipment, bits of furniture. no towels in room worst of all no curtains in room just thin blinds and streetlamps so no sleep.
Staff and breakfast were fabulous None
The food and staff were lovely. The room let the hotel down.
The service was second to none and the food was exceptional
The staff were friendly and helpful. They offered to book taxi for us through to Edinburgh, could have done with extra staff in morning as breakfast was served and orders taken by the same girl she was rushed off her feet
No shower in the bathroom. Had to clean the bath, as it was dirty and had a layer of dust, before I could get in it.
only thing that was OK was the cooked breakfast. en-suite was bath instead of shower ,amenities were poor including lack of hot water.
Friendly staff on the whole; made to feel welcome
staff, food, comfort no
John, Harvey and Roz were great hosts. Very friendly.
very nhelpful staff and food was very good
Staff very friendly. Nice and cosy bar and restaurant. Food very nice. The beds were terrible and needed throwing out. The rest of the room was lovely.
It was a convenient location for our purposes. The hotel needs an overhall. It is tired and dated. The furniture has seen better days.
A very friendly welcome.Good parking. Good choice of bar meals. No lift.
No additional charge for internet use (Some Hotels charge £5 / Hr I will not pay & avoid those Hotels) This Hotel has installed Flat screen Free View TV's Radiator in room did not work And the new desk light on the dresser had no socket to plug it into
Friendly staff, Good breakfast! And plenty parking. Beds could do with a new matress, bathroom a little dated but very clean
Stopped here before and its loads better for cleanliness, but its more a food orientated place now instead of a good old pub with pub Grubb.overall stay was good just didn't agree with the breakfast cost Having to pay an extra £7.95 for a breakfast!!! Needless to say I never paid,
