Pros: The car
Cons: They did not have the car size for the amount we reserved. So we were up Sold to a $600 car. Also kayak advertised the car we reserved as $100’dollars for the week and that was not what we were told at time of arrival they said it was $400 and we had to ultimately pay $600 up front. This is the last time I will book a car thru kayak.

First time renting outside of the USA
Pros: Easy pick up and drop off and the staff was friendly. They patiently waited while we contacted our CC cards ref the insurance coverage.
Cons: We had requested an automatic, but Europecar could not find our upgrade request, so we got stuck with what was available which was a BMW. In their defence, we never got a confirmation for our upgrade request, so it might not have been their fault. Our big mistake was not verifying with our credit cards that insurance would be covered. Our AX, MC and Visa did not provide insurance in Ireland, so we had to buy EuropCars insurance and it's not cheap. The total cost of 3 week rental of a BMW X1 SUV diesel was $1400 pounds. Do your homework and if you have a written agreed upon price make the rental company stick to it.

Pros: Excellent service and ease of use with picking up and dropping car off. Was also quickly able to switch/upgrade car for convenience.

Cons: My contract price was 139 euros for the week. When I got there to rent, they would not rent to me unless I paid 45 euros per DAY for insurance -- that's triple the price I thought I was going to pay.

Cons: The prices are not transparent enough, the added insurance should be more up front.

Cons: Clear information

Old car with 82k on it. Clutch was very hard.
Pros: They were able to provide us with the car that fit our luggage.
Cons: They forced us to buy collision insurance. They did not accept our visa insurance coverage. What a scam....

Ireland Car Rental Fiasco!
Pros: I liked the fact I thought we had an affordable option to rent a Car in Iteland via Kayak. Read the little writing and research! There are 2-3 additional Insurance "Optional" Coverages you have to still purchase as the coverage of your credit card does not count in Ireland, unless you have a "World Master Card". The "Optional" Insurance Coverages are good enough to get You down to a 2,000€ -5,000€ Credit Card "Hold" Deposit for the Car. Unfortunately, I watched a lot of folks at the Car Rental counters at the Dublin Airport in total "Shock" about having to agree to a 2000€ - 10,000€ Credit Card "Hold" Deposit along with about an additional 1,000€ "Optional" Insurance Coverages. I was lucky enough to find Auto Europe and rented a Car through them with only a 300€ Credit Card "Hold" Deposit. It was so easy! I also took out a very inexpensive Car Higher Insurance Policy with Worldwide Insurance that covered for about 39€ that provided a lot of good "just in case" Coverage that included 50,000€ just for the Car. Good Luck! Chris

Cons: Unhappy with the insurance costs. Dropoff too long at Dublin airport
29 Apr 2017
Pros: Older car, 55k miles. Worked well, but pretty basic.
Cons: Mandatory insurance cost 3 times the Kayak quote! Drop off a complete mess. Parking directions a mess. It took almost 15 mins to get return checked clear. Minimal staff available. Worst Europcar location I have ever experiences.

Bring proof of your insurance
Pros: It was easy to return the car and the shuttle drivers made sure we knew where to go. There wasn't a long wait to pick up the car.
Cons: I thought I had insurance coverage through my credit card but when I got to the counter I didn't have the "right" paperwork. They stated I had to have insurance for the car through them. The cost ended up being doubled.

Pros: It was easy to actually get the car. All the people that work for Europcar at the Dublin airport were courteous, friendly, and helpful. The car itself was as described, and worked out well for out travels in Ireland
Cons: When we were at the Europcar counter they insisted that the basic insurance doesn't cover much. We ended up paying triple the amount for the car rental over the original quoted price. The insurance needs to be better explained upfront and identified in the true cost of the car.

Cons: Beware booking through kayak. The car rentalI booked did not have the mandatory minimum insurance requirements for car rental in Ireland and as result I had to paid double what was originally quoted.

Price problem, and mystic accident !!!
Pros: The car is ok, not bad. Not trouble during the rent. The car has been clean.
Cons: The difference between my booking price and the real price I have already paid. I need to look for a explication about. Tax ? Insurance? ?? I don't know, I have already asked directly Europcar about, I hope I will have answer early. Beside, when I returned the car, the Europcar employee asked about accident on front driver door, little scratch less than 3 cm. I tried to explain I didn't check the car with worker when I took the car, and the scratch is on the car before, but he said me the opposite. But, when I took the car 12/04/2017, I tried to put this scratch in the contract, and the office employee explained me all accident, impact and scratch have put in the report during the car drop off with the costumer before. So, when I picked up the car, total price with insurance is very expensive than the booking price ( because they add taxes, insurances....) and, when I returned the car, Europcar worker put in the report "mystic accident". Consequently, I send you my dissatisfaction about this rental car.

Cons: I had a low price 80 euro. The final price with the required options was over 500 euro for a small car. Please give a better esimate of what is required and what is really optional. Will never use Europcar again. Larry

Not as Quoted
Pros: There was nothing to like as in the end I was t able to get the vehicle
Cons: They wanted to charge me more than 5X the price quoted at reservation. Insurance was not included in the price quoted. Additionally I was told that they would not accept third party insurance and yet as I kept asking questions in answer to the exorbitant amount they wished to charge, I found that they do accept third party insurance but it must be preapproved. Additionally they wanted me to buy excess insurance. They said all of this took place because I reserved through an American broker and not directly through their company's site. I asked if I could cancel the reservation and book with them, they refused and said there was no way to cancel the reservation even though there was no money yet paid. While just before he'd quoted a cheaper price for a upgraded vehicle, now he wanted me to pay more money for a basic vehicle. I was told that it would normally be cheaper but because of the holiday and all it was more. Which sealed the deal for me that I was being taken advantage of as he had just said that the price difference was because of my booking through the broker, it didn't all add up. After some two hours, including the intervention of a resident of the area, I went with an alternative form of transport. I would say definitely do your research and even then have a backup plan.

Cons: Had to haggle for best price on insurance. Only until i went to another compnay did they offer discount. Also not availbale online so could not shop prior to arrival.

Pros: Easy, efficient pickup and drop off. Good price
Cons: Change of policy more than doubling hold on cc to $5000. Lack of transparency on t&c prior to rental pickup.

Pros: Whole experience was awful
Cons: Booked an automatic in Dublin Airport. The quote I was given was €487 for two weeks including the CDW. When I arrived it was €780, that was the first problem. I called to confirm this price three times. Next I waited 30 min for them to find an automatic car. Why did it take so long when I had reserved it a month ago? When I was given the keys we went to put our cases in the trunk. It could not hold two cases without pushing the rear seats forward, causing them to not lock into place. I could not have a child sitting in the back without a seat that was functioning properly. When I went back in to notify europcar, they said to pay €160 more for a different class. I informed them that I did not even book the smallest car and it's not my problem they don't have any automatics in their fleet. After going back and forth for an hour, I was informed they would refund me for the CDW insurance but that I would lose the base price of the rental daily. Hmm I haven't even started the car yet, but you want to charge me for 14days of a car I haven't even driven yet? I was asked if I would like to talk to the manager and after saying yes and waiting, he never showed and I was given a full refund after wasting 1.5hrs. I went next door to Budget and explained what had happened and they matched Europcars price of €780 and provided me with a beautiful car with plenty of space for our luggage.

Cons: No complaints

Cons: Desk person didn't want my custom and recommended that I go next door to his competitors to deal with them. So did, that you budget car rental!
10 Oct 2016
Pros: Staff was delightful. Got a free upgrade. Loved it.
Cons: The price ended up being many, many times over what was quoted due to the Irish insurance. Would have been good to know in advance so I could compare to other companies more accurately.

Costly car rental for what you got!
Pros: The car was nice and met our needs for the week our so we had it. But it would have been better if when rented the Eurocar attendant had explained the car operations features.
Cons: The hustle I got to take an upgraded car compared to what I originally booked. The fact there was nobody available to explain the car operating chaicteristic for basic things like how to adjust miors, cruise controles, syncing your phone to to the car, where the fuel fill lid button was located, seat adjustments,, the dashboard characteristics and other features I had to figure out on my own. It would have been a much better experience if the rental car agent or representative had been willing to explain the car features before I departed with the car.

Pros: Car ran well. People I dealt with were friendly and helpful.
Cons: They did not have the car I had reserved nor could I change the reservation through them. Would have to go through Kayak. the car I got was fine but larger and more expensive then I had planned. The GPS software took us on two very wrong detours.

Pros: Nice car with free sat Mac (Renault Clio)
Cons: Taxes, insurance and airport fee meant a 50eur rental turned into a 250eur rental.

Rip off alert
Cons: This company is an insurance ripoff. Insisted on full coverage, left me and my family in a lurch as we were stuck at a remote location offsite from the airport. Would not accept my credit card insurance policies, I had 3 different cards, all with renters coverage. Tried to use my personal renter policy which covers rentals in Ireland and they refused. Hard sell on everything. Instead of the $80 for the week, ended up having to dish out $540. Avoid at all costs. Don't fall for their bait and switch. Kayak should be ashamed of doing business with this company.
