Pros: I love this hotel! I stay in a lot of hotels for work but this one really impressed me. Complementary homemade cookies and port in your room. And a snack drawer! (note: you do pay for the snacks) The room was so well designed with so many incredible details and special touches. I wish I could have stayed longer.

Pros: The room was beautifully decorated, good thick curtains and possibly the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in! The tea and coffee provisions were luxurious, and Sky TV was another bonus. Staff were friendly, and it really felt like every little detail was the best it could be, a lot of consideration has obviously gone into everything.

Pros: Great location only 5 mins from the centre. Despite being on a mainish road it was very quiet. Rooms comfortable and well equipped. I slept very well. Great shower. Nice breakfast. Staff all excellent and super friendly.

Pros: The staff at reception and in the adjoining pub were friendly. The room was comfortable and clean with some great little touches such as a complementary small decanter of port. The bathroom had excellent fixtures. The bed was comfortable.

Pros: The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was was quiet with a good shower. We had an evening meal which was good value and served promptly as was the breakfast which was well cooked and plentiful. The draught beer was very well kept.

Cons: If the property do not mind me being brutally honest I thought the stairs needed a damn good hoovering. No lift. I know that work was being carried out in the 3rd floor renovating some new rooms and this has to be done sometime but I did find that the workmen hammering and drilling still at almost 6pm a bit much. I think 5pm would be late enough

The location is right downtown, just a short walk to the Cathedral, restaurants and shopping.
Cons: The hotel is on a charming narrow street, which can be a little challenging for a tourist driver to drive up to. By driving 100 yards through an intersection, however, you can solve this by going into one of two parking garages. I know that’s not much of a criticism, but I felt the need to put something in the criticism box.

Cons: The carpet in our room was stained in places and there was a strong smell of stale tobacco smoke.In the main reception part of the hotel there was a strong smell of drains, which kept drifting through while we were eating ,this was very unpleasant. We didn't mention it to the staff as we were only there for 1 night and didn't spend much time there.

Pros: I wanted a simple single room near the railway station as I was travelling alone, and just staying one night. The room was well decorated and appointed and I was pleased that although there wasn't an ensuite bathroom (this was clearly flagged on the booking site, and I wasn't expecting one) there was a washbasin in the room. The bed was comfortable, the room not too hot or cold, and the breakfast very tasty. I shall be returning another time.

Pros: Location perfect, lots of parking so car was safe, our room overlooked the Exe. The bedroom had two easy chairs and the beds were comfortable with good quality bedding Meals can be taken in the adjacent pub, there is a door leading from hotel to the pub which is convenient. The Staff were pleasant

This ended up a really really enjoyable evening, food was beautiful, the staff were helpful, the room was cosy and warm, the bathroom was modern. loved the shower. We will definitely be returning. Thumbs up for the coffee machine in the room!

Pros: Room was spacious, comfortable, warm, very nicely decorated with good furniture and fittings. Bed was very comfy. Bathroom was clean and nicely fitted out. It's very convenient being adjourned to the pub for breakfast, evening meals and drinks. All staff were friendly and helpful. It's only 15 minute walk into the centre of Exeter and good base for exploring the area. Hotel has a car park, which is handy, although it gets quite busy.

Cons: Paid £135 for the night but without Breafast the following morning which was ok but there was no set breakfast menu at a set price in the adjoining pub and was pay as you go off the menu which got to be a bit costly for 2 persons and which made the overnight stay quite costly.

Cons: We did find our bedroom and en suite chilly - heating was not very efficient. Evening meal in adjacent pub was 'pub food' Breakfast also taken in the pub was OK we felt a little staff training was needed as the food and service was not consistent and basics which were on the menu were not available -cornflakes!

Cons: I had imagined that the hotel was tucked away off the main road but it's actually on it. However, with a room at the back of the hotel there was no road noise whatsoever. Would have been nice to have complimentary body lotion in the bathroom but the soap/shampoo/conditioner provided were good quality.

As a result of the virus, breakfast was organised differently but was done well and sympathetically. I only met one member of staff, and he was excellent.
