10.0 Excellent
Pros: Exceptional (golf) hotel, excellent standards, yet relaxed. Perfect golf course, good restaurants and spa; plenty of activities.
Cons: It is about a 40 pound taxi ride from Ayr railway station - though this is also a positive as the remoteness was welcome.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: As a golfer or non golfer ,it is a wonderful place . Second time I have been here, will return again!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: -I stayed at this hotel with my partner and my dog. The hotel exceeded my expectations and we had a great time. -The staff could not have been anymore accommodating and especially the service provided towards my dog, this was fantastic - special shout out to Liz the concierge. -The room was comfortable, spacious (especially with a dog and the size of his crate) and very clean. -The location and views are stunning
Cons: -I had both a fully cooked and continental breakfast, however I have had better. Continental selection was poor. -We only noticed after we booked that the leisure facilities were being refurbished albeit an alternative being provided, but this isn't quite the same experience. -Other than this, we cannot fault anything else, would definitely return in the future and would recommend.

Cons: No bar area
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Food was amazing & location was quiet & relaxing
6.3 Good
Pros: Beautiful location and easy to access
Cons: Room was advertised as garden view - there was no garden to view - only the parking lot and courtyard used by staff which resulted in being woken up early each morning by staff talking in courtyard or cars leaving, etc. Not private at all. This is the Auchencrosh room for reference to avoid when booking.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: the building, room, grounds, food are all excellent. If you go on a Thursday or Saturday go on the falconry course- it was a highlight. Take time to do the walks around the grounds - it is stunning- and sit on one of the many benches in the sun (when it is out!)
Cons: Complete lack of any signage to hotel meant it took a long time to find. On arrival could not find any staff and no formal check in. Staff when found are absolutely charming and very good but they can be hard to locate and when found very busy. Drinks are overpriced
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfasts were superb, the staff and owner made us feel very welcome. The owner can be rightly proud of his excellent staff who gave us excellent care.
Cons: Having to leave, we'd have loved to be staying longer. It was a brilliant way to celebrate our silver wedding anniversary. In short, we liked everything about our time spent there. Outstanding!!!!!

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely staff, made my Sister and I very welcome. Our evening meal in the hotel was really nice, great value for money. My lasagne was worth a particular mention!. Best of all was the breakfast, I didn't eat again all day, it was superb!
Cons: Being picky? the bathroom/shower towel had seen better days, but that's all really, I'll certainly be visiting again..
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Good car parking.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was OK and owner provided a flask of fresh milk for use in bedroom. Owner and single staff member generally helpful. Bed clean and comfortable.
Cons: Bathroom very tired with decidedly below par electric shower over bath. Almost no seal around bath allowed water to leak out over bath panel and onto flooring. Light over bath was actually hanging at odd angle because one securing screw had come out of ceiling. Bedroom was on generally clean but dust on light shades suggested a lack of attention to detail. Single glazing throughout the building meant cold spots almost everywhere. Radiator in bathroom only worked for a short while after owner attended to bleed air from the system. Radiator in bedroom almost impossible to control.
