The lovely old surroundings like a proper old hotel.
friendly staff, good breakfast room smelled of smoke
got drunk fire alarm going of in middle of breakfast
good sized rooms with very comfortable bed. very pleasant staff. nice food and would recommend this hotel to other people
Comfortable, vere pleasant staff both on desk and dining room. Was unhappy leaving car at the new parking spot. When leaving we were unable to get out ,as people from job centre had parked directly behind us ,and another guest
The staff were very friendly and helpful The decor needs touching up big style but that kind of adds character!
Very large pleasant room with modern decoration. We were there for my friend's wedding which was very well organised. Toilet had not been cleaned and there was no hot water. We also received an alarm call that we had not booked.
excellent hotel recentley refurbished and good sized rooms with great heating A few noisy guests - Xmas party
The room was very spacious, clean and tidy. The restaurant was beautiful and very good value for money. We asked for a double room...when we got there it was two singles pushed together which was quite annoying when trying to sleep. Also, our radiator didn't seem to work.... but everything was fantastic, I would deffinitely use this hotel again!
it was old and quaint but does need decorating which i believe it is undergoing refurbishment. to noisy being a town centre hotel and the seagulls were very annoying.
A nice hotel, with pleasant staff and nice location. No bad points worth mentioning
Wonderful room with excellent sea view, great staff, superb buffet breakfast, fantastic value for money. Only the weather!
Excellent rooms (I had a double) very good breakfast
On the Seafront, Parking Available, Good Breakfast (And included in the price)
Extremely friendly and helpful staff Very dusty bedroom, no proper shower and electricty went off a couple of times in the morning when I was trying to get ready!
The friendliness of the staff. Food good value
The view from the room Only one set of towells and broken hair dryer
The room was nice a and warm The bar area was a little dated.
My room was fabulous laid out over 2 storeys
Good location, friendly staff. Prefered the food in the Italian restaurant next door.
Clean room, good breakfast No evening meal facility, staff not very hospitable
The bed Nothing
I thought that the hotel was very nice for a Guesthouse type of place - much nicer than the photos lead me to believe. The family room with the adjoining kids bedrooms were ideal. Handy for Seaton Carew, and as a base for visiting other places in the North East.
Very good all-round. Only bath - no shower
The accommodation in the york hotel was excellent , second to none .
I only stayed one night but the breakfast was excellent. Traffic noise was slightly disturbing - I was at the front of the building facing the main road.
Comfortable and quiet No dislikes
Friendly family run place.
Facilities, location and excellent breakfast! Room was quite cold, bed not particularly comfortable.
This guest house is classed as 4*, this is very mis-leading and is not 4* I also booked a twin roon and got a single.
Lovely and helpful staff. Fantastic location (travel and local amenities wise). It can get rather noisy on a weekend night, but as we were away from the source of the noise it didn't affect us too badly.
Very enjoyable stay
Top hotel , very nice surprise, great restaurant, lovely room and great internet access which was free like all hotel wi fi should be .
Helpful staff, nice room, excellent breakfast None
The room was really clean especially the bathroom The only fault I could have is the door to the corridor and the corridor itself that my room was in was a bit noisy. Not through people talking but through the floor and the door banging.
Great welcome, fantastic rooms, centrally located
the rooms were very clean and spacious cooked breakfast was cold
Great location for night out , great for young clubbers. Food was great. Broken shower,
Good competent hotel No bad points
It's a nice hotel, recently redecorated in a style in keeping with its origins. Close to the Marina and the centre of town. There is a rooftop restaurant with views over the town and the sea. At weekends, the hotel has a nightclub in the basement, which can be noisy till 4am. There are other nightclubs in the same street.
Very friendly staff, and location was brilliant with lovely views and grounds to walk in Nothing
It was more than expected excellent I would have liked a bar area
Clean, modern and comfortable Nothing at all
Very good staff and pleasant surroundings The facilities for smokers were an insult and absolutely appallling when most pubs in slums do better as of course most hotels do too. Those at the wedding that was going on when we were there were equally disgusted on this issue. All my comments herein are all subject to this one criticism.
The staff. Attentive and courteous and professional
The luxury room A wedding was on at the hotel on our first night and we were put in a room directly above it. It was not a quite christmas getaway we had hoped for,
Lovely setting, excellent food comparable with michelin starred restaurants we have used, friendly and attentive staff. That we couldn't stay longer!!
The staff was lovely and most helpful.
The room (Roxby)was small. The bathroom wass poorly laid out ie you virtually had to climb over the toilet to enter the shower and the lighting was wholly inadequate.
The location, the view from the room and the contemporary decoration in the room The fire alarm that went off at 3.30am! The speed of the service wasn't great either, drinks in the lounge took ages and breakfast was a slow process
I spend a lot of time in hotels and this time I felt as though I was in someone's home - A crisp autum walk around the grounds followed by hot chocolate in front of a real crackling log fire..heaven. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful and breakfast fresh cooked rather than kept warm under hot lamps. Bedroom cosy and comforable with stereo /cd with cds and i pod dock, candles and oil burner in the bathroom. I would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to avoid the 'corporate hotel' My only suggestion for any improvements would be that the decor in the room I stayed in was rather tired ( a bit 90's) and I would have loved a reading lamp in the armchair seating area to complete the experience.
The food and the room.
lovely large room, very quiet and relaxing. beautiful grounds , had a nice walk through the woods. bed not comfortable due to mattress topper.
The hotel is in a fantastic location, and verry easy to find. The hotel grounds are wonderful, well worth a walk riubd. Our room was large and well decorated, and very comfortable. Very expensive, breakfast portion was tiny!
The lovely gardens and grounds, and table-service in the restaurant.
Missed breakfast however they still provided us with a breakfast in the lounge whihc was excellent
We attended a wedding so only had bed and breakfast in the hotel which was excellent. The wedding arrangements all went well and seemed well organised.Having viewed the menue we will return for dinner at some furtre date.
hotel is immaculate and in stunning surroundings
just about everything, the whole experience was most pleasing! no
High quality escape from business Nothing
