Pros:Great value on one-way rental from BNA to Clarksville! Also, my flight was delayed, so they adjusted my pick-up time.Cons:At BNA, it was a VERY LONG WALK to the car rental location and the signs directing customers there were not very clear. It made it easy to go in the wrong direction. In their defense, however, the airport is still under construction.Reviewed 20 Jan 2021

Pros:I have had several good rentals with Hertz in the past, but this time was not that way...Cons:We verified the reservation the morning of the rental, showed up to the airport Hertz terminal upon arrival, and we were told that our car was actually at another location 10 miles away. A $35 cab fare later, the location we were sent to told us that they had no cars available at all at that location and we were told that we would have to go back to the airport location as it is the only location around with any cars to rent. We took another $35 cab fare back to the airport while on the phone with Hertz customer service who had to cancel our existing reservation and remake it due to system problems, and then was unable to match the existing rate and couldnt restore the deleted reservation. So after being out $70 for cab fares, we were being told we would have to pay $40 more on our rental due to additional fees charged at the airport. My reservation was only for $80 total, I am bad at math but they really screwed me this time... Back to Enterprise I guess, lesser of the two evils.Reviewed 20 Jul 2016

Cons:One person working check-in, the one person had to re-input all information regarding the rental, no info was transferred from reservation to check-in process which obviously takes longer. Check-in was a hot mess with masks, plexiglass partitions, BNA's still under construction terminal & rental facility and a less than enthused Hertz employee.Reviewed 10 Jul 2020

Do not ever use Hertz RentalsPros:They gave me a $20 or $30 discount for our troubles (I can't remember the amount-sorry)Cons:Be advised, Hertz corporate does not have the cars to support the bookings they're taking. I called the day prior to our arrival and was told all was good to go. We took an Uber to the facility and were met by a Hertz employee(Marcus) that simply said "we don't have any cars". I asked what we should do and his reply was something to the effect "I don't know but we don't have cars". The truth is they did have cars, three of them but they needed oil changes and Hertz corporate would not allow the local manager to authorize an overdrive of those changes. The very long story is that we spent over two hours of our vacation sitting in that office waiting on a car to get an oil change and watched at least three other people who had confirmed reservations walk in and get turned away. Additionally we watched another individual walk in and get told there were no cars, sit down in a chair and book a confirmed reservation on his phone immediately after a CS rep told him they had no cars. Granted he was not smart to not listen but the system is obviously broken if he can book when there are zero cars avail. The local manager (Lane) was completely hamstrung and trying to work the problem with little to no support from corporate. I finally pointed at the picture of his kid on his desk and said something like I'd worry about my ability to provide for my kid if this is the corporate environment I had to operate in. The other truth is that the location we were at is a Hertz car sales as well. Imagine the frustration of seeing 25+ cars in the lot and you can't drive any of them. Dear Hertz corporate: read your reviews online, they all have basically this story and there doesn't appear to be any forward progress on your part to fixing it. You have options: allow over drives of the oil changes, work some cross court agreement with your sales center for times of need, add more cars to your fleet, allow Hertz centers to share cars (there was another facility 30 min away with 33 cars but no ability to get them to this location), empower your managers to makes decisions and not risk corporate retribution, stop taking bookings when you've exceeded the number of vehicles, etc etc. I have used Alamo numerous times lately as I travel for a living and have found them to be clean, courteous and easy. They will be receiving my business in the future.Reviewed 30 May 2016

Pros:the drop off was super easy and the woman accepting the drop offs was extremely friendlyCons:The car I had chosen on the website was a jeep compass, I received a nissan rogue. I would have liked a jeep or something similar. I was told my rental was not available at the airport and had to travel to an offsite hertz dealer and waited nearly an hour for my car to be ready. The man helping us with the pick up went to fill the tires AFTER he rang us up for everything etc. This is something I would expect should happen as soon as the car is dropped off by the previous driver and not something someone picking up a car after a long flight should have to wait for. Cons:The location listed on kayak was not where the hertz location was. It was 3 miles down the street. When I arrived at 11 for my 11 pickup. No one was there. I had to wait until they came back from lunch. Clearly listed 11 am as a pick up time. Later that night, realized the headlights didn't work. I work 3rd shift. So.... I called and tried to return the car to another location because where I picked up was closed. The other location told me they didn't have an exchange car for me. Called the 24 hour customer service. They told me they would tow me back and forth that night to where ever I had to go but never showed up. Lost a day of pay because hertz said they wouldn't pay a ticket if I was pulled over for the light. Next day traded the car, the next car had working lights but 2 nails in the tire and I had to constantly add air. Couldn't return that car either. Couldn't drive the cars too much drama very inconvenient. Never offered a discount or an apology. Won't be going back here!Reviewed 16 Nov 2015
