6.5 Good
Pros: Stayed at the Loch Fyne Hotel and Spa for a couple of nights. The staff were attentive and friendly and the hotel was clean and comfortable. Within walking distance of the town, and a very beautiful walk along the edge of the loch too. Breakfast choice was very good and well prepared. The room was clean, comfortable and well appointed.
Cons: We had been delayed on our arrival, checking in was no problem, although there was no staff behind the desk we didn’t have to wait long. Dumped our bags and headed downstairs to the bar to find something to eat (20:55). Unfortunately there was also no staff behind the bar. Plenty rushing around the restaurant, but none willing to get behind the bar. By the time we were served (21:15) the barman advised us the kitchen was closed...at 21:00! So no food, unless we went back upstairs and ordered room service?! We decided not to bother. Anyway, off to bed after a couple of drinks, the room next to ours appeared to have several dozen drawers. (I counted 5 in ours), and the two guests obviously had to open and close all of them several times before going to bed and at 6:30 when they got up!! We could quite easily have joined in their conversation with them too. The walls appear to be made of cardboard, so if you cherish sleep bring ear plugs. Breakfast was great, again there seemed to only be one member of staff doing everything. Saying that, the staff were all lovely and very friendly, there’s just not enough of them!!

Pros: Had the most amazing stay at Rudha-na-craige, stayed overnight and honestly could not fault a single aspect. Robert and his wife were the loveliest people and couldn’t be better hosts! Room was immaculate, the bed was very comfy and the view was gorgeous. I’d recommend staying here for all kinds of reasons, the accommodation alone deserves the journey to Inveraray it’s a beautiful period property with a rich history. I spent some of my evening in the guest lounge which has a warm fire and a welcoming atmosphere, I stayed before Christmas so the tree had to be photographed it was such a great addition to a beautiful room. As you can see from my picture breakfast was delicious I had the full Scottish Breakfast and all the ingredients are locally sourced which allows you to sample the local food from the comfort of your BnB. Breakfast was cooked to perfection which is why I had started eating it before taking the picture. Amazing stay would definitely recommend staying here and will definitely be back!

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was fantastic. Catered to our needs and made extra pancakes as a special treat. We also took away a delicious home made cake. Owner was very helpful and made us feel very comfortable. Great to have use of lounge and cosy fire.
Cons: Sink in room would be useful as room wasn’t en-suite.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The clue is in the name, No. 15 Bed&Breakfast - the bed was exceptional and the breakfast delicious, generous and beautifully presented. Staff most warm, unassuming and charming. Available comforts included an avalanche of pillows, towels, fresh soap and high-end shower-gel - there are many, far meaner 2-star hotels that do not. Oh, and a grand setting so close to Loch Fyne you can hear the tide on the flood.
Cons: The decor is rather tired (though premises were exceptionally clean) and, at £45 a night, one doesn't expect to be sharing a bathroom - though that was clearly flagged up at booking. It should be borne in mind that accommodation in Inveraray and district is very, very expensive: nothing available in Inveraray itself south of £100 a night even this late in the season.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was outstanding! Lots of choices, and I had pancakes with a butterscotch toppin, and bacon, whilst my husband had the full fry. The bed was super-comfortable, and the host family was welcoming and great fun. And, the house is right on Loch Fyne, so the view was incredible.
Cons: It's only a small niggle, but I didn't know the bathroom facilities were on the ground floor and our bedroom was one floor up. At 67 with creaky knees and a need for a toilet every few hours, having the bathroom on a different floor isn't all that great. That's probably not a big deal to a younger person, but it is probably a good idea when booking to check this out before booking a B&B (the onus is on the traveler, not the host).
9.2 Excellent
Pros: As above! Beautiful view over the loch. Comfortable room and bed. Lovely dinner cooked for us in the evening.
