friendly staff nothing
friendly staff. the room was not very clean and the shower didn't work very well. The decor was really dated and the room was badly finished.
They were very accomadating once they found our reservation. Very helpful in helping us get around the city and how to use the public transit. The rooms were very cramped and did not seem to be finished in regards to decorating and painting. For the price we paid we did not feel that the rooms were up to standard
Very friendly made me very welcome Enjoyed my brief stay suggest that some non alcoholic drinks made available Special thanks to the young lady receptionist who was going to Kirkcaldy and offered to take me there as I had no transport that was really appreciated Thanks bob lines zimbabwe
i thought the hotel staff were excellant, they were really helpful and welcoming, the rooms were neat and clean, just what we were looking for and the location was perfect for where we needed to be.
The rooms were very small . Too cramped .
I have never had better service! Upon arrival, I was greeted by "Mark" who carried in my rather heavy bags, then offered a cooked meal and wine/beer! The room was immaculate, and the accommodations overall were very welcoming and comfortable. The hotel itself is under new management, and it's currently being upgraded. Everything was perfect!
The staff were friendly and welcoming
easy access to edinburgh bed wasn't very comfy lack of meals available only breakfast no luch or evening meals
The onley positiv is car parking. The staff were unfriendly and were not very helpful. The hygiene standards were disgusting.
Nothing. AVOID THIS SITE IF AT ALL POSSIBLE. Size of room - only 3x5 open area where beds weren't. TINY bathroom (3/4 bath only). Doors were hollow wood - not secure or sound resistant to noises in hallway. Mouse Maze to get to room with many short steps. TV size of a small laptop with not much channel selection. No climate control - only what the window would allow. Lighting minimal and only 40 watts when at full strength (Very dark). No glasses in bathroom. Toilet paper holder broken. Parking - not even wide enough to fully open doors between other vehicles. Not enough spaces - had to park on street/sidewalk overnight. Staff not very friendly. That covers most items.
Good base hotel with friendly staff & service
Great hotel None
The food was of a high quality, very tasty and of a good price. Service was to a high standard.
It was all a bit run down really and although we booked our breakfast for 8.30am there was no one up in the hotel to provide it until 8.45am! Just seemed a bit unprofessional and not very clean.
the attentive and friendly staff and attetiveness to ensuring all was well for us No problems
The owners were exceptional - Jim a 'first rate front of house' man, Doreen his wife an excellent cook. We were made to feel like long established friends rather than first time paying guests. We fully intend to return and are recommending Davaar unreservedly to all our friends. Everything was just right
Facilities excellent and the staff far exceeded my expectations for looking after their guests I would certainly use this hotel again and would have no hesitation recommending this hotel.
Huge rooms, very, very clean. A warm welcome from Doreen, Jim and staff. The lounge is so comfortable and we felt very much at home. Dinner was absolutely superb, Doreen is an amazing chef, Jim an attentive host and Jack's sense of humour made for a very nice evening. Breakfast was excellent, just sorry we couldn't stay longer.
Very nice One of the reasons for choosing the hotel was the menu. But this was not available on the Sunday we were there. They explained that the website said this was the case for sundays - but I can't find it spelled out clearly.
Easy access to Edinburgh Airport, St Andrews area, Perthshire
Very beautiful and comfortable. You have the attention directly from the owners; they are very kind persons. It has its own parking. It is a bit difficult to arrive,
the warmth of the welcome, flexibilty when we were late and no grumping at us!, the wonderful cosy fire and bar, wonderful food Everything was perfect - thank you
Homeliness; nice paintings I needed a bigger desk and chair
helped out well on questions, friendly atmosphere
really cute hotel in S. Queensferry, only 15 minutes from airport, excellent cafe with great views, free wireless, excellent shower, super helpful staff standard room was small and without view, bed could stand upgrading, no elevator (but ok considering good rate).
We arrived very late in the hotel but the staff received us very friendly. The room is small but with everything you need. And our room had a little balcony. The view to the railwaybridge is stunning.
Fantastic view of Forth Rail Bridge from bedroom and restaurant windows.
nice comfortable hotel My wife paid the bill .They charged here 130 pounds although the internet price was 79 pounds, including breakfast.I noticed this error when I was already on my way home.
Excellent Service all round. Fantastic rooms
Great setting with vies of both bridges from the bars The budget rooms look onto other rooms windows as they are between the old building and the newer building, also parking is either on the street or on a free car park a few hundred yards away.
Good location. Meal options and menus good with great views from the restaurant and bar. Cooked breakfast was good. No choice of cereal, fruit etc for breakfast. Room looked out to street side of property so no real view.
Beautiful view and lovely town. Room was modern, clean and comfortable. No lift, so might need to consider if you can't carry your suitcases up stairs.
Excellent staff and service with the location an added bonus, the manager Craig was a gem and so helpful, the food was wonderful and made our short stay so pleasurable,we are contemplating booking for either Xmas or New Year. Please pass on our thanks to all the staff. P.S. the new lounge bar is brilliant! If any fault can be levelled why oh! Why did you not double glaze the room windows at the front rooms of the hotel.
Easy to find, stunning views and bars has great food & atmosphere
Pleasant staff, pleasant location. The sheets on our bed had clearly not been changed since the previous occupants had used the bed. The bottom sheet was crumpled in and we had to brush hairs from it. If we had not been so exhausted, we would have asked for a change of room or bedding. The pillows were lumpy and uncomfortable.
Nice and quite, very good staff we will return again, andagain. Nisbet C.Dalgleish.
A friendly hotel with a pleasant bar and a hearty breakfast A plethora of warning signs - many of them totally pointless. My room had an faint odour reminiscent of the days when smoking was permitted and was looking a little tired. Pillows were hard and uncomfortable. Previous experiences in different rooms have been better.
friendly, good food.good room, pleasant location no lift
Excellent food, wine and service. Very helpful and courteous staff. A very beautiful setting. Crumbs in the drawers of the dressing table and a rather uncomfortable bed. A later Sunday breakfast availability after a long and tiring day at a Saturday wedding would have been appreciated. Tennents lager and a wider screen television in the lounge would have been a real bonus.
We had booked a twin room yet when we arrived they had put it down as a double. They weren't applogetic at all didn't offer any compensation, even when we showed the booking confirmation. Simply they said they didn't have one available.
the view from the hotel was fantastic bedroom needed updating
Breakfast was first class and lots of it Bottled water in rooms Dated, old fashioned decor of rooms. No shampoo in bathroom, just a bottle of shower gel.
Friendly and helpful staff. Food was average. Sea view and bridge was very good. Rather far from the town centre. The sea front pub half-mile away is the nearest call place. The overall atmosphere can be improved somehow, make it a happy hotel to stay in. Everybody seemed very quiet and the guests wispered even to their own children. It needs livening up a bit.
Good staff and food. Very friendly atmosphere. Good enough for us to stay on the return trip on Saturday 9th October. Some redecoration needed in a few areas but rooms was good.
Modern, clean - garden room bathroom Bedroom smaller than anticipated
Nice Health Centre, and helpful staff Health Centre members monopolate parking spaces nearest reception area.
Didn't have time to use the full hotel facilities / equipment
Very comfortable clean good sized room. Good leisure facilities. Very good food. Friendly staff.
really liked the view from the room and the spa facilities were absolutely fantastic really nice swimming pool and jacuzzi etc wasnt overly impressed at the food in the restaurant based on the prices but very much enjoyed the breakfast in the morning and had a very pleasant stay
just being able to relax and there was no rush with anything , all the staff were really god and very helpfull.
Excellent rooms, fantastic food. Great location and very quiet rooms. swimming pool and spa were very nice and close to reception. All staff very helpfull and meals were good. I will be staying there again.
The hotel was very clean and friendly. The resturant menu was very small and being a fusy eatter I would not eat of there simple foods would have been ok, however breackfast was lovely with a hugh choice of varietys
Very friendly helpful staff
Staff pleasant and helpful. Showers in pool changing room could be better. Taps that stayed on rather than having to constantly hit the tap would be appreciated.
The staff was so friendly and helpful and the breakfast was fantastic! Couldn't be beaten. The bed was comfortable and the room was very nicely and cutely decorated. Free Internet!! The room and linens had a distinct smell of cleaning product trying to cover up a cat smell. The shower curtain was plastic and wouldn't stay down and blew around during the shower.
The room we were given was in a small annexe in the courtyard and we had our own front door which mean as we were attending a wedding, we did not have to disturb anyone in the hotel. The cooked breakfast was good. Lack of ambience in the hotel itself. Although it is only a small hotel in a small village, I felt there was a lack of welcoming feeling in the decor, etc.
The staff were excellent, they went out of their way to assist me during my stay. Parking can be difficult but the car park at the nearby Railway station can be used if necessary.
The fact that they had read my notes on my booking, the very friendly staff and the food was pretty good The only thing that was a dissapointment was the fact that they advertised as a real ale pub but only had one ale on. They did have bottled but these worked out very expensive
Breakfast very good (nice bacon)
Location, friendly and helpful staff
Friendly welcome, comfortable room, owners Scott and Illona very helpful and keen to please, great food. Easy train access to Edinburgh and a great spot to get back to after a day in the city.
very convenient to the train (steps away). very thin staff during breakfast - one very over-extended person to serve breakfast and process guests checking out.
friendly helpful staff
A very pleasant hotel to stay in, only 25 minutes by train to Edinburgh.Lovely seaside village.
The blonde lady who served breakfast (and most other meals). It was the opening day of the Ryder Cup and she kindly set up tables in the bar for breakfast so we could watch the first tee shots. Top service!
Very good relation quality/price. The hotel is extremely clean and the staff is very friendly. Excellent bed! As stated in the hotel details it is not at the city center. I had no problem with it because I've rented a car. No free wi-fi.
I think the room was very clean and tidy. I had short but pleasant stay. I do think that the breakfast could be better value for money - I think that was a bit pricey. Overall - I would certainly book and stay here again. No complaints whatso ever.
The staff were really helpful and the room was very clean - even had cotbed made up and extra bedding was put in place. nothing
Cleanliness of Premier in was superb and the staff were very pleasant. There was plenty for families to do within walking distance. Only two sachets of coffee in room and two sachets of sugar perhaps another couple would make a difference.
Stayed here before and loved it. Very good hotel, on par with American standard.
Staff friendly and helpful, including the restaurant staff in the Crooked Glen. This was our 2nd stay at Premier Inn Dunfermline, we will definately return. None
Friendliness and helpfulness of staff, cleanliness of room, comfortable bed, good lighting
The proximity to the motorway network is helpful and is clearly seen from the road once you enter the retail park. The availability of a selection of nearby restaurants is an added bonus.
Staff were very friendly Hotel needs redecorating and updating, including wifi
The hotel is very well located for seeing the sights of dunfermline. on our arrival the heater in our room wouldnt work the receptionist alocated us another room straight awayshe even put the heating on before taking us there.
Comfortable bed Food average at best.
Good location, clean and tidy room and overall comfortable. The comfort of the room.
Town centre location Dead insects in the lights
Lovely location on the hill. Nice, friendly staff, good restaurant and two cheerful bars, cheery and homey decor and ambiance, nice, comfortable bed. The price was right. It took me a while to figure out the heat, but it worked fine after that. Checkout of 11:00 was too early. The room was rather small, but for one person I guess it was ok.
Great location, really nice staff and very clean. Disliked nothing at all.
Very nice convienent hotel, staff were very friendly, and rooms had everything needed for my stay
City centre location. Free parking in front of hotel after 5pm and rear after 6pm. None.
Nice and friendly place. Good restaurant and very good breakfast.
he Staff were very friendly and corteous Yes too many people trying to gain entry too room while in Bed
Excellent room ,comfortable bed, great whirlpool bath, nice touch having cd player and built in dvd player Reception was often unoccupied - including when we arrived and checked out. Noise from the nightclub meant that my colleague had to ask to change rooms.
City centre location Main doors not available for use, requiring guests to use a side entrance.
room was great remote parking
good value for money. Close to Edimburgh double room without toilette.
Room was very nice and tidy. The owners are extremely friendly and will make you feel at home. none.
The room was excellent and the staff were just as good. The breakfast was so big I didn't need lunch. There was still some building work going on but that did not affect our stay at all.
Place was absolutely spotless and the food was excellent it was totally first class.
Hosts were very helpful yet not overbearing. Breakfast was fantastic . Nice clean room.
Breakfast was to die for. Room warm. Nice comfy bed.
This B&B was rated among the best in the area by the previous guests, and I fully agree. It is very clean and comfortable, within easy access of Edinburgh (less than 30 mn from the center by car or by train) and of the airport. The breakfast is excellent and abundant, amenities are perfect, and the owners make you feel really welcome. There is also free wi-fi and Sky TV. All in all, a very positive experience for a reasonable price. There are very few restaurants in the area (only one in fact, indicated by Helen), and even in larger Dumfernline, a surprising amount are closed at night, especially on Sunday. If you want some choice, you'd better eat in Edinburgh.
A wonderful couple operate this B&B. This is a real bargain--beautifully kept rooms, very good breakfast, gracious hosts, close to Edinburgh's New Town, and a bargain price. We had a young child and a rental car, and we wish we had stayed here longer during our tour of Scotland.
very nice place , very clean , very beautifil place , in general a fantastic place were to stay ,
It was comfortable, clean, accesible to Edinburgh. The owners were kind and cooked a great breakfast. Not really!
Very pleasant hotel with friendly staff, nice food and would stay there again. Probably the location. A little bit out in the sticks
Great welcome, nice quality, clean, modern, good food...very impressed. Breakfast room service was very disorganised and slow, plus this hotel is a bit pricey on food and drink.
Nice hotel for reasonable price
It was a short stay but everything was fine, nice relaxing atmosphere. Good access to the airport. Shuttle bus to airport available but not early enough for our flight. Service starts at 6am
Very modern and clean. Free internet access. No food or room service after 10pm
Amazing hotel - The hotel was classy, smart and decor was modern and sophisticated. The staff were friendly and helpful and the bedrooms were amazing. The view we has of the Forth Rail Bridge was wonderful and the room was decorated will attention paid to every detail. Complete luxury from the moment we arrived. The bar was well stocked and not over priced. Despite the hotel being fully booked with a wedding party staying the bar had plenty space for my husband and I to enjoy a few romantic drinks before bed. I would have prefered a bath as well as a shower in our room however the shower there was very powerful, hot and big enough for two. If the hotel hat a swimming pool it would perfect.
Comfort of the bed. Great shower and toiletries. I do not like the room layout as a huge mirror blocks out any daylight. Also, there should be an icemachine located on at least every other floor. Poor lighting for sightimpaired guests.
Clean, modern, comfortable and not far from town. Some lighting in the wardrobes behind the bed would help.
the internal setting can be rather expensive for drinks and meals
Nice warm welcome at reception, the girl was very efficient and friendly. The welcome cocktail was a lovely surprise too. nothing.
although the hotel was very busy, the staff were very attentive
Helpfulness of staff especially at 4am when we arrived alter than expected due to a puncture on car.
relaxing in nice comfortable surroundings after a busy day at knockhill racing course.
Room was clean although a bit small. Good bathroom, clean and functional. The breakfast was poor.
Accessibility for the local area of Dunfirmalilne and Edinburgh
I liked the friendliness of the staff and the efficiency at which they processed my check in.
Staff were extremely helpful
we had the disabled room which was very spacious and clean.
Location, staff, good value
The friendliness of the staff and manner in which they efficiently dealt with any request, e.g. I was provided with a AA-route to enable me to get home. The smallness of the bathroom.
The service was quick and with a smile. The receptionist went out of her way to be helpful. The hotel is convinient and the restaurant is open till late
Friendly Staff, excelent food, wifi access in room the shower was rather feeble & of inconsistant temperature
varied breakfast, comfortable and spacious beds and cleanliness, throughout. Friendly staff too.
A friendly welcome in comfortable surroundings. Good restaurant food at fair prices. We would stay again. We were lucky in getting the room with the spa bath. Unfortunately the room stank of tobacco smoke.
Friendly staff, ideally located for the purpose of my visit and fair price
Staff were very friendly, polite and always willing to help. The food and menu selections were excellent
Clean and comfortable with all facilities you could need but without ostentation. Great breakfasts cooked to order. Good value. Nothing.
The staff were superb, the accommodation was excellant.
good location, parking and pet friendly
Quality of fittings, good breakfast
Quiet and fully equipped. Bed moved and was very uncomfortable. Sink did not drain quickly.
Within easy reach of the motorway
Very helpful, friendly staff. Clean room & facilities. Great location for commuting within Fife and to M90 (Edinburgh, airport, etc) Some facilities within room needing modernised - but everything was still clean & functioning.
Ease of access and general ambience Staff openly discussing private matters in public areas
Very pleased with the overall standard of accommodation. n/A
Good Food at reasonable prices with a good choice of menu for all three courses Too many carrots on main course plate could not see what else was on the plate for them.
Attended a birthday party Rooms were a bit dull and noise level was annoying as a coach party was booked in - felt like they were all on our floor
Staff were excellent
Location was quiet but a little too far out of town Poor decor, overpriced restaurant, uncomfortable beds
The breakfast The bathroom wasn't very clean. The breakfast serving staff weren't very friendly.
Very polite staff, comfortable room and good food To be honest, We would say that there wasn't a thing to complain about.
Value for money Noisy room - could hear occupant above walking
Excellent location to access the Forth Bridge without the hassle of the local Edinburgh traffic.
Staff were very helpful at reception and the rooms were clean, very happy experience.
Very efficient, courteous and friendly staff.
1St floor links with restaurant Can't think of any
Breakfast very good value for money. Noise from "Boy Racers" at McDonalds next door and other inconsiderate Patrons outside front door. Weather was wonderful which meant the room was very hot and unable to get hardly any air.
Location Price!, We paid the most of all the guest staying at the hotel that weekend and were most annoyed at being told this by the manager infront of our party
Disappointed with the location advetised on the internet. It was a good 15 mins from Edingburgh airport. It was advertised as only 7 miles. It cost me £18 in taxi as it was late at night & no buses running. I was due to spend my last night there as it was supposed to be closed to airport but I cancelled & just got the airport express bus from Edinburugh city
