I was on the first floor and the noise from traffic outside on the main road was terrible, with the windows constantly shaking loudly. The windows aren't double-glazed and even passing drunks shouting and swearing sounded like they were in my room. Walls between rooms are also paper thin and the room shook every time the guest next door closed their room door. To be fair, my colleague was on the top floor and had a totally different experience, but unfortunately I won't be staying there again.
Comfortable and convenient
Proximity to the rail and bus stations, shops and places to visit. Helpful staff, clean and comfortable room.
Great Place to Stay if Traveling by Train
The front door is literally 50 feet from entrance to train station. Breakfast buffet is outstanding including Brit favorites like haggis.
Only complaint was poor WiFi reception in our room. Great in lobby.
The staff -- front desk/manager -- was very helpful. Our room was uncomfortably hot, and although she was unable to move us the first night as there were no available rooms, she provided us with a fan and ice to help cool the room and a sheet to use rather than the duvet. The second night, she was able to move us to a much larger room on second floor which was very comfortable. The breakfast was very good with a good variety of choices. Since we traveled by train, the location of the hotel was very convenient.
We were in Inverness during a heat wave. The first night (of two nights) we were in a small room on the top floor. Since there was no air conditioning and no breeze, it was uncomfortably hot, preventing us from sleeping. Some of the furniture and the carpet in the larger room we stayed in the second night was a bit worn and could use a bit of updating
We had a lovely stay. Our room was very pretty, comfortable and clean. The location cannot be beat.
The breakfast included was not very good. Also, pur booking includes complementary cocktails upon arrival but all we received was a buy one get one 50% off coupon. Not quite the same deal there.
Proximity to train station and city centre
Wifi weak, essentially unusable in the room. Good signal in lobby but inconvient to go there just for wifi.
Proximity to train station and highway, lots of good bars and restaurants around. Cool looking Victorian hotel.
Wi-fi was non-existent - which was bizarre given they had routers everywhere. Very unhelpful staff.
The shower did not have any hot water, and even though the website says parking is provided, in reality, the hotel has 4 spaces out front that are first come first serve, and the rest of the guests must pay for public parking.
Breakfast was the Best and Common Area was stunnin
The entrance and common areas were beautiful, room was delightful, spacious and clean. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant and the food was perfect! Great location. Two blocks from everything important. Make sure you visit Hootinanny's a couple blocks away. They had amazing live music for tourists and locals alike.
The hotel is located practically at the train station. There was limited parking and constant traffic (vehicle and pedestrians).
The central location
Standard rooms were very average. Got a good price but would have been unimpressed if I'd had to pay full price. Also..........£9.50 for breakfast????? Come on!
nice room and vert central
reception not very friendly
excellent value and great variety at breakfast.
The warm friendly atmosphere, helpful staff and wonderful rooms made this a night to remember.
It wasn't long enough!
stayed here 1 night, was very pleased with size of room, friendlystaff, didnt eat there.. good value.
NOTHING NOTHING TO EAT NO CRISPS AFTER A LONG JOURNEY A COFFEE WITH A GRUDGE
THE ONLY GOOD THING WAS THE BEDROOM MY SISTERS SINGLE BEDBROOM WAS A DISGRACE NO CARPETS ON FLOOR OF HALL
My room was situated at the back of the hotel, as it was warm the window was open. There were extractor fans running, and in the morning all I could smell in my room was cooking smells, I found it quite off putting.
Sorry but lots of negatives and no real positives
Peeling paint, over cooked fried eggs and scrambled eggs, wafer thin slices of melon, receptionist who was too busy on her mobile to notice people waiting, poor quality bedding and pillows, poor bathroom facilities eg no place to put clothes, clothes cupboard only tall enough for undersized people...sorry but lots of negatives and no real positives- this hotel is living on past reputations and is now not worth more then 1 star
Centre of town location was great, good sized room, very clean
it was very central with no noise and very comfortable and very warm with plenty hot water and a lovely big bath and excellent shower.
