Pros: Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was lovely.
Cons: The room seemed very out of date, terrible bathroom facilities, the shower did not have enough power and there was no removable shower head. The usage of the spa for residents is for very limited time (circa 1/1.5 hr) only at designated times (at 6 in the evening, or 8 in the morning) and additional payment is required if the spa is to be used for a longer period of time. Most hotels that would charge this price provide better value for money.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a truly lovely hotel. Last-minute booking and really impressed. We were on the third with an amazing view out onto fields but only 5 minutes to the centre of Leamington Spa. Reception staff were so friendly and helpful and the room high standard of cleanliness. I will be back again very soon
Cons: Only one small negative the hot water from the bath tap never got warm but used the shower to fill the bath so easily resolved. Such the smallest of problems cant outweigh so many positives.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location was great as we were at the NAEC for a show.
Cons: The restaurant menu was very limited which was very disappointing and so we ate out 2 nights out of 3. The rooms where draughty too. There was no Tanqueray!!! And on the last morning we were ushered out of the restaurant at 9:25 by the lady wanting to set up for lunch. This was a bit annoying seeing as breakfast doesn’t officially finish until 9:30am!

Pros: The breakfast was good though the bacon was hard. The location matched our requirements. Very friendly staff. Everywhere was very clean and the decor was excellent and imaginative.
Cons: The duvet was heavy and heating rather high. Solid pillow gave crick in neck!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Very convenient situation. 5 minute walk from new part of town with good shops and restaurants. Staff very friendly, amazing breakfast and spotlessly clean. Ample free parking on site.
Cons: Room was very small. Some sort of shelf in the shower would have been good. I had to put all my bottles on the floor.
6.0 Good
Pros: Breakfast good with quick service
Cons: Room very cramped and noisy from rooms above.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: Big light room and clean. Very Friendly staff.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were lovely and very helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable, breakfast was brilliant with lots of fresh fruit - the full English was excellent too we had to leave early for a show and they started breakfast early for us which was really helpful.
Cons: Our room was at the front which looked out onto quite a busy road so it was louder than we'd have liked, I'd ask for a room at the back in future. Bathroom was a little tired.
6.0 Good
Pros: Quiet room at the back as requested. Easy to park and very good location for the centre.
Cons: Shower door stuck and made it really difficult to get out. Bathroom badly designed, toilet and sink too close meaning your knees were under the sink when on the toilet. Paper bath mats!!!

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Good sized room. Great breakfast
Cons: Parking fees. Most people are transiting in cars so parking shouldn't be an extra but included in the room price. The heating in the room couldn't be controlled
7.0 Good
Pros: Good location near to centre of town Good size room and well equipped Nice bar facility excellent breakfast included in booking price friendly staff
Cons: The bed was very hard, both of us ended up with a back ache otherwise we thought everything ok
4.0 Okay
Pros: Location is good. The breakfast was adequate.
Cons: The hotel has not been well kept. We had to move rooms because of noisy radiators but still heard them in the new room. The internet did not work. The coffee at breakfast was terrible. We were glad there was parking and then surprised we had to pay extra for it. The overall cost did not add up, we moved to the Premier Inn the next day.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: efficient check in/out, comfortable and spacious room, fantastic breakfast buffet, and great value for money
9.0 Excellent
Pros: We found the bed comfortable there was plenty of tea and coffee provided in the room. The evening meal in the resturant was excellent good quality food and we were asked if we wanted the food mild, medium or extra spicy. The waitress was friendly and made us feel most welcome. At Breakfast we were greeted by a friendly member of staff and there was a good choice. We would not hesitate to return.
Cons: The hash browns were a little soggy but everything else was perfect. The room was comfortable but the room was in need of an update but bed was comfortable and the shower was great.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location, cost , friendly staff, comfortable bed
Cons: Cold room, worn bathroom, flickering lights whole place needs an uplift.

Pros: Excellent comfortable place. Stayed multiple times. Staff great!
Cons: Having to be in work too early both days to get breakfast.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very good breakfast freshly cooked. Room warm and well heated, plenty of hot water in shower. Close to centre of town.
Cons: Next to a crossroads with traffic lights - traffic noise during the night. Very small car park, we managed to park in the car park but if you can’t, then there’s very little street parking available.
9.0 Excellent
Cons: nothing really
8.0 Excellent
Pros: This little hotel is superb. I needed somewhere to stay for one night whilst visiting friends and this was perfect. The single bed room had everything one could need; tea, coffee, biscuits, toiletries, hair dryer etc as one would expect but then there was a lot more fitted in: a drop down desk, a folding chair. lots of useful hooks, face wipes, cotton buds, sticking plasters. tissues and sensibly placed light switches next to the bed, The bed was very comfortable. So often single room, value accommodation hotels skimp on mattress replacement but this mattress was firm enough with crips bedding. Breakfast was excellent value - a selection of fruits and yoghurts, fruit juice, and an excellent English breakfast. Good size portions and good quality ingredients.
Cons: The shower could have been more powerful
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff and a cosy vibe despite it's city center location. Much nicer than staying in a Travelodge!
7.0 Good
Pros: Cooked breakfast - excellent and piping hot. Room large and comfortable
Cons: Decor dated
Thomas James Hotel - Leamington Spa - Bedroom
7
6.6 Good (756 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Located in Royal Leamington Spa, Thomas James Hotel is within a 15-minute drive of Warwick Castle and Shakespeare Monument. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby and luggage storage.
7.0 Good
Pros: Good value
Cons: Bathroom layout was poor
5.0 Okay
Pros: Cleanness: Room was very clean. Keys: It's good to have the keys to the property to be able to come back late. Location: Very close to the station and the town centre
Cons: Problems with the room: - Too small; - Too noisy (loud music until 1:30 am and early in the morning noise from a machine outside); - Too warm; - No additional pillows (just a flat one on the bed); - Too small bed: I am 6.2 ft and I would barely fit the mattress and the blanket.
1.0 Poor
Pros: Not Much, I think the hotel needs to be more honest and let people know it is NOT disability friendly and that to get to the reception you have to climb up stairs, and then even more stairs to get to the bedrooms. The hotel is over a bar that is very loud, and is open until 2 am ON ARRIVAL YOU HAVE TO GO INTO THE BAR TO GET YOUR KEY AND TO GET TO RECEPTION Remember, you get what you pay for
Cons: My review is based around the 4 poster room No 6, which you pay extra for! I did not see the other bedrooms The hotel makes no mention that to get to the rooms you have to climb up lots and lots of stairs! To get to the jokingly named '4 poster room' you have to climb up 54 stairs on 3 levels! NO EFFORT WAS MADE TO MAKE THE 'FOUR POSTER BED' LOOK ATTRACTIVE IN ANY WAY, WHILE I WAS NOT EXPECTING A HENRY THE 8TH FOUR POSTER BED, I WAS EXPECTING BETTER THAN WHAT LOOKED LIKE A CLIMBING FRAME FROM IKEA! THE CARPET IN THE ROOM WAS VERY DIRTY, AND HAD A LARGE BLACK SMUDGE STAIN ON THE FLOOR. The shower room, was tiny, and the opening to the shower so small nobody could get in the shower, There was a large 'dip' in the shower room floor, that was as if someone had filled a gap with old newspaper A totally missed opportunity
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Room was excellent - clean and good sized bathroom.
Cons: I had little to complain about.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Dated, everything seemed broken and I mean everything
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: The price was good, however, the overall quality of the place was pretty poor. I cannot recommend this hotel at all.
Cons: The room was dirty, with stained carpets, tired/damaged furniture and drafty windows. Even with the curtains closed, a lot of light still came into the room and it was in a noisy location. I slept very badly and avoided walking on the carpets barefoot.
6.0 Good
Pros: Location is in town centre, so can be noisy if the traffic is noisy (boy racers at the traffic lights!) - I'm a good sleeper though, it didn't bother me.
Cons: There was no hair drier in the room. The shower was rather 'whiffy'. The TV remote didn't work.
1.0 Poor
Pros: Bed was comfortable
Cons: Hard to sleep very noisy dis
5.4 Okay
Pros: Such a good location perfect for what we were there for
Cons: I’ve come away with bites over my body I believe from bed bugs or soemthing in the bed as I woke up with them after my stay
8.2 Excellent
Pros: The location was ideal for getting around Leamington Spa. The restaurant next door was convenient.
Cons: Without a lift, it made getting (heavy) luggage up and down the stairs challenging. While the facilities were simple as expected, the floor in the bathroom has a worrisome “soft spot” near the toilet.
7.1 Good
Pros: Good location and price
Cons: Staff could have been friendlier

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location
Cons: Clean
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Liked everything about the hotel and its staff
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very comfy
9.0 Excellent
Pros: We have stayed here several times before and we will be back. It is quiet, comfortable and located very close to the town without being too close to the noise. Breakfast is great.
Cons: Very little. The shower was a bit weak but I am being picky.
6.0 Good
Pros: Pleasant enough, though a bit tired - the outside is definitely better than the inside. Location is central and convenient, river and gardens are a pleasant short stroll away. I got in a decent 7km run along the river. Staff are friendly. Quality breakfast. Relaxing - which is more than you can say about many hotels (I stay in a lot).
Cons: Food (burger) was definitely not the best, beer selection is boring. Bar was empty when I used it, but comfortable. Bathroom was drab - worn fittings (though perfectly serviceable), plastic cups and hot water took ages to come through. Double bed was actually 2 singles joined (admittedly one of my pet hates). On street parking locally is limited to 2 hours (their car park is small, not untypical these days to be fair), which could be really inconvenient.
7.0 Good
Pros: Excellent location in the town of Leamington Spa, great staff and wonderful breakfast. Get there early for a place in the car park. Many choices of great restaurants (and pubs) close by. Also great for shopping.
Cons: They are slowly refurbishing the hotel rooms, but we had an old room. There was some noise from the road and the bed could have been more comfortable.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: room was spacious and clean and quiet, breakfast was very good and ample. Service was with a smile. Would stay again.
Cons: bathroom a bit dated, could do with a bit of sprucing up. I thought the mattress was not of great quality, but did not stop me sleeping.
The Arden Hotel & Leisure Club - Solihull - Building

7.8 Good (7,079 reviews)

Featured amenities include a business center, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and dry cleaning/laundry services. Free self parking is available onsite.
4.0 Okay
Pros: Friendly helpful staff
Cons: The hotel is looking dated. The shower was only a trickle and no water pressure
5.8 Okay
Pros: Great tea and coffee facilities in the room, very helpful staff.
Cons: Would have liked an iron in the room, as was on business, but had to ask every day for it to be bought to the room. Tv remote didn’t turn the tv off, probably needed new batteries. I thought it was more on site to nec, the walk was longer than I thought.
8.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff are great and the food in the resturant was billiant. Easy 10 minute walk to Birmingham International rail station and NEC. Plenty of parking for the rooms available. Common areas have been updated and are bright, clean and plesant.
Cons: Internet slow (but reliable) , room was a bit dated and bathroom needed a little TLC but clean and functional. some rooms are very close to busy A45 but more than adaque sound proofing as long as you don't expect to have your windows open, there is no Air Conditining so this can make regulating the room tempreach a balancing act.
3.1 Mediocre
Pros: Not much really, the breakfast was pretty good.
Cons: Our room was double booked, an irritation but these things happen. We came back from our evening out and were promised a room had been sorted, we went upstairs and walked in on another guest sleeping! Fortunately they extremely calm but this is completely unacceptable. We then tried another room and the same thing happened! Finally on the third attempt and after an hour of waiting we were provided a room. This has completely ruined my hotel experience and simply cannot recommend this hotel.
6.0 Good
Cons: Very old and need refurbishbent
5.4 Okay
Pros: Reception did try to help with the problems I encountered.
Cons: I had to move rooms twice because there was so much noise coming from other rooms. The first night I was woken three times - a crying baby downstairs first, then drunk people next door, then an argument on the other side early in the morning. Not the hotel's fault exactly and reception did try to help but at the end of the day the one thing you need in a hotel is to be able to sleep at night. The gym and leisure bit compensates a bit but otherwise there isn't much to recommend it. Avoid.
7.1 Good
Cons: Rooms were a little tired
5.0 Okay
Pros: Good value, tasty meal.
Cons: Desperately in need of refurbishment in the bed rooms. Swimming pool area and changing very grubby
7.5 Good
Pros: A little walk but handy to NEC, very friendly staff and nice to have a small but handy gym and pool available for the price!
Cons: It’s an older hotel but still comfortable enough!
8.2 Excellent
Pros: Excellent evening meal in restaurant. Good service quick check in
Cons: Very hot in room opened windows which helped us get to sleep. Room was clean and beds comfortable.
6.0 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: Blocked toilet & broken kettle & no shower gel
8.8 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is in a great location for the NEC and the airport with free parking and within walking distance. The rooms are nice spacious and clean. I've stayed here 5 times now
Cons: I have to say that this time we found the hotel cold. From arriving the room was cold turned the heating up but took several hours to get just warm. Went down to the bar which was also cold. I said to the barman how cold it was and he agreed it was and turned the heating up but with the doors continually opening and one remaining constantly open with the temerature outside -2C it wasn't comfortable most people had their coats on. The same the next morning in the breakfast room I could feel the cold air on my feet and legs!

Pros: This is the best hotel we stay in. It’s clean, comfortable, spacious; the staff are brilliant.
6.0 Good
Pros: The location next to NEC

5.7 Okay
Cons: Check in process needs improving
5.0 Okay
Pros: Comfy bed. Nice bathroom.
Cons: We had to ask the staff to change the sheets but this is suppose to be done every day? 2 plastic bottles of water every day totally unnecessary. Stop with the plastic. Hallways need a real refurb. Very tired looking.
6.7 Good
Pros: Close to the Town Centre & easy access to Motorway. Excellent breakfast.
Cons: The hotel could do with a little updating, general painting & decorating. Carpets a little worn in places.
6.8 Good
Pros: Very nice staff
Cons: Therooms are very dated - No double glazing so quite noisy and the TVs are very dated and often stop working.
5.0 Okay
Pros: I liked the hotel, staff and location
Cons: the building work during breakfast was very disturbing we had joined a party of others and couldn’t enjoy a relaxing conversation. Also I am gluten free although bread was provided there was no cereals .
4.0 Okay
Pros: Location.
Cons: Room was extremely dated and exterior looked more like a block of apartments than a hotel. Staff were very friendly and assertive and bed was very old but comfortable. Bathroom was very clean. I've stayed in better hotels for less money but was great for location.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Not enough tea bags & mils in room, take your own. Only one set of towels supplied for two in twin room
4.0 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: Hotel needs updating and I didnt enjoy the breakfast. Buffet style for hot food doesn't work. But centrally locally and good value for money

2.5 Mediocre
Pros: No
Cons: We have found too much hair in the bathroom GROSS we will never come back very bad service
9.1 Excellent
Pros: The room was large, good bathroom comfortable bed. Impressed with room which was excellent value. Internet in public areas was free and good.
Cons: No mobile signal anywhere in hotel, I had to go outside to use my mobile which made it very hard for people to contact me. Expensive internet in room - £7.00 each per day for phone or tablet. Small TV considering the size of the room. Not being able to use my phone and receive calls will stop me staying here again.
6.0 Good
Pros: Breakfast of a good standard and my room was very comfortable.
Cons: My fault for not reading the terms but you have to pay extra for wifi in the room (after a 20 min free session) and 'per devise'! Most hotels I stay in offer free wifi as part of your room fee. I had to pay extra for breakfast which was fine becasue I knew this alrready however I wished I didnt buy the voucher because nobody checked and I could have eaten for free. The bar food was 'okay' but the evening buffet on sunday when ber food wasnt available was like being in a motorway service station.
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: Can't think of any outstanding features... The breakfast was ok, but the tables weren't very clean.
Cons: Not the cleanest - i.e hair on bath tub etc. Beds not overly comfortable... No free WiFi..
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Had pool jacuzzi steamroom
Cons: Showers in the pool stunk
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: It was clean. Breakfast was ok.
Cons: It was very run down, wallpaper torn off walls, room tired and outdated, bed gave me back ache. It was quite expensive for what you got and they tried to charge extra for pool, so I didn't use it.
7.0 Good
Pros: The spacious room
Cons: Hotel needs a bit of a refurbishment. I.e. bed frames and decorations etc
4.0 Okay
Pros: Close to where I needed to be for work
Cons: At first look it looks impressive but look closer and the building is badly maintained and scruffy and the finish lacks attention and is or poor quality. Add the fact that in this day and age this hotel still charges for WiFi access apart from in common areas so if you want to work in quietly and consented on something this is impossible. This hotel reminds me of Ryanair. Lots of promises but at extra cost. Don’t stay here!!
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Would happily stay again, clean and friendly place. Great value for money and loved the extra pillows!
Cons: Beds are a little hard and one of our key cards did not work. Also tv was a little small and bath headboard was broken. Cheap toilet paper
7.0 Good
Pros: Comfy bed - excellent shower - good in room facilities such as plentiful supply of tea & coffee
Cons: Tatty interior needs Updating for example with proper plug sockets rather than the very old round pin ones. Very poor W-FI made worse by only getting 20 mins usage free.

8.2 Excellent
Pros: Staff were brilliant especially reception team. An amazing Jamaican lady who was fantastic when we arrived and our booking wasn’t on your system. A potentially very upsetting and embarrassing situation was turned into a highlight of the trip by this lady. A real asset!
Cons: Staff in restaurant in jeans- just didn’t look right! Obviously this is just my opinion. Pool changing facilities cold, dirty, no hairdryer, locker didn’t use new pound coins so I couldn’t use it.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Everything was great
Cons: The extra parking charges on top of the hotel stay
7.9 Good
Pros: Simple and clean. And good pillows.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The Welcome from Reception is always professional and pleasant Even if you have been before they explain The cookie is always a treat!
Cons: All as expected with re: our stay From car park to our conference anniversary to breakfast
6.0 Good
Pros: Room basic but clean enough. The usual tea, coffee, hairdryer. Great that you can use leisure facilities.
Cons: You have to pay £5 per night for parking. Air con in room was broken and was very very hot. Too hot to sleep comfortably. Corridor was noisy throughout the night with slamming doors and drunk people.
8.8 Excellent
Cons: The bed was very hard, very uncomfortable and very noisy!

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Room was very nice with a comfortable big double bed! Excellent shower and bath.
Cons: We had a double room but there was only one bath towel! Having to pay for parking at the hotel! Would have liked to have bottled drinking water in the room!
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Not much
Cons: The fact we were given a disabled room nether of us are disabled
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great rooms. Very clean. Great bar and very friendly staff
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Modern clean hotel
Cons: You have to now pay for parking
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Pool and Spa
6.3 Good
Pros: It’s a budget hotel with all basic amenities. There’s a Starbucks and a pub/ restaurent down. Not loaded with luxuries but simple and meet all requirements for a business travel.
Cons: Rooms are small, housekeeping department needs a whole world of improvement. They do not make the bed professionally unlike what we have seen in other hotels. Fresh towels were not replaced until it was reported to the reception and after which it was taken care of. Same was the case with coffee / sugar inside the room. Well, an extra sachet or couple of them do not cause a big hole in the pocket. They counted them exactly for a one time use for the whole day and kept it accordingly.

9.0 Excellent

9.0 Excellent

7.0 Good
Pros: The staff were helpful. The hotel was very clean with good facilities. The breakfast was great!
Cons: The mattress sheet was too small so kept coming off the corners of the mattress. The radiator was hot despite us turning it off making the room really warm. We tried to sleep with the window open but the road is noisy.
