Excellent facilities for disabled people. Lack of staff, we had to wait for 1hour 15minutes for a drink and when we ordered food we had to wait 1hour 10minutes for it to be served and it came only after we complained. Some other diners sent their food back ,two other guests told us not to stay as the service was appalling. I had to go to reception to ask for a barman to serve us after dinner coffee and we had to wait almost 25 minutes. Not acceptable and we did make a formal complaint.
very friendly staff, nice modern room, great rates. peoples food tray left for most of the day and night at there bedroom doors.
Location rather souless. A bit like motorway services, you would not want to go outside the hotel for a walk.
It was value for money with the rooms and staff excellent a good location with sports facilities very close by. On arrival at 17:00hrs the breakfast tray from the previous guest was still outside the room.
Everything was at hand with great immaculate leisure facilities.Lift was great
Exceptionally clean and cracking value for money. Not easy to walk to.
Modern room, flat screen TV, nice carpetting. Cold, too modern reception area, large uninspiring cold empty feel to the `restaraunt`. Food was very poor. No atmosphere at all.
Good points were very pleasant hotel with excellent facilities
The restaurant was awful. We waited 1.75 hours to get food, even though there were only a few people in the restaurant. I ordered Lancashire hotpot and got a few pieces of boiled broccoli with a small fried steak and 3 tiny thin strips of potato on top. This was not a hotpot of any kind. It was awful and we decided not even to attempt breakfast the next morning. All the guests in the restaurant were comparing notes and complaining.
only had to stay one night, thank goodness. complaint on site had no effect, are you interested or not??????? bad drains and cold breakfast???? the bleach I was given by housekeeping had no effect, luckily I did not get any on my clothes!
Good and pleasant location over the last 20 years have stayed at the Belfry many times but not so many recently as I did not need a room in a hotel in the area I was in room 411 which is a good room - but to get to it the lift one uses is an antique - if one does not properly shut the inner gate, then it works for no one. The stripy black & white carpet on the 4th floor is not pleasant to look at. The passageway from reception to the lift is unlike anything I have experienced elsewhere. It is narrow and one winds around quite a bit.
Good parking, nice room, helpful staff, good location close to motorway, quiet Room was too hot for me but just kept our windows open
Convenient location in need of a makeover
1 night was not long enough to say
When i payed my bill i was overcharged the lady in the reception was unable to give me a refund .I had to go to see the reception the next day for my refund .Staff need training on how to deal with customers problems
The food in the restaurant was of a pretty good standard and the breakfast had a good selection. The room was of a poor quality and looked extremely tired with stains on the carpets. The bed was extremely uncomfortable and gave me backache. There was peeling wallpaper in the public areas and a bucket in the hall way collecting dripping water. This does not warrant 3 stars.
Rooms where really nice, staff vey helpful. No aircon
Hotel in desperate need of refurbishment - inside and out.
Very friendly staff Old fashioned rooms, small bathrooms
relaxed atmosphere The hotel & facilities are getting tired - worn carpets, shabby gymn, etc.
Rooms were nice and in the evenings we more or less had the pool, jacuzzi and saunas to ourselves Queues at the reception which, with only one person there, you couldn't avoid even if it was just to get a second room key.
That all staff spoke to you politely even when merely passing on the stairs.
every one was very helpful.
I liked the location and the facilities. we stayed as part of a wedding party and thoroughly enjoyed everything the bathroom in our bedroom was ready for refurbishment, but it was fine.
The staff were very supportive. I needed some special consideration for a guest I had invited. A very sick lady. I was able to entertain her in a private room thanks to your team. In particular a young lass called Megan. It was her innovation that made this happen. You have an excellent team at this hotel.
The leisure facilities mainly the pool area I visisted many times. Genearlly enjoyed my stay and the people who were working at the hotel were friendly and efficient. I would return wiothout hesitation.
the spa facilities and the lake behind the hotel
ful breakfast came without mushrooms
Excellent attentive service from friendly staff, especially around bar and restaurant. Although under pressure, especially at breakfast time, the staff kept their sense of humor throughout.
We were parents of the groom and we were delighted with the venue, the wedding breakfast, the attitude and helpfulness of the staff and the facilities Kilhey Court has to offer. Rooms are a little tired looking but clean and well equipped. If I had to complain about anything, it would be that the bar in the evening was understaffed and it was said that the 20 minute wait to buy a drink was unacceptable.
The staff were great, it was my daughters birthday and they made a fuss of her and she loved it. It was so clean and relaxing, I would love to go again. everything was perfect
Fabulous location, gorgeous room, luxury bathrobes provided, excellent freshly cooked breakfast, helpful, friendly staff, quiet and peaceful ambience throughout hotel. Although quality toiletries, only bare minimum provided - no shower cap, hair conditioner or body lotion provided.
Staff - helpful, courteous, efficient Restaurant - absolutely outstanding, the best meal I have ever had (and I've eaten in some world class restaurants) Temperature of room: it was very warm. I am from a subtropical climate, so if I think it's warm, it is. There was only a small window, poorly located, and the room received most of the day's sunlight.
The hotel staff were excellent, welcoming and friendly and for a night out in Alderley Edge, its location is perfect. The room, despite being nicely decorated and pretty well equipped, was very small and really only suitable for one person.
The breakfast was great!
That all the members of staff were very friendly when we arrived at the hotel. That we had to keep the fan on throughout the night in our room as it was to warm in the room, and we had bad headaches in the morning.
Stayed before-restaurant is excellent.Lovely building,just upgrading rooms.Love the place,definitely returning(again)
beautiful garden, close to village with good restaurants, excellent service small room. no air conditioning. musty smell in room
Room service food was wrong first time round and then overcooked and tasteless second time. I put a request for breakfast in my room which was ignored. I had to then race for a breakfast in the dining room where i had to make my own tea/coffee, the hot food was overcooked and the milk was warm
The food was good. the staff tried hard to please decorative standard and cleanliness of rooms (I tried 2) was poor. holes in the wall and noisy boiler room in first. was quickly moved to their credit but fan and telephone did not work in second room. my hair dryer blew up and theirs cut out I left after that completing my stay elsewhere.
Leisure facilities The breakfast was drying up under the heat of the lamps instead of just being kept hot.
My wife used to the facilities in the leisure center, and we ate dinner in the dining room. The hotel rooms are in need of refurbishment.
Price and location was very good - and it was good value for money. Although the room was very clean and comfortable, the room size was not very big.
Location and close proximity to Motorways and town The carpets wore worn on the steps and came away from the metal grips underneath and there was poor sound insulation with a regular sound of some type of motor from within the hotel each morning from 08:30
Cheap and cheerful. Good value for money if you;re not too bothered about slightly shabby decor in rooms. As for question 2.
Overpriced. Breakfast bland.
location room, food
Room was warm
The location. having a beer outside in the sunshine during Happy Hour. Would benefit from revamped bathroom. Better information passing to night staff.(request for early breakfast was not relayed) This happenened during our last stay also.
Availability at a time of high demand and proximity to airport The room was in the middle of being re-decorated, smelled of paint, window was open to try and clear fumes and room had been pressed back into service to take advantage of high demand
The service was very good and an excellent buffet breakfast was available. The location was also very convenient. It would have been better if there was a private hotel for customers as we had to park in the supermarket car park and there did seem to be a problem with gangs in the vacinity of the hotel. I think this was because it was a Friday night. We have previously visited on a sunday and it was very quiet.
good allround, simple rooms, everything worked and was clean + near the rail station. one staff member was very irritated when i asked for a receipt after paying cash for an extra night and no internet access afterall, (although local library was geat for that!)
good breakfast hotel décor faded.Noisy lift which looks like a factory lift inside. No soap or extras in bathroom just two towels for the two of us.
My original room was dirty, overheated with stained marked furniture, but the v.v.hot pipes made it impossible to sit, never mind sleep in. The receptionist on duty was v.helpful and managed to get me another room, still hot, but because it had more air coming in I could sleep. The heat from the pipes running through the room was at a dangerous level. I would not have taken a child into those rooms. I had to sleep with only the duvet cover, no duvet. This wasn't during a spell of hot weather!
The facilities were poor, needs updating Decor and poor quality food, ate out
friendly helpful receptionist Lift had been broken for a week and still not repaired - we were on the 3rd floor - fortunately we were only staying one night as we were in Hale for a wedding. There was no parking on site. Street parking was payable from 8.00am.
Quiet rooms with comfortable beds The local car park details in the hotel were out of date and dispite their bochure saying every room had a trouser press I could not find one in room 116
Great location and excellent value for money. Really nice breakfast and nice touch with the complimentary bottle of wine. Overall making for a very positive experience. Room was not as clean as it might be. Not a problem that the amenities were only basic, but carpet and beds looked like well overdue for replacement.
Quietness no room phone
Friendly duty manager Breakfast disappointing. Noisy until after midnight.
Good value for money. I stayed for one night. It is quiet and peaceful. A bit far from Wigan. If I was staying for more than one night it won't be cost effective to use a taxi every time you leave the hotel. If you have a car it is never a problem!
Proximity to my family was my No 1 priority. VFM and comfort also helped.
Comfortable beds, very friendly and helpful staff. Bathrooms could do with some updating.
Decent sized room and comfortable bed Wifi facilities in room were too expensive
relaxed atmosphere, quiet, easy access to local and regional ammenities paying extra for breakfast, the price of these rooms should have been inclusive
Close to centre of town Sunday morning staff were sitting on food counters and picking at food. I could not believe it.
The hotel room we stayed in was old and tired, the breakfast was a very poor offering.
Thay have now upgraded the Hotel and is much better as I stey here 2/3 times a year.
Room was located by lifts which was a little noisy
Friendly staff Dont like fag burns in carpets and smelly soft furnishings.
Vrry relaxed N/A
Location of hotel for shopping and visiting family Good value for money Staff very helpful Price of bar drinks seems high and food was not value for money, No vegetables with meeal, sausage & mash was exactly that!!!! Why no veg
nothing unhelpful staff , dirty rooms , overpriced
Clean, comfortable. Handy for town centre. Not easy to find and in a fairly unappealing location - poor lighting and condition of footpaths around hotel. Be careful if out walking!
Ladies very friendly and helpful. Breakfast fan-tas-tic. Accommodation delightful..
Excellent location. Ample Parking. friendly and helpful staff. My single bed had Ensuite. Had tea making capability. Breakfast was not even an additional option. But to be fair there were places around.
coffee available 24hrs in the reception area & a very good breakfast choice no highchairs
The staff were very good. The food was awful and we complained at the time.
Staff Helpful Beds too small
There was a good breakfast provided with plenty of choice and available for a good length of time. There was a wedding reception on the day we stayed which involved a very loud disco till late at night and our room was above this so you need to check beforehand and insist on a room well away from the disco area as our room was literally vibrating.
the hotel is clean in a good location good size bedroom and good breakfast, with plenty of parking.
There is a generator or somthing that starts up at about 6am. Wakes you up and then keeps you awake.
This Hotel is right under the flight path for Manchester Airport, where flights continue to arrive during the night. I got one hours sleep. This needs to be reflected in the price and the Hotel should invest in sound proofing.
Clean, comfortable and very good price. Nearly always stay there when in Manchester region. We could have done with a second bedside lamp in the double room - otherwise impossible to read in bed!
Comfortable rooms, excellent breakfast. The sink in our room was blocked, the shower above bath was impossible to regulate. A room change was arranged but the new room had a good shower minus a bath. We also had trouble with the door key on the second room.
It was quiet and spacious, with an excellent breakfast
As we came with friends for plane spotting, we appreciated location nearby of the MAN airport :-) Hotel staff was very friendly and helpfull. We had really good times in Pymgate Lodge :-)
credit card machine not working, staff unable to provide payment receipt as a result. There was a 1 hour wait had we decided to eat at the Hotel.
The location was ideal for an early morning flight from Manchester Airport and in close vicinity of a Beefeater pub for good value food. Illuminated "hotel name" sign located directly outside room window. Blackout curtuains required to block out the light pollution
The bedroom and bathroom were very clean, spacious, and well lite. The hotel is only 5 min drive to the Manchester Airport. Dinner is available and was very good. The couple who manage the hotel are super. No.
Friendly staff A few language problems and tv didn't work and staff were unable to help.
near to airport
Room was very nice and comfortable - the price was good. I would go again. No negative points
Lots of little things. The cups on the hostess tray were badly chipped. There was no water glass in the bathroom. All of the glass doors were very dirty. At dinner my table cloth needed to be changed. There were no paper napkins at any meal. The only coffee was instant coffee. There were no sugarless cereals. Only white toast was available.
Friendlyness of the staff Lacking cleanliness in the room (carpet, bed side tables, extensive mould behind the shower door)
the fact that we were staying in a hotel where family and friends were the attitude and inexperience of the people on reception
pub, breakfast, large room person at front desk did not have much of a service oriented or helpful attitude.
Big Room Was very noisy ( a stag do were staying the ame night as us) - would not for this reason use this hotel again
Price No internet or WiFi connection in rooms
Hotel is convenient, friendly and the restaurant offers good quality and value for money. Hotel is getting a bit worn. Rooms are always too hot and controls knobs on radiators are missing. Should offer a better bed and breakfast deal at weekends
Friendly, helpful staff - as usual. Room was very clean. We were supplied towels, but the room lacked soap/shampoo which had to be requested. The remote control for the tv didn't work, the remote itself was faulty, which got replaced. Also, one of the lights in the room was not working which we thought was a faulty bulb but after having the bulb replaced it transpired that the light itself is faulty.
Gym, Carvery. Advertised Large Screen Sports not working in bar. Man U V Chelsea!!!
ease of access. cleanliness
the hotel is looking tired and needs to come into the 21st century, the rooms are a bit tatty and you feel like you have gone back to the 1990s when i booked in i was given my room , i opend the door to find that the room was already occupied, i told the reception staff and they appoilgised and gave me another romm, the room was overlooking a roundabout on the east lancashire road, so the traffic noise was unaccepable, i was given a upgrade to a suite, to call a room with 2 duble beds in a suite is a bit of a joke , within 2 mins of entering my suite i could hear the noise of crying children from the roon next door, this was my third room so i put up wth it , as children go to bed quite early , but i forgot that they wake early to, the next day i was like a zombie.
I enjoyed my stay because I was with a gorgeous man Update the beds and the blankets to duvets
The staff in reception - both afternoon and evening - were exceptional. Nothing.
The rooms were comfortable and the staff were nice. Having a pub next door was good. I was overcharged. I was quoted 55 gbp on the website but charged 78 gbp. Also it cost 20 gbp for a black cab from Manchester airport which adds 40 gbp to the room costs so it shouldn't classify itself as an airport hotel.
Receptionist very helpful
Good clean and quiet accommodation
Location, the adjacent Thai restaurant Noise from the adjacent bar on weekend nights, breakfast was not included in the price as was promised when reserving the room
The location of the hotel was very nice. With two different restaurants to choose from (Thai and standard pub food). The breakfast is one of the best for me as for that price not even one in Hilton gets similar. One of the windows (double glazed) was not closing very well so a bit of noise could be heard during the stay. But could sleep well anyway as the hotel wasn't busy nor noisy and it was Saturday night.
No bad points No bad points
confortable frendly good access to eating place
Very friendly and helpful staff We had an early flight and could not have breakfast before we left.
Friendly staff excellent adjoining Thai restaurant None
The room was very good. Big, clean. Bed was very confy. Room was quiet. Hotel far away from town. You have to get a taxi everywhere or rent a car. No real restaurant available at the hotel to have a drink and chill but that will not put me off from staying there again next time I'm in Wigan.
location for area we needed to be in was very good. Staff were very helpful, the room was very clean excellent price. On the whole very happy with everything
Good staff clean rooms Bar to small
Convenient location with easy access to and from Motorway. Clean and comfortable room. Food at Tay Barns restaurant next door was acceptable but not great.Have stayed at Premier Inns with better Restaurant facilities.
It was exceptionally quiet and the beds were comfortable. We had a great night's sleep.
Hotel staff were very friendly if a little too corporate. Rooms are clean spacious and everything you would expect from a Premier Inn. Wasn't too keen on the restaurant next door but breakfast was fine.
Close by for the reason we visited to see family. and easy to get to from the Motor way
Nice staff, good location for where i needed to be Restaurant was not to my taste
room was large and clean shower facility was very poor, no pressure and very little water
No phone in room
Clean, not too far from football ground Price
Friendly staff, Good pub serving food and drinks next door, good breakfast, great value, good size rooms and comfy beds.
Our stay was a plesent one and the hotel met our needs well
Location and usual premier inn quality.
Good value for money. Spotlessly clean. Very friendly staff - nothing too much trouble - very helpful arranging a taxi for us. Only one issue - the window was closed but we could still hear the traffic because of a slight gap in the fitting although it didnt affect the temperature of the room.
Excellent service, communication and facilities None
Location convenient, room was clean, bed comfy, duvet excellent. Bathroom fan noisy, towels soft. Generally good. Unfortunately, the place for breakfast did not serve hot meals after 8.45, despite information stated breakfast was from 7-9am. Would recommend if this was sorted out. Cooked breakfast not available after 8.45am. Breakfast was stated as being available between 7 am and 9 am. Unfortunately, the place for breakfast did not serve hot meals after 8.45, although we had been informed breakfast was from 7-9am. Thankfully we hadn't paid in advance for it! We would therefore not recommend this place if expecting a full breakfast, which we were.
All good, receptionist was vey polite and helpful Breakfast was over-priced at £7.50 each no sky channels.
Excellent, friendly, genuine, attentive staff day and night. Even though the adjacent restaurant pub was closed for refurbishment the staff had gone out of their way to forewarn me and offer alternative accommodation. And at the £50 a night level offered this time Premier Inns are great, reliable places to stay. But at the ludicrous prices they have been trying to charge over the past 12 months they are way out of their league - we've cut our private and business use of P Inns by 90+% as a result. Nothing - everthing as expected.
Tim Good at reception Due to cumputer failure total mess up with payiny bill
Wigan North Premier Inn has friendly helpful staff and it is in a convenient easy to get to location. It is quiet and the accommodation is clean and of a high standard. We enjoyed our stay and would go their again. No
Close to motorway. Great breakfast. Average pub grub for an evening meal. Food very reasonably priced as were the drinks. Has anybody found how to get the £29.00 promotion. It always seems to be available somewhere else!!
The hotel was convenient, as it was close to the venue (Haigh Hall) for the wedding we were attending, the receptionist was very helpfull . It was right next door to a very busy Petrol Station
the staff were brilliant especially gemma, she was helpful and kind as were the other members of staff
it was clean and comfortable with pleasant, efficient and helpful staff
Good local facilities, clean, comfortable and close proximity to the airport
excellent receptionist very helpful and professional
My room was very nice, the bed was really comfy and big! The staff are really helpfull and friendly
Like other Premier Inns you get a comfortable bed and friendly service. This hotel is handy for people travelling from Manchester airport
Staff gave a wonderful welcome. Always smiling, always pleasant & went out of their way to help. There wasn't anything that was too much trouble. Always plenty of hot water & the shower was great! Having an adjoining great pub that served delicious food was an added boon! The room I had was classed as "disabled" but it really wasn't suitable for someone with certain disabilities, especially the bathroom for someone in a wheelchair. I feel that no advice was sought from an Access Committee or similar. However, the hotel has, at least, made an effort. Having to run the gauntlet of guests, both of the hotel and the adjoining pub, who were smoking outside the main entrance is a very unpleasant experience. And the cigarette ends lying about, because the smokers are too lazy to use the containers, do not give a very good first impression of the outside of the hotel or adjoining pub
we chose the hotel for its proximity to Quarry Bank Mill where we attended a wedding.
The bar area had chips under a table from the previous night when we came for breakfast, the tables in the smoking area were not clean, the ashtrays were full of used cigarettes, there were empty and broken glass also in the smoking area. The entrance to the bar area from the hotel was not clean and the same debris was there for the duration of our 2 day stay.
the staff were excellent, really friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and spacious. The breakfast staff very helpful and courteous nothing
Very convenient for driving on to Manchester Airport in the morning.
visit went well, no queries or problems. It is obviously a popular place I will reccomend it and will use it again no
Very pleasant staff at reception and in the restuarant Computer system wasn't always working
Very efficient staff. both rooms were excellent.
If u have a car convieniet to airport and city centre Not many shops nearby
The disabled bathroom should have a stool on which guests can sit while washing, cleaning teeth etc.
how close it was to the office i was working in, plus the facilities attached i.e a restuarant and pub, made the stay easier.
Great room with very comfortable bed.
Comfy bed Toilet wouldn't flush.
Quiet, calm, ticked all the boxes for a good night's sleep
Staff excellent nice large room good breakfast Spoilt by blocked sink and airport noise(which to be fair we did expect)
