The location was very nice! Close to the freeway and downtown area!! Our shower leaked and caused us to have to use the towels to mop up the water. When checking out, I notified the front desk clerk who didn't seem to care.
Newly renovated. Clean. Beautiful area Not that I didnt like it but the check in time. Cant check in after 1030p
Perfect location. Very clean. welcome staff. great restaurant locate on hotel site.
Cleanliness!! Very friendly staff. Definitely would stay again! There was only one partial roll of toilet paper in the room and a box of tissue with two tissues left. When arriving after driving some distance it is important to have enough toilet paper.
Location was good to walk into Los Gatos, price seemed a little high. Price for what we got.
The hotel had recently been renovated and everything was updated, clean, and fresh. Nice beds, good linens, nice décor.
Hotel was recently renovated, almost like new. It's close to Los Gatos but a very quiet location. Complimentary breakfast was served at a new restaurant next to the hotel, very nice.
Just a motel room, no restaurant, rooms need upgrading. Found a candy wrapper on the floor when we checked it, was still there on the second day. Ice buckets do not have a plastic bag (like EVERY other motel I have stayed at). They don't supply them.
For the area, it was a reasonable cost. Was comfortable and clean. Desk clerk was very nice. Other than computer issues described below, the hotel was fine for short stay. Computer system went down and they did not have a back-up plan to check people in, thus we were not able to get into our rooms for an extended time. A guest had to offer a temporary solution which they eventually followed. Room internet access difficult.
The location and the affordability. It was old, the curtains were well past their prime. The rooms were right out of the 80's. It was clean though.
Location was perfect for us and the place is warm and attractive with a very professional and helpful staff.
The hotel is conveniently located for car access to Santana Row and the Valley Fair Shopping Mall and has onsite parking facilities. The room was nice and comfortable but nothing fancy. We stayed there as we wanted to be close to the shopping areas.
Although we arrived late in the evening (about 10:30), we were greeted by the upbeat and friendly front desk staff, who quickly took care of checking us in. Not long after we got into our room, we received a call to check that all was well. We requested extra towels and they arrived in less than 10 minutes. The beds, pillows and bedding were 1st class and very comfortable. Our room was quiet and nicely appointed.
safe location, easy to acces free ways, excellent families restaurant next door of Hotel I have no complain.
Staff was fantastic and the hotel was very nice
Proximity to buisiness event; quiet Resturant not open
Very well situated place in the center of Silicon Valley. At least, the "Club Level" is of very high quality considering the price of the room. At the hotel itself, the dining service is not top-grade but sufficient. Anyway, the place is rounded by lot of restaurants.
yes there were a lot of noise during the night (of other guests)
The beds were uncomfortable..hard pellows and not a comfortable matress. The tv and dvd player were both borken..repoted to staff and they were unable to do anything. Also the almost 200 dollar hold on my card was not expected.
Nice rooms and very friendly staff
I just wish we had booked a longer stay!!!! Beautiful and luxurious, excellent service and amenities, and the beds were SO COMFORTABLE!!!!
Nice lobby, friendly hotel stuff, nice eniroment too old, breakfast food is not good, waiter offered a baby sit to us, but no seat belt and my 2 year old son felt down from the chair to the ground, furtunately no hurt. There are very limited shopping and restaraut choices in less than 10 minutes driving. Not convenient to move luggages to room.
I've been staying at the Toll House hotel four times a year for the past several years. For past visits the "free" WiFi used to be very slow, intermittent, and required constant re-logging in (or you could pay a daily fee to get adequate service). This visit I was pleased to see that they had upgraded the WiFi: it remains free and provided quite good performance throughout my stay,
Very nice place, old but well maintained I couldn't figure out where to park.
The staff was really really nice and everything was clean and mostly modern The rooms still felt older but it still had a lot ofoder amenities
Food was very good A good clean room and comfortable bed
Location. Second room was very nice.
The location was were we wanted to be. The first bed we had was hard. They did upgrade us to a better room and bed. The TV in both rooms did not work properly. Because of the low number of guests, the 'Breakfast' was skimpy and the coffee was poor.
The hotel does exhibit some age, but is well kept, located near family we are visiting, clean, staffing always very accommodating, parking is covered. The daily breakfast is excellent, represents a great value, eliminating the need to go off site. No complaints
Very comfortable room. Close to shopping and great food.
Convenient location, rooms are spacious Staff who were responsible for room service, hotel operator on phone were outright rude
The Valencia Hotel is one of my all time favourite hotels. the location is excellent, priced competitively and the staff are friendly and helpful. Great service!
the cleanliness and uniqueness of the room and facility
Fun location, great vibe, beautiful common areas and outdoor living space. Wonderful breakfast included with room. Called to confirm pool was open (November) with beverage service, were told it was and that someone would come out to offer us drinks. Nobody ever came for 3 hours.
Staycation Paradse... Ran away Halloween night... Great food drinks and security keep fun a perfect balance
Great hot tub and pool in a convenient location right in Santana row. Spacious rooms, well furnished and decorated. A welcome respite from Silicon Valley. N/a
This was a very nice stay. The free hot breakfast better than most. Has restaurant on site with room service. Food was good and beats out trying to find somewhere to eat in a strange town. Bed was very comfortable and slept great, was safe and quiet. Just than we had to pay a toothbrush and toothpaste but was only 50 cents!
We needed a basic, inexpensive local place to stay for a night while our house was being painted. The good parts: the room was reasonably quiet (not much outside noise), bed was comfortable, and breakfast was included in the room rate. The room was in a very bad state of repair. Two of the electrical outlets had their plates separated from the wall, with the wiring visible. We were afraid to plug anything into those outlets. Also, the surface of the bathtub was peeling off large areas of the front of the tub. This did not affect the usability of the tub, but it conveyed a really crummy, shabby impression. As is often the case in buildings of this age, the wall-mounted heating & air conditioning unit was quite noisy when running.
The location is close to town It has not been updated, ever. The short pooled water. Loud construction beginning at 7am outside my patio door. Very much like a motel 6.
The grounds locked nice. We rented three rooms. The only thing that I felt was not outdated was the carpet. One room the toilet seat fell off. Another room the leg on the desk chair was broken. The temperature of the water in the shower kept changing. I would never stay here again.
I absolutely loved the staff - they were all extremely friendly, helpful and informative. They went out of their way to help me with all sorts of logistics. The cleaning staff was very nice and did an excellent job. The pool area was great and the jacuzzi was a nice addition. The breakfast area was nice. I would have suggested more fresh fruit and stronger coffee but that is my taste. The landscaping of the grounds and parking area was really beautiful. The location was a bit close to the airport and the road. At times, the noise was a bit much for someone who likes to sleep with the windows open.
Very quiet. A "classic" motel that is generally pretty well maintained. A little grungy in the elevator area.
The near position to the city (san jose) and the swimming pool Breakfast is very poor, missing the microwave and the fridge.
I am not sure there is anything I liked about this hotel. Except maybe the price. Everything was very low-end and the free breakfast was not even worth the price...
Generally the rooms are very clean one of the main reasons I love to stay here . Upon checking in we opened one of our drawers in the room and there was a open condom wrapper and condom box from previous guest. I advised housekeeping when she went to clean the room said she would take care of it. However when we came back after she cleaned it the condom wrapper and box were still there. Had to let housekeeping know again to get problem taken care of. I have stayed here more then 4 times and the experience is always very pleasent and rooms very clean. This time was a little disappointing.
Convenience Breakfast facility was dirty and breakfast was limited, not much to choose from.
Mark, at reception, was one of the kindest, most helpful people in that position that I have met. When I arrived, the lobby was stuffy (actually, warm) and smelled of old cleaning chemicals...like if someone had used dirty mop water, but it was carpet. That left me with a bad first impression.
Good location. quiet
Clean, large rooms. Helpful staff. Good location (in a main road). No problem.
Nice and quiet. Room is cleaned. Nothing to not like. All good
Good place, price aligned. Nice internal decorations in a mixed of Spanish and Italian interiors. Breakfast better that other similar hotel in San Jose, they offer fresh fruit, that is a plus. Corridor air conditioning noisy. Dishes and accessories for breakfast not in a good state, scratched, damaged, etc.
Nothing was good about this place There were pubic hairs in the tub the beds were uncomfortable and not the right size the guy working the desk on night shift was a rude jerk and there were druggies hanging out in the parking lot.
I like the fact that it is walking distance from the convention center. No parking due to event.
So close to the airport and badly isolated that you can hear the planes in the room! Bad value for money compared to other holtels of similar quality in the area!
ridiculous that one must pay 25 dollars for parking plus 10 dollars for internet per night
Room was very clean, overall it is an excellent hotel Parking should be included in price, a little pricey
clean and quiet
A property in the Fairmont family. Being in historical downtown next to sites of value. Relying on amenities of a high end hotel which did not disappoint. The staff was friendly and helpful in all encounters. Extra fees for wifi these days seems unnecessary. Having to use hotel cards to go between tower and main facility (although security is appropriate).
Rooms Staff at the door
Walking distance to downtown San jose & Staff was great
Fancy, various locations to eat and enjoy yourself with partner and great America in a 13 min drive distance just a great stay after all and great valet service Beware of an extra 100$ charge at check in just in case you break anything in the hotel but will be refunded after check out and line is to long with no one trying to help them out to make the line go faster
Can't really think of anything. 1. Room was dated. 2. Room with a view had no view. 3. Parking was expensive. 4. Hotel had no charm or allure (other than the advertised picture).
Wonderful environment, great Beds close to San Jose Convention Center. Very Friendly Staff, impecible Service.
Location Bed was uncomfortable and did not have enough covers shower was outdated and shower head was cheap No coffee station in room Sparsely decorated
Great hotel, room and staff! Got free upgrade upon arrival and an extra 1/2 hour checkout time so we could go to the next door art museum without a hassle.
Clean rooms with feel of knowing they are clean Ac went out. Super hot. Small beds
I liked that it was downtown close to bars, clubs and restaurants.
Being able to use the upstairs business room for a meeting and size of my room.
It was quiet and the front desk was friendly. We live a few cities away and didn't want to drink and drive after a party. It served it's purpose. I was a bit grossed out by the cleanliness of the bathroom. Most if not all hotels I've been in have the toilet paper folded (arrow) and this one didn't it. To me the folded t.p. is a clue that the restroom was fresh and clean. It made me second guess if someone had used the restroom prior to checking in or if it was cleaned. The following morning I took a shower and noticed that a used bar soap was still in the corner of the shower. I didn't touch it because I don't know who used it or how long it had been sitting there. As I was getting out of the shower I noticed medium sized long black hair on the wall of the shower. Again, I assume from previous guest. It second guessed my opinion of the cleaniless of the hotel and how thorough they are cleaned. I felt as if the towels were changed and that was about it.
This hotel served the purpose for me - it was close to where I needed to be, and it was in my price range. Overall, it was a fairly pleasurable stay. The room was clean and roomy. Although, I didn't understand when I booked it, it was a handicap-accessible room - which things were laid out a little differently than I expected. Other than that, the staff was friendly. The complimentary breakfast was good - and even served until 10am, which allowed us to sleep in a bit. I didn't have any substantial negatives - only some things I would have preferred or expected to be different. For instance, there was only 1 table in the breakfast room itself. You had to take your food and sit at one of the tables or island in the lobby... just seemed odd. And one other minor thing, I would have wanted the TV to be a little bigger in size than just a 27".
It's a good hotel with all the facilities you need, conveniently positioned across the road from the Hyatt convention center. No free WiFi, which for the price of the room, I would have expected.
Great location and amazing hotel. The amenities were good as well. The rio was a nice size and I had a view of Levi Stadium. When I came back to the hotel at about 11pm there were no parking places. I believe outsiders were at the bar or guests had their friends visiting. When you are paying for a hotel room it's annoying not being able to park in the parking lot.
The restaurant had very high quality food for the price and the bar was elegant and very accessible. Need to have FREE wifi in the rooms! This is 2015 AND the hotel is in the heart of silicone valley. For shame! Hilton
Everything was great Everything was good all people there are helpful
Clean. Comfortable beds. Great shower. Friendly helpful staff.
Helpful and friendly staff who keep up with the demands and requests of the guest. Also, a very quiet and clean space that allowed us to get our rest.
Andy the concierge took care of us like an old friend.
Sound attenuation from room to room is significantly lacking. We had to be relocated after two days. But could still hear convesations and noises from adjoining rooms. The mattreses are old and lumpy.
Loved the room. Wish I could always get it at that price!
House setting kitchen
Good location, good price, excellent staff-very friendly, very courteous, very responsive, overall very enjoyable stay. Everyone from the cleaning staff to the front desk to management were excellent. Everything was in working order. The pull out couch was not as comfortable but then again it is a couch. I did not expect it to be plush.
It is centrally located to shopping and night life easy cab ride.
The kitchen had everything we needed,it was very clean, and breakfast was great. None.
Very nice property. Love having a full size kitchen in every room. The bed size was limited to a queen, which is okay, I just love a king sized bed! Breakfast was a continental plus as they had a waffle maker and party sausages and poached eggs. The TV is set up at an awkward angle from the bed. The sofa is also a bed, but I'm a person who has to watch tv to sleep. Very petty quibbles. This is a very nice property. Definately book if your worried about a nice clean room. This will impress you.
Room was very quiet, even with all of the airplane traffic on approach to San Jose Airport.
I really Liked its location, we were attending a event at the convention center and the hotel is actually leads into the convention center. That was great! We didn't have to walk at all. All staff members were extremely nice and willing to offer any help that they could offer. The hotel was very busy due to the event, but the staff still dealt with customers in a very polite and friendly manner. I also wanted to say thank you to this hotel for not treating us any different than there other guest, we have been to other hotels and due to our ethnic background have been treated like we were some how less. This hotel did an excellent job treating everybody well and respectively Thank you so much! Some of the things that we weren't so pleased with that room service had certain hours and that it wasn't 24 hours and that the rooms were a little smaller than what we excepted. But overall we had a great experience
Had a problem with the first room but they helped me switch rooms no questions asked
The valet service was overwhelmed since the hotel had no self park option. Plus, the valet was serving guests who weren't even staying at the hotel but attending a concert or conference in the area. It's a bit ridiculous that it takes 20 minutes to drop off a car with valet and another 20 minutes to pick it up.
Pay WiFi with speed tiers.
Excellent location, top choice for San Jose. Walking distance to major attractions and night life in the area. Excellent VTA transit access as well. Also consider the Hilton and Fairmont nearby. Valet parking is $29 with in/out privileges. This is a reasonable price for the area.
Great room overall, clean hotel in excellent location. Close to shops, food, and activities. Great service and friendly staff. Convenient parking (though it costs extra even without valet) garage connected to the hotel. Only a block away from Original Joe's. Despite a few quirks, I would stay here again. Charge for WiFi (unless you are an Elite member), ridiculous prices for snack shop food and goods ($5 for a Dairy Milk candy bar, $6 for an Odwalla Smoothie!), $45 for a t-shirt! Also, the hotel smells like the air freshener they pipe in at many of the Las Vegas hotels (could be a plus if you like that). Also, the choice of "aromatherapy" soaps are awful--why not go the clean, fresh scent of soap instead of burned wood?
Top notch hotel. Clean, newly remodeled, all amenities & on site restaurants etc The valet. He did not specify pricing of valet vs self park or exactly where self park was located.
The newly renovated rooms and baths are simple and elegant. The Hedley Club lounge serves good food & cocktails. Conveniently located in downtown San Jose, short walk to Convention center. The room lacked many standard amenities: 1) password protected, high speed Wi-Fi (Wi-Fi was free, slow and unsecured) 2) in room safe large enough to fit a laptop 3) stocked mini-bar (empty mini-fridge provided but there were no vending machines or in hotel shop to buy snacks & drinks) 4) in room guide/magazine with local/city info
room service was delicious and fast. Stay was very comfortable. Beautiful large bathroom. Great location.
The bathrooms were well furnished... Better than the actual rooms. The staff was very friendly. True price I paid was not worth the room. It was a very crampt room with ancient furniture. The rooms were a boring shade of beige and our window view was another building being constructed. It's layout seemed more that of a comfort inn with a price tag of 90 dollars a night rather than 150. It's not worth the price, if you have a car go to a comfort inn and save some money cause got the same experience.
We loved the late night pantry
Great hotel, big tubs, free breakfast, close to light rail, very close to Whole Foods, and close to downtown.
Room is very clean and quiet. Love the Jacuzzi. Need more cable channels.
Everything, from cleanliness of our room to the friendly service.
Location was convenient The staff was unfriendly, I did not feel welcome. The lighting in the room was terrible, air conditioning difficult to adjust, and carpet was dirty
The staff was amazing at accommodating our requests. I got the exact room I had hoped for. Convenient mini fridge, microwave, and disposable plates, silverware and paper towels were stocked in the room. There was a TV and a wall mounted radio, although it would have been better if the radio had a USB connection so we could play clearer music through our phones. Never got a chance to use the spa tub feature, but it looked like it would have been nice. We were literally right next door to CVS Pharmacy for any last minute necessities. I was also excited that Whole Foods was a 5 minute walk away at most. We had an easy walk to the SAP Arena where we watched the concert with the convenience of leaving our vehicle in the parking lot provided by the hotel. That saved about $25 in itself, and saved us from the concert traffic afterward. We were pleasantly surprised by the hot, cooked breakfast they provided from 6:30 to 9:30 am. Bacon, eggs, fruits, pancakes and french toast, plus other items we were too full to try. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel, especially if you are seeing a show at the SAP Arena. Update wall radio to allow USB hook up to smart phones. My fiance states the bed was comfortable, but to me it was just okay. You could hear people running around and cleaning going on during certain hours, but it didn't disturb my sleep. Overall, I had a very positive experience at this hotel.
You can't beat the price and the location I also like their breakfast .
Is a great hotel, in my groups opinion it was better suited for many people than the Fairmount Hotel. Next year for fanime we will be staying at the Arena Hotel the whole time.
2 queen size beds good for travel with family members breakfast is included free Wifi hotel is secured after 10pm
The room was beautifully remodeled with high ceilings and lots of space. Continental breakfast was filling and fresh. My first impression of the hotel was not great, however, the staff was friendly and the rooms were very clean. The rooms above us were a little noisy.
I had called ahead to make sure I coukd check in late, but when i got there, I couldn't find the front desk person (or anyone) for 5 minutes, then when I finally found her, she found my reservation, but couldn't tell what rooms were available & so had to call her manager, and long story short, it was just over half an hour between when I walked in the front door and walked into my room. She said it was her second day, which I can only imagine is really overwhelming, so I was trying to be patient, and I've had good experiences every other time I've stayed there, but i have to say, this one left a sour taste in my mouth.
The grounds are really nice with a large and comfortable patio seating area and swimming pool. The furnishings in the room were old, old, old, and poorly decorated.
Everything from the room/bathroom was spotless incredibly clean . beautiful place to stay. Absolutely no negative comments to say.also GREAT STAFF! Very helpful and on point..even if I have to go out of my way to stay here again it would be worth it.very quite also.no traffic noises etc.will be back for another stay asap!!!
Beautiful grounds Nice rework of what was there previously Nice pool and hot tub Good lounge Ample parking Comfortable bed Difficult to get to (in the middle of a neighborhood) Staff wouldn't print me a receipt (big issue on business travel) Pool / spa could be open later
We stayed here 1 night in room 121. It was a suite with easy access to the swimming pool. The back door lead right to the swimming pool. The pool looks bigger in the picture but it's still a excellent size. The staff was great and Sunday brunch was delicious. Good hotel to relax and get away from the regular 9-5. The only thing I can critique is we were there on a Saturday and there's was nothing special for dinner. The bar food was ok and room service food was ok. No restaurants walking distance but no big deal. Everything was releasing
Great grounds and plenty of character; a relaxing venue with history and luxury.
The staff was very helpful when it was found out that the website I had booked through hadn't communicated with the hotel fully and they had to go digging for my reservation. But I got a room, it was very nice, even if a bit cramped, but that didn't detract from my stay. The grounds were very nice. I enjoyed their exercise room, it was more filled out than most hotels. I just wish I had had warmer weather to enjoy the pool and more time to enjoy every other feature of Hayes Mansion.
Staff incredibly attentive The shortness of our stay
Used condom wrapper in the drawer. Need i say more.
Driving up the residential street and coming upon the entrance for the 1st time gives you a feeling of stepping back in time to another era. The attention to detail and the beautiful wood trim all around gave a feeling of a very special place. I had only one night to explore the mansion and surroundings.
At least once a year, our girls will have a dance competition/convention down the road at the Santa Clara Convention Center. We always choose to stay here instead of the hotels that are a bit closer. It's quieter, roomier, and besides, it only takes 5 minutes to drive to the convention center. (You could spend 5 minutes just waiting for an elevator at the other hotel!) The complimentary breakfast is excellent, and definitely a plus! We'll certainly come back again!
From the moment you enter the lobby, the blast of painted-over, allegedly-renovated cigarette-saturated waft almost knocks you off your feet. Even the "renovated" rooms feature popcorn ceilings and the stench is unbearable. Guess they should have burned it to the down and started over. I will ever stay in an Embassy Suites again.
Location and all the amenities was great! Our room was wonderful. Got a bit concerned about noise because our room was close to the elevator and vending machines, but we hardly heard any noise. Tony at the front desk was very helpful and gave great customer service. Thank you Tony!
Great service from staff, the cleanliness of the exercise and pool areas as well as the entire hotel. My kids and I also enjoyed the wonderful evening get-together and delicious breakfast!
Freindly staff and comfortable rooms. Ideally situated for Silicon Valley business.
Location was close to the airport and the larger room was nice. Bed was comfortable. The room was not clean. Hair on bed and in bed sheets, hair in bathroom and it had a smell that resembled an unclean room. The t.v. Did not have any pay per view movies for the kids or is to watch. Only cable. The pool was dirty and had a horrible smell of dirty gym socks mixed with too much chlorine. Hot tub was luke warm and cloudy. Pool was also cloudy. The lobby was not as nice as other Embassy Suites.
Location. very strategic and close to convention center The price is ridiculous, too high for a mediocre room, large, but very old and noisy.
Bathrooms redone Bad wifi
I normally do not go out of my way to write reviews, but in this case, the management and the front desk staff went so out of their way to make sure that our stay was perfect that I truly felt compelled to do so. At first, I was surprised at how highly a motel of this style and price was rated on every website we checked. Low on options, we booked it anyway, albeit skeptically. But thankfully for Flamingo, they squashed our skepticism upon check-in and we realized the reviews were exactly right, if not high enough. I've stayed at many similar motels through the years, and usually you get what you pay for, but not at Flamingo because here you get more. Great service, good location, clean rooms, incredibly polite and attentive staff made our trip to San Jose perfect! A+ n/a
