Cheap renovations with premium cost of accommodation. Parking cost is unreasonable. Our first room had not been cleaned after the previous guests. We were switched to a worse/smaller room. There was no acoustic privacy.
Location, beach access
Poor hotel management, and poor service when allocating rooms and requesting guests to change rooms. They tried to downgrade us on the first night (the room was already paid for), and also offered us to sleep at an other hotel on the first night because our room was not available. Not accessible. Swimming pool area: Bathroom at the pool could be the bathroom of a 2 star hotel, and there are no indoor shower.
all especially in the interior areas
the pool area was dirty all time
Management handled room complication well Interesting modern design in room Great beachfront view and access Sea salt hand scrub in the bathroom was amazing Great location and ambiance
Our room was not clean and was in complete shambles when they sent us up there at check-in. (Imagine walking into a room that looks like a rock band had just partied there. We were speechless.) The Bellhop did not give us a claim tag for our luggage we dropped off so we had to go identify it in the storage room and the bellhop had the nerve to ask for a tip after. There was a significant amount of blood on the walls between the doors of our room and the room next door (how can you miss that? who is looking over this place??)
Aside from everything being over-priced, it's situated in a very convenient location that's a few blocks down from all the shops and restaurants, plus the rooms were extremely comfortable! Everything was nice and CLEAN, staff was friendly, and the hotel is a couple steps away from the beach. Will definitely choose this place again!
Over-priced services, drinks and food...and they charged us a $30 resort fee per day which we weren't informed about when we first checked in.
Really enjoyed my stay here. The ocean facing room was beautiful and comfortable with a nice clean modern design aesthetic that was very minimal and lent itself to the great view and balcony. The staff throughout was all smiles and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves just fine. A great location just above south beach to keep you close to the night life and local color but far enough away to be comfortable. I had such a good stay that I booked a second night. Also good internet speeds which was crucial since I was on business and uploading lots of files.
All staff members I came into contact with were exceptional! The pool and beach attendants were like no other (so friendly and eager to help)! The room was nice and clean. The hotels proximity to the beach was why I chose this hotel.
During my three day stay, I saw police at the hotel on two different occasions. Just not something you really want to see while your on vacation trying to relax. I know this is obviously something the hotel couldn't control. Too many items are stocked in the refrigerator inside the hotel room. There were so many items, that I could hardly fit anything that I had purchased inside of it.
We got a great rate which made a stay here possible. the property was very pretty and well kept but they seemed chronically understaffed. Pool/beach baskets were a nice treat and the location is ideal. You get a welcome drink, a pair of loungers and wifi with your resort fee.
They lost our reservation so it took a little extra time at check in, but they did upgrade our room slightly. Our room was inconsistently cleaned/restocked and the lack of staff caused longer than expected wait times throughout the property. The pool was also frequently 'full' with no loungers available.
Paper thin walls, unprofessional waiters, had to switch rooms due to drilling noise at 1am
Super clean, very modern rooms that were beautiful, bathroom was great, unexpected balcony (not large enough to do anything but stand on but still very nice), pool amenities, help down on the beach, extremely nice staff around the pool deck/beach area. Everything was great. Super nice hotel I couldn't see the point in spending any more to go somewhere else.
We stayed for two nights (March 18-19). Prior to the stay, a few days before arrival, I had tried calling the hotel front desk just to confirm the reservation and make sure everything was set and wasn't able to get someone to answer. The phone rang out and went to a weird voicemail that certainly wasn't representative of a hotel in this price range.. I went online to go to their site to find out that the James group had sold this hotel the previous Monday to Starwood Hotels. I couldn't find the new site since Google was still pulling James Royal Palm, and that it was still in business. Long story short, I called a Starwoods reservation line and they were able to confirm the reservation, and I told them about the advertised phone number and she said she would reach out to a team to fix that issue. Obviously just a transitional thing, but, for people staying it was a bit concerning. Other than that the only thing that keeps this hotel from 5 stars right now, and perhaps Starwood will fix that, is that when you call the front desk you don't get an answer. Not only with the previously mentioned issue, but calling from inside the room no one would pick up after 10+ rings. 5 star hotels to me would certainly answer the front desk call from people staying.
