Clean, comfortable rooms. The staff was helpful and polite. Awesome breakfast spread!
I liked the room, bathroom, clean bed every day, I liked the breakfast, the vicinity of the Piazza Duomo
The location of this hotel, only 5 minutes from the center, close to Duomo and the metro too. The staff were all helpful, the buffet breakfast had a good selection to choose from and was all very nice and fresh.
An extremely highly professionally run hotel, friendly & very informative staff. I required a doctor and the restaurant provided special dietry needs without any fuss.
location, value for money, amazing breakfast
The check in procedure was really quick, they spoke English to us and gave us all the details we needed, then let us get on with our short break.
Most the location
politeness, and discreet staff
Location and friendly staff.
We arrived in Milan in the AM and the hotel allowed us to check in when we got there even though it was well before the check-in time.
Professionalism and helpfulness of staff; excellent breakfast, choice of daily newspapers, etc. There were ashtrays in my "non-smoking" room; the walls and floor were dark.
Location, Hotel Bar
very very nice position near Duomo. You can walk to the metro by walking. Hotel stuff are very helpfull and do their job well.
it was cold in the room
The staff was extremely helpful and they spoke English very well.
Style and comfort, very close to the Doumo I would have liked more cleanliness of the room and bathroom, especially, from the very first day, but this was corrected in next day
the staff were excellent - very inviting and welcoming. the room was very modern and clean and the bed was very comfortable. very close to all shopping and restaurants - excellent location.
Lack of staff able to iron a shirt at 10pm. No housekeeper services available.
central location & room we had was grand and spacious breakfast was so-so but then
Great location by the Duamo accompanied by helpful and efficient staff behavior
location. Right next to the Duomo and the Galleria. the breakfast room was a little pathetic. the chairs cut off the circulation to your lower legs and your feet fall asleep.
reception staff wereunbeliveble bad.
The bar and the staff there was a funny distinctive smell in the room and I don't know what was the cause.
Good location, helpful staff, decor and Trattoria Bagutta on Via Monte Napoleone The terrace on our room was a bit grubby, silly internet prices and no internet in room other than the tv.
The service was very good. The concierge advise very helpful. The location from our point of view was perfect with the shops and Duomo all close. We never ate in the hotel however I understand the restaurant to be very good.
Service is good, the location is excellent for shopping in Milan The classic number is not comfortable and very small, it was street view and it was very noisy in the morning.
1 Location is perfect for shopping! Just this! When they gave me the key from the room! The room was dirty! After they are changed the room! Air Condition system was broken! Lamp in the toilet was broken!
Although we had a reservation for 3 nights, we've stayed there only one night because the conditions were like a 2 stars hotel.
staff was very helpful and accomodating photos at booking.com indicated swimming pool, but ther4e is no pool. The spa was closed during our stay
I stayed for two nights the location of the hotel is exellent for somone who wants to do shopping in melan the colors and design of the rooms is outdated and the reception and lounge area is dim and lacks artificial lighting
I have always found the Carlton to have all ready upon my arrival. My room was available and all was in order. The staff is always very helpful and informative. You cannot beat the location of the hotel to the great shops. The one thing i find about my stay to need updating is the comfort of the bed. Mattress, pillows and possibly softness of sheets need some change. It is not the most comfortable.
The breakfast is very good and the location is perfect.
The location is good...very accessible to the places we'd like to go to.
location very old room
fresh breakfast, location even we booked non smoking room, it stink from the cigarets
Breakfast was good -- varied, tasty, and fresh. Good location -- minutes to Duomo and other places of interest. TV had free channels in a variety of languages. Everything (except what I list under "didn't like") else was just fine. In addition to what I pre-paid while booking, I was charged 5 euros per day for some sort of cover/tax/fee -- does not seem right. The front desk clerk was polite, well-informed, and spoke good English, but his breath smelled unhealthy. The shoe-shining machine on my floor was out of creme. I reported the problem Saturday afternoon, but it remained unaddressed through Sunday and Monday morning, when I left. The hotel's plumbing and other fixtures are ancient -- even if in good repair. For example, I was unable to figure out, how to raise the water-temperature in the shower to my liking.
lareg rooms & the size of the bed
Restuarant staff very nice pleasant people the bed was so hard and only news channels on tv in english tv was changed for new digital one but system needs to catch up with it lol
central, very nice and romantic room no internet wireless
Very central - Close to Tram and Metro Rooms are small and dark. Quite Expensive
Good location, although on a main throughfare, ease of access into the city was unparrelled. Yes there is Satelite TV , but only one english language channel and that was CNN.
Room was nicely furnished and comfortable. Lady at reception did not welcome us or give any information such as where and when breakfast was available. We were not thanked on departure when we paid our bill - reception staff talked to each other and we were taken for granted.
very good breakfast, kids are welcome, rooms are a bit small but clean. The center is at walking distance for shopping or visiting the city. By walking the Hotel it is a bit far from the Navigli (for dinner) and from the Parco delle Basiliche (where are playgrouds for children) , about 20min and with small children sometime it is not easy... But by taxi it is only few minutes.
services in the restaurant
The kindness and helpfulness of all the staff The high price of the parking
The staffs are very kind, especially the ones at the check-in counter. The guy at night shift empathically helped me when I had a problem to connect to their wireless internet. We cannot have such a real sympathetic service in other hotels in recent years. We couldn't solve the problem with my PC, then he let me rent a USB vodafone wireless device which the hotel had contract with.
People Low ratio comfort/rate
helpful staff, centrally located, cleanliness
The hotel was very central and fairly quiet. The staff were helpful and friendly. We had the most apalling smell in the bathroom, which the manager said was atmospheric pressure!!!!. They did move us, but I think it was a problem in the hotel. The room was smaller than I would have expected from the web-site photos. The swimming pool was pond-like.The breakfast was not as good as other hotels that I have stayed in, in the same class.
Concierge not knowledgeable about city.
It is very well located, at 100 meters from Duomo and 200 m from the Galleria V.E. Mattress was not in its best shape. It had two depressions that made the night difficult for a person with back pain. If it's your case, inspect the room before check-in.
Excelent location, near Duomo and various shops and restaurants. Room a bit small
location only. to snoby service, not friendly: not comfortable bed, very itchy blankets:room service who sneaks to my room and turns air-conditioner off-sign do not disturb was posted at the door.
Location Room was very small. Requested larger room but none available.
location & comfort would not use it at rack rate. front office staff not so good
Location The walls of the rooms are draped with tissue which fills up with bacteria.Toilets were a little old. Some of the staff is grumpy
excellent staff, prime location
Fantastic location. Small rooms and some grumpy staff, facilities somewhat worn.
Excellent location, good breakfast, nice helpful staff, pleasant interior. Altogether a very good place that I would go back to. I found the bed a bit soft and the wi-fi was not very good.
The location is excellent, the rooms very generous, the furnishings tasteful, not chintzy nor bling, quite 1950s elegant. The hotel is in a busy square, definitely more business than romantic.
Location August is a very quiet month in Milan and many things are either closed or running half open. Hotel was fine but starting to show signs of the need for a makeover.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast offer was also excellent. I didn't like the bar area which is located in the reception. As a lone traveller it is sometimes nice to sit and relax somewhere other than your room, somewhere in public with other people around which is comfortable and safe but I had no desire to use this hotel's bar as its effectively in the hallway.
The hotel staff never bothers you trying to move suitcases etc. yet they are there in the background if you need them. coming in and out is simple and one always feels comfortable.
very well located -
Great A/C on very hot day. Porter was nice and helpful putting away our luggage when we were too early to check in. Front office staff was rude. When we advised we had a reservation and were checkin in the young woman, instead of asking for our name, said how can I check you in if I don't know who you are. She was similarly rude to the couple in front of us. Maybe she was having a bad day but this is not acceptable for someone in the service industry.
It is in a good location, close to downtown, very comfortable beds and it is very clean. The rooms were too warm, could not be controlled, The streets are very noisy, you cannot really open a window.
Very clean with exceptional breakfast facility and menu.
The hotel was close enough to walk to most of what we wanted to see. Subway station was close by. Great in-house restaurant for dinner. Our room was nice and clean plus it was quiet. Would stay there again.
Value for money, location, confort...
I was in the center on Milan, 2 mins walk from all best restaurants and shops.
The staff are very helpful
Very comfortable room and very quiet, staff very friendly and helpful. Love the area for shopping and seeing the sites. The hotel's restaurant on the weekend had a limited menu (maybe chef does not work on weekends?) forcing us to go out to a mediocre one in the area. There are very few restaurants in the area.
Location, room, bathroom are exellent Lack of hangers in the bathroom, restaurant staff at breakfast is not very friendly
The room. Was very comfortable and cosy. Too many sweets and cakes at breakfast.
Very comfortable Hotel and excellent staff Nothing
It was very modern and the pillows were very comfortable and the shower and toiletries were the best I've experienced, especially in Italy. it did not include the typical breakfast in the a.m.
Fantastic end to a Northwest Italy experience: the perfect luxury finish situated in the heart of the fantastic luxury shopping strips of Milan, but in a quiet street in the middle of extravagant hustle & bustle. Zero
Hotel staff was very nice and room was quiet. Pure choice milk product and fruits for breakfast, mainly cakes - there weren't kefir or curd (cottage cheese).
Good position. Helpful staff. Good quality fixtures. Quiet. Hotel dining a bit boring.
Please write at least 15 words Room service. Very unorganized
te spa relax its very good, wen zou are tired of all dhe shooping in milani dhe spa relax is the beter thing in this moment. the staf it was a litele slowli
The location of the Hotel Boscolo is perfect, nice designer Hotel The bathroom is much to small, the superiour room even doesn't have a bath, and the nice shower doesn't have much pressure on the water. The closets are very tiny and they are located in the small bathroom. The staff wasn't so friendly. The reception is just a table, so not client friendly. The seperate toilet is very noisy.
Location and staff was very friendly
The hotel is realy unconventional and creative in case of design. Services are not coresponding to five star hotel. The pool, which is one of the main atractivness is closing too early (8pm). We changed the room because of broken leg of the bed and broken shower. In the another room was noisy a electric equipment whole night. There was 15minutes waiting for a breakfest table. The breakfest choice was limited less than usual three stars hotel, despite the cost of breakfest was 35E per person. Very far from to be satisfied...
The room style and location Only the time of checkin and checkout
Location was perfect. Rooms very nicely done up. Got a great rate as it was pretty much @ the eleventh hour.
pool, restorant problems with staff
Excellent design, in room amenities and overall feeling, excellent location, but may get stuck in traffic to get close, so be prepared to walk "last mile" if you want to get there quicker, new and trendy Poor breakfast (charged extra 35Eur pp, without info that it is not included in price, not a value for money), little additional suggestion was offered - just menu handed, poor English of some staff (I guess they were not yet comfortable with their skills as hotel just opened), although express checkout was ordered in the evening, next morning had to wait for checkout, not yet many guests so hotel felt deserted
The location together with the view of the Duomo is, certainly, a big advantage! Also I'd point out a markable originality and cosyness of the rooms. Unfortunately, the level of service didn't meet our requirements. Thus, we waited for the in-room breakfast (consisting of omelet!!!) for an hour, giving constant calls to the room service and were almost late for the train after it. The change of the room also took quite a lot, something about an hour as well. All in all, they don't hurry to make guests' stay comfortable.
Comfort, size of rooms, design, location and service Insufficient shelfing for putting toiletries & clothes in the shower area
Corteous staff Aircon broken for 1 day, bedroom small for price
location bed uncomfortable, noisy room and poor value
position near central milan
room was right next ddor to private terrace that was opened up for private functions in the evening- it was very noisy.
Great location, convenient room with all appliances and comfort, profesional and helpful staff. Painfully expensive breakfast. Not justified by the product supplied.
The Location - the decor and the friendly staff
Enjoying the nearby to shopping malls, secure area and availibility of surrounding service to travellers Air conditoning at summer season
Location and excellent personel Considering the hotel price, it is not right that breakfast is not included. The hotel across the strett - Straf offers excellent breakfast for the same price.
the only good thing is the location. its a 3 star hotel at best.i and my friends will never book this hotel again.
the location and the desing the dining room without natural light
Right next to Duomo. Prefect location. Modern and minimalist interiors. 1- The room heating system is quite poor. The floors are concrete and cold. In order to increase the room temperature, you should incerase the fan speed which is unconfortably noisy. An underfloor heating system should be a perfect altrnative. 2- Breakfast room is not comfortable.
Nice, very helpfu and friendly staff. Cool design of rooms. Everything vwas in order. Small room, hard bed.
Ver y good service, great little bar, excellent location.
the location, the coziness, the staff, the bar the elevator
The staff was very kind! The room was not cleaned very well
friendly staff ,good location very convenience no water boiler(no hot water to drink)its not convenience for family with small children.
very good breakfast some of lights and room keys were not working
Very good location. I booked a room at Hotel Straf (Via San Raffaele 3, Centro Storico, Milano , 20121, Italy). I paid online via booking.com on October 18 2010 the total price of 1089 eur. When I returned home I noticed four (!) payments to the above hotel: - 1089 EUR paid on November 4
I picked Hotel Straff for the design and location and luxuriousness and I was not dissapointed!! I read about all the bad reviews of the breakfast and they are not true!!! The breakfast is delicious and has great coffee, great bread, great muesli and soy milk!!!!!
Unique hotel! Room was quiet. Breakfast was efficent. Staff was very helpful! I prefer a bathtub to a shower, but rooms with bathtubs are on the street side which is noisy.
The breakfast was very good. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The windows should be updated to cut down on some of the noise from the street.
close to city center hotel uses a public parking in the nearby. it's difficult to park in front of the hotel to load your luggage
A porter comes and deliver to my room. I haven't experienced this for so long time. The desk lamp's bulb was out. But as soon as I claimed, a hotel staff came to my room for changing it.
The location The street is load, so it is almost impossible to open the window. It is definetly not a four star hotel, but other than that it is okay.
Old interior, need refurbishment. Small rooms.
Location was excellent Room much too warm and AC not working. I would not have described the room as a suite but rather a large double room with extra bed. Room was basic but quite adequate.
very limited room service no tea/coffee available at night
Location excellent for central Milan
The location was perfect for exploring Milan.
proximity to tourist sites
Helpful, friendly staff. Good location. Comfortable and luxurious. I do not think that the breafkfast should be charged as an item on its own. It should be included in the price.
The room was very european and historically beautiful with a marble bathroom, leather furniture and oriental rugs. The staff was great and went out of their way for us. Perfect location for Milan shopping and seeing the Duomo! The food at the bar menu was a bit limiting ( we did not eat at the main hotel restaurant). The more casual restaurant had music that was too loud in the evening, but it stopped by 11pm.
Great location in the middle of the shopping district.
The service and the hotel staff The price, too expensive
great help in reservations etc by concierge
location, elegance, staff breakfast cost is excessive
we liked very much the staff. they were help us all the time. the room was very clean, the buffet at breakfast was very good we didn't like that this kind of hotel hasn't free internet in the room.
Peace and quiet no intrusion to privacy
The feeling to stay in the same palace as Verdi. The history.
The staff were very nice and helpfull The cost felt were high
The room Food
top area for shooping
The staff are very good and helpful The breakfast buffet
all mentioned above. location, service, room space (stayed at normal double)/ expensive but it is worth of it. nothing
The courtesy of the staff. Everyone was absolutely fantastic, from the doormen to the guest relations manager Anja. The rooms and the corridors are a bit too dark and the room furnishings a bit too austere.
The hotel was newly renovated and still the renovation takes place now. The facilities of the room was very great. It was very near to the historical site such as Duomo, etc. Everything was wonderful.
Nice rooms, i think just renovated! good location for shopping and to visit restaurants in Milan. Rooms are great, only i think downstairs (reception and breakfast room ) can also use a renovation, reception and lobby are a bit old and not in the style of the rooms.
The location is okay, is near to M3 and could easily reach the Duomo by walk. The room is a little small.
Location, cleanliness of the room, recently renovated. Excellent choice for a 3-star hotel near the centre. Quite comfortable! Taking into account the prices in Milan, quite good value for money. No Parking available!!And parking in Milan is a nightmare and extremely expensive.
the staf we met arivving at the hotel were not kind
The staff was most friendly and helpful. Furthermore the location was perfect, really close to the city centre. Parking facilities nearby.
Location and was good for the *** hotel
Hotel Canada was a superb choice for our stay in Milan. The rooms have been renovated and are of a very high standard - better than you would expect from a 3 star hotel. The location is excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I really couldn't find a fault during our stay and have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to others.
The rooms were amazing for a 3 star hotel. their room service is great Their breakfast wasn't that good not much of food to choose from. location as well was a bit far from shops and all the nice places. Their TV had only the italian channels not much to see if you donot understand italian
Air conditioning didn't worked.
