I called Payless to make sure I could pick up a car with my later flight (expected arrival time 10 pm), even though their office hours say they close at 10. The agent I spoke to said "that location allows for pick-up and drop-off 24/7. When I arrived 30 minutes late because of a delayed flight, the Payless counter was closed with a handwritten note to go to the Avis counter to pick up my car. After a 2 hour wait in the Avis rental line, I was required to rent a new car from Avis and was told they (the Avis counter) do not have access to the Payless inventory. I waited an hour at the counter upstairs to get the paperwork for a prepaid reservation. Then went downstairs where I waited another hour to be given a car. The employees told us we were lucky because others waited three hours earlier.Reviewed 13 Oct 2023
