The hotel provided many amenities that were practical and enhanced my stay. These included heated outdoor areas and a heated pool in winter. There was more than ample secure parking and the staff were friendly and efficient. The hotel is in walking distance (8-10 minutes) to downtown and my room was quietly located away from major traffic.

Lovely hotel, nicely spiffed up without being too fancy. Slept great, easy to park, made an excellent base in Santa Cruz for the weekend.

Pool was great for kids and near a place to order food. Room was a bit small but comfortable for a family of 4. Good location, close enough to the beach but still needed to drive to it. Near a homeless encampment so that was not great. But the hotel can’t do much about that. The elevator in the building kept breaking down. No bueno when getting to and from the top floor. Staff were great.

Pool was heated! Great pool side restaurant. Staff busted their humps while being understaffed. Unfortunately there was a homeless encampment two blocks from the hotel which prevented us from going to the park. Elevators broke down twice in a two day period. Only 4 flights so not a huge issue.

Pros (+) Upscale hotel very close to the beach. The interiors are very well appointed and well thought off. The heated pool and hot tub are quite awesome and the pool side bar is a blessing. Pros (+) The hotel staff gave our party of 150 people 5 star service, the food created for the buffet was excellent, valet service for our guests was a wonderful touch, the ballroom was spacious with tasteful decor, and our private room was clean and well designed. Above all our event planner was knowledgeable and accommodating!
Cons (-) I can't come up with a negative comment.
