Overall this is a good hotel with very nice staff. What I expect from a Marriott. Everything was clean and there was tons of parking for self park. Our room was spacious and the hotel was quite. The pool looked very popular for families and the restaurant always had people in it- but we didn't visit either. Not sure why they charge you to self park @ $10 a night.
The staff is actually warm and welcoming, not just cold or professional. The rooms are smart and clean and the beds are unusually comfortable. The decor and cleanliness of the pool area is refreshing; the bar attached to the pool deck is a very nice touch. The jets in the spa were weak to non-existent. I am a "spa snob" though, so my judgment may be overstated. I have a bad back, so I always look for places with a spa. I am, nevertheless, glad that the Paradox had a spa: the water was hot and the water was clean. For that, I am grateful. However, without working jets, I have to give the Paradox less than a perfect rating. Please excuse my snobbery.
Parking situation was odd. Lot was under construction and hard to understand how to enter the hotel. Don't think that there should have been a charge for self parking.
The hotel staff gave our party of 150 people 5 star service, the food created for the buffet was excellent, valet service for our guests was a wonderful touch, the ballroom was spacious with tasteful decor, and our private room was clean and well designed. Above all our event planner was knowledgeable and accommodating! I can't come up with a negative comment.
Great facility, good location. Sweet shower! Nice towels. Coffee maker and fridge in room. Comfortable beds. nothing off hand
Great location, convenient to downtown, it's been relatively recently refurbished and is easy on the eye. Little noisy, could clearly hear the people in adjacent rooms. They weren't noisy people, weren't partying or a nuisance, but you could clearly hear them talk, cough.
Friendly staff, clean, nice pool , big shower Eco designer's bad dream. Tree stump coffee table in room to match wood grain tile, cast iron squiireels hanging from dining room hall. Besides having a radio tower directly opposite the rear rooms of the hotel, the bathroom noise was incredible. Jet flush toilet, bathroom fan to wake the dead and bathroom barn door on metal track . What were they thinking? Fire alarm at 4:12 am, no robes in room, chipped water glass, clock radio alarm went off at 5:30 we did not set. Waited for 20 minutes at breakfast to be told that they could not soft boil an egg, so we cancelled breakfast and left.
Overall I really liked the concept of the hotel. My room was comfortable and well designed. The lobby, pool area, and touches like the mats by the elevator were nice. Staff was very helpful and kind when I complained about the pool issues, the manager of the restaurant let me know that they're going to hire a pool attendant. This hotel is a distance from the beach and on a very busy road so I feel like the people including myself book it because of the pool area which has a great design and an area to eat outside and enjoy the sun. There were clear rules around the pool, no kids under 14 in the hot tub, no children not potty trained in the pool, no jumping or diving from the sides of the pool. No employee of the hotel or restaurant was enforcing these rules when I was there for a 2 day getaway from my home in San Francisco. I witnessed a baby in a diaper in the heated pool, there were children under 14, under 5 years old and babies, with their parents in the hot tub, and adults and children dive bombing the pool so I was getting splashed with water when I was trying to relax. This hotel is in the Marriott chain, Marriott knows what's safe and posted all of the rules, the hotel needs to enforce them so everyone, people with kids and without, can enjoy their stay.
the shower, the rooms were small
Location Restaurant service was terrible!!
Front desk staff are great. I don't know if they were all on their 12th cup of coffee or if they're just all walking Prozacs, but everyone was delightful. Helpful as well. Rooms are well laid out and designed. Clean. Comfortable beds and good sheets. There was this rather loud machine-like noise coming from upstairs. It didn't sound like the neighbors. More like the ventilation or something. I checked the third floor and it's just more rooms. A family of ice machines above us? An obnoxious ghost from a murder involving an ice machine some years ago before this hotel? Knowing how people can be on the internet, let me follow up with the following-- I'm kidding.
No complaints. Accommodated all of our requests. Would stay here again.
The location is fantastic, close to the beach and downtown. Love that they have bicycle rentals now. The staff is great, very friendly and professional. The pool is nice and clean. We stayed here 2 years ago and it seems to have gone downhill since then. The furniture was beat up, the linens soiled. It was a busy weekend in Santa Cruz and the rates were very high as well.
Close to the beach. Two wall plus didn't work. Strong smell of cleaning products. We had to air out the room. Asked for a quiet room but room was facing pool. Maid came in without us having a chance to respond to her one knock.
I had a great time in my visit to ocean pacific lodge the room was great the location is excellent the breakfast was filling and delicious No smoking rooms or designated smoking areas.
Only several minutes walk to the beach! The location is convenient and close to everything. We booked the king room with jetted tub. The room was very clean, I thought the layout was a bit odd but we managed and it actually worked out great! The bed was super comfortable! I'm sad we couldn't stay longer because the rain started to come in and we wanted to make it back home before the storm came. The pool area from where I could see on the third floor looked decent. Each floor had ice and vending machines which was awesome! I wasn't hungry so we didn't look at the breakfast options and I'm bummed I didn't. The staff were pleasant. Overall, we'd definitely come back! Well worth the money! The jetted tub were a little outdated but it was huge!
Clean & big. Very spacious.
The room was spacious for one or two adults, furniture & deco were pleading & not garish. The bed was comfortable - no soreness & refreshed in the morning. The bathroom's great - double shower & a separate vanity station so 2 can easily share & get ready simultaneously. The office & housekeeping staff were very nice, informative & accomodating. My son is ending is undergrad time at UCSC & I'm sure that I'll be staying here again this summer as we transition him to his next academic pursuit. Parking spaces are too small - some are just silly access-wise. Also, access to the hotel is right on a roundabout. This is a pain in the ass & will confuse your GPS app :( More of a city problem (everybody hates the roundabouts) than a hotel problem but be aware.
Staff was excellent; very nice and helpful. Location was convenient. Room was clean. There was a $20 charge for the rollaway bed, and $25 charge for a late checkout (12 - 3PM). Bed was a little uncomfortable.
Great location - quick walk to the water. Staff was great - friendly at check-in, brought us a crib for the little one. Pool and breakfast included. Obviously not a 5-star resort, but I would definitely go back for a nice, convenient place to stay in Santa Cruz
The beds were very clean and comfortable. The vending machines were broken.. The parking lot was full on a Monday night and the spaces are so small every car was double parked ( very frustrating). I especially didn't like how the hotel sat on a busy street corner. The pool area also closed very early, 9pm which seemed strange for a vacation town..
Free Parking in secure lot Room was too small for two people, no closet, no wifi when I checked in, no phone to call desk clerk (who wasn't on site) about issues. No elevator ( I have a mobility problem). Clerk answered my complaints with an attitude. I would not stay here again.
The location and friendly service. Great experience. Will return in the future.
Staff was friendly and the room was great. I will stay there again when I go to Santa Cruz I had trouble connecting to the internet.
Loved it. The staff was extra friendly and very helpful.
The desk clerk, Brandy, gave us quick, effective help when we were having trouble making the reservation online. When we stayed at the motel, we found that kind of friendly help always available, and the beds exceedingly comfortable. The free breakfast was very extensive and well managed. Nothing
We hadn't been to Santa Cruz in so long and just wanted a nice place to relax and we found that ! It was a bit noisy at times but loved it there. Room was so nice ! Nicely decorated. Clean and beds comfortable ! We had been there before with granddaughters many years ago and so there was many good memories ! Price was good and breakfast outstanding !! Staff was very friendly and helpful when we didn't know how to do the AC. I would defiantly go again. !! The only thing that I wished I could have run the AC (keeping it on ) for white noise cause husband snores. lol but that's not your fault !!
Awesome Value, Fair Price, Friendly Staff, Great included breakfast in the morning, they weren't too pushy at checkout time, the beds and pillows were soooo comfy I didn't want to leave. Rooms were nice and very clean, easily the nicest comfort inn I have ever stayed at. DirecTV cable boxes in each room. I enjoyed everything about this stay
The room was overall clean.
Clean room friendly personnel quiet good breakfast comfortable beds fan makes noise small pool small breakfast area
Waffle makers with whip cream, choc. chips and sprinkles made the breakfast a real treat for our 8 yr-old.
The continental breakfast The fact the room I booked wasn't available but they gave me a free upgrade :)
The sana was my favorite part. The room was clean. The young lady who checked us in was very sweet. When we arrived they informed us that all the fireplaces in the rooms don't work since they aren't up to code. That was a little upsetting. Then I took the elevator up to my room and noticed the inspection permit was expired. They need to work on spending money where they need it instead of making a massive pot of eggs and 500 strips of bacon every morning
Suite with sofabed great for families. Staff incredibly friendly. Fridge and microwave in room. Free wifi. Breakfast is a step above continental.
Large and comfortable rooms. Well maintained facilities. Good value for the money. True, reserved one year in advance for commencement at UCSC. BW SC is a bit dated and free parking spaces are narrow but not a big deal.
Needs more parking. Too many rooms and not enough b places to park. On the plus side...Buffet was great! Rooms were clean and cozy and it was relatively peaceful and quiet.
Close to beach, boardwalk, and downtown. Weird room layout, unfriendly staff, no pool - jacuzzi only, breakfast was chaos.no tub in double room to bathe children.
Clean and lots of room. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast
Like the breakfast areas, the seating area outside of the room. Couldn't connect my HDMI to tv. Locked down.
Walkable to Cannery District. Free breakfast All rooms face an open atrium, may be noisy at times.
Close to beach and pier Breakfast, beds & towels
Location, close to where family was staying at the Beach Inn. Tight parking, old dated rooms, limited tv channels, & no espn, small bathroom, shower, toilet.
So close to Santa Cruz. Also near food which is a plus. Quiet and relaxing and you get the HBO channel! reasonable price also. Provides a mini fridge and that's awesome. Towels are too small
there was a microwave and a fridge. i loved that the place was very clean and the amenities were wonderful. i will gladly stay at this inn again.
Free breakfast Baby cockroach and ants inside room... YUCK!
The room was nice and turn down service was prompt and tidy.
It was fairly clean, room was pretty There was no soap! Had to go downstairs and ask for it. The guy on the reception was not nice at all. In the morning, when I went for continental breakfast, mykey wouldn't open the room, when I finally got in, same guy showed up and demanded to tell my room number to make sure I'm staying there. Ummmm.... He only saw me six hours ago to check me in and give me soap 10 min later. Btw, neighborhood is skatchy, but I don't look like a homeless.
This place was clean, the beds were comfortable and the shower was hot! The hotel isn't much to look at from the outside but it was nicer than a motel 6 inside. The breakfast was lame but what do you expect for the price. There is an amazing bakery like two blocks away called Emma's good eats or something like that. The staff was a little irritated that we showed up late but other than that they were great.
On a family trip down to Southern California we were looking for a inexpensive motel to stay one night in. We found that in this motel. It looks a little rough on the outside but we were pleasantly surprised by how clean our room was. The room looked to be recently refurbished. The staff was friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was simple, but good. If you're looking for a cheap room for a night of just passing through town, then this is perfect. The only downside to this motel was that our neighbors were coming and going all night. Luckily my kids are sound sleepers. Our bathtub was missing a drain plug. I was hoping to give my daughter a bath. When I called the front desk the man didn't seem too worried. He said he would bring one, but never showed. Also the beds were pretty firm, but for the price it overall was good.
Good beds. Bath room sink did not drain, couldn't use.
We were here for a wedding, we had 5 rooms in this hotel alone. Two were really nice. Two of the rooms were large. The handicap room was awesome, plenty of space for grandpa to get around. Online prices were great. Pool was warm and clean. I would stay here again, but recommended booking online to avoid dealing with the staff. Overall was a decent place compared to others that I have stayed in, in Santa Cruz. Staff was unfriendly, the woman was better than the man however. the man kept interrupting the woman while she was helping us. When we needed an extra night on one room, they wouldn't match internet pricing for same room. When booked online, it let me add a rollaway bed to my room, but when I got there it was an additional $35 charge. One of our rooms had hair in the shower, and algae growing in it.
Friendly staff. Great food at the restaurant. Lively bar area. Bed was very comfortable. The room was clean and neat. Light and exhaust in bathroom were not working the first night of stay. It took two visits to front desk the next day to have it fixed.
The hotel itself is very pretty. Love that the windows in the rooms open all the way! Service, especially in the bar and rrestaurant were very slow and not attentive. We had one meal that was good with great service but the other two, especially breakfast were extremely slow. We weren't asked if we would like a drink even!
Pool and spa Gym Security Room Grounds all fantastic Then there was one employee that called himself the manager on duty. Now Ive been in management for 30 years and I would have to say that even at a fast ood establishment would have at the least suspended this individual with a written warning if they were worth keeping as an employee. His name is Kenny and he wad rude and condescending and wasn't willing to do anything to make it easier or more convenient for me. Not very Hilton like in my opinion.
The hot breakfast was decent. First room had a extremely noisy refrigerator and a screaming baby next door. Front desk said I could unplug the fridge, but I couldn't. I needed the fridge for medicine. I was then offered ear plugs. Really earplugs? I have never heard of such a thing. Bed was too soft elevator setup was ridiculous. One elevator will take you part way up and then you have to walk down two corridors to get to the second elevator to get to the higher floors.
The rooms are quiet, good-sized, and have light blocking curtains.
Nice and clean..pool was open in warm at the end of October. Breakfast didn't start until 7am, may have been because it was a Sat? Also, the coffee in the lobby wasn't out until 7. Needed it after flying in from NY. Very minor complaints.
Conveniently located to the highway. Friendly front desk staff. Parking was convenient with multiple options in front and back of hotel. Ease of use with the restaurant/lounge in the lobby. Housekeeping staff was noisy in the hallway speaking to each other. They started knocking on doors at 9am to clean the room when checkout is at noon. Also the AC unit in the room made a loud clunking noise when turning on and off.
The location. Quiet and tastefully decorated. Loved the blackout curtains We wished they had given us enough towels as we were three people. I was able to hunt down a housekeeper and she was very accomodating
Beds Kind of hard to get around the work being done-need maps!
For the price it was what we expected it to be. The pool and spa were surprisingly pretty nice, despite how humid the indoor pool area was. The staff were all very friendly. The room was falling apart, lots of damage. The shower was gross - not unclean exactly, but stained and possibly moldy?
Less than friendly staff. Old, non kept up rooms. Peeling paint etc.
We hated everything , so dirty and nasty... Left at 530 in the morning to head home. Everything !!! Horrible!!
nothing smelled over priced horrible parking dirty
The location was excellent and the sheets were clean. The lady at the office was very nice and I enjoyed talking with her. Not clean. The adjoining room was scary. We ended up moving the mattress to the main room. The toilet did not work. The carpet was old and ripped up. The walls needed painting.
The only two things I personally liked about this hotel was its closeness to the beach and boardwalk area and that it was fairly comfortable and quiet What made this an overall negative experience was the fact that I spent 160.00$ for a night in a hotel that was worth 70.00$ tops
The Travelodge was only a few blocks from the Beach and Boardwalk. W/o air conditioning nor a fan, I was surprised that I had to walk to the opposite end of the property to borrow a small fan to get a little relief. Bed was hard and the pillows too small/thin. Staff did not address noisy "Partiers" outside outside their rooms past midnight until two guests complained. The low price appears to have attracted rowdy young folks drinking & smoking Pot etc. as well as families and law-abiding, respectful folks
The price. The location. The staff were hard to find unless they needed to complain to their guests about something. Very unaccomidating to simple needs such as a working ice machine.
It was close to the beach/boardwalk. Rooms needed to upgraded. New coat of paint. New carpet. New drapes. New pillows (almost thin as paper). Office should be open 24 hours.
Room disgusting, heard another patron complain about bed bugs. Property was filthy. Breakfast was cereal and donut.
The price was good but you get what you pay for. The whole place needs to be rentivated.
I loved that there was a breakfast bar. And the beach is right out the door. The bed was comfy, but the pillows were not . And the rooms could be a bit more modern. But overall I would definitely stay there again. The staff was super nice, and always helpful with us. The pictures in the rooms were of flowers, they should be ocean pics. The pillows in our room in were lumpy.
This place was very close to the boardwalk and liked that it was so easy to find. Very clean and bill at the front desk was very friendly the breakfast was ok. This place was affordable considering we stayed during a week day I would definitely stay again. Limited parking in the garage but it was free parking.
I like my bed to be firm and the one I had perfect. The location is the winner especially if you have children and you want to be close to the beach Boardwalk! The room was just basic and a little small but did the job. I would stay again just for the location alone. Breakfast was minimal, room was a little to bright at night, noise from streets,
In choosing a hotel on a budget, it isn't hard to see value in 2 star hotels. You realize after staying in them multiple times that the only reviews are bad ones. That being said, this hotel went in a sense above and beyond to make our stay better. We got there after the office closed, expecting to be locked out, but they left a folder for us with our name, two keys, and instructions. We went up to our room and it was very clean and exactly as we wanted. It was cold so we turned on a good heater. We took a nice shower. And slept in a nice, clean bed. Everything was exactly as it should have been. Dont look at bad reviews too harshly. This is a wonderful little beachside hotel.
Great Location. Nice staff. Clean rooms. Bed was a bit worn
Across from the beach. Continental breakfast. The Inn was dirty and not kept up. The pillows where misshapen from age, I slep with a shirt over it so my face was not on it. It was across from the beach. I feel the cost of the Inn I paid for parking.Because that was all that was worth talking about. I will not stay there again.Lucky we did not stay long.
Basic amenities. Good price. Great location. Internet was terrible.
Location, parking and price. Love it all !!!!!
The Chaminade setting is fabulous. It is nestled in the mountains that overlook forest and the beautiful Monterey Bay. There are patios with tables that overlook these views. The breakfast buffet was a good value ($15-18) for the selections offered, especially considering the dining area overlooked both forest and ocean. There was an additional $25 per night resort fee required at check in, in addition to the price I paid through Kayak. I thought the resort fee was included in the listed Kayak price. Also, the rooms are basic, with no safe, microwave, or mini fridge.
Very pretty and peaceful setting. The staff is very professional and attentive. The location is perfect for my purpose, which was family business and staying out of the beach/resort fray closer to the water. No in-room coffee. You have to slog up to the separate building where the registration desk is located to get it. Form doesn't follow function with the new décor. Bedside lights shine straight into the face and aren't adjustable. The faux abacus headboard isn't comfortable to lean against. The look was probably a good idea on paper, but that's pretty much where it stops.
The rooms were out dated and you could hear everything from the rooms next to you to the rooms above you...honestly a super 8 motel probably has better sound proofing...The food was over priced and the pool was so dirty. I would never stay at this hotel again even if it was free.
The location and landscaping was really nice. The flowers around the property were really beautiful. The fitness center and nature walks are pleasant. The pool and cabanas were also pleasant for lounging. The reception area was tastefully arranged. The free coffee and tea in the gym lounge was also great. The interior decor of the room left much to be desired. The room felt dark and depressing, and the decor was really hideous and not welcoming. The signage around the property was also poor, so when I had a guest come to visit me, it took several minutes of providing directions before my guest was able to find my room. A basic sign saying "Rooms 700-1000 --->" would be incredibly helpful on such a large and sprawling property. The coffee provided in the Sunset restaurant was dreadful - the acrid, burnt taste could not be masked even with generous amounts of cream and sugar. Please fix this!
The staff was guest and helpful, the property and facilities were nice. They upgraded us upon arrival. It was quite, peaceful and beautiful even with a wedding and other events happening. The only thing that lacked was the ability to get ice in the building, it would have been nice to have a microwave, and there wasn't a guest book that told about all of the amenities and where to access them.
The decor was pleasant The place was advertised and appeared very high end. Boasting a recent multimillion dollar renovation. But the original single pane sliding glass door leaked and made that half of the room cold. Not that you could really tell because the heater hardly worked. Despite turning it up to 90, only like warm air came out. All the lights are on motion/timers. So they go off al the one. There's about a 1 inch gap at the bottom of the door to the main hall and no privacy on the porch area st all. The toilet was only surface cleaned and there's no microwave. and they tacked on a $39 "hotel fee" which I had no idea about. It couldn't have been bad for $100 a night room, with a token pastry and oatmeal type breakfast. But for over $200, and no breakfast.... oh and to order in... they wanted $10 for a yogurt parfait (now of course I didn't get one, so maybe they're amazing but for that price who would) and charge a 23% gratuity (really?!?!?) and a $10 delivery fee. So it would have been $23 for some yogurt and granola!!!
It was convenient Breakfast is mediocre and charged for parking.
This hotel was very clean & the breakfast very satisfactory. It took quite awile to check in because there was only one clerk & seversl of us arrived at once.
The rate cane dramatically vary in this town and at this hotel. When the rate is good we always stay here, it has the best amenities, nothing too fancy, but super nice, comfortable, tasty breakfast with lots of options. Feels more like home. Nothing. This place is always great.
Safe parking, great breakfast!
Very clean and quiet. Nice. Nothing.
Continental Breakfast had a lot of options and it was only a short drive from the hotel to sunset beach! Hot tub was closed for repair :( Only one elevator brought some wait time in the morning.
The receptionist was really nice and had our room cleaned ASAP because we got to Santa Cruz early. The room was really nice and big and so was the bathroom. Some worker knocked on the door at 8am to drop the bill under the door, maybe the cleaning lady? But we had to do not disturb note on the door and thought it was kind of obnoxious.
Good location Noisy.
We enjoy plush hotel emenities, with very comfy bed. Enclosed and safe hotel bedroom. Clean!! And quiet. And very nice breakfast Parking charge $7 a day?? Not sure why? Not mentioned in booking:-/
I liked how close it was to the wharf and the cliff There was no beach view.
the location and parking a little overpriced for what you received...however, it was the July 4th weekend
Kindness and smile of the lady at the front desk The TV remote complicated and not user friendly. Hard to turn on and off or find right channels.
The location is great! Just one block from the wharf and the beach. Parking available at the hotel so no need to pay for parking at the beach. The parking lot of the hotel is on a steep hill. The hotel was older, but the bathrooms had newer tile.
The staff were pleasant and welcoming, which I find most critical to feeling comfortable. The bathroom felt very much enclosed with no window or mirror, which detracted from the room somewhat.
Staff was very friendly. Room had a comfy bed with 4 pillows, small but very clean bathroom, nice TV and a fridge and microwave. The room was very clean and smelled great. There were a few stains on the chair and bed skirt. Location was a bit farther from the boardwalk than I though but that was my lack of knowledge about Santa Cruz. Still definitely in walking distance just up a hill and around a corner a bit.
It is hard to park your car. But better than no place to park.
Quick walk to pier and boardwalk! Quiet hotel, super friendly front desk. We would stay again.
It is barely a hop, skip, and jump from the wharf and beach. The staff was friendly and helpful. Next to an awesome pizza place. Clean, affordable and furniture was modern and new. Saved money by using the in room mini fridge and microwave for food. Fancy new door locks made the rooms feel very safe. The water color art in the room was terrible, so not my style No hairdryer in the room, though I am sure I could have gotten one if I had asked. But I brought my own. No in-room coffee, so I could only get my java fix at the continental breakfast.
Location location location!! The pillows were flat and uncomfy.
The location was great! Just a short walk to the beach and the wharf.
Over looked the beach and ocean. On our Room Service to the pool. The food was cold. That's the only thing I didn't like.
great view, awesome pool and restaurant, perfect location
We have not been to Santa Cruz in years, and have never stayed at The Dream Inn. We will definitely be back. What a beautiful venue and location. Our room was lovely, and the front desk service polite, service oriented and professional.
Loved the location. The rooms were small but nice and clean. The restaurant is really nice with great views. The pools and hot-tub are filthy and 90% kids under 5. The hotel carpets common bathrooms and stuff are just Dirty. Staff RARELY pick up the phone when you need something. They automatically charge you a $25/night Parking fee whether you park there or not.
The customer service is superior, the location is ideal. The room looked nice just a couple minor areas things needed to be addressed. TV did not work and the cleaning crew needed to revisit our room. They addressed my concerns immediately!!
The staff was really helpful and kind. The view is gorgeous and it's close to everything. The room was clean and upgraded. There was still some renovations going on an it was very confusing when trying to find our way around the facility.
You can't beat the location, but the price is steep. Lots of families and kids around the pool. I was staying with a friend and we could hear a lot of noise from the rooms on either side of us, which was difficult to sleep through. It wasn't late night noise. It was early morning families rising before 6am on Sunday morning.
Great hotel for the entire family! Walking distance to the wharf and boardwalk. The views of the ocean from each hotel room are fantastic. We will do it again!
All rooms oceanfront with balconies. Clean, vibrant and great location. Nice restaurant on property, Aquarius. Fire pits, pool, spa. Rooms do not black out No bell hop
beachfront room. that's it. $300 and didn't even get a bottle of water in the room. they told me they "don't do that anymore" poor condition of bathroom overall run down feeling
I like the location and the service. This hotel at $600/night is wildly overpriced. It should be $250-300 at most. I didn't even get free parking (had to pay $25/day) even though I was completely ripped off. Unfortunately I had no other viable options.
Nothing The clerks attitude was crappy the room looked terrible and ran down
Location Not very clean
it worked for a 1 day trip and work related stay. Wouldn't stay with there with family. Didn't seem family friendly. There wasn't anything around the area to entertain children. And after dark it really didn't scene safe in the area.
Room was clean,,,big plus to the renovations...clean pool...security is good,,,half mile walk from Boardwalk, walked back at 2230 had no problems with locals, actually no one was out. Great location to drive to other places . We would stay again 2-3 days no problem, continental breakfast is minimal, but there is a coffee shop next door .Hey if you really want a good meal there are plenty of good eat's close by.
This was the only place that answered their phone to book a room in the middle of the night. We checked 5-8 other hotels to see if we can get a room but no luck. They customer service was good and near The Catalyst club so we liked that. This place was ok the only thing I really didn't like was that the cleanliness wasn't a priority and that was with the room being cleaned. If you are only going to stay a night or two it's a good place.
Helpful, flexible staff A little dirty, some rooms were a little ragged, you get what you pay for
It was a decent booking for the price minus the tweakers outside my window At 3 am and again at 5 am. All the people smoking in the parking lot was also a downfall of the hotel. And they make you put down a deposit, stayed in many places and never have I ever done that. Will I stay here again, probably not, spend a little more more bet for something safer.
Great deal for the price. It wasn't fancy but it was very clean. It was c It was a short drive to everything but you had to drive.
Like how the bed was big. Bathroom was very nice looking. Like how it was very secure. It was small. My view was a Cament wall...but other then that. It was alright experience
Nothing. Front desk people treat you like the crack addicts that would frequent this joint. The service was bad. Parking lot is full of crackheads.
Bed was comfortable price Priced high for what it is.
Nothing Everything it was terrible didnt leave only because we had no where else to go
Location--close to beach Room needs renovating. There are two big holes in the tile around the lavatory.
CLOSE TO WHARF AND BOARDWALK. BATHROOM DRAINS WERE PLUGGED. THE ROOM IS OUT DATED FOR THE PRICE. MOLD IN THE BATHROOM AND THE WALLS LOOK DIRTY. THEY CHARGED A PARKING FEE OF $10. DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY YOU WOULD HAVE TO PAY A PARKING FEE WHEN YOUR A PAYING GUEST OF THE HOTEL.
Location location location Hard beds
I loved the closeness to the beach boardwalk and the down town area is so close Seemed like it was a more of a permanent residence for some guests we had to switch rooms because they were being really loud and obnoxious and there was supposed to be no smoking and they all were smoking outside our room. Seemed to be in more of a "upcoming" neighborhood. There was someone with a yappy dog that wouldn't shut up all night. You had to pay for parking per night and then there was never any parking when you got there! And best of yet the owners didn't seem to even care! i would have paid more for something better not a good deal at all.
TV and internet didn't work.
Walking distance to the beach Unexpected fee parking , bathroom to small and late brake fast
Very good location nothing in special
Clean rooms with a flat screen T.V. HBO and WIFI. The walls were paper thin
Great location, easy to walk everywhere in Santa Cruz: the boardwalk, beach, cliff drive, downtown. The rest of the crowd staying there was a bit rowdy (it was Halloween weekend). At least we had a very quiet room tucked away in the back.
Somewhat friendly , we went to a concert at the catalyst and it was perfect in walking distance and to the boardwalk. Perfect if you staying for a night. The floors were filthy, my socks were black. The parking fees and other fees added on at time of check-in that weren't mentioned at the time of booking, I was not pleased about.
Location. Simple aesthetic. Waffles. Dog friendly (even though we don't have a dog).
Located close to the pier and close to downtown. Breakfast after 8 am.
Nothing We didn't stay. It was so bad we left and got another hotel. It smelled bad and the place was falling apart. Is there any way to get a refund?
Walking distance to the Boardwalk. Staff seemed to be nice and welcoming. Overall felt like there was a lack of security. Bathrooms were run down and needed work. Rooms were noisey and could easily hear people outside the room.
The staff are extremely generous and accommodating. They were NY favorite part. Also the whirlpool tubs are awesome! The hot tub was a little dirty otherwise everything would have five stars. That's a fixable and also not a key point at a hotel for me. The location is not in the best neighborhood but as soon as you are on the hotels grounds you would not be able to tell they keep it very safe. Also that's not really within the hotels power. The hotel itself was updated for the price range and clean. The staff is non fussy and relaxed and attentive.
It was very cheap and close to the boardwalk. It smelled terrible and the location was awful as it was right next to a house and hotel unit that looked like it was for drug addicts.
It sucked Everything
cost It could of been cleaner
Lack of security.
I liked that there was a little fridge and microwave In the room I didn't like how small the bedroom was. Rooms at motel 6 have even been bigger. The lights in the bathroom didn't work, and someone came to replace them, they'd work for a bit, then broken again. The switches on the wall didn't even work, you'd have to press them like 3 or 4 times with hard pressure to get it to work. When we first got to the room, there wasn't even a remote, we had to call the front desk to bring one up. The workers were nice for the most part, but will never stay there again, especially not for $200 a night.
The staff was very helpful and nice! The room had the amenities we needed and was comfortable. The pool and especially hot tub were not very clean.. the hotel has wear and tear but worth it for the price
Nice rooms, very friendly and accommodating staff, close to boardwalk, great price. Easy to find and effortless checkout. The area around the hotel was not the best. We walked back from the boardwalk at night and had to be a little cautious. If you are driving then you will have no problems.
The staff was nice. The room was clean. It wasn't noisey. I was happy with my experience
Nice pool and hot tub Hallways and stairs dirty
Very pleasant, privacy, quite, nice staff
THe hotel was over-priced. There is no mention on the web page that the hotel is unattended both during the day and in the evening. I would never have stayed in the hotel if I was aware that a hotel charging excessive rates had no reception.
Friendly staff, home baked cookies, clean room with fireplace, DVD player, Eco-green, close to downtown and beach. They called ahead with instructions in case of late check-in after 8pm. Attendant picked up call after hours and offered assistance, overall great service. "Patio", which is a little table and chairs in the walkway in front of each room, and a bigger lounge area in the courtyard with fire pit was nice. Windows didn't lock. That was uncomfortable given proximity to downtown and SCs many shady characters roaming it, but the building itself is locked with keyed entry. Some wear and tear to the room, like a few large scuffs on the walls and cleaning wear marks on bath furnishings.. Cute and clean place but inside room and outside building just wasn't as polished as it appears in booking pictures. Easy fixes the hotel should invest in to polish it up for their price range. Limited parking, but parking spots become available at dinner time.
After spending a few days in a tradional style hotel, it was so nice to stay at a B&B. The boutique atmosphere makes you feel right at home. As soon as we arrived there was a social hour where couples were enjoying wine and cheese and a glass of wine on one of the shaded decks. We checked in and were immediately offered homemade cookies. The staff was very friendly, the room we stayed in had character and was exceptionally clean. My daughter was exhausted from all the traveling and whenever she walked into the bathroom and saw a rubber duck on the edge of the tub, she seemed at peace. I ran her a bath and she played with the duck and went to bed. Our only regret was that we only stayed one night. The skylight over the bed lit up the room too early in the morning. They really need to find a way to block out the light. Also, we needed to use the pullout couch, and it was very uncomfortable. Saying that, we would most likely find a different room within the B&B, as we really enjoyed or stay. They did an exceptional job creating a cozy ambiance. It reinforced that we should always book B&B's when traveling.
Great stay! Very quaint and relaxing. Breakfast was wonderful and cookies were awesome. Staff was helpful and accomodating. Would stay again.
Everything was amazing definitely going back
Really close to beach. 2 min. Walk We have a 19month old son so we wanted a place to stay that was close enough to walk back to the Hotel if needed Kinda loud at night time with other kids and family's coming back from the beach. It's totally understandable. Kids are jacked up from a great time on the boardwalk! Didn't bother me a bit.
Rooms were just remodeled and are very modern now.
Great location if you are visiting the Boardwalk. Room was clean, bright and comfortable. Organic soaps & shampoos. Wood floors, not questionable carpet. Decent continental breakfast. We will return! We didn't mind, but noise carries. You can hear the boardwalk rides while they are operating and probably due to the non-carpeted floors you can hear more sounds outside the room than usual.
Loved the hotel!! Great customer service and the room was very clean! Would definitely stay there again!
The rooms were modern and fun looking. Staff was very nice. Very close to the beach! We had to switch rooms after we unpacked due to the electricity not working. It was kind of a pain. I wish there was more of a breakfast, muffins and fruit was not enough for the kids.
Very clean and they really payed attention to detail. The view was so pleasant. Loved the court yards just steps from the room. Beds were comfortable. Staff friendly and knowledgeable. Accommodated parking after check in so could run to the wharf before leaving. Cookies were very yummy. If you are a super healthy eater-breakfast would fit right in with your lifestyle. Found out they had cottages on the property and would consider for our next vacation. Room was right by traffic area and iron gate that you heard slam shut every time someone goes in/out-had early wake up time due to people leaving early and using gate-combine that with someone had very late check in time above us and you could hear their suitcase rollers and every step they took-didn't get to sleep as we had hoped. Would not stay in the room again-would pass on and try for another room location at their site.. Even after arriving early check in and waited for room requested not to be in this type of room-still was given high tragic area-we were told only 2 rooms to choose from-since the room we were at was the closet to the area-no other room could be closer. Would have like to have the other room away from the gate as requested.
