Pros:
I search the rental car at LAX airport, search results came cheap , I booked with comments that kayak has agreement with Hertz rental car. I paid on line with prepayment. When appear at LAX Hertz it appears that your prepaid option was 40 miles away from the Airport. I ended paying $140 more apart from what I prepaid $240 . So not a good experience, I will advise never opt for Prepaid option , you loose flexibility with no option and end up paying more. Prepaid option has the penalty associated, for sake of $20 customers end up paying moreCons:

I will never use Kayak again and I promise to let all yelp users know. I made reservations for a car rental at LAX 6 weeks before my trip to LA. Once I got to LA, I found out that Kayak had made the reservation at an Enterprise location 50 miles away from the airport. Now I don't know street names in LA so I had no idea this was the case until I tried to pick up my car at the Enterprise LAX location. It was January 26th and every single car rental facility was completely booked. I could not find a car anywhere. Kayak did not have a phone number published so I was unable to talk with anyone there for assistance. I eventually found a car at Allied car rental over a mile away and ended up paying double the price I had originally had reservations for. And got totally inferior car. Never using Kayak again and making sure to spread the word.9.6 Wonderful

I called customer service on my way to return to set up a ride home and was treated to the absolute WORST customer service team in my life,in any business. "Tony",as he insisted on being called (as he refused to give his full name or number) has "I'm telling you like it is" as his mantra. Horrible.2.0 Poor

Cons:
We booked a car online for you pick up at 9am only to find out the car would not be available until 1pm. We were moved to a different dealership but still had to pick up the car 2 hours late. We were then told we could not extend our rental as we were going to be late dropping off the car on the same day due to picking it up 2 hours late. We were driving from LA to SAN Francisco and due to the delay we missed out seeing tourist spots along the drive. Overall very disappointed with this service.2.0 Poor

They charge you too much for gas, almost more than I paid for the car rental, i used only quarter of tank, and they charged me $70. There is no specific way to measure the gas used, whatever the person who check the car decide what to pay, so I recommend to put gas before the drop off4.0 Mediocre

i thought i was booking a car @ LAX as that it what it put in location. But, the rental location was in studio city, 45-60 mins away. not knowing the area, i assumed it was at LAX. i had to rent a car from another company @ LAX - my Budget rental was non-refundable so i was scammed out of $300 and was a huge nightmare finding another car. i won't book again on KayakPriceless
