9.0 Excellent
Pros: We upgraded to a deluxe room - staff were very helpful in arranging it! We then had a lovely big dual aspect room with a fantastic bathroom! Bed was comfy and room was quiet despite hotel being busy. We were attending an event at Town Hall opposite so was super convenient!
Cons: Some road noise but that’s inevitable in the middle of a town and didn’t spoil our stay. Breakfast wasn’t included so we didn’t get to experience that!

Cons: Couldn’t open window
4.0 Okay
Pros: Breakfast and the location
Cons: The room was tired - bed far too small and uncomfortable the bathroom was ridiculously smalll - the heat was oppressive, we could not get the room to a sensible temperature even with the window open and radiator turned off - we understand it a old building but my goodness the room was so disappointing

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Glorious estate with enchanting walks through trees, stream and waterfalls, not to mention a stretch of the river Tamar.Truly a country house and home experience. Log fires, several delightful sitting or reading areas with splendid views down to the river. Fine ornaments and art, including a dog that curls up in front of the hearth but, unbelievably, is a wooden carving. Splendid tranquil bedrooms assured a restful stay.
Cons: It is only to nit pick to find anything not too like. There was a cobweb in the dining room, that could be said to add context to this fine house. The verdict on the vegetarian risotto from my companions was one of disappointment.

The hosts were welcoming and excellent company with a wealth of knowledge about the area. Fantastic value for money.

Cons: The hotel is under going refurbishment, which will look great but in the in the mean time there are dusty areas with trades entering the kitchen area. The menu was not great for someone with a dairy free diet. The grilled chicken was microwaved. Someone in the restaurant found a staple in their food! My door handle was lose and struggle to open. Plus, the hotels Superior and Luxury ranges which include sensational four-poster suites offer extra space and features for special occasions or indulgent treats. 8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable one night stay in a perfectly located hotel for both the Theatre Rotal and restaurants. The cost was excellent value for money which included a varied and delicious breakfast. Unfortunately at the time of our stay the public lift was out of order but we were able to use the service lift. Would most definitely return.
Cons: An offer to take the luggage to to your room would be preferred but for the price it was understandable.
4.6 Okay
Pros: The room size was big and had plenty of space. Bathroom was the nicest part.
Cons: The staff weren’t very welcoming and understand of our problem. And when we got to our new room there was dirt on the floor and also try blood stains on the pillow and bed sheet. This is very poor and if I’m honest disgusting.
6.0 Good
Pros: Amazing historic imposing hotel in fantastic position . Great shower and big telly ,some free parking too
Cons: Uncooperative bad mood receptionist who would not get up from her computer ,so hard to communicate . Terrible high wobbly super soft bed with industrial bed wetters plastic sheeting . All slid off in night .
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The beds were comfy, the rooms were kept clean and tidy. The decor suits the property and was appreciated by my grandfather for its classic elegance especially in the dining room. Breakfast was great value especially included in the room rate! Staff are a credit to the hotel, friendly, helpful and nothing is too much trouble. Also they always greeted us in the morning or passing on the stairs. The bar staff were particularly amazing especially as there was a wedding during our stay and they handled the busy times so well. The hotel was amazing value for money and a short walk to town. We travelled to Plymouth by coach and everything was a short walk or taxi ride away. Food in the hotel was great - we had the breakfast and the bar menu and couldn’t fault it!! The whitebait and fries was a particular favourite.
Cons: There is nothing I would change, I know people say some of the hotel is ‘tired’ but I feel some of this adds to the character. Our rooms seemed to have had a freshen up with modern wallpaper and was exceptionally clean. Only disappointment was they’d run out of Kippers for breakfast! :) Not too much of a bother as the food is amazing!
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: The building is very beautiful .room extremely big and clean.lovely friendly staff.
Cons: Old single glazed windows very draughty and cold and very noisy from the main road outside.floorboards from rooms above very creaky heard every step the other guests took.overall very little sleep.
6.0 Good
Pros: Fantastic location with a killer hot chocolate packet in the room!!
Cons: Unfortunately due to the high winds and old windows, the windows rattled all night and kept me awake. Was not ideal when I’d had a 3 hour drive down one day and then the 3 hour return the day after! But it’s an old hotel so I suppose it can’t be helped.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Really nice and comfortable hotel made you feel relaxed ,
Cons: Not much parking space
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Room very large and comfortable. The hotel was very clean and well decorated . Nice to be served breakfast rather than having to serve your self.
Cons: The car park is very small and roadside parking very expensive.

Cons: The noise from the traffic on the roads was a little off putting at night the room could have done with some double glazing.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We liked everything. Room was huge and had everything we could possibly need, plenty of storage, comfortable leather settee, table and chairs for poring over the interesting and plentiful local maps and brochures, plus an outside terrace. Bed was hugely comfortable. Bathroom was well appointed with a great shower. Breakfast and dinner were outstanding, we didn't eat at local restaurants as the dinner at the Guest House was excellent. The hosts were welcoming and excellent company with a wealth of knowledge about the area. Fantastic value for money.
Cons: Smiley Face :) As I can't change the one by the question. I don't believe it could be improved as it was so very good in every way.

Pros: The most attractive feature of this hotel was the peaceful location and splendid view of the valley, with all rooms having a balcony. The best experience was the service and staff who were outstandingly friendly and considerate.
Cons: The menu selection which had a poor choice for vegetarians and pescetarians. The desserts were also disappointing, all much of a muchness and too slushy. There were no tarts etc. or fresh fruit on offer.
