Everything met my expectations.
Great location, great food, great staff, very comfortable. No coffee in the rooms!
Clean, friendly staff Morning coffee ( that was free!) was horrible
was in town on business. Staff was polite and helpful even though I checked in around midnight. Room and decor were average at best. Not enough easily usable outlets next to nightstands. Central air system was noisy. a Pubic hair left on the sink and a couple in the shower was gross. Morning complimentary coffee was actually decent which was appreciated since I had to be up at 5. All in all, fine for me as a solo business traveler billing the client for accommodation. However if I was looking for a romantic getaway with my lady, or on vacation with the kids, i'd look for somewhere with a more unique and fun vibe and higher standards.
The doormen/bell captains, and all the staff were incredibly gracious and helpful. The room was good-sized and well appointed. The location is great with many restaurants in walking distance. The Metro is about 3 blocks away. The view from our room was not great, but we didn't care.
The decor was excellent. I recommend using the subway, it's a short walk away. If it had a pool it would have been perfect, but otherwise it was fantastic. Service at the in-hotel restaurant was slow and food was a little overpriced compared to the excellent food you could get around town.
The staff was very welcoming and helpful. At times wait staff was sparse
Staff very friendly and accommodating. good location, nice area for walking, close to Rock Creek Trail
Hotel facilities were very nice, location is perfect for going to GW. The staff were very helpful, I had a problem with the reservation, as even though I booked the reservation using getroom.com, it was not found in the hotel's records. I spent an hour on the phone with getaroom and the hotel staff to get it resolved. They recommended that I use Hotels Tonight instead. One comment, the cleaning staff woke us up at 8AM to ask us what time we wanted the room cleaned. I thought that was a little weird... would generally prefer they just come when we're not there.
Rooms, staff and food
Free continental breakfast, free snacks and drinks in the evening, spacious rooms, friendly staff. We were stuck there in a blizzard and still managed to have a great time! Having a suite allowed us a lot of freedom since we were traveling with a toddler that has an early bedtime. Nothing.
the staff always had been very friendly and helpful, In the lobby there is the pond with the koicarps, which is very beautiful, the rooms are comfortable and the service is efficient, courteous and friendly
We appreciated the locaction, nice neighborhood and its easy access to the metro and restaurants. We also enjoyed the convenience of having breakfast basically outside our door, and a good breakfast at that. Enjoyed our stay, Everyone was cordial, especially Mark, The only concern was the air quality in the rooms. When we would return from an outing the rooms seemed to have a dry stall odor to them.
spacious, clean and very comfortable room; nice and pleasant hotel setting few and slow elevators; families with kids all over
The front staff was wonderful! The pillows were too soft. Too far from Metro.
Great hotel in a great location. Staff, breakfast, evening cocktails and rooms were great. Overall quality of hotel was excellent.
Free Food Too close to that damnable institution.Hated walking through GWU on every trip to the mall.Get rid of those those idiot kids hanging around. From what I saw an education looks far fetched for those imbecils, maybe its all about a good brain washing anyway.
Nice hotel, located in a convenient location. Huge rooms. Good breakfast. Expensive internet connection.
Very clean room and cordial staff.
Staff was VERY helpful, cheerful, and knowledgeable. The only problem was a dance competition that was held nearby. When the competitors arrived at 2:00am it was a bit noisy.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. One of them remembered me from just one short phone conversation and encouraged me to do well on my interview. They are very hospitable and professional. The room was much bigger than I expected and very comfortable. The complimentary wi-fi worked well and the bed was very comfy too. The only problem I had is with the bathroom sink. When I first got there it wouldn't run any hot water, not even lukewarm. No matter which way I turned the knob it was still very cold. I asked for maintenance and someone came up right away. The problem was that the shower hadn't been run in a long time. Fortunately the shower had no problems getting warm. But even after taking a nice hot shower the sink water still didn't get much better than lukewarm. Other than that, everything was great!
The facilities, furniture, and furnishings are a bit older, but you get room to spread out in, the location is excellent, and the price is relatively inexpensive. It was great for a group visiting DC to explore all the wonderful sights to see. We had absolutely no complaints!
To begin, the location is second to none. 2 minutes away from the metro. And all the main DC sites are within minutes using the metro. Staff was also great, every morning there was lemon water and apples available for guests to start their day. Ultimately, the place was amazing, no complaints from my side, very clean, very tidy, and comfortable.
I really like the staff there and the fruits, candy and maps prepared for us. It's 15 minites walk to the white house. Location is beatiful and convinient. It was a little bit noisy at night because someone next door or above was talking. The noise cancelling was not that good.
Staff was amazing and attentive, location great Could use some updating
We all enjoyed staying at the hotel. The location was convenient and the reception area personnel were very accomodating. We all felt that the breakfast was too expensive, for what was offered. Also, the service was awful.
The best part of this hotel is the location. With children at GWU, it's the perfect place to stay to be close to campus, restaurants, and other Washington adventures. The beds and pillows were comfy. I didn't care for the smell of smoke coming in to the bathroom through the fan that ran constantly or tj e broken dial on the heat lamp in the bathroom so that it did not turn off automatically, I asked the gentleman at the front desk about dirty drips on the bathroom floor, the big smear on the bathroom wallpaperor. He said the housekeeping manager was there at the time and he would send her up. No one showed up before I checked out the following day. The 6" x 9" steam/burn on the carpet in the bedroom was also a big eyesore. I also didn't like being evacuated by a false fire alarm at 7 AM.
The rooms were a very good size, had separate living and sleeping space, and a kitchenette. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The best part was it's proximity to the Foggy Bottom metro stop, which put all of DC within reach. Otherwise it's only about a 20 minute walk to reach the monuments at the end of the mall. Parking costs extra, and street parking Is near impossible
Location, staff, adjustable fan in the room (quiet AC).
Great location, friendly staff, and large rooms with kitchen inside.
Location & Staff Run down A/C didn't work Parking was $40.00 + $7.50 (Tax)
Extremely impressed by staff, facilities, comfort, cleanliness and overall level of quality.
Overall hotel was in great condition and price was right. Wireless charge of like $15 is ridiculous in this day and age.
Decent room, nice lobby, comfortable bed slow, to non-existent service in the lobby lounge, room wasnt ready until after 4PM. Rooms are smaller in size, and bathroom is not of the caliber of a 5 star hotel
Near perfect stay Everything very pricey, but not out of line with the area.
From the staff to the amenities, enjoyed the room, restaurant and proximity in DC. WiFi in room should be free and food pricey.
Overall, a nice hotel and had a good stay. I especially enjoyed the gym, which was the best hotel gym I've ever tried - had a lifting platform, power racks, and dumbbells going up to 120 lbs. My only complaint would be the daily parking fee, nearly $50 a day. Nearby garages seemed to be charging $20-$25 a day.
Good location Several smokers on our floor.
Great location. Very clean room and bathroom. Great ambiance in the area. The air conditioner in the room would keep automatically changing to the heater setting.
Very nice hotel. Lobby was well designed and appealing. Room was spacious and welcoming No major dislikes.
Facility was quiet, clean and showed a high level of attention to detail. Concierge was very helpful for dinner recommendations and provided a perfect location that was not readily found via standard web based search. Gym staff was inattentive and actually were playing 2 types of music very loudly at the same time!
Very nice, large, clean rooms. Under construction. Gets noisy well before 8am says it's in Georgetown but really it's east of it. Not a lot walking distance
the location the room facilities very expensive on weekdays.
good space in the suite; complimentary shoeshine no lotion in bathroom, and no newspapers delivered to room
Rooms were clean and comfortable Prices in the coffee shop downstairs were too high
Everything starting from staff, facility and location to restaurants as well as transportation.
convenient location, nice neighbourhood, clean and spacious rooms. rather sloppy service at the M Street Bar & Grill
The staff was freindly, my family enjoyed the restaurants around, felt safe, happy and it was the correct choice for me.
fully equipped kitchen
Very clean, comfortable, and modern. It is currently under construction in the hotel lobby, but it was never bothersome to us. We could not hear it even from the elevator! Great place to stay
The room, location and jazz brunch. heating throughout the room-bedroom gets extremely hot and heat does not transfer to the living room area. No thermastat exists in the living area for control of heat.
Good location, friendly staff, clean rooms ... To sum up a very good hotel.
Did not use facilities,,GREAT staff,, upgraded room...BEAUTIFUL None
The cleanliness and comfortable atmosphere. Relatively small lobby when compared to other Westin's.
Very close to Georgetown. Also the bed was very comfortable!
The staff of the hotel is excellent.
location, however many other hotels in the area. Very comfortable bed. Large Bathroom. Small room. But overpriced.
As of Aug 31, the lobby was undergoing renovations. I didn't know that prior to my arrival. Not a big deal, my room was perfect. Just a heads up for future goers. Valet parking was $45/day, but you can come and go as you please. They do have self parking that's a bit cheaper. Pick your poison.
Our room was nicely appointed and well designed. The staff, although limited in numbers, were very nice and accomodating. We were happy to have a quiet room, as requested, with a super comfortable bed with beautiful linens. I wish every hotel experience was this great! I have to mention the perfect location for sightseeing, walking and shopping.
Central location to shops and restuarants. No real negatives.
Signed up for a 3 person hotel room - was changed an extra $20 for a double bed attached to a dolly so that we all had a place to sleep....I guess the room can fit three but not the beds...beware. The concierge asked "will all three of you be sleeping in the king size bed?" I said "No, of course not. I signed up for a 3 person room..." anyway lost $20....
wonderful hotel, nice room with a beautiful bathroom. walking distance to lincoln memorial etc pary at the square below was kinda noisy
Friendliness of the staff. The room was very nice for the price. Overall we were very pleased with our overall experience at the Westin and would definitely stay there again or recommend it to other travelers. The breakfast buffet should have included stock in the hotel for the price charged. The price was way too high. We had dinner in the hotel also and the price was quite reasonable and the food very good; which is part of the reason we were so shocked when our breakfast buffets cost nearly as much as our dinner the night before.
Responsiveness of the staff Attempt to park in such a small area
I loved the location Renovations starting at 8am (ie- removing tile from the room above us). We did not have working water for over 12 hours!!! Our final bill had a $500 charge for our last night's stay.
People were nice, exellent location, free internet, complementary water / news paper/ gym/coffee/ very cozy coffee machine broke
The room was bright, clean and nicely decorated. The bed was very comfortable and the kitchenette was fantastic! Stocked with the best shortbread cookies! The double doors were unnecessary. Bathroom was a bit small.
Friendliness of the staff
Great location, walk to anywhere. Spacious room with separate kitchenette. Elegant and stylish. My wife enjoyed the makeup table in the room. Helpful staff. Noisy HVAC. Slow draining shower / tub with slippery bottom. Not enough outlets to power all our devices at once.
Hotel was conveniently located and quiet generally. Since I only stayed for one night I did have time to form any strong opinions on the place. I thought the price was high but perhaps not given the address on Penn. Ave. The staff failed to inform me when room was available having arrived early in the morning.
coosiness the elevator is really outdated
Location, location, location. And nice employees. Garage charge for the rental car was bit pricey.
I love "historic hotels" and this is a really nice one, with the upgrades that matter--excellent, comfortable beds, free internet, good location, helpful staff. You have to climb up stairs from the tiny lobby to the main floor. Is there wheel-chair access? I couldn't tell.
Classic feel. Excellent bathroom with up-to-date but classic style fixtures. A/C was noisy in my room. I used earplugs to sleep and it was fine after that.
woman checking me in on 11/22 was great. very comfortable bed. great location.nice tv, internet hookup great, concierge very nice and helpful. unfortunately, i was not given the wake up call at 5 15 am like i requested.also, it was tricky to adjust the thermostat to desirable temperature.
Staff far more "accessible", more communicative. Seemed also to be more folk around to help ... bellmen, etc. I can never remember how to run the thermostats ... I wish each room had an instruction card. Had to chuckle >>> When checking out, I noted to staff that the toilet might be clogged ... they gve me a comment card and suggested I mail the report of my jammed toilet in! I guess my comment lost something in its presentation, all wokred out oki.
The staff were extreamly helpful and went out of their way to make sure our stay was a very good expericance.
The staff are great and go out of their way to make your stay perfect. Meticulously clean.
Impeccable service and great location.
The staff was very friendly and knew our names quickly.
- Facilities were great - Hotel rooms comfortable and spacious - Very nice Gym facilities - Front desk staff very welcoming and corporative - Room wasn't ready on time - Staff in lobby area; not so friendly - Corridors were very warm
very friendly staff and clean room with good linen.location is convenient room too small
We arrived in town earlier than expected and we were allowed to check in very early with no trouble.
The room was tiny and a dump. It was dusty, I was sick all night. The hotel is in need of a major renovation.
We had an excelent stay at Marriot.... We enjoyed But...... 5 minutes after we leave the room, my wife left an expensive blouse in the room... I personally hanged out the blouse in the closet...so I went back to pick it up.... sadly I couldn't find it..... the staff came to the room..... But nothing of blouse was there.... that evening in our family meeting my wife didnt know what to wear.... So sad.... No time to shopping that day. So, Next time you leave you room in this Hotel.... you know what to do before close the door ....
Nice early check in. Clean and comfy beds. Expensive. Lack of free wifi is annoying
good friendly service
To get to the included internet was very confusing without asking. Al the other options had an extra cost.
A satisfying choice-well appointed, good sized rooms. Comfy bed. Good location to Foggy Bottom and Georgetown
staff was very friendly room was very musty smelling hotel seemed a little worn and rundown
Walking distance to Mall and Georgetown Nothing
The location at 21st and M is great. The staff was friendly and helpful. The cookies at check in were delicious! The property seemed to be under some type of renovation. So, from the outside, parts of the hitem seemed to be out of commission. The room was fine. But the hallway was almost exclusively grey and dated.
Excellent hotel in the business district located next to two metro stops (red and orange/blue lines). Two blocks from the White House. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Parking wasn't overly convenient. The room we had was on the second floor and outside noise could be a problem.
Staff and free snacks were great. Nothing
Close to public transport and shops. Windows don't open. Small niggle.
We were in DC to visit our son at GWH. Clean and efficient. Perfect location to the occasion. The bed could have been positioned 90° to the 8' room width.
The location 24 hr coffee station clean rooms Small room configured & supplied for the single business traveler. One bath towel 4 the family.
Comfortable, clean, good value for money, free wireless internet Restaurant opens a little late, 8am, at weekends for breakfast.
The location for downtown dc couldn't be better, and staff was excellent and very helpful Room was small but for the price value of everything else it didn't matter
food and service was good My husband and i were given an end corner room 302 that was way to small and gave a confined effect. We spent as much time out of the room as possible. Parking was also difficult due to lack of easy access to our vehicle asit was in an underground garrage.
The staff was warm and welcoming from the moment I stepped through the door with my 12 year old. I detest the hold hotels put on your credit card and don't release for days and was told I could pay the $50 incidental in cash (which I received back at checkout before the housekeeper had even cleaned the room). The room was indeed small with only 1 bed which would have been a problem if I hadn't been traveling with family. However, it was clean, along with the bathroom. I did whack my elbow against the wall as I was showering as the stall was a bit cramped. We received great instructions on how to make our way to the White House and monuments - - all within walking distance. We finished our running around a bit early so we took advantage of the 2nd floor lounge for about a half hour before heading back to Union Station. There was an industrial coffee/espresso/cappuccino maker, tea bags, newspapers, a big screen tv set to CNN, a charging station, computers etc. The rooms are too small for friends to convene comfortably so the lounge is a nice spot. Convenience: A block away from the Circulator, a block away from the Farragut North and Farragut West station (it is actually on top of the Farragut West station, however, the entrance is closed so it's necessary to walk to the other side a block down). The complimentary bottled water saved us some money and we surely took advantage. The shower was uncomfortably small for a tall lanky person like me. Whacking my elbow against the wall isn't something I expect to happen in a hotel (usually hotel bathrooms are more comfy than my micro bathroom at home in NYC). Also, the room did not have a mini fridge which would have been nice for our leftovers. The hotel is downtown so the area at night is sparse (still feels safe though). You'll need to take a little walk to find some good breakfast if you set out early on a weekend because the nearby places are either never open on the weekends or only open closer to 9 am.
Well maintained older hotel convenient to restaurants and tourist attractions. Nice linens and towels. Great cocktail lounge. Friendly and welcoming service. Street noise; will bring earplugs next time.
it's a great place to stay. two blooks and you can say hello to the president! I got a very big, clean room with wifi and a hd-tv. the neigherhood was very quiet. it takes only two minutes to the next metro station. you'll get free botteled water at the vending machine! i really love that place! -
We went to DC to celebrate my husband's birthday for a long weekend. We looked for a long time online and a lot of the offering was overpriced for the amenities available. The Club Quarters was a great find!!!! The staff was very helpful throughout our stay. There is an espresso bar on the 2nd floor!! We were a few blocks from all the greatest attractions, walked to every site. Never had to take a cab or the Metro. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and will come back. We found a gem in D.C. and will be recommending it to our family and friends.
It was excellent clean and good amenities. They also upgraded to a suite upon arrival which was nice.
The staff was excellent. We were upgraded to a really beautiful room. They were very friendly, helpful, and professional.
The front desk staff was the most amazing staff I have ever encountered in my travel experience. Hotel employee was friendly, funny, welcoming, and professional all at the same time. This hotel is in a very nice neighborhood that I highly recomm
Excellent customer service

Very comfortable, room layout was very well put together. I especially liked the half bathroom! I love modern interior design, which this hotel has; however, we have a 21 month baby and the sharp corners on tables and furniture pieces makes it a dangerous environment for a walking toddler
Awesome service. 5-star service. Organic restaurant on-site.
Bathroom and toiletries. Bed and linens. Location is nice, but not walkable to tourist destinations.

Good price for where I needed to be.
The location was excellent and the price was good value. Everything was in walking distance and the room size was very good for family.
being able to store my bike for 12 hours! free breakfast
The breakfast was awesome! The room was clean and had lots of space. Good value!
Friendly and helpful staff. Convenient for a wide range of restaurants in terms of both price and cuisine styles. City open topped sightseeing bus stops within yards of the hotel and that bus links to other tours for a 48hr one off charge. For the fit the hotel is only a few minutes from Pennsylvania Avenue and around 30 minutes walk to The White House. Parking would only be economic if you would use it regurlarly. The sightseeing bus is on a route where they are infrequent - miss one and wait 45mins for the next. The 'complementary' breakfast is in a room which is cramped. During our stay the elevators were unreliable but only caused a delay.
comfortable rooms and quiet
Comfortable room with nice amenities. It was nice to have breakfast in the hotel before going off to my conference where they were only offering danish and coffee. Only one elevator was working.
Spaciousness of room + the kitchen facilities Breakfast menu all a bit too sweet for British tastes!
Great location near Georgetown and Foggy Bottom metro.
Location is in the downtown with lots of things to see round - downtown is 10 minutes away, Wholefoods is close by, restaurants, Starbucks, etc. The facility is pretty old and used, the rooms are very small. I had a corner room, with so little space like in the hostel. There was an unpleasant smell of coffee in the room, which stroke me from the moment I entered the room. Breakfasts are OK, but the sausages were out by the time I came down for breakfast and nobody seemed to re-fill them.
It was close to K street and lots of restaurants. The room was large and good for working. Curtains were FILTHY!. Sofa was old and brokendown. Wifi did not work and staff did not seem to care to be helpful. Only one elevator was working still. I will never willing stay there again.
Clean, rooms updated Rooms a bit on the small side
Clean room, big bed, hot shower, fast enough internet. Located near plenty of restaurants and pubs. Convenient to Metro. $22 for breakfast, which in NOT included with the room?! Luckily, Bagels Etc is a short walk away. Coffee machine in room was nice, but staff left just two creamers each day.
There was food crumbs underneath the bed when we got there
Nice clean rooms. Friendly staff. Great location for Georgetown and GWU. For a brand new hotel with lots of current technology the air conditioning unit was surprisingly noisy. Bring earplugs for sleeping.
Great location in the west end of the city close to Georgetown and DuPont Circle. Walgreens is across the street, as well as a Ritz Carlton. The bar/restaurant had good American fare and it's a good place to unwind.
The staff - from the front desk to the man who greeted us at the door -was very friendly and welcoming! When we asked for a late check out then extended our time by 30 minutes only. That seemed silly.
Front desk staff was great at check in and even called the room later to make sure it was good for us. The hotel is convenient to the metro, and was a great value for the area. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that the extra towels I requested were not in the room on anyday we were there.
Room was clean and comfortable. Food was excellent. They refused to provide receipt at the end of our stay. Strange.
We stay in DC a lot but first time in this hotel. Very clean and great service. The attached restaurant/bar was very good as well with excellent service, nice selection and very reasonable DC prices. The area is good and this hotel is well situated.
The staff was amazing. They were extremely courteous and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel just based off of that. Lao, the rooms were clean, and the bed was comfortable. Awesome location.
Clean Recently renovated Kind staff Late checkout (12pm) Excellent location Very small pool Mediocre restaurant
Great location. Very clean. Great rooms. Great showers and Neutrogena bath products. I only gave the value three stars because it was $400 a night. HOWEVER, it was a big weekend in DC and all hotels were ridiculously priced. But since I don't know what the normal rate is, I have to say it was not worth the price.
Location - walkable to everything Requested several items - fix drain in tub, additional remote for TV and did not get them.
No maid service
I had a very comfortable and modern furnished 1 bedroom apartment. It included a complete, well equipped kitchen and also a washer and dryer--quite luxurious! The public hallways always had a cooking smell--not always pleasant. The smell did not penetrate into the rooms.
location of the hotel on center of the capital. in the 9th floor on my suite there was very noise left , which have a big sound when arrive to the floor, so he wakeup me of my sleep, many times on every day of my 12th night.
We like the great location and the friendly and helpful reception staff. Scott from engineering is very responsive and dedicated. The cleaning staff is one of the poorest we have encountered in our travels. Their attitude is surly and their work poor. On our cleaning last cleaning day, 30 July, dirty sheets were left all day in the general hallway just off the elevator and our room was not cleaned. It was cleaned Saturday by a resentful staffer, who did not replace towelling completely and we found out later, threw out or bags we were saving in the cabinet under the sink for our own trash and shopping.
I liked the comfort and facilities particularly. We stayed in a two bedroom apartment and we were a group of 3 adults. The space was large and comfortable. The heating system was easy to manage and the kitchen area was better stocked with utensils/equipment than the place we stayed in NYC. I was particularly pleased to have a washing machine and dryer in the apartment. The staff were very welcoming and helpful with information. The location was also excellent - just a short walk from the White House and it was an easy walk to most museums etc. Our criticisms of AKA are minor. A "light breakfast" is available Monday to Friday. This is tailored to the American market. We would have found it more usuable if more cereal options and toast were provided.
An apartment feel in a hotel setting. Very comfortable and welcoming. Lots of space and facilities which made for a luxurious end to a 5 week travelling holiday. great position, quiet- 1 block from the white House and a short walk to the National Mall and close to Metrorail.
terrace missing breakfast on Sunday
The accomodations were fabulous. Great fitness and business center. Courteous staff and location can't be beat when business at the Capitol. Little trouble communicating with maid.
