Worst car rental experience ever!! Getting the car was over a two hour wait..horrible. Then after they assigned us a car when we got to it someone else had also been given that car and were already in it so back we went to get another car. When Avis asked for a rating and I explained what happened, absolutely no compensation was offered , just a “we’re sorry”. Sometimes that’s just not enough.Reviewed 23 Apr 2026

The agent told me I MUST buy the toll pass because there is no way to avoid the toll roads on my way to Austin. I discovered this was a lie. Made me angry when I figured it out later.Reviewed 9 Oct 2025

The car that I rented was not available. The only vehicle available for the price that I was quoted was a 15 passenger van. I had to pay $80 extra to choose between a SUV or a mini-van. This happens a lot with Avis. It's very frustrating as a customer.Reviewed 20 May 2025

Great customer service and ease of finding car after payment. Con’s included non-sanitize pads available in the car, car still had oily parts from previous renters and I was charged for fuel service even after declining service and refining car at full.Reviewed 11 Dec 2023

The dropoff in Brownsville was pitiful. The airport return lot wasn't properly marked. There is nobody there to explain how to check in. I ultimately went into the airport and found someone to confim dropoff.Reviewed 4 Oct 2023
