Overview Reviews
Located in Barking (Abbey), Barking Hotel is within a 10-minute drive of Excel Exhibition Centre and Victoria Road Stadium. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk and luggage storage.
1.0 Poor
Pros: Leaving.
Cons: This was quite simply the worst hotel I have stayed in since I was accidentally booked into the YMCA in Copenhagen in 1992. How can a hotel bedroom, which was smaller than some kennels, not have a bin or towel rails or a toilet that works or taps that work (hot was cold and vv). The shower was so small I couldn't put hands on head to shampoo without elbows restricted in movement and smacking both sides at the same time. The decor was foul, grubby and 20 years old. The building is a warren and a fire risk. As for those who gave this hotel a 10 and called it "wonderful" without being named? I might suspect that these figures have been manipulated. Give up your crown Basil, you' have been outdone!!
1.0 Poor
Cons: Staff is so badly behaving look like a gang leader on the reception and not a clean or noa towel no mate on the bathroom floor it's so wet and bathroom flesh not working three days I staid. even one day I didn't got the room survice so I asked to do and they telling me they only do the survice twice a week not every day and they give me the room 3rd floor no lift it's narrow stairs so I can't carry my baggage no help from staff to upstairs
7.0 Good
Pros: I did not have the breakfast. I was looking for somewhere near the underground station and that is exactly what we got. The facilities were good, only if they are providing a shower then you would hope to have a hair dryer, otherwise perfect for what we were looking for. The room was clean. The staff were friendly and very helpful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was very clean, the staff were very helpful, Alex the owner was fantastic. I would recommend this Hotel to all my friends my work colleagues , all I can say is EXCELLENT
Cons: I don't think any think could of been done better, a very enjoyable stay

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was good, bed was comfortable. Room kept clean and tidy. Friendly and helpful staff. Very close to train station.
Cons: No toothpaste in bathroom, which is difficult to bring when you fly in.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was friendly. Breakfast we very good.
Cons: Rooms are not noise proof and I could hear other people in adjacent rooms.
7.1 Good
Pros: Location, parking, great staff, good breakfast, clean rooms, acess to nearby shops and restaurants. Despite the negative comments that follow I would gladly return. I was very impressed with the assistance afforded to us by the staff - thank you.
Cons: It may be just our room but the bathroom was smelling damp - needs drain cleaner I think. The room (27) was small. We had a second room - accross the road that was much roomier. I will in future speak to hotel on booking to get a better room. Too much 'lowlife' hanging about in the streets outside - perhaps the chain needs to complain to the local Police about the drug users in the locale.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice breakfast
Cons: This deposit of 50.they take from account and I have not recieved it yet
8.0 Excellent
Pros: very friendly and open staff who assisted throughout check in and out. The room was spacious and very clean. The internet signal was good and the room was warm and cosy!
Cons: The only down side was that you had to leave the building to cross the road to the other Best Western hotel to have breakfast and to book in and out. Car parking was also an issue with limited spaces.
3.7 Mediocre
Pros: The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very nice and included in the price. The price of the room was very affordable for London. The guests were mostly families on vacation.
Cons: The picture of the hotel is only one of the buildings they have. I was put across the street in a converted old home (which is normal for London) but the room was tiny; if I was a heavier person I could have hardly fit. The neighborhood is mostly Pakistani and very diverse; no problem there, however lots of men hanging out in the streets late at night. The train into central London does not run on weekends so I had to take a long bus ride. I don't think I would stay there again.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The rooms are great
Cons: The restaurant is very small and are no variation in terms of choice.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Staff were nice.
Cons: The shower was leaking badly so barely any water was going through the actual shower head. Loud shouting at at 5.30 am on the first night keeping us awake and the walls are very thin so can hear anything and everything going on.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: price easy to book
Cons: not posh looking
5.0 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was available and ok
Cons: Beds were too close together, not enough room to move in bedroom. Not very clean, Malteses chocolate under wardrobe door, and second wardrobe door has been screwed in. Very smelly room, needed to get them to spray but had to buy our own air freshener to be able to sleep. Noisy from road traffic. Shower door very hard to open and shower leaking wasting water
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
6.0 Good
Cons: Because no one brought breakfast in my room like other hotels I have been to
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice friendly and helpful staff. No problems at all.
Cons: Bit of damp/mould in the room just above the bed. And only 1 teabag left for you! Otherwise clean and comfy stay.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: The idea of taken security money and after your visit, it takes about a week before your money comes back to your account has to be scrapped. I used my EU cash card and the deposit money is yet to return to my account and is running to 2 weeks now. This is totally shamble
Cons: Breakfast
OYO Arinza Hotel - Ilford - Bedroom

7.4 Good (1,072 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at OYO Arinza Hotel in Ilford (Redbridge), you'll be 14 minutes by car from Excel Exhibition Centre. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
7.0 Good
Pros: Very comfortable stay, staff very helpful & pleasant
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It’s close to the station and the staff were very friendly and helpful
7.0 Good
Pros: Location was ok. All the time room temperature was warm! That's all good points
Cons: Room was really small, duvet covers was not clean, also next room and recepetion was to close, so peole was very noise all the time .
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very low price - for a very good hotel makes an excellent experience. The manager suggested a local Turkish restaurant for dinner (a 10-minute walk away) - it was excellent. The room was quiet, and everything worked. Coffee, tea and biscotti were provided in the room; breakfast was delivered to our room at the time we'd asked for. The hotel is a 15-minute walk from Ilford station, along the faded grandeur of Mansfield Road. The immediate location is gentrifying - which is good news for lovers of Victoriana.
Cons: A couple of minor things - the breakfast croissant wasn't very appetizing (lots of non-natural ingredients); the bathroom was difficult to access - it required walking to alongside the bed towards the pillow end, and then opening the door. But the layout of the room suggested this was the least-worse option. Finally, it would have been nice to have a socket for the kettle above the table - we had to move the kettle to the floor to plug it in. None of these issues detracted from what was a very pleasant overnight stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: all staff was very friendly worth mentioning is zameer who helped us a lot and mr irfan was very kind as well
4.2 Okay
Pros: Sort of close to the subway, nice staff.
Cons: Sheets were not cleaned at all and had dirt/sweat stains all over the sheets, shower was moldy, outlets in walls did not work properly, tv did not work, card reader barely worked, bad area of London, and very thin walls.
2.2 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing
Cons: The hotel is disgusting
8.2 Excellent
Cons: My room did not have a window, only a little sky light. Breakfast was sub standard
4.2 Okay
Pros: The staff was lovely and accommodating when I needed tickets printed or in trying to find a parking space.
Cons: We didn't get towels on the first night even though we checked in well past midnight and had to leave early the next morning. The room needs a dehumidifier because it has a pungent damp smell upon entry and there is no flow of air in there.
3.7 Mediocre
Pros: The staff was friendly. That's about it.
Cons: To keep things simple: -The card reader on the door was broken. -The remote didn't work. -The air conditioner didn't turn on until nearly three hours after it should have. -The room smelled like smoke and dust. -The bathroom smelled like a combination of sewer and mold. -There was mold all over the shower and wooden stand in bathroom. (Ended up not even showering.) -There was a hole in the floor where the pipe led to the sewer, where I'd imagine much of the smell was coming from. Had to keep the bathroom door closed whenever possible and hold my breath when entering. Wouldn't recommend unless you're on a super tight budget and don't mind being a bit uncomfortable.

6.0 Good
Pros: Room was oldfashioned.
Cons: Looking old inside the hotel . Here and there even even a bit scruffy . Painting the place and new carpets would make a lot of difference.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was ok, Location good. Bathroom was decent enough.
Cons: room needed a hoover, holes in the mirror, the Heater didnt work, windows wide open on a cold day when walking into the room, so room was freezing.
7.0 Good
Pros: Had lovely view of park. Clean rooms. Lovly TV Comfy bed Hot shower Value for money
Cons: No coat hangers, or hocks. had horrific rain, in a double room two people and no where to hang wet clothing. Had to be creative using shower, towel rail and the doors which wasn't convieniant at all. Then fire doors slam because the draft excluder had been placed on the door rather than in the frame causing them to catch.. So you hear and feel through the walls people slamming there doors closed. One of the morning crew, short dark hair carcasion has very poor people skills, dosnt smile dosnt say hello... Just takes ur plates without asking if we had finished she did this to everyone both mornings we where there... Wore a grey camo hoodie and jeans each morning.. Extremely rude. The lack of hot vegetarian options for breakfast vwas very disappointing, when it was stated we where Vegiterian in advance.

Pros: Everything is awful! From Staff to Cleanliness and Comfort everything is horrible!
Cons: Everything is awful! From Staff to Cleanliness and Comfort everything is horrible! In reception i was charged twice for the same room. I booked the room using the website and i paid with my card but when i got there i've been charged again. The receptionist seamed not to understand how this online payments work, so she asked me to pay again for the room. I insisted for a refund but it was a difficult to get it. I had my money refunded only the next day. I won't recommend this place!
6.7 Good

3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Gentleman on reception when we arrived was nice polite and welcoming I saw him a few time during our stay and his smile alway seemed genuine. That about all I can say for what was good I'm afraid
Cons: Location not the best police helicopter overhead for both nights we stayed. We walked down to the local shopping centre, in which in the time we were there possibly a little over an hour I saw a local ic3 gentleman try to guide a disabled man off the street to rob him when he refused he drew his finger down the mans face in a gesture he was going to cut him on seeing that I was watching what he was doing he scurried off, later an ic1 north eastern European gentleman noticed a elderly woman sat on some steps he sat at the side of her trying to gain her trust for what purpose I do not know but again on noticing me he moved on, I was driving back to the hotel on our second evening the road adjacent the hotel i believe it's called the drive completely blocked off by police forensics officers, ic3 body on the floor not a good sight for the youngest kids of 13,10 and 6 to witness ..... these granted are uncontrollable events to the hotel just more for reference to the area which is very dangerous. No parking had to park in the local nursery grounds though the staff appeared to be using the parking spaces for customers. Breakfast a little bland... no real flavour to it and although it stated it offered a full English breakfast it was turkey bacon, room not the cleanest saucers looked to have been wiped with a dirty rag as instead of changing with clean ones, bedding made everyone itch possibly the detergent though not convinced, we saw the staff smoking in the clean linen cupboard, there was no engagement by the staff at breakfast except in a scowl I received for one of the kids spilling a little coffee on the floor. Dining room is very small with one of the table very close to the buffet meaning not a very good experience for any guest who maybe seated there.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Staff were friendly and accommodating, especially kitchen staff are always brilliant, breakfast is filling and plentiful, this is the main reason which brings us back here time and time again, also there is parking right outside the hotel entrance which is convenient.
Cons: I have stayed at this hotel a few times before, this time unfortunately I was given a family room in the loft which was run down, not been dusted down for months, mattresses were sagging badly, bathroom was falling apart, lights not working, not comfortable at all, hotel is situated in a rough area, so no walking around when it's dark, avoid this if possible.
4.0 Okay
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Rooms are smelly. Receptionist rude. Totally shocked to find a used condom in a dustbin on my check in. I searched for a cause for the awful smell in the room that's when I found it. I felt sick. The receptionist told me to live with it until next day morning. He said that he is a receptionist, not house keeping staff. I will never go there again.
6.3 Good
Pros: Price
Cons: Mattress are very old.

7.4 Good
Pros: The staff was friendly, very helpful, and we enjoyed them very much. The rooms were well stocked, and had all the necessities.
Cons: The location. This felt like we had landed in a very seedy part of London, which wasn't reflected in the online ad. We had to walk about 6 blocks from parking to hotel, and the area felt unsafe at night, with men in the streets urinating. Not a place I will return to. The bed was small and VERY hard. Probably one of the most uncomfortable stays I've ever had at a Best Western.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Great and very hospitable staff
4.0 Okay

Cons: I don't think any think could of been done better, a very enjoyable stay
