I made a reservation to pick up a vehicle and upon arrival, no cars were available. They indicated I could wait "in hopes" someone would come in with a return. After an hour of waiting, an associate indicated they had an SUV available that I could take, however the vehicle was dirty and had no gas. They did offer to go clean and gas it, but at this point I was so behind my committed schedule and didn't have time to wait another hour, I had to take a dirty and empty gas vehicle for MORE money than I initially planned for. The staff was friendly, but I was in disbelief that I was not called prior to arrival to indicate there was an issue with my reservation that they couldn't provide a vehicle after I just spent $40 on an uber to get there. Not to mention, there was no discount offered for the inconvenience and basically forced to spend way more money than I initially budgeted for. Extremely disappointed - the whole thing was just a chain of events that caused extreme inconvenience for me - including missing a very important medical visit that I waited three months for. I had pre-purchased insurance with the car rental because of reviews I heard online. They claimed I hadn't so I was required to buy it again. Overall the car was fine, just disappointed in being scammed.Reviewed 22 Feb 2026

Didn't like the fact I Didn't want an ev rental wasn't explained how to use it and wasn't told that i needed to download and app for the charging stations. Some people only want a paycheck but don't want to work. Budget should really evaluate who they hire.This is how you lose customers and that's bad for business. They didn’t have a car ready for me. I waited over an hour, I had to ask an employee to have mercy of me and ask another company if they could lend them a vehicle. I rented a mini van because I had 3 car seats and 3 kids so I needed a bigger vehicle. I find it extremely upsetting that they made us wait that long to get a car we were confirmed for in advanced. There were about 25 people waiting for customers to return vehicles so we could grab them. It’s extremely disappointing and stressful when traveling. Also the budget employees were extremely slow, spending over 15 minutes with each person so someone from Avis pulled me to take care of my reservation and it took her 1 minute to do it. Also, why would you guys offer insurance, I booked it and then at the counter the employee says “that’s a third party you won’t have coverage” so why was that offered to begin with?Reviewed 22 Feb 2026

I ordered a compact SUV and received a Toyota Corolla. The budget office in Georgetown had experienced a bad flood and they were preparing orders on a car. They did not provide the SUV I reserved even though there was considerable snow in the streets still. When I returned the car seven hours later, the Budget rep asked if I knew the mileage by heart which I did not. I had just put $6.50 of fuel in the car based on my mileage. She charged me an additional $15 because the Budget rep on the phone when I saw the $80+ dollars for the $29 compact SUV never received. I provided via email my receipt and SUV reservation as he requested. Then, I receive a lousy $30 refund. I will never recommend budget but will retell the scam to many. Use ENTERPRISE.
