I got there and found out about a policy change that they had NOT made clear anywhere. Specifically, you’re no longer allowed to rent using your debit card. I had paid a $70 deposit beforehand which I was told was nonrefundable. So I wasted $70 and an entire day for absolutely nothing!

Convenient location. Car was clean. Interior windshield could’ve used a wipe down glare at sunset was a little stressful on (unfamiliar roads/highway. Return process was great.

Supplier choice

They were able to accomodate a last-minute booking on a busy day. The staff running the car return was friendly and accommodating, especially when I had to return and ask about an item I had forgotten in my rental car. The staff was able to locate and return my item in a timely fashion and were very friendly about the whole ordeal.

I did not like that they held $750 on my credit card for a car that I only rented for 1 day. After returning the car, 3 days later, I am still waiting for the money to be returned to my credit card. What if that was all the money I had for my trip and was depending on it?

Check-in process was very long and price paid at the counter was double what I was expecting. Very unpleasant and I was never emailed a receipt like I was promised. The car wasn't even wiped down (maybe only vacuumed). Not impressed and will be reaching out to support to resolve this matter.

I was given a Ford Transit minibus - with no option to change. Much bigger than I needed or wanted, more expensive to run and insure. Difficult to park. Not impressed. Won’t be using Kayak or budget again.

They did not have the Rent-A-Car. I reserved when I arrived to pick it up. I was told there were no cars available whatsoever. That left me completely stranded at the airport. I was then offered a vehicle that was an upgrade for an additional $50 a day, but they would not approve my secondary driver because it was an upgraded vehicle. My entire trip was based on renting a vehicle with two drivers. I was going to stay and the secondary driver was going to return the vehicle back to the Calgary airport. Because the car was not available for us. I had to drive eight hours to return the car. I will never rent from dollar/thrifty/Hertz again.

Everything was done just the way I like it to be. The pickup process was very brief and I was out of the airport quickly. The drop off was even faster. The car met my needs entirely and was in pristine shape.
